I thought I did something awesome lol. I was wrong.

Playing around with CosMOS, I managed to freeze the clock in practice and qualifying. I went through two races with maxed trim/knowledge on everything I needed for each race. I figured I'd test to see if the address was fixed. It's not. I went back to the main menu, reloaded my save, and it stopped working. I guess the address changes each session. Oh well... It was worth a shot.

Well... Now you know it is possible to freeze the practice/qualifying clock using CosMOS, but you'll need to do it each session. It might be good for a really long play through...

    4 questions:
    1) what is CosMOS? I've never heard of it, and google search only brings up the tv show and other stuff that has nothing to do with pc gaming
    2) where can I get it?
    3) how do I use it to freeze the timer?
    4) can it be done using CoSMOS? And if so, how?

Thanks nevermore, that answers questions 1 + 2...now to figure out #3....

*edit* after installing, it looks like the functions are pretty much the same as CoSMOS. I have a little bit of experience using CE to find memory addresses for exact values and then changing or freezing them, for example using it to make a stack of items have negative weight in "The hunter: primal" so that I have effectively unlimited carrying capacity, but I dont know how to find the memory address for the practice/qualifying timer. Can anyone offer any help on that front?

I have the alternative option of using the unity asset bundle extractor to modify the base time limit of practice/qualifying, but doing so would mean always having to wait for the increased time to expire once im done setting up my car. Freezing the value is preferable since then I can take as short or as long as I need and then only be left with a couple minutes to kill. Just modding the time limit means that I could still run out of time if a car is proving particularly difficult to get dialed in, or if a car gets dialed in very quickly I would be left with a lot of time sitting around waiting for practice to end

Change the search from byte to all. I've had the memory that stopped the timer be a byte and a double byte. Do your first scan.

Now comes the boring part. Let the timer drop a few seconds, and then search 'decreased value'. Rinse and repeat, repeat, and repeat.

I have yet to get it to pinpoint the final address. The best I've got it down to is 12. I just locked/unlocked each one until it the timer stopped. It's always a single address.

Note: It keeps the same weather going the entire time, but the grip on the track will max out if the weather is right .

so for my first search, do I search for the number of seconds on the timer? For example 5 mins even would be 300...or do i search for something else? Or do I have to search for unknown value first?

tried searching initially for 719 (11:59 in seconds), then letting timer run a few secs, searching for decreased value, repeat, and eventually got down to a single float value that freezing had no effect in game. What am I doing wrong?

*edit* nvm, tried again and this time a i got a float value with a whole lot of decimal places attached to the value and freezing that froze the timer.

Glad you got it. Could you test, after your playthrough, to see if it sticks for you?
