The first time it is run, a folder called My Trainers will be created on the C:\ drive if not already present and this will be the default location the app will look for trainers. This location can be changed at any time through the settings page within the application along with the option to have any trainers in the current folder copied to the new location. IMPORTANT! ---------- The Trainer Manager works with two specific folders. The first being the folder you choose to store your trainers (C:\My Trainers by default) and then a "work" folder located at c:\users\[username]\Cheathappens. These folders are used to download artwork, create CRC databases along with other files necessary to detect changes within your trainers folder and to save time on subsequent checks. It is highly recommended that these two folders (and subfolders) are excluded from being scanned by your security product. Trainers often set off false positives and it can severely affect the performance of the Trainer Manager depending on the number of trainers you have within your trainer folder. This is 100% optional, only a suggestion if you are experiencing performance issues or trainers being deleted while being scanned. We have video tutorials along with instructions on how to exclude or whitelist files and folders within 39 different security products ranging from ADAware to McAfee and ZoneAlarm. You can find that information here: https://www.cheathappens.com/virus_warning.asp DISCLAIMER / PRIVACY -------------------- The Trainer Manager does not collect, store or transmit ANY PERSONAL OR SYSTEM SPECIFIC INFORMATION THAT COULD BE USED TO IDENTIFY YOU OR YOUR COMPUTER with the exception of the physicial location of your My Trainers folder and IP address which may be collected within our server's log file. The software uses this information to simply display that location when downloading trainers. It is not stored in our database in any way. The software reads data from the trainer files in order to find the matching games or trainers on the Cheat Happens website and provide information on updates and other things related to the trainers. The Trainer Manager contains a built-in web browser which is built from Microsoft's browser (Internet Explorer/Edge). It behaves no differently than that web browser. It stores cookies, a web cache, etc. The Cheat Happens website is 100% SSL and the browser is designed to only navigate the Cheat Happens website however it is possible that a link somewhere within the Cheat Happens website could point to an outside website. You can always return back to the Trainer Manager start page by clicking the HOME icon next to the Cheat Happens search bar located in the top right of the application. For more information on what is collected and/or sent to Cheat Happens by the Trainer Manager please review our Privacy Policy at https://www.cheathappens.com/privacypolicy.asp. BROWSER ISSUES -------------- If you encounter any issues with the built-in web browser portion of the Trainer Manager, the settings can be changed by going to Windows Control Panel > Internet Options. Any browser extensions or security settings which would affect Internet Explorer or Edge will likely also affect the built-in browser. Some security products automatically install addons or extensions for Internet Explorer / Edge which may also interfere with the functionality of the built-in browser. FONT SIZES OR OTHER VISUAL ISSUES --------------------------------- If you have a custom DPI (scale) set on your computer display that is higher than 100% (normal) it can cause text and other elements to become enlarged and appear strange looking or even push some elements out of view if you are using an older version of Windows 10. You can check this through the Windows Display Settings under Scale and Layout. Some people use this setting to make text and other things larger and easier to read, especially on smaller screens and laptops. It does not hurt anything to set it to whatever suits your needs, just be aware that it can have an effect on the Trainer Manager if not on the most recent version of Windows 10. If using Windows 10 Creator's Update or higher, the Trainer Manager will now scale properly along with other windows, apps and text on the same monitor. You can disable the TM from scaling through the settings page. USING THE TRAINER MANAGER ------------------------- When launched the Trainer Manager immediately begins creating an inventory of the trainers in your trainer folder and checking them against an existing CRC database and the Cheat Happens website. This can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the number of trainers in your folder, if your security product is scanning each of the files and your internet speed. Subsequent launches of the application are much faster once the information has been cached and some of it stored on the hard drive. The Trainer Manager may be configured to start with Windows through the settings page and it will minimize to the system tray. The application is very lightweight and consumes very little CPU and memory, detecting when it's minimized to lower it's priority and resource usage. It may be kept running full time if preferred. Users may set the interval in which the Trainer Manager checks for trainer updates through the settings page. If updates are detected, a popup notification will display for a few seconds. At the top of the Trainer Manager there are three different checks being made. The first is if you are running the latest version of the