i think gandalf used this pipe to smoke weed and there is a good reason for that, the longest the pipe the easiest it is to smoke because you get a cooler dried smoke which do not cause tounge bite.
anyway this specific pipe is a beautiful churchwarden and well worths the cash, tobacco wise i recommend that you start with captain black's "white blend" the ultimate aromatic tobacco for beginners full of taste and body and very light on the nicotine but dont try to inhale, pipe tobacco is not designated to our lungs.
also i must tell you that there are 3 diffrent type of pipe smokers: the aromatic smokers, the english blend smokers and those who smoke both.
aromatic tobaccos are flavored like chocolate, coffie, cherry etc' and are much more likly cause a tounge bite because of the contents and the fact they are much moist, the english blends are'nt flavored and are much drier but are kind of harsh to smoke most of them contain "latakia" tobacco which is originally a syrian tobacco with a very smoked flavor almost like barbecue that is not everyone's cup of tea.
there are also in between blends there you get both of the two worlds.
i personally smoke them both and very fond of in between blends..

there are many more methods and tobacco forms which require diffrent packing like the flake tobacco's but you'll learn about them with time.

The chocolate and cherry ones are the type that I think I would like. I tend to like sweet or very sour things so i think the flavored would be best for me. Where can I get tobacco like that?

well true pipe smokers dont use screens, you need to clean your pipe after every bowl you smoke and must let it cool down and dry at least 5-6 hours before your next bowl.
you can have an endless collection of pipes but you really need 2, one for aromatics and the 2nd for english blends, there are some smokers who use each pipe for specific tobacco that's the best way to go if you are filthy rich..

about the tobacco like i said star with captian black's "white blend" it's an aromatic tobacco flavored by chocolate coffie and dates and very light on the nico, you can get it in any grocery store, when you'll feel ready enough you can switch to much more quality tobaccos that offer much more taste and punch like the brends: davidoff, dunhill, peterson, samuel gawith etc...

im not gonna lie, smoking a pipe is badass.
i feel like i need to be at least 40 with a red silk robe and a glass of scotch before i pick up that hobby though >_>
so true.. i started smoking pipe after i finished my army duty (got the idea from the reserve troops or the veterans), i was 21 years old and everybody mocked me even my family, now at the age of 30 it's much fitting but still i see a few people are lifting eyeborws but bottom line is it's not an age issue it's weather you like it or you dont.
anyway i prefer to smoke it when i'm alone or with other pipe smokers because i dont want to force my smoke on non smokers and besides i'm not smoking pipe in order to be seen or that people will think i'm more intelligent, i smoke because i like it
