One of the points I made is that I DON'T know what to look for. If you have any suggestions, I'd be overjoyed to hear them. When I get it down to around 10-ish values, only 2 of them change when the in-game values change (ie, take damage/pick up health). For ammo, the aforementioned method works fine- you can see the correlation between the in-game values and the ones on CE. If you know of a method by which I can find the relevant addresses, please, don't keep them to yourself. Share the wealth, man!

How is the "energy" displayed on screen? Anyone have savegames further into the game for testing?

This reply probably isn't helpful. I have savegames further into game but unfortunately I have only played with the trooper armor which doesn't use energy. I am thinking that only the jet armor needs the energy to fly with a jetpack.
Does anyone else have a savegame playing with the jet armor?

The energy is displayed as a bar with a value above it.
The bar starts at 100, and decreases as you use abilities, etc. It begins to recharge almost immediately after you stop using an ability that depletes it.
Once it hits zero, it will begin recharge, but will not let you use any abilities until it has reached full (100). The numbers are always displayed above the bar, whatever they are (100,99,98,etc. down to 0).
I do not know how I would provide you with a saved game, but if you explained how I would do my best. I have saved games with Jet, Battle, and Tactical, all of which use Energy.

I started looking for my saved games. I can't find the location. yet.
It doesn't appear to be in any of the typical locations:
not in appdata local or roaming not in my documents not in C:\Users\Username\Saved Games not in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata

I believe it's under Program Files>Steam>steamapps>common>earth defense force>Games
I am not positive if that's it.

That could be the savegame. If it is, all the savegames are in one file. In addition, I don't know where we upload the file to pwizard.