software, the second if you are connected to the Internet and the third if an offline key is detected within the trainers folder. Note that it does not check the validity of the offline key, only if one is present. Clicking the "X" on these options will take you to the appropriate page within the Cheat Happens website to update or download what is missing. The Trainer Manager will detect if a new version is available and give you the opportunity to automatically download and update to the latest version if interested. This feature may be disabled through the settings page. Also at the top is a HOME button along with a search box which is used to search the Cheat Happens website for the keywords entered. You will also find a link to our CoSMOS Gamehacking Tool. If you already have CoSMOS installed, this link will launch CoSMOS and if not it will take you to the CoSMOS information and download page. On the Left side of the app is the list of all trainers (or .exe files) in your trainers folder along with a search function and two sort options. A-Z will list all files in the folder alphabetically and the UPDATES will show only those trainers where there is a new version available for download. Below that is a manual refresh button along with the last date/time the list was refreshed. Depending on the trainer, you will see simply the filename and a launch button or the artwork and links to launch the trainer, get support for that trainer or report that the game has received a patch and a new trainer update is needed. If an update is detected an UPDATE button will appear which will automatically initiate the trainer download process as long as you are logged into the website through the Trainer Manager browser. Clicking the title or anywhere within the blank space within that trainer's section will take you to the game's index page on the website if we are able to match it in our database. There is also a right click menu with several options that apply to the trainer you clicked on. AUTOMATICALLY ADDING/UPDATING TRAINERS -------------------------------------- When downloading a new trainer or updated trainer, if you choose to save the .zip file in your My Trainers folder, the Trainer Manager will automatically unzip the trainer and add it to your trainer list or overwrite/update the previous version as long as the trainer .exe had the same name. If it causes a duplicate due to naming issues, you can simply right click and delete the old version. If you do not wish to use this functionality then simply do not save zip files in your My Trainers folder. Note that you can also manually copy zipped trainer files into your My Trainers folder and it will have the same effect. This feature may also be diasabled through the settings page. MARKING FAVORITE TRAINERS ------------------------- You can right-click any trainer in your list and choose "Mark Trainer as Favorite" which will add a star next to it and also cause it to stay at the top of your trainer list for easy access. You can mark any number of trainers as favorites. The sort option will always show favorites first and then the rest of your trainers by A-Z. You may also batch mark trainers as favorites by cutting and pasting the trainer .exe files into the "Favorite" subfolder of your trainers folder. Right click to un-mark any trainers as a favorite or remove them from the "Favorite" subfolder. ARCHIVING TRAINERS ------------------ If you have any older trainers or non-TM compatible trainers that you wish to still show in your list but not be scanned for an update, you can right-click and choose "Archive Trainer". You can do this in batch by cutting and pasting the trainer .exe files into the "Archive" subfolder of your trainers folder. Right click to un-mark any trainers for archival or remove them from the "Archive" subfolder. ADDING BOOKMARKS ---------------- For any non-TM compatible trainer, including promos and trainers by other groups, you can browse to any page on the CH website and then right click that trainer and choose "Link Current Page With This Trainer". Now, when you click on this trainer it will take you to the bookmarked page. Right click and select "Remove Cheathappens Bookmark" to set it back to its original state. LAST USED TRAINER ----------------- The most recently launched trainer through the Trainer Manager will now appear above the trainer list on the left side of the app. Useful so that you don't have to scroll down the list to contiue using the same trainer. SETTINGS -------- This page is accessed through the gear icon in the top right of the Trainer Manager. Here you can set your preferences for many aspects of the software. Be sure and click the SAVE button after making any changes. If the list of trainers ever appears to be incorrect or acting strangely, click the RESET TRAINER MANAGER button to restore it back to system default. This will not affect any of your trainers. BACKGROUND ACTIVITY ------------------- The Trainer Manager is designed to detect changes made within the trainers folder instantly. This includes adding new files/trainers, overwriting trainers with a newer version, renaming files, etc. If the changes are not reflected immediately, a manual refresh may be necessary. BUG REPORTS / FEEDBACK ---------------------- If you encounter any bugs with the software or have feeedback on how we can improve upon the software, please do let us know either on the Cheat Happens message board (https://www.cheathappens.com/show_board.asp?titleID=13673) or via email to chusupport@cheathappens.com.
