This game is RIDICULOUS!!!
And,i mean GOOD,BAD-A@#,FUN RIDICULOUS!!!
Blow the @#$% out of EVERYTHING!!!
This game is nothing like the first two games(which is good for me,i thought they got boring and redundant after a short time)
If you like the first two, this will be a very different game,if you don't,this will be a better game,IMO.
It's just good ole fashion sensless violence.
It has a story to it,kinda short, but good.
I was hesitant about buying it at first, but,i kept seeing and reading about how fun it was and broke down.
Iam GLAD i did!!! I HIGHLY recomend this game!!!

This is why I said in the AC Revelations forums that gameplay was more important to gamers than story. Saints Row The Third has very little story and it's the gameplay that makes this game shine. This game is a gem even though there's not much story to it. There's just so many things in this game that you can do. It's a must own game if you like the Grand Theft Auto games or the Mafia games. Get it, own it, love it!

As IG said, you're comparing two completely different games. It's like comparing Call of Duty with Monkey Island.
Games like SR3 are designed to be wacked out fun where you can do anything you want. For games like that, it's very difficult to attach a strong story to (even Skyrim has difficulty creating a strong, fluid story in terms of the main quest because the game is just so huge and there's so much to do, it's impossible to keep the pacing required), which is why most reviews either ignore or criticise the story.
While SR3 is a game built around pure chaos, Assassin's Creed is a game built around a story. Not only that, it's not a true sandbox game. The only thing you're free to do is run around jumping over buildings. Everything else is scripted, so to speak, such as assassin missions, the main sequences, collecting things, etc. You're punished for doing things you're not supposed to, such as killing random innocents, which you wouldn't get in a true sandbox game.
On point though, Saint's Row: The Third is crazy fun. I haven't laughed so much at a game before than I did during the first hour of this. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an environment to do whatever the heck you want. This is what GTA IV should have been.

This started as a disagreement about what gamers prefer when it comes to games - "gameplay or story?" What I was saying in the AC3 forums was that the gameplay was lacking compared to its story. In SR3, it's the other way around. Most gamers don't care too much about story compared to gameplay. The sales speak for themselves. SR3 blows AC3 away on all systems. Why? Because its "gameplay" is far superior to AC3. Doesn't matter that the two games are completely different. I'm just saying that it's gameplay that gamers want - not stories. If gamers wanted stories they'd go to Barnes & Nobles and buy a book. Gamers want gameplay that is exciting and that gives you practically unlimited options like what you get in SR3 where your imagination can run completely wild and where you create your own story. AC3 has a great story but the gameplay sucks (at least IMO). Each release of AC3 feels completely the same to me as the previous one. But we all shelled out $49.99 to get another piece of its story. To me, that's a rip off. From now, I'm sticking to games like SR3 that offer fun gameplay. I'll leave the stories to the novelists that sell books for under $15 at the book store.
Cheers!
