I've been a fan of the Shadow Hearts series for almost two years now. After playing through both Shadow Hearts, and Shadow Hearts: Covenant, I came to love the games and the series dearly, and I was engrossed by the characters and story of the games, and I just loved the battle system which introduced the Judgment Ring. Ever since the U.S release date for Shadow Hearts: From the New World was made public back in September or October, I've been waiting for the game to come out. Finally, after the wait, I have my hands on the game and I'm hoping I enjoy it like I enjoyed the first two games. Like my previous walkthroughs before, I'm going to only focus on the main walkthrough itself first before adding in any other sections. I would appreciate it if you didn't send me any e-mails until the main walkthrough is done. =================== 2.) Walkthrough =================== NOTE: There are possible spoilers in this guide, so read at your own risk. The game opens up with a nice opening movie. The scene shifts to Johnny in his office, and a big ol' oaf who looks fimiliar. Those of you that played Shadow Hearts: Covenant will recognize that big lug as Lenny. A creepy old man comes in, and asks you to find a certain person. Once you gain control, head back into Johnny's office and grab the chest near the door. Head straight for another chest, and then go up the stairs and examine the wall near the bed for another item. Exit and use the save point out here. Check the vase across from the save point for another item. Go down the stairs and a scene about Johnny will come up, explaining a few things about his past. You'll then be outside. Go to the left and talk to the little boy and he'll tell you about Times Square. Exit town and choose Times Square. ============== TIMES SQUARE ============== (001) Head down the path here, and check behind the Times sign for an item. Along the way, you'll notice a store. Those of you that have played SH:C will recognize the name of the shop; Geppetto and Cornelia. For those of you that haven't played it. Geppetto was a playable character in SH:C and Cornelia was his puppet that used magic spells, depending on the dress she wore. Anyways, keep going and you'll trigger a scene with a motorcycle coming your way and two men get out of it. One of the men, Gerard, or Gerry, as his lover likes to call him, starts calling you Johnny Baby. Gerry will give you a Point Card and the other man (his name slips my mind at the moment) will give you a Stellar Chart. It'll automatically be equipped to Johnny with a couple of spells already attacked. Talk to Gerard to buy a couple of Thera Leaves. Head straight now and at the corner of Geppetto and Cornelia is a chest. Talk to the NPCs in this area, and one of them should give you a hint about where the person you're looking for might be. All I know that the NPC is walking. When given the hint, exit to the World Map and choose Chelsea. ============== CHELSEA ============== (002) Head straight ahead and talk to the man that's staring at the Theater. He'll tell you what happened to him, and Johnny will get all excited. Save your game and head to the left side and examine the door to enter. Once inside, a few little tips will be pointed out, including when you push R1, a mini map will appear. It may not look like it, but it's VERY useful. Follow the path here until you reach the next screen. Here, examine the bottom left corner for a Mana Leaf. Keep going and you'll eventually find a couple of thugs that pincer Johnny, and you'll be in your first fight. Players that have played the previous Shadow Hearts game can go ahead and skip the tutorial, as the battle system is the same as before (notice how the ring is bigger and brighter, though?). First time Shadow Hearts players should watch the tutorial. One thing to note if you fight this battle, though. Johnny's SP is very low, so always keep an eye on it, as Johnny tends to miss from time to time. Once the fight is over, follow the path until you go up some stairs. Once you go up a bit, you'll trigger a scene with a little girl who's lost, and she got seperated from her brother. Of course, since you're a detective, you agree to help find her brother. Advance to the right, and you'll be rushed by a couple more thugs. You'll get the Stock tutorial this time. Watch it if you want. After the fight, a glistening object will be on the ground. Johnny examines it and you'll have a Cure stellar. You'll then be given another choice for a tutorial, but this time, it's for the Stellar Charts. Watch it if you want. If you do, the Cure stella will automatically be equipped. If not, equip it yourself. Go to the right from here and take the first left you see. Examine the chest at the end and head through the doors here. Defeat the thug in here and open the chest. Exit and go back down and to the right. Go through the door you come across and head to the right for another thug guarding a chest. Open the chest and leave. Go to the right and left, down the stairs. Defeat the thug here and go down the stairs. Examine the area where the thug was to find an item. Go back up and left and head up the stairs. Take the first left and defeat the thug guarding the save point. Use it and head back down and go to the right. Go through the double doors here and go to the right to find a chest. Go back out the doors and go to the right until you reach a chest. Go back to the left and go up when you get the chance for another thug. Defeat the thug and go through the door he was guarding. Go down and to the left to find a little boy. Seems like it's that girls brother. After the scene, fight the battle here and head back to the girl. They'll run off. Head back to where the save point is. Save your game and examine the door. You'll be outside. Go left and up through the fire escape. Go right and open the door. You'll find the man you're looking for, Marlow Brown. Marlow tries to explain to you what happened after he recognizes who you are, but a portal like thing opens up behind Marlow. A monster comes out and eats Marlow. Soon, a winged woman comes crashing through the window, and we're in our first boss fight. