we had this fixed hours ago and a working tool for using the trainers with steam. apparently, though, steam has pushed another patch out and things are back to normal. make sure to give steam some time without a game running so it will update.

    best,
    Cal

There hasn't been a Steam update yet to push a fixed GameOverlayRenderer build, but I was just told it's now in the pipeline.

a patch occurred for me about an hour ago. I have used our trainers since then without any tools or help with multiple games. pwizard confirmed the trainers are working without the compatability tool for him as well. if there is another patch/fix in the pipeline then that's great to hear as well. perhaps there is more involved than just the gameoverlareneder...

glad to hear this news though.

and thanks again for you input in this discussion. I am feeling better about steam/valve.

let's hope this sort of thing doesn't happen again.

one thing is sure though guys

IF ch and our trainer users didn't see this crap first hand, and reacted on steam itself
be sure about it that valve also would not had seen their "error" right away, and maybe after days and user ranting, still maybe were hard to be convinced of their "little" mistake

so in behalve of CH and our esteemed users a big thanks is in place

@Caliber did they delete your post in the thread O.o, or did you do that yourself?

The crash is pretty intermittent due to how memory allocation works, if &lpFileName[-1] is a valid address, it won't crash. Maybe you're just lucky?
