disable/uninstall your AV, firewall and any other security software you have.

Or, even better, go into your security software's settings and set the software it may be interfering with to "trusted" or similar.

Just tried my second game this time as the UK. Same problem.. deficit appears at -0.0 when i use the trainer but then i get kicked out of power due to worries about my deficit.. I know this game is a nightmare to use with a trainer but is their anyway to get the economic cheats working? Thanks

Can you do us a favor and send over a savegame before such a thing happens. With it, we may be able to find a quick solution to this. Cheers.

PhoenixCH, the problem appears to be that the value being changed is only in use when the budget screen is open. Someone else reported that if they kept the budget screen open constantly, they had no demonstrations or issues with deficit, IE the public didn't whinge or complain. But as soon as they closed the budget screen, demonstrations began.

On the other hand, when I was testing things out, I fast-forwarded to year end and turned on the budget deficit option - and kept the budget screen open for some time (from Dec 31 to Jan 7th). But the year-end reported deficit was completely unchanged, suggesting that the value in the budget screen is not the same value that the game uses for economic calculations. Perhaps it only uses that value for public reaction, and uses another, invisible value for the actual deficit? The closest number to it seems to be the one in your country info popup (the one displayed when you click your flag icon).

Off of that topic, what would be really great would be an inflation control option... at least until Eversim release a patch that actually contains an interest rate option. -.-