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | DEEP ONE | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 170 | ??? | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Water | O--------------------O -You'll be controlling Shania in this fight instead of Johnny. The fight isn't all that hard. Just make sure that the Deep One doesn't get any double attacks in and you'll be fine. ----------------------------- After the fight, Johnny looks up in amazement, and then faints. A cutscene then shows a red haired man holding a bullet wound on his chest. A mysterious woman then appears, appears to give something to the man through his mouth, and slaughters the cops. ============== UPPER WEST SIDE ============== (003) Johnny wakes up and has the situation explained to him. The tall man next to Shania is Natan. Shania says that it'd be best if she explained to Professor Gilbert what happened to Marlow, as she can probably explain it better. Exit and save your game if you want. As you leave, a man will confront you, talking about "that thing". He then gives you a lottery ticket to play the lottery, and offers you to play the lottery. Take him up on his offer. Try to land on the Gale Rod. If not, that's okay. You can always comes back later. Exit, and choose Arkham University on your world map. ============== ARKHAM UNIVERSITY ============== (004) Head straight forward to find a man in a blue suit. He'll ask you about Professor Gilbert, and then tread off. Examine the statue ahead of you for an item. Before heading inside, there a couple of other things to do. Head to the right to the next screen. You'll trigger a scene with a Drill Sergant. He'll give you a Pedometer. Now go back to the left and enter the university. Go through the left door which leads to the library. Examine the bookshelves until you find a Cure Stellar. Exit and head through the right door now. Examine the right shelf for an item. Head back through the door. Go up the stairs and go through the left door. There's a chest behind the back row. Find it and open it. Head to the front of the class and talk to the man wearing an orange vest. He'll mention Professor Gilbert and his research room being sealed off. Examine the southwest corner now to find an item. Now exit the room and head back downstairs and exit the University. Go left to the next screen. Check behind the lightpost to the left for another chest. Try to open the door here and you'll find out it's locked. Shania comments that someone may know something how on how to get to the lab. Go back inside the University. Go back up the stairs and enter the right door. Head to the other side of the screen and talk to the person here and you'll bring up there's a secret passageway to reach Gilbert's lab, but it's dark and you'll need a lamp of sorts. Head back down to the chemistry lab and take the lantern off the desk at the other side of the screen. Leave the university and Gerard and Buigen (Ha. Remembered it.) will show up. Buigen will explain he can upgrade your Stellar Charts. You'll then get the option of viewing the tutorial or not. View it if you want. Shop from Gerard now. Buy any items you may need. Use the save point and go to the right and down the slope. Examine the odd looking structure against the wall and it'll open. ============== ARKHAM UNIVERSITY: UNDERGROUND ============== (005) Go forward and to the left. Go left and you'll fight a battle where the Combo tutorial will be available. Beat the enemies. Once they're gone, keep going to the left and go downstairs. Keep going to the left and you'll eventually reach a door. Go through it. There's a huge door here. It's locked, and Shania suggestst to go look for a key. Go to the left and through the door. Go left and up. You'll eventually run into a door. Examine the lever and the door will lower. Keep going forward and go left. Ignore the monsters and go to the left. Johnny will pull down another lever, releasing all the monsters that were being kept inside. Defeat them. Go down and flip the lever here. Go left for a chest and flip another lever to lower the door. Continue to the left. Go down until you reach a fork. Go left and then up to find a lever. Defeat the monsters and enter the cage and examine around for a chest. It may be a bit hard to see, but it's there. Now go down and right until you reach the fork again. Go up at the fork and continue going up until you reach another fork. Go right at the fork and lower the lever. Don't go through. Turn around and go left to reach another lever. Lower it and defeat the monsters. Examine the chest inside the cage. Use the save point by the door and open it. You'll trigger a scene with the man in the blue suit, releasing the monsters, and then pulling a flag over himself, hoping to hide. Johnny and the others enter to find