Hey guys, I recently managed to find a copy of TA (Friend had it woo!) But the problem is that i cant get any of the expansion to install it comes up with a message saying somthing like "this version does not work for x64 please contact the developers for a patch) Now as its made by cavedog theres no patch and the games yonks old.

I was wondering if anyone can help me out with this at all? as in how to get it all to install =) or if anyone knows anywhere else to find the info i need =)

I you get the game from GOG, (Link) it comes already prepped to run on Windows 7 64 bit.

I had the same problem with Windows 7 64, the game would install but CC wouldn't work and gave me the same message. There is a way around it but it's not practical for most people. You either need the capability to dual-boot or have/know someone with an old computer with a compatible version of Windows installed (95, 98/SE, ME). You first need to install the game, then install CC and then run the 3.1 patch. Once you have done this, you should burn the entire install folder to a CD. That way you will always have a fresh copy and never have go through this again. The rest is easy. Simply copy and paste the folder from the CD to your desired location on the computer of your choice and make a shortcut to the "TotalA.exe" file. The game should run just fine, if not, try compatibility mode. Enjoy.

Best option is like Sir said, get it at GOG.com ...Best $5 I ever spent. It also comes with the expansion loaded in the download as well. GoG also has many Win 95,98,and XP 16/32 bit games that have been made compatible with Vista,7 and Win 8 64 bit OS. You can also download editors for Units/Mods and Maps @ www.tauniverse.com
