Ok late comer to the game. I'm in the same spot but how do you open the barred door in there. I've got the quest but it says " You can't use that right now". I've talked to both of the mages and Zyra so what am I missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Only fix I found for that was replaying the whole area in Windowed Mode.