the monsters hitting him. They then turn their attention on Johnny. Defeat them and the man in the blue suit will tell you that he was hiding. Soon, the man will introduce himself as Frank and Johnny says they need a key to find Gilbert. Frank says he knows how to unlock the door and tags along with your party. Enter back into the room where you found Frank and examine around for an item. Now exit and head back to the big locked door. Frank will use one of his unlocking "techniques", where a key just comes falling out of his chest plate. Go through the door. Go up the stairs and go left and up some more stairs. Head to the north and up some more stairs to find a save point. Go left and up some more stairs. Examine under the table for a chest. Go through the left door here. You'll find Gilbert studying something, and he'll then realize the parties presence. Gilbert admits to creating those monsters. Johnny asks Gilbert if he was involved with the Window opening behind Marlow, and Gilbert says he wasn't involved. Soon, Gilbert opens up a window, and Gilbert runs for it before another monster comes out of the window. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | IGNORAK | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 500 | 125 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Dark | O--------------------O -This fight is much tougher than the fight with Deep One. His attacks can do nearly 30 damage to a single character, and one double attack from Ignorak can possibly mean a death. It's important to keep an eye on Johnny's SP in this fight, as it'll run out quickly. Ignorak can also Poison. Have Shania use Thunderbird and use either a Combo or Double attack with Shania. If Ignorak's Stock is getting close to being full, use a Hard Hit to knock it back down to 0. It'd be best if you used Johnny as a healer in this fight. Natan should also use Double if he has the stock for it, as should Frank. Just make sure Johnny doesn't go Berserk and have anyone else use any items if they need to and you'll be able to take him out. ----------------------------- You'll be on the world map. Enter the Upper West Side. ============== UPPER WEST SIDE ============== (006) The party learns more about Gilbert, and Frank brings up that his master may know something about Gilbert and where he's hiding out at. However, Frank has no idea where his master is. Shania then brings up she wants to go to the Grand Canyon to get something. Leave the agency now. Upon going outside, a boy will run up and tell Johnny he saw a ghost. Go to the left and examine the left side of the dumpster to find the Ring Spirit. Johnny and the Ring Spirit will chat, and the Ring Spirit will notice the Ring Fragment that the boy gave Johnny. In exchange for it, Johnny gets an Attack Boost, which adds one more hit area on any of your characters Rings. You'll then get a tutorial option of how to customize your Ring. Watch it if you want. When ready, exit and head for the Grand Canyon. ============== GRAND CANYON ============== (007) Shania will tell Johnny she wanted to come to the Grand Canyon because she wants to borrow a fusion spirit. Once you regain control, go to the right and examine around the area for an item. Go back to the left and go down the slope and onto the next screen. Continue down and you'll find the Gada Village. Use the save point near the first Tepee. Open the chest near the save point as well. At the other side of the village, Gerard and Buigen are there with new items in stock. Upgrade your equipment as needed and restock on items if you need to. Examine to the left of the two bikers to find a cactus. Examine it and Frank will examine the cactus. For those of you that have played Covenant, you'll recognize the music playing here and the weird atmosphere. For those new comers to the series, this is what happened whenever one of the characters from SH:C, Joachim, found a weapon on the ground or standing in the street or sidewalk. Once you get the weapon, examine in front of Gerard and Buigen for a chest. Now, go back down and do the right and enter the Tepee here to find Nvwot. He'll mention something about UMA, which is something Natan will do to gain more GUN-FU skills. Each time you capture a UMA monster, Natan will get a new GUN-FU skill. You'll get some items and a notice of the first UMA, Sasquatch. Exit and enter the Tepee that's all circular like. Open the chest and talk to the man in the tent. Shania asks about the Ocean and Earth spirits. Zanda mentions that the Earth spirit isn't too far from here. You'll then recieve a few items, one of them being a statue. A tutorial option will then come up, asking if you want to view the tutorial on Soul Charge. Exit and go save your game. Head north and keep going until you reach two Totem Poles. A voice will boom out of one, telling that you need to pass a trial in order to advance and it tells you to look at the Murals around the area. Go left and examine the Mural here. Keep in mind the pictures. Open the chest and head back to the Totem Poles. It will ask you a question on the Mural you saw. The questions are totally random. Answer correctly, and you'll be able to pass. Answer incorrectly, and you'll be warped back to the beginning of the screen, but you don't need to view the Murals again. Once you answer correctly, head onto the next screen. Open the chest on the side. Keep going and a discussion between Natan and Johnny will occur aboud the Spirits that Shania's seeking. Keep