too mucch for too little.....nuff said
i agree. to high cost for so little content. it feels like they dusted of the name syndicate and slapped it onto a FPS game with minor rp and WAY to much glow.
Shotgunmaniac, you are a man after my own heart. I've had the exact same experience- Short campaign that's really just an Easter Egg hunt for the REAL story, and a challenging Co-Op that's most fun on your own.
I LOVED the original Syndicate and Syndicate Wars, LOVE cyberpunk as a rule, rather enjoyed this. Sure, in retrospect I probably wouldn't have spent the $50-$60 on it, but still- I'm satisfied.
In the co-op you can solo Normal fairly readily, even early on; Hard is gonna be tough at first, since they start throwing minibosses at you fairly regularly; and right now, on Extreme, soloing is CRAZY hard, but you feel that it's DOABLE, and soon, I SHOULD be able to. Heck, with 2 similarly skilled competent players you can BREEZE through Extreme difficulty. I have just about everything- just need to finish the last 2-3 Extreme missions before I have the last Application research, and I think I just need one more level for all the Chip-mod points, and then it's just gonna be grinding for Weapon-mod points. I've had a blast.
Oh, and my In Game Name: Fraggoth
And Syndicate Tag: EYE, Cybermancers. (I know, shoulda done Neuromancers, but I wasn't thinking.)
Feel free to add me!
I'm actually currently attempting to do a speedrun of the first co-solo level on "oh crap" difficulty. I have an inner monologue at all times, so I've been trying to get my timing just right to get it done in one straight shot to where I can edit in some text commentary without exposing my horrible video cutting skills.
I think you hit the nail right on the head, though. It's kind of a niche game. A very, very, very specific niche.
