Thnaks I appreciate the reply. My problem seems to be how to start the game using the parameters listed in the instructions. I created a shortcut to the games EXE and added the parameter to the shortcut but it still doesn't work. So if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.

You need to set the commandline parameter to -usepreview, extract the Preview folder (with all its contents) into the base WSM folder, and then run the game through the Steam interface, not a desktop link. The tell-off sign in the main menu even before loading a savegame is that the Online button is locked.
