Its a known issue that using Proton either Aurora or the game will steal the input focus. The only workaround is to run the game in borderless or window mode.

Just as a reminder we only support Windows and Steamdeck. We cannot help with other kind of linux distributions, there are just too many out there. If Aurora or the SDT doesn't work it can easily be also an issue of your distribution. Like things are missing or changed in a way that makes our apps incompatible.

What I cannot fathom is why people would buy a WINDOWS handheld just to turn around and install LINUX on it. Wouldn't it have been easier (and cheaper) to just buy a STEAM DECK? So confused... 😒

I can understand your feelings 100% honestly. For context, I did own a steam deck and eventually sold it. I LOVED it. But eventually I had to sell it to pay for a surprise vet visit, sadly. I've been working in a much better job as of late so I decided I wanted another handheld but I was going to go the route of as much power as possible along with lots of little bells and whistles like the fps mode and gyro controllers on the Legion Go. Context is everything my friend. I have two other windows devices (one gaming rig) so I wasn't really buying it for the OS anyways. Honestly I intend to possibly even triple boot this thing if I upgrade the ssd just for the availability of a new os flavor with new things to learn. I particularly find enjoyment in finally finding a fix or workaround for something kinda similar to bug testers, so throwing an off brand Linux OS on this thing was almost a given for me. Its honestly been a way smoother experience than I've been expecting and I'm not sure if I should be happy to have a good system/setup or be upset I have less to tinker with to satiate my sadistic curiosities. Just to irk you a little more, I put WinDeckOS on my SD before I sold it too 😂

Thanks! I had found this out a little before your reply but nonetheless extremely helpful information.

The issues I have are definitely because of my flavor of Linux, as an example that was pointed out to me here my steam directory is different than on a normal SD, so SDT won't work regardless. The most common error I get with using aurora normally is always involving WmiNetUtils but ignoring it has had 0 drawbacks so far so honestly I'm willing to consider Aurora itself working as intended. Scaling/window size is sometimes weird but I can just squint 👌😂
