Steam Deck Discussion

So I downloaded the SD tool and extracted it and ran it, clicked install said everything was fine then it opened steam. It now relaunches and says the compatibility tool part is not installed while the other 2 boxes below this remain checked. Trying to install it again fails, unless i close steam but then it "succeeds" then opens steam again and it self still saying the compatibility tool is not installed. I checked and in the compatibility list is the aurora launch thing and trying to launch a game with it just results in that same window as before.

that looks normal to me, are you getting an error message?

It doesn't open aurora like its supposed to per the readme. it just keeps opening the launcher telling me to install it. the login never shows up. that is the problem im reporting.

Can you make a screenshot of that message please?

So to reiterate I launch AuroraLauncher the first time, it launches, the bubbles are empty and not checked like expected. I click install, it proceeded to do what its supposed to far as I could tell, closed steam, copied itself to the steam compatibility folder, downloaded aurora in downloads folder said it was successful and would relaunch steam and itself.

It then relaunches itself in this state and steam reopens

Clicking install at this time results in an error of not being able to copy AuroraLaunch(presumably because steam is still open)

Manually closing steam results in the same screen(and clicking install) as the first image(that its successful and relaunching itself and steam again), and its just this over and over again. It never proceeds to launch the login screen like its supposed to according to the readme. It does the same thing in game mode as well.

Attached one of the logs that's in the log folder(contents in both are roughly the same, doesn't seem to give anything particularly useful) Config folder is empty which is expected I assume as it hasn't gotten past the installer to the program itself.

After installed and it relaunches it expects to be a specific path/folder. Otherwise it shows you the installation screen again. Did you made any changes on your Steamdeck in any kind? What is the OS language?

Do you have multiple users on Steamdeck OS?

No changes, English and only the one user. Can u share what the expected path should be and I can see if mine differs in any way?
