Red Dead Redemption 2 Message Board  

For me this game is more buggy with freezes and CTD's than even the Civilization series. DirectX wouldn't even start so back to Vulkan and it ran. Now, nearly once or twice during a multi-hour play run, the game will freeze up. This time it loads then locks up before displaying the game with the music running.

I am now on my fourth "Verifying" through the Rockstar interface which usually helps. I know it isn't the trainer as I've had it happen trainer on and trainer off.

On the bright side, I climbed on top of a roof and head shot'ed every Pinkerton stooge in Blackwater and snuck away in the confusion. So I have that going for me, which is nice...

Since last patch, I do not have any issue with the game even though I am playing in Ultra settings. However, the game does not impress me as it has been rated as the best looking graphics ever.
Regarding the trainer, it does work as intended but not in the way we know. Usually we press F1 to activate the trainer in the game menu but in this case, it won't work if you do so.
You have to press the Window key and your desktop will opens up ( while in game ) and you have to use your mouse to click on Press F1 to run the game ( on the bottom of the trainer ) and then your trainer will activate; after that, using your mouse you need to activate each function in the trainer. That is the only way I know it is working.

bob_person: Did you buy the game on Epic? Just curious as so many people have problems with RDR2 after buying it on Epic.

Yeah... I've long since figured it's got something to do with Rockstar's DRM as implemented across two different clients. We are basically seeing Ubisoft's UPlay version 2.0! At least they seem to have fixed all of the problems I was having as of this post. Maybe I should have just gotten the game on Google Stadia! 😀
