Recently Windows Defender has updated and is now crashing/blocking our trainers for no apparent reason. There is no history of the file being blocked in Windows Defender but there is a crash log in Event Viewer. We're trying to get MS to look at this and resolve the problem, but we need your help.

If you guys could give this a "Me Too" or a response with the same issue if you are experiencing it, we would greatly appreciate it.

To do the "Me Too" is literally a single click and takes 2 seconds. The more of us that do it, the better perhaps MS will 'hear' us.

I am not sure what the problem is, but for my system Windows 10 64 bit, I enabled Windows Defender, ran trainer that some said was crashing due to Defender, and the trainer runs fine here.

Maybe if you are having crash you can list specific OS and which trainer..

    no problems here

    best,
    Cal

Go into settings/Update &security/ windows defender/ go down and find Exclusions and click on add an exclusion and then exclude a file and select the trainer.

PWiz, I think the relative opposing views between you and Caliber may have slowed the member responses. Just sayin.

I wasn't one of those that reported having trouble with Defender but I have been having trouble crashing in Fallout-4. Strange though, sometimes it's every 20 minutes and sometimes I might go 8 hours and not have one. Forums everywhere are full of people having crashes so I've assumed it was mostly game related.

Then I saw my logs. Would you guys look at the attached text from my logs and see whatcha think? It keeps listing the trainer as the faulting application name. Thanks.
