Before I start complaining, I've gotten so much use out of your website and really appreciate all the hard work you guys do. It's been a few months since I logged on (I kind of fell off gaming for a little bit and just noticed I got charged for PLUS again) and I decided to take a look at the trainer option requests page. I was kind of blown away by the point costs on some of the titles:

100,000 for most of the Windows Game Pass games? Not to mention other platforms.

Have there always been titles this expensive to vote for and I'm just remembering incorrectly? If so, I'll shut the hell up and deal with it but I recall 60,000 being the highest previously. Or is this a real increase in point cost, and if so, what is the Site's reasoning? I play games exclusively through the Windows Store and this would make your website much less worth it for me to upgrade to Plus next time around, considering half of these expensive options will not see enough votes for years to come with such high deductions.

I realize Windows is probably a pain for you guys to code for and isn't the popular platform next to Steam but please help me understand these apparent changes 😐

Edit: Also if an admin sees this, I haven't received my recurring Plus upgrade yet 🙂

Its nothing new really, been like that for years but the amount has been going up.
Its likely because there are so many points that go unused, something like millions or billions of points that have been accumulated that people aren't using over the years.

Its not specifically Game Pass games that require that many points though.

The baseline for the funding amount is based off several factors including unspent RC in the system, previous games in the series, previous game developer games, distribution, etc. Windows Store games are harder to train than Steam so those should prob be marked up more than they are already.

Typically if a game is even remotely popular then it gets funded within a few days due to so many people having so many points. We just gave out 50K RC to all active L+ members last month and we give out RC with the Prize Wheel and then randomly throughout the year. You can also earn up to 100,000 RC per month by joining our Trainer Monkeys trainer testing team.

We have plenty of credits and ways for people to earn them to justify the costs of the trainers and options. Remember we only have 2 programmers, not 20 so we can't make every title cost 20 RC and fund every game and option in the list. We have to focus on what is most popular and that is what people are willing to spend their credits on.

Thank you both for the quick responses. Like I said, I am well aware of how hard you guys work and that the Windows Store is not the popular platform. It sounds like we basically already understand each other but it's nice to see it spelled out. I was not aware of the alternative ways to earn points like the trainer monkeys, so that's something good to come out of this.

I will just have to weigh all of this when next year rolls around like anyone else would. As long as the points being awarded are being balanced with the increase in point costs then I'm a happy camper. Now if I could just get my living wages to match my increasing cost of living I'd be super happy LOL

    Thanks again!
