Ok, so I figured I would try someplace where people will actually understand what I am talking about since google search and windows tech support don't seem to get it.

I would say, maybe going on 3+ weeks now, anytime I play a game on my rig, after a random amount of time, sometimes as little as 5 min and sometimes as much as 15 min I get kicked out of the game and back to the desktop. Here is where it gets strange. The game doesn't crash, AND it doesn't lose focus. If I alt-tab out of say American Truck Simulator, it will go to the pause/menu screen, same with Fallout 4. In this situation the game just minimizes and still runs "which is not fun when it happens going around a corner with a load for world of trucks cause it just keeps rolling with no input control".
I thought perhaps AV so I used Norton's safe-mode removal tool and that didn't change anything. I updated all drivers, firmware's, bios, etc.. That didn't change it. And I tried running SFC and that didn't come up with anything.

Has anyone else been experiencing this? A windows patch that screwed something up perhaps? I am out of things to try and test.

Might be part of your hardware failing or maybe overheating.
do you have it with low requirement games as well?

World of Trucks is a multiplayer side of American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator, thus not covered by the trainer...stay away from online side and everything will be fine 😎

I would look at other third party apps you have open and running either on the desktop or in the tray. Kill them off one by one and I bet one of them is grabbing the focus away and bringing it back to the desktop even though it might not seem that way.

I should have prefaced that with "I don't use the trainer for ATS after initially creating a profile". I have a Class-A with Tanker, and Doubles IRL, the game is good on the driving side. I just use the trainer to get the certifications and the money. After that, I run the game with my Workshop Mods and that's it. I figured using it with WOT might cause issues so that's a no go for me.

I have sensors for water pressure, feed line temp, return line temp, ambient temp, air flow in the case, and temps for SSD units. I can get pulled to the desktop playing Surgeon Simulator Anniversary or a NES Emulator. The weird thing is I can watch a movie in iTunes or on VLC for 2+ hours and have no issues. Its like its only when a game is running. .

I guess that would be the next step then, I am going to have to run the registry editor and see what entries are in the RUN and RUNONCE hives. Then try closing other stuff that is open 1 at a time and see if I can get it to stop that way. If I do, I will know what the problem is. If not, I am just going to try a windows reset and then reload things..

Thanks for the tips everyone, back to the grind for now. 🚀

    Update, Got it resolved!!

I disabled all the programs in the notification bar one by one and it still happened. So I was pretty much going to go the reset route when a coworker said to check out the program called autoruns from the sysinternals website.

After going through and looking at everything including hidden services that run at startup, it turns out the Asus WebStorage cloud drive I had uninstalled, left the sync service behind and set to "delayed" startup so it would keep running at random intervals and trying to update the folder that didn't exist which triggered a command prompt window to run and then exit. Obviously it ran so fast I didn't see it cause it switched out from the games I was playing and closed before I got there. 🤡

    Thanks for the assistance though!
