Win 10 - Redstone preview (build 14316..

Wondering if anyone else has noticed any issues with some of the trainers not working correctly with the Redstone branch of windows 10?

On the whole, the majority of trainers are working fine, and do their job correctly (big shout out to the CH team for doing a brilliant job of programming them well from the outset....) However, I have noticed recently that several that I use seem to be not working as intended or not working at all. Assassins Creed Syndicate starts, but then when trying to activate one of the functions, nothing happens. After a few minutes, finally you hear "cheat activated" but nothing actually works (no health, no ammo, no reload etc).

This evening, updated to build 14316, and Ryse just wont start up at all (I have tried starting as admin, and other than windows defender, there is no other AV stuff). This is the same with the trainer for Middle Earth - Shadows of Mordor. I have even tried compatibility mode for Win 8, 7 & Vista!!!!!

I have re-downloaded the most recent versions just in-case the copies I had on my system had been corrupted. But even these copies are exhibiting the same behaviour.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on. As I said, I have no AV other than Windows Defender (which cannot be de-activated). I have tried admin mode, and compatibility mode, and still nothing. I suspect that there is something within the build version that is causing the problem.

Is SmartScreen turned on? If yes: do they start normally when you turn it off?

White list a folder in Windows Defender and put all your trainers in it

AS : Syndicate worked fine before the previous Redstone update, the trainers for Shadows of Mordor& Ryse both stopped working after this update to build 14316. This has been the only change to my system.

SmartScreen has no effect on the trainers - they had already been "unblocked" when downloaded. I save them to a NAS drive, which has the effect of negating this anyway, and even if I save them to my main drive, this is the first thing I do along with ticking the "run as administrator" box in the file properties.

I have never had any issues with defender blocking any of the trainers. As I said, the only change is updating to a Redstone build. Reading in the AS : Syndicate thread, other people are having similar issues.


(ps turning win def off has no effect)

It's likely that the new build has something that prevents unknown software from accessing or modifying the games.

I can confirm that this is an issue with this latest build of Windows 10. Note that some other previously working apps are also crashing or not working with this build. We're going to look into the error but it could just be an internal issue with this particular build of Win 10.
