I don't seem able to change the Cosmos beginner theme to dark despite screenshots on cosmos page showing it has a dark mode, settings has no theme setting.

You're speaking about the standalone app? I think that with the integration into Aurora the standalone beginner app is deprecated and we might remove it. The Cosmos in Aurora has dark mode and you can use it on any process.

Yeah was referring to standalone, I presume it doesn't support CE tables anymore then?
