Hi everyone, I'm new to using trainers with games so when I got Trojan warnings installing the trainer manager I was like O.O. I read the notice on the website (really helpful!) and it's definitely because I have AVG.
I'd love to get a better program to replace it but seeing as I just spent $60 on an unlimited membership (I can tell I'm going to be downloading trainers for ALL of my fave games!) I'm a bit strapped for cash right now so I'd like for it to be a free program.
I've heard Kaspersky is good but it's also expensive past the 30day trial so are there any other alternatives?
True, there's always going to be a bit of overlap... but AVG is definitely one of the worst. It's so bad, CH has a section dedicated soley to it on their AV page, haha!
MSE is best. The only reviews in which it does less than a damn good job are those sponsored by the likes of Norton and McAfee (I.E. the big subscription-required AV suites)
Norton has done A LOT of cleaning up of their program and it's actually extremely well and a competition for the other paid AVs. MSE is the best in terms of free applications, but they will never reach the abilities of paid AVs. ESET and Kaspersky are the top of the chain in terms of AVs overall. MSE isn't fantastic, but neither is Avast, Avira and AVG is just absolutely horrible. People that don't get viruses are ones that know how to avoid such things and properly secure a system.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing about McAfee. No idea what they're doing but they need to play catch up.
