Cliffs: It doesn't matter that Nintendo's new console isn't a step forward, because they're just polishing the brass on the titanic. The future is casual gaming, and social gaming. All hail Facebook and the Apple App Store.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

An interesting read. But aren't you still rather frustrated now and then whenever games developer, lets say for example, Infinity Ward - who became successful on the promise of the PC gamer back in the day buying their games.

However, it seems more and more popular for most developers like IW who started off on PCs are now quite open to make their games for the consoles of the era before making a cheap port over to the PC gamers, who let's be honest, tend to be a bit more hardcore than the average console gamer; what with hardware upgrades mostly every year. The other side of this would also be that a vast majority of PC gamers these days have been playing them for quite a long time.

I would think it more beneficial for those companies that were first created to stick to those who helped them reach success, like us old PC gamers, rather than rushing toward the "40% market base" of console users hehe.
