Seems the missing textures, missing bodies (floating heads), missing map/inventory/menu background things that usually are followed by crashes, are mostly related to PC specs and the way you set your graphics up.
The right-out crashes stopped for me when I set the texture memory allocation lower (probably has to do with Vram). Some glitches still happen, but it doesn't simply crash out of the blue anymore..... for now.
This is actually the cause of the majority of bugs in a lot of games. Players get frequent crashes, memory leaks, you name it, but it's more often than not because they've set their graphics options higher than what their machine can actually do, i.e. the game is told it can use up to 1GB of VRAM, but the machine only has 512MB.
Unfortunately, not many people will admit to this because they're embarrassed that the mistake is their own, and people like me end up getting flamed for saying it's on the players' end and not the game -coughfalloutnewvegascough-.
Having said that, though, I'm not saying for certain that's what's happening here - I know the game has some bugs - but it doesn't hurt to check. Set your graphics options as low as they'll go and see how long you play before a crash, if there is one.
Well honestly I am still not playing it has CD-projekt has not fixed such major bug not allowing players to play in full screen mode...
Do you have Crossfire (2x ATI cards)? If so, disable it and just use one. Also try lowering your screen resolution through Windows.
@Vannhelsing: What kind of crash do you have? Any specific error messages, or just the usual stopped responding/CTD?
Try to close as many programs as you can in the background, and try playing it after a fresh restart.
