Mass Effect Andromeda Message Board  

One of the things that you can do as part of the creation process in Mass Effect Andromeda you pick the gender that Shepard was in the original Mass Effect Trilogy. The effect in game is that when characters talk about Shepard they will refer to Shepard as either him or her that's it! I find this curious since I thought Andromeda was making shall we say a clean break from the original trilogy.

Wonder if a save import will be there to facilitate things shepard did as well

From what they have said its not supposed to, the only effect it will have is the gender, and only a few moments with talk of shepard or anything that happened in ME 1-3.

From what I have been hearing they wont be any connection to the trilogy.

besides mention of Shepard in some fashion since the before mentioned choice of male or female shepard.

Its a choice of Male or Female Ryder. No connection to Shepard!

Thought so. I am however looking forward to that if you use the default names Scott/Sarah you will actually be addressed to with those names in the game which I think is super cool can add some intimacy to the romance in the game that I felt was not there when called by your last name in the trilogy
