If you make it to the door before getting caught then you're doing it right, there's not way to dodge (or even see) the monster at that door. When it attacks you you'll see an '[E]' prompt, and that's when you have to start mashing the E button until the prompt goes away. It's kinda hard to see I know, I must've died like 5 or 6 times throughout the game just because I didn't notice the prompt...it happens mostly during scripted fight scenes. But anyways, just mash E when it happens and you'll be alright.
