I've done a little messing around too, and found a few things. If you open the DefaultEnemy file, you'll see things like this listed for each enemy type. Subcategories are for aware/unaware/dark/ect. Just change the Distance and PeekingDistance to 0. Then they cannot see you, except for scripted events. Do this for all entries, and they're all blind.
You can also change damage dealt to 0 for attacks and being thrown in this file, as well. So if they start swinging, they never hurt you. (God Mode)
In the DefaultGame file, look for these entries. Change all the amounts to 0.0, and you'll never make a sound they can hear. Couple this with making them blind, and you can walk around with the rubbing your camera in their face, and they'll never know. They still see and hear you in certain scripted event, however.

bUnlimitedBatteries=true also work. you just need to pick up one and you can change battery all the time :-)
i have not tried the cheat.true part yet and realy dont know what this can do but im sure it will do something to :-)
And is there any way to make enemy footsteps louder so you can hear them approaching sooner? Same for when they open/close doors so it's louder so you can detect them earlier. Hate it when they sneak up on me and I don't have enough reaction time to find some place to hide.
There's only a general volume slider in the game but no way to adjust ambient sounds, NPC footsteps, voices, etc to be louder that I can see.