going to find two more Totem Poles. It's the same as before, only there are more murals this time around. Go to the right and examine the mural of a sheep. Go to the right still and examine the mural of two people. Keep in mind of the number of animals and people you come across on the murals. Go to the right again and examine the right side of the path for a chest. Keep going to the right and examine the two Murals here. Head back and go to the left and examine the mural here. Keep going down the path here and take a left at the fork. Examine the mural here and open the chest. Go to the right for one last mural. Head back to where the Totem Poles are at, and answer the question. Head to the next screen. Just a small hint, both the answers to the questions are Seven. Use the save point and head to the Totem Poles again. Again, you'll need to find a couple more Murals. Go left and at the fork, go north and then to the left. Open the chest and turn around and head to the right and a little meat icon will appear over Johnny's head. This is where a UMA is. Put down a Honey and you'll be attacked by a Sasquatch. HAVE JOHNNY SNAP IT. It's a tough fight, but not too tough in which your life will be threatened. After getting the UMA, go south and head to the left. Examine the mural and keep going left. Hug along the right to find an item here. Now go south and right and go all the way to the right for another mural and chest. Examine the mural and head back to the Totem Poles. Answer the question, and advance forward. You'll come across an altar type of place, and Shania advances forward alone. The Earth spirit, Tatan'ka, comes out to greet Shania. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | TATAN'KA | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 200 | ??? | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Earth | O--------------------O -Fuse into Thunderbird with Shania and use a Hard Hit to knock off it's Stock. Tatan'ka hits hard, so make sure to keep an eye on your HP. Use Double if you have the stock (avoid using Bar Rod), or just use Physical Attacks. Just keep an eye on your health and chip away at Tatan'Ka's health. ----------------------------- An FMV will occur, and Shania will fuse into Tatan'Ka. After that, a ninja will suddenly appear, telling Frank something, and then disappear again. Seems like Frank's master is in Chicago. You'll then be back at Upper West Side. Shania wakes up, and you're left to head to Chicago. Before that, go back to the Grand Canyon and report the UMA to Nvwoti for a new GUN-FU skill. Now head for Chicago. ============== CHICAGO ============== (008) Frank will bring up about how the Mafia has probably chased off his Subordinates. Go south for a save point. Keep going down and then head left to find Gerard and Buigen. Also talk to the man in front of the building and he'll tell you that the current boss of Chicago is a big cat. Shop from Gerard if you want, and head across from them to find a chest. Head back to the intersection of where you entered, and go left. Keep going left and head south. Keep going down to find a chest. Head up the stairs in this area and go through the door. Examine the barrels for an item. Exit and head back to the intersection. Go south and talk to the man a bit south from the save point to play the lottery. Try to get the Pisces Stellar Chart if you can. Head back down to where Gerard and Buigen are, and enter the building next to them. Head up and go right into the second booth and talk to the gangsters in here. Al Capone (that's right, the famous Gangster Al Capone) is in jail and the McManus family is making a run for Chicago. Exit. Head back to the intersection and go left and south and you'll run into a few mobsters. This fight can be annoying due to the Ring Status Effects they put on your characters, but you can manage. The mobsters will realize they made a boo-boo and allow you into the VIP room of the nightclub. Go back to the intersection and head to the north and talk to the man on the right sidewalk. He'll mention your camera and mention he's a Snap Trader. Trade any cards you can, and go a bit north and examine around for a chest. Head into the nightclub. Don't go up the stairs yet. Head north to where the jazz is playing, and look for a lady sitting alone at a table. Examine the front end of that table for a chest. Now go back to the stairs, and go up them and talk to the person outside. As you go in, Johnny learns who's been the boss of Chicago since Al Capone went to jail. You'll then be introduced to the boss of Chicago, a huge, white, drinking cat named Mao. Johnny explains the situation and Mao agrees to help on one condition. She wants them to break Capone out of jail. Edna comes in, and asks the party to watch Ricardo play. Mao tells them to have a fun time tonight, as the plan won't take place until tomorrow. The scene switches to Ricardo playing (quite a nice tune, too). After the scene, Ricardo goes over to Edna and asks who the people are. Soon, everyone parts, and a scene with Edna occurs, with some gangsters from the McManus family taking her. Once in control, head back into Mao's room and examine around for a chest. Now to find your other party members. To find Natan, exit the nightclub and head directly south to the intersection. He may be a bit hard to see, but Natan is on the left portion of the intersection. Talk with him. To find Frank, go left at the intersection and then south. Go up the stairs and through