Hello, I've been trying to get my StreamDeck to work with the Hitman 2 (2018) trainer, but I can't seem to get the trainer to detect keypresses generated by the StreamDeck. I tried changing the keybinds to F-keys and even letters, but I simply cannot get it to work. I can use keyboard buttons (on my physical keyboard) to trigger the hotkey toggles though. Does anyone have any experience with getting the Stream Deck to work? (I haven't tried with other games)

    Additional Info:
    - Hitman 2 (2018) newest version on Steam
    - Stream Deck XL with latest firmware

I have a Stream Deck (not the XL) and I can try it out with Aurora and see if it works or not and report back.

I tested again with a different trainer, Hitman 3 3.100.0, and it seems like I have the same problem with that as well 😢

I expect Stream Deck is just sending keys to an application with using SendInput or similar? That doesn't work. Trainers and Aurora listen for virtual key presses application wide. To make this work Stream Deck would have to trigger a key press on hardware level (or via a driver) which it probably cannot.

I don't have the Stream Deck but can you run commands from it? Just like on Windows Win+R? Can you enter URLs there and if you then click on your button does it open the webbrowser? If so I could add a file protocol that lets you trigger a cheat.

A file protocol is an URL which sends a command to an installed application instead. Just like for steam for example: steam://install/8230

I tried on mine and that is possible. It has a "website" button option in the "systems" group. That lets you enter a url that then opens in the default browser when pressed. It also has a selectable option for "Get request in background"
Here is a link to what it looks like in the Stream Deck software Link
I also attached the file to this post.

Can you enter the steam URL from the post above yours and confirm that it "does something with steam" instead of opening your web browser with this URL? I don't know how "well" the software is coded so I would like to get a confirmation before I'm going to spend time on this.
