Yet another laptop - networking problem
Anyway I have a Dell Inspiron Running on Windows 7 this time. And my dad got this dongle thing, basically a usb type internet thing. its from the 3network and tht works fine. Although since thats the only network its been connected to since the laptop came with the internet contract. Anyway I've taken my laptop around with me recently and it connects to all of the wireless networks around, but when i boot up internet explorer it says that it cannot display the webpage. I've ran troubleshoot hoping it would give me an answer i'd understand but it's told me theres something wrong with a proxy setting or something. Theres nothing wrong with the networks as far as I know because I'm using them right now. But with video edited being on my dell and having to transfer onto other computers to upload its real annoying. Help would be much appriciated. Thanks

Its probably because its still set for the 3network.

In internet explorer goto tools > internet options > connections

If the dial up connection for the 3network is there, click the never dial connections below.

This should force it to check other types, when you want to use the 3network again just dial whenever a network connection is not present.

Also another problem is, if routers are set securely they may disregard any unknown MAC addresses it does not know, effectively blocking the connection. You say you connect to all wireless conn's around you, this may be the case and also if your caught using someone elses connection ouch :P
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA
