So, if you run the 1.02 trainer with 1.03, it doesn't work at all or some options work?

No, they do not. At least not for their retail/digital version. All you have to do is to set UPlay to offline mode and then cancel/abort the patch download. It will then let you play your currently installed version.

so, what if you don't open the map or the weapons locker, does it work then?
