I'm just baffled by the administration's direction towards diminishing the value of the LIFETIME OF LIFETIME PLUS membership by continuing to provide the means for any yahoos out there to purchase it after initially declaring that it would only be limited to 100 backers, giving out an impression that these 100 backers would be the only owners of this supposedly Limited-Edition membership status. I wonder what the other 99 initial backers think about this change over time. I definitely am not amused by what's happening to the seemingly false advertisement on the Tier 6 backer kit originally stating the following:

TIER 6 - FINAL TIER ($500) - Includes an official vote on the final app design. Those with special message board access will be able to view the designs but only those at this tier or higher will be able to cast a vote on their favorite. The final design will be chosen by the one with the highest number of votes. We anticipate 5-10 completely different designs to choose from. Note that the final design may change slightly as additional features are added to the app based on message board feedback but it will follow the final design structure. Includes a custom designed CH T-Shirt or Hoodie (your design or ours, your choice) delivered free worldwide. Includes a free Lifetime upgrade (if not already) and a LIFETIME of Lifetime PLUS. Must back by Nov 12th. Limited to 100 backers.

Someone should have thought about how people might react to their "limited" stuff becoming not so much as limited after all, or maybe, should not have claimed it being limited in the first place... just my two cents. I know, I know. You lawyers out there would probably say that the "limited" applies to the entire Tier 6 backer kit and not just the membership part, and if you want to play that card, then be my guest. I'm sure I'm not the only one who still would feel like someone who has been deceived.

So, you don't feel "special", is that the issue? Because you don't get a gold badge or special status for being a Lifetime of Lifetime Plus? You don't even know how many people HAVE this membership because we don't distinguish between them on the site. Can you point another out to me by looking at their CH profile? Yes, we had originally planned to limit the number of backers but we had a TON of people come and ask that we extend it because they wanted to donate at that level and also take advantage of this offer. Was I supposed to turn donors away? Just because of this "status"? Well I am sorry, but it was a FUNDRAISER. You were supposed to be DONATING because you believe in the site and what we were trying to accomplish, not for some made-up "special" membership. I guess some people just need something to complain about all the time.

When the Kickstarter made its debut, it was a great time for many of us. Not only was a new AIO app in reach, but the perks associated with the upper tier(s) were a worthwhile grab as it pulled a lot of the right strings too including Lifetime of Lifetime Plus.

But, it was smack up against the holiday season as well. Wallets were being stretched. Anyone with families put their families first. The tier 7 price tag could otherwise fund gifts for many loved ones. Then comes January and credit card statements come pouring out.

IMHO, extending the Backerkit is a wise business move.

[1] It allowed cash strapped users to get the big ticket items they initially wanted.
[2] Others very likely took advantage of various items. Purchasing more RC’s and spins for example.
[3] And probably one of the biggest perks which comes out of the extended Backerkit sale—development funding.

Programmers are not cheap and specialized ones cost even more.

Regarding your point about being deceived, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought items (software included) only to have it discounted six months to a year later and that doesn’t even include “fire sales”. Games are a perfect example.

Yes, they at first said it was limited, but as time progressed there were more and more users interested. If there is more interest and users saying they don't have the funding right now, but in time they may, you're going to shut them out and say screw you--time's up? Not from a business perspective you will. The continued sales also provides funding for much more development time which is a HUGE plus to the users.

Again, from a business perspective, the discount makes perfect sense. Like any For-Profit business, sales and/or services are your lifeblood. Factor in high inflation, fuel costs, and higher living expenses to name a few, consumers (clients) are faced with less disposable income which equals less sales. Lower the original asking price to factor in rising cost of living.

Nobody is getting "taken" here. You believe Lifetime of Lifetime Plus makes them money? Not in the least. Their bread and butter comes from monthly/annual subscriptions. Lifetime of Lifetime Plus benefits us.

Again, only my opinion, so please take for what it’s worth.

Hence I emphasize Someone should have thought about how people might react. I'm just stating the obvious and trying to criticize the fallback. I'm not trying to ask for any explanation or an excuse. I'm not even trying to ask for any solution here. I'm just spilling my thoughts. It's just feedback, not a complaint. I'm just pointing out the principle, or lack thereof. It's just my two cents as I have previously stated. I apologize if this comment seemed offensive and if my straightforwardness comes out to be somewhat cynical, but I sincerely have no intention of causing any disturbance. In case it wasn't clear from my message before, I don't care about whether this membership status is, or was, "special" or not. I actually feel indifferent about it, "it" being the membership status, not about the changes that I, and potentially some other people, feel "unfair."

Well then, it was not our intention to be "unfair" to anyone, including you. It was our intention to RAISE MONEY to fund something that was outside of our budget, at least the kind of product that we wanted to make and not some half-ass Win 3.1 looking app. If that meant extending our offer to a few more people, who exactly is it hurting? If you got a commemorative 1 in 100 stamp or coin with your purchase then I would see your point, but it's a MEMBERSHIP, and like Jim said, one that is ultimately LOSING us money. But here we are, giving away STEAM DECKS to those that DID purchase that membership which we will lose even more money on, but we wanted to give something back to a lucky few that gave to us when we needed it the most. And I REFUSE to feel bad about it.
