Yeah I was about to warn y'all that they were going to release a new patch, the most recent updates had a ton of bugts in it so they did some massive fixes...
It SHOULD be the last update in a while but I can't promise that (browsing the forums bug/tech support to try to get a handle on that).

I just tested version 1.12.1.0(ae85) of the game and the latest trainer (Europa Universalis 4 - Trainer 1.12.0.0) seems to still work. But I have not tried all of the options yet, only numpad 1-5, /, * and F2-F7.

I've used the trainer with no negative issues (so far). I've used money, stability, and monarch points - mostly for negative events in-game.
I still wonder, would a more limited trainer be more viable for cheathappens? Limited options?

There was a hotfix, its now 12.2 but not to worry the posted trainer works just fine.
