How does this game ends? After defeating the red warlord's castle, the game just go back to the main menu. Am I missing something

If I understood you correctly,

Thats only the tutorial

The other campaigns should now be unlocked.

Click on their Sigil/Symbol/Icon on the top left of the campaign map menu.
