So,just wondering your thoughts on this game so far...
Waiting to get mine when iam paid.Tomorrow or friday.

Shorter than DA1 I think, or perhaps its just overly streamlined into linear story.

Yes it is shorter than DAO.

In my personal rotten opinion, this is a shame for the name of Dragon Age.
It was waste of my money.

Many mentioned, this is not the second DAO, it is a stand alone story. But for God sake degrading the character generation( with the reduced available classes), the wood-cube simple linear gameplay and the incredible dumb and self-repeating appearance of the enemies...
I know i because i am from Hungary, but come on, this is about money but gamers

I find that the companions in DA2 are lacking somewhat. Aside from Varric, Bethany, and Merrill (if you suck up and agree on everything she does), everyone else is either annoying, suicidal, or lack character. The combat in DA2, in my opinion, is better than Origins since it's a little bit more fast paced and less shufcheathappens. Almost everything else is a downgrade from Origins though.

    - The dialogue choices seem to give you freedom, but it doesn't. Basically, it gives one choice and differs on the way the character voice that choice.
    - Blatantly reusing the same 4-5 maps for the whole entire game is just lazy and boring for the player.
    - Removing companions inventory is a minus in my opinion. I like to customize my companions however I wish.

There are also a lot of quest bugs, and overall performance issue that didn't get noticed during quality control. The lack of replay ability is also a minus. Unlike Origins, if you finished DA2 once, you probably don't feel the need to replay it.

PS. Interesting enough, Bodahn mentioned that he and Sandal will be serving in the Orlaisian Court afterward, so a DLC expansion or maybe DA3 might be set in Orlais next.

I have to agree with most of you I played all of DAO and the DLC of that all was AWESOME DA2 was a real letdown the storyline was Great Good plot and path, However the maps and repeatative use of them was disappointing, I am sorry but we have plenty of caves where I live and NONE of them are the same as the other, the use of the map from one side of it to the other boring after the first two times through it, as far as the game I feel it was worth prolly 30 bucks I feel I was ripped off cause it was 1 short wasnt as long as DAO finished it in less time it took.

I do however like the game play click R and off you go to attack the nearest enemy in sight, The Dialog OMG I miss the DOA approach, Click on someone and you can choose to talk not in DA2 anyhow I think The game doesnt have any replay even thou if you choose a different class you basically have some differences in how the story lays out, A mage OMG your brother is a Jerk, LOL do not know how a rogue story goes have not tried one I was a warrior first then tried a mage,

So far, I enjoyed this game. Sure, some companions aren't what they should be, and they should never have even implied Sebastian is even a romance option, given how weak that is. Also, I love how they made the races even more pronounced and diverse, the biggest change visible being the Qunari, obviously. Them having horns now, as an example. Them also changing the Elves to have more pointed features than just their ears, and they looked thinner, much less human. In the first they appeared almost human, with the exception of the ears. The game may be a bit shorter, but to me it was very immersive, and they /did/ re-use a lot of the same maps often in DAO. But, I still trust in Bioware anyways, this game isn't what it could have been but I'd never call it a waste of money, as Bioware released good games.

And, some of the companions ROCK. I highly enjoyed Varic's banter, Merril's quirky behavior, and Isabela was always fun. Anders was .. mediocre, I don't see why some want to romance him, and Fenris was interesting. What I didn't like is how twisted the Mage and Templar factions were in Kirkwall. They were good and yet very evil in their own ways, but I still sided with Mages, as they were enslaved for so long that they DESERVED to have a chance at freedom.

ALSO, I liked the map changes, especially the new cave types, it was a real breath of fresh air, with the foliage I mean. It was very nice and I think this game is a lot prettier than the first, but I use the upgraded graphics pack from their site.

People explode into cranberry juice when you hit them hard enough, and that alone made it fun for me.

I really dislike the way Bioware decides to reuse the same maps in DA2 for like 90% of their quests. I be finished with the game by tomorrow ish.

I agree 100% I also feel even with the high res pack that the graphics are mostly just texture maps and you can see that most in the armor of companions. You can see on Merrill for instance how the chain on her arms looks like it is apart of her skin instead of being a separate piece. DAOO's graphic are much more complex in this respect. To me Bioware have gone the interactive movie rout and took a ton of shortcuts with graphics.
