Monk is the best for Solo play. i have solo'd all the way into Inferno mode. only a couple times have had my mate on his Wizard for a couple Boss fights. Out of all the Class's The monk is only based class That Can do Buff/Heal/Dps/Tank all-in-one.
My character (Monk) level 60 She is Lethal. May not be as powerful as a barb But Speedy Attacks and sharp movements make the Monk a more formidable character.
For Solo play i would recomend this Dps setup:
Way of Hundred Fists( Rune:fists of fury)
Exploding Palm(Rune: Esence Burn)
Breath of Heaven (Infused with Light)
Lashing Tail Kick(Scorpion Sting)
Mantra: Your own pref: Boss fight: Of Healing/Boon of protec / Heavenly Body.
Passive Skils: Guardian's Body/Six Sence/Chant of Resonance

They have served me well into Inferno mode.
Hope they can add some help for you.

Wizard is best for inferno at least in my case. Their low vit, high hpr, high crit chance build is easiest for inferno.

DH kites well in inferno and can cancel cc. Add on the ferrets for the extra gf when farming.

Monks are decent in inferno. Might have to skip the annoying mobs though. (Links, Poison, Molten, Waller, Frozen, Jail, Desc) Any of those will kill you if your invul spell is on cd.

id say between wizard and witch doctor... wizards are just op and tear everything up... witch doctors have decent pets useless on inferno but use locust and haunt and it will take down a group and you can just run along kiting em... wizards tho dont realy need to kite put up their resistance and watch that beam tear the mobs apart...

Been playing around primarily with Demon Hunter and Wizard, and thus far I'd give the edge to the wizard.

You can kite incredibly well with the DH, but I find myself going through Discipline too fast for sustained encounters against aggressive, stunlocking happy elite and champion mobs.

With the wizard though, Force Armor/Prismatic swapping and their ridiculously high DPS ceiling (lots +Int gear and the right rune combos and you can blast down anything) means I burn down things so fast that their relatively low inherent Vit is easily compensated for.

I do plan on give WD and Monk a try on Nightmare once I get my Wiz fairly far into Inferno (Act III Hell right now).
