I whould like to ask you for your opinion on piracy of digital goods , video games in particular. in the eyes of alot of people (not including me) piracy & cheating are often associated with eachother. so it seemed a good question to ask around here.
i myself find piracy not to be tolerated however, to not only blaim the pirates , i also blaim the dev's for the consistantly shorter getting games these days i've been gaming for a considarable amount of time and in the old days (10 years back), games whould last 15 + hours singleplayer on avarage. now the trend seems to be to shorten the games, and make DLC available , so that we can pay for stuff that should have been there in the first place. a good example is the CoD:Modern Warfare 2 SP , which is around 8 hours for a casual player, and the 15 euro map packs they offer ,with 2 recycled maps and 2 new ones. im sure you all know what i mean by this example. so from this point of view, i do understand peoples reason to go pirate games. i do not approve it , but i do understand were they are coming from.

If it's an emulator, and the game being emulated is hard to get a hold of, then I'm fine with it.
Illegally downloading other games, however, is disgusting. I don't care if you're "just seeing if it's worth buying". You could probably download a legal demo easily for a lot of games. Don't make bad excuses.

im not making excuses ^^ im always legit however i do understand that people refuse to pay for half a game when the other half comes with an additional pricetag

I only buy games I really, really, really like cause I'm not a little rich spoiled brat so I don't have money for every damn game I want to play.
Also @ Shibby, you should move to Balkan. You'd be in awe to see that 95% of games here have the same price since the day they came out. For example, Call of Duty Black Ops is here 100$ and will remain like that for next 4-5 years. Just like CoD4 and WaW and many other games.
