4.   HIDDEN COMMANDS

   - Unlock all fighters.

     In the title screen, input: L2, L2, right, R1, R1, R1, left, left, R2, 
R2, R2, R2, Start.

     But reportedly, unless the player achieves Rank B or
above in Mission 14, the player may not be able to continue
further into the game.

   - Unlock 16 basic missions, but not hidden missions.

     In the title screen, input: down, R2, R1, up, up, L1, L2, L1, Start.

   - Unlock all Tamiya illustrations.

     In the title screen, input: left, right, L2, L1, left, right, down, up, 
Start.

5.   HIDDEN TRICKS

   - Unlock hidden missions.

     The game has two kinds of hidden missions: EX and SP.
     To unlock the five EX missions, the player must clear the game once, 
then achieve Rank S in certain missions, regardless of difficulty.
     To unlock the two SP missions, the player must achieve certain 
conditions.

EX1       Clear the game once, then achieve Rank S in
          Mission 01.
EX2       Clear the game once, then achieve Rank S in
          Mission 02.
EX3       Clear the game once, then achieve Rank S in
          Mission 06-2.
EX4       Clear the game once, then achieve Rank S in
          Mission 09-1.
EX5       Clear the game once, then achieve Rank S in
          Mission 16.

SP1       Achieve Rank A or S in Mission 04, then clear
          Missions 06-1 and 06-2 (q.v.). In Mission 06-2,
          destroy all enemies.
SP2       In Mission 10, destroy all enemies.

   - Unlock hidden fighters.

     The game has 19 fighters. The game unlocks most fighters after the 
player clears the missions.
     To unlock some fighters, the player must achieve certain conditions.

F-5Z      Achieve Rank S in Mission 08.
F-25      Achieve Rank S in Mission 15.
S-47      Achieve Rank A or above in Mission 16.
X-29Z     At normal difficulty or above, achieve Rank S in
          Mission 14.
F-35      Achieve Rank S twice in Mission 15.
YF-23     Achieve Rank S in Mission SP1.
Su-35     Achieve Rank A or above in Mission SP2.
X25       At hard difficulty, achieve Rank S in Mission 14.

     The S-47 is reportedly a better STOVL fighter than the
AV8B.

6.   HINTS

   - Take off and landing.

     Reportedly, in some missions, the player's fighter
take off from an air base or aircraft carrier to begin a
mission.
     During some missions, the player's fighter can land at
an air base or aircraft carrier, get refuelled, and take
off again.

   - AV8B STOVL.

     In Mission 07, the player must accurately land the AV8B (AV-8B Harrier 
II Plus) STOVL (Short Take Off and Vertical Landing) fighter.
     To land the AV8B, hold L1 to decelerate to minimal speed, keep the AV8B 
level, do not move unnecessarily, and the AV8B will land vertically.
     To adjust the landing spot, press L2 or R2 to shift the AV8B left or 
right.
     To check the landing spot, press down the right analogue for the down 
view.
     OTOH, when the AV8B is on the ground, hold R1 to accelerate and take 
off vertically.

   - Mission SP1 conditions.

     In Mission 04, choose a fighter that is both fast and stable, because 
the faster the player clears a mission, the better the evaluation.
     During the mission, the player does not need to deliberately 
accelerate. Do not over-decelerate, and keep an average speed of about 100.
     When the fighter lowers its landing gear and prepares to land, attempt 
to ignore the incoming fire, hold L1 to decelerate, and keep the fighter 
level with the ground. Land the fighter and enter the base.
     After the fighter enters the base, point the fighter at the door.
     After the fighter stops, the screen changes, and the fighter can egress 
the base. Destroy the door with the cannon and egress the base.
     While egressing, colliding the fighter with a wall will worsen the 
evaluation. Thus, after the fighter takes off, fly at minimal speed and 
climb slowly. If the fighter dives or stalls, avoid colliding the fighter 
with a wall.
     Fly carefully till the dialogue is complete, and the game changes to 
the evaluation screen.
     If unable to achieve Rank A, try easy difficulty and novice controls.

     If the player previously cleared Missions 06-1 and 06-2, the player 
must re-clear them, to unlock Mission SP1.
     In Mission 06-2, to destroy all enemies, first clear the Gepard and 
SA-15 Gauntlet (9K330 Tor, 9K331 Tor-M1) on the ground. Then destroy the 
F-16 Fighting Falcon and F/A-18E Super Hornet. Then destroy all factories.
