So far i've been playing the game and it hasn't crashed at all... well other than the time it crashed because of the version mismatch of the trainer :P. As for the game being buggy so far i've had the game for 2 days and now just past the 90% of the story but the only glitch i've come across is a car doing donuts at the intersection in the background during 1 of the in-game cinematics dropping off a girl at the end of the date... made me laugh neway
So far i'm loving the story but im sick of hearing people compare every game they play to the GTA series.
Different systems can come up with different bugs, but guns -do- seem particularly more buggy for more people than other areas. I had aiming problems, most commonly when shooting from cars, myself.
EDIT: This game -is- better than any GTA game I've played (Played 3 and 4), even if I wish it had more gun shooting. It's mostly martial arts fighting, but it's still a lot of fun and despite what others say, I think the graphics and cities are beautifully rendered and I don't even use the high texture upgrade pack.
My final thoughts on this game? i feel it's better than any of the GTA games i played by far. the story should be be even longer, should have also given the choice for wei to go back to the law or move up in the redpole... alternative ways to kill smiley ass lee.. the reason i like this game is the rarity of weapons.. since this is asia, u can only obtain guns through illegal trade, so melee & common items are best used for brawling.
there's only 1 other thing i hated abt the game... the f**kin anti cheat system... i mean, that's for what? because of social hub? even GTA4 lets u cheat via ingame cheats or trainer... use trainer on sleepingdogs, spam too much instant CTD.. that's BS, also there are no ingame cheats for SDs either... which i find it funny, as i watched machina live dev diary for SDs, they say there will be ingame cheats... but i cant find any... boo boo
final verdict? i will play this game again, just for kicks lol... just hated the anti cheat MF system
Sofar I liked tha game too. In my thoughts it is some kind of GTA style but asia setting with martial arts. I think this sums it up a bit
The story an characters are fine so far. the steam and anti chaet thing I also find a crap! I mean only for that stupid social nonsense nobody needs. But anyhow that's the wa it is. As long as you don't use to many key of the trainer it works fine.
So if you like GTA and like another setting in asia with martial arts instead of guns than the game is worth a try. Even as it has a lot longer gameplay as most of the games today. The only thing I don't like are the controls something during car chases as if you control with "w a s" it is hard to hit L-ctrl The graphics could a better but maybe I have to download the High Res pack. But it therefore works fine a non high end PC.
The game is not bad but i had other expectations. Its too arcade style, its just like TRUE CRIME HongKong. I thought it will be more real simulation style like mafia 2.
its a mediocre game at its best and doesnt get near to gta 4 in my humble opinion, the only thing which is nice in the game is the fighting but it grows on you pretty fast..
