From the cover of the next issue of Game Informer the "next" AC game is going to be another Ezio game. I had a feeling it was a bit too soon for AC3, but I hoped. Why end the trilogy when you can suck more money out of the franchise. I just hope they don't stretch it out too long before AC3 or people will start to lose interest because the final game will bring nothing new to the table.
A templar spin-off does make sense though, especially since (at least this is what I felt through AC2 and Brotherhood) you're fighting the Templars, but you're never given a reason why, other than they want this object to rule the world... but why? How did they find out, what's their motivation, how have they accomplished all of this, etc etc.
But this is slightly derailing the topic =P.
As for the game, I get the feeling this is going to be along the lines of Alpha Protocol and Marmite... you either love it or you hate it. I liked the little I played, so I'll buy it when Steam stops being ghey, but I'll wait for the trainer before that.

Yes, I know there's Brotherhood =P And I haven't finished it yet, so thanks for putting the spoiler tag in. If you check out the cover of the latest Game Informer mag (you can see it on the site), the cover is the next Assassin's Creed game, and my point was it looks a whole lot like Ezio.

It really does stink of stretching out the franchise to make more money. I suppose most companies are guilty of that though. Surely they could have left this one until after AC3 though. I didn't realise that was Altair on the cover, actually. They do all look like Desmond, because it's his ancestors, but there's subtle differences between them. That one, though, I could have sworn was Ezio. Ah well.
@iKytez: If everyone were to base their decisions of buying a game based on who made it, no one would be buying any games based on past performance. Imagine if no one had bought Fallout: New Vegas because the dev was Obsidian?
