I would love to find a way to add more points while making a custom race. I know in masters of orion 2 you could. Just wondering if there is a way to do it
I would like to know this too. I've looked, but I can't find anything. I've tried editing the custom race file, but it deletes it when I save the file.
In EndlessSpace_Data in the endless space directorythere is a file called sharedassets17.assetsuse notepad++ or equivilent program to open it up using Find search for the following below
Affinity Name="AffinityTerran"
By modifying cost you can change the amount of trait points available.
However as the game employs a character count you have to be careful. This means that 65 can only be two digits meaning you can only achieve 0 to 99 trait points to get around this problem you can reduce one of the other races trait points to a single digit to get 999 trait points. It should be fairly obvious which races are which from the descriptions of affinity name.
tried editing the file with notepad, but the game just hangs before it goes to the main menu. All I did was adjust affinity for sophon from 65 to 99. I kept the character count.

figured it out. Used notepad ++ instead of notepad haha. Thx a bunch.
Aftermath : Anyone recognice that there is a Pirate Race entry too ? i simple tried to set it from "hidden" true to "hidden false" but the Game crashes and didnīt start up ... just wondering ^^
Thanks worked out that half of the message was pretty much erased due to the formatting used by this site so I've made it a bit easier to understand now what i was talking about lol XD
