They're only fun if you enjoy not being able to hear or see as you jump in place for prolonged periods of time with strangers all around you.
In other words, you need to be on drugs to enjoy them.

I've been to a few and no, not on drugs. You will find the longer you spend there the more obvious it what percentage of the people actually are on drugs, non-stop jumping around and shuffling and running away from evil monsters that aren't there.. Also explains why most of them sleep the whole of the next day.

I love raves, as above not on drugs, I just love the atmosphere, tons of strobe lights and being completely surrounded in a sea of neon colours and people with crazy accessories, makeup and clothes, all having a great time and enjoying wicked music. Really surreal experience, so I daren't think what a rave whilst high would be like, that's just craziness!

I've been to a rediculous amount of raves, only sober once for about an hour, but I have been without drugs a few times and they've been really fun. The hour long soberness was kinda fun too, but you really have to make fun yourself in a lot of those situations. If you wanna dance. Go for it.
