So believe it or not AOL Desktop which many of us remember as AOL 2.5, 3.0, and 4.0 is now known as AOL Desktop Gold. Essentially for $4.99 a month you can have an old service that has no forums that you remember but the mail client is the same. No buddy list, no IMs.

The chat rooms are still there and the only active chats are the Republican Chatroom and 65 and over dating lol Which shows the age of the current AOL customer
