Assassin´s Creed IV: Black Flag Message Board  

is it complete freedom or strict liner story driven? can you capture ships and stuff? to sell em for proffit or have a fleet or you stuck with one ship for ever?

Glyth if you had seen trailers and stuff you'd know that the ships you board and stuff are yours to do with as you please, Now I can't remember if it was possible to take it over. But it was possible to increase crew. Salvage or send the ship to YOUR fleet. And make it grow. And Assassin's creed has ALYWAS and I repeat ALWAYS been complete freedom to do as you please. And there is always side missions and stuff to occupy yourself with.

EDIT: Also it is a very bad idea for the story and understanding to not have played ATLEAST AC3 or in truth any of the assassin's creed. They have a story that is around one specific object/subject. And they all turn around and end there, it always involve Spoiler:

you can only use and upgrade one ship, you can eventually send ships to your fleet to "sell" (in a way) or send them off to do missions Ala assassins guild missions, but you can not pilot them yourself and can only keep a fleet of 15 max. It is also free roam for the most part, certain areas of the map cannot be explored until certain parts of the story have been reached though..

hmm ok:/ iplayed 1 and 2 but on 2 i ran into a gglitch where i did al;l the work to get the armor for nothing the thing never opened after placing all the things and i reloaded and it still gave nothing
