Oh goody, you're another person who doesn't use your own brain and only repeats what news outlets with no sense of logic shovels towards you.Please "get started" on Evolve's $140 of DLCs.
Oh, but wait. There's not $140 of DLC yet. There's a $25 season pass, and $61 of skins. Those sites like VG247 say $130-140 because they add the bundles, and the skins separately even though the bundles include all the skins. I'm not supporting their DLC practices but if you're gonna insult a game, at least get your facts right.

It is a bit like Titanfall in that it has a SP mode that is the MP mode with bots and that is it. In my opinion that does not translate into having an actual singleplayer, but hey, it ticks of another box.
If they say they offer SP. Then they should actually offer proper SP. I already had talks with the lovely titanfall creators about it. After one of their statements. No one wants to play single player anymore.
So if you supply SP then do the work not just use MP and add bots. Oh and btw the Story in TF actually sucks to!
They have at no point said that this game offered a compelling story. They have said, at length, that single player is for continuing the action, should you lose your internet connection. The assumptions you're making and the standards you're trying to hold them to are unfounded. If you were to actually write a 'review' about this game, I can hardly believe it would be anything more than a rant about Turtle Rock not creating the game you imagined it should be, despite all the information you were given prior to launch.
This game is about the Multiplayer action. Working together to overcome an obstacle. The story comes from the conversations the characters have during the fight and on the dropship. I'm also sure there will be more snippets of backstory to come in future releases.
Everyone bashing this game for lack of a story when none, at any point along the way, was promised or even alluded to, is simply bafcheathappens.
TL: DR; It's a great game. Graphics are lovely, gameplay is fluid and engaging. If you're looking for a deep 'tugs at your heart' story, look elsewhere.
PS: Having read much of what you have to say, I don't believe for a second the 'creators' of any game would give you the time of day. You're simply too unprofessional.

Yeah, it's the prices for this that adds insult to injury. I had the game wishlisted since announcemnt. Then after realease, it was looking thru the Steam Reviews and comments here that saved me from an expensive mistake.
And UT 2004 rocked. Loved that game and spent many enjoyable hours playing it.
