I haven't used their platform, I just don't like having to pick a "platform" on PC. There's already a handful of game stores on PC, I like being able to have the game I want on the game store I choose. Really it is the developer's choice on what store to use. And Epic gives them a good incentive to go with them instead of say Steam or Origin.
Epic is a new store front on a block that has well established stores with better features. The only reason they can hold themselves up right now is because of big investments and exclusive games. The other platforms have been around for a while and for now offer players a better experience it seems. I'm sure given the time and enough money to throw at their platform, Epic will catch up.
I for one don't hate them, but I am more likely to lean towards a platform I've used more and has better toted features. I am also wary of their Tencent (Chinese Government) influence, small as it may be.

Because they pull EGS exclusives. It essentially divides up the PC player base just like the console platform wars. I don't really hate Epic, neither do I use them.