the door to find Frank, who runs away all funky like. Head back to the Nightclub and find Mao. A cutscene occurs with Al Capone and Eliot Ness. If there's one thing I love about the Shadow Hearts series, is that they take real life people, and place them into completely fictional events. The scene then shifts to Edna and the head of the McManus family. He wants her to be his girl, but she says that she wants to be Ricardo. Hearing this, he pulls out his gun and shoots her. Watch the rest of the scene and head to Alcatraz Prison. ============== ALCATRAZ PRISON ============== (009) Head through the sewers and go up the stairs. Use the save point and go to the left. Once inside, go up the stairs and go to the left. Head down and examine the corner for an item. Go back up and down a little for a door. Head down here to find a couple of security guards. Examine the cell near the door for a chest. Keep going down to find a few more security guards. Go south and check the chest near the door. Go through the door and you'll find Capone, ready to be whacked from a hitman, until Mao runs in and kicks the hitman. The alarm is set off, and we're off to escape. You'll get an option for a tutorial on Battle Teams. Head back into Capones Cell for a save point. Exit and head through the left and a few monsters will attack you. Beat them and go through the door. Go left and up and hug along the right side for an item. Head up the stairs of the left cell block, and head to the right. Keep going for another item. Now go back down and go up the stairs on the right cell block. Take the left path and keep going for yet another item. Now go back down and head back to the direction of Capone's cell, and someone will call out to Johnny. The prisoner explains to Johnny that the door leading out of here is indeed a metal detector. The prisoner agrees to help Johnny bypass the detector if he can get him a spoon from the cafeteria. Head down and left until you see some doors at the bottom of the screen. Go through them and go to the right and examine around here for a spoon. Exit and head back to the prisoner, Smith, to give him the spoon. He'll then give you the insulating sheet. Head to the metal detector, and head through. If you look around the cells, you'll eventually find Gerard and Buigen. How they got in jail, I don't even want to know. Still, buy something from Gerard. Go to the stairs of the right cell block and look behind them for an item. Keep going right, but don't go up the stairs. Examine the right corner for an item. Turn around and go all the way left, ignoring the stairs. Go down and open the chest around here. Go back and head through the double doors at the northern section. Head north and through the door. A scene will trigger, with the door being shutdown (it's an electric door.) Seems like we need to restore power. Examine the chest next to the door to find an item. Use the save point if you need to. Head to the right and open the door to find the control room. If you examine the breakers, they've all been blown, and we don't know how to get them up and running again. Mao tells Johnny to find someone who may know how to find it. Backtrack to the lower cell block where Smith is. He'll give you information on the breakers, and wants you to deliver a message to Murdock. To find Murdock, head to the upper right cell block area, above Gerard and Buigen. Talk with him and Murdock will give you information on the Breakers, and ask you to deliver the same message to Peck. To find Peck, head for the lower left cell block on the second floor. Talk with him and he'll give you another piece of information on the Breakers. Peck will then ask Johnny to deliver the message to Baracus. To find Baracus, head back to the jailcell lines leading to the sewers. Talk with Baracus, and after a bit of a stare down, he'll give you information on the Breakers. Now that we have our information, it's time to activate them. Head back to where the Breakers are and examine them. In order to restore power, you'll need to flip the correct switches that activate the Breakers. In simple terms, see the numbers on the right? You need to add up the numbers that total the number on the right. The first line is the following: 1 2 3 4 5 6 = 15 To activate the breaker, you'll need to flip the numbered switches that add up to 15, so flip 1,2,3,4 and 5. 1+2 = 3. 3+3 = 6. 6+4 = 10. And 10+5 = 15. The second line is the following: 6 5 4 3 2 1 = 7 To activate the breaker, you'll need to flip 6 and 1. The third line is the following: 1 2 3 4 5 6 = 10 To activate the breaker, you'll need to flip 2,3, and 5. Once you do this, the breakers will be activated. Head to the electric door and use the save point. Head through the door to find who's causing all the commotion, which is Edna. A window appears behind her during her excitement, and a monster comes crawling out. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | RONWEI | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 700 | 256 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Fire | O--------------------O -Have Johnny snap a picture, and have Shania fuse into whichever fusion you want. Make sure to hard hit Ronwei before your turn is up so he doesn't get a double attack in. Use a combo right off the bat on your next turn to knock off some decent damage. Have Johnny act as your healer, and keep an eye on his SP. Have whoever else is in your party attack hard after the combo, and he should fall soon. ----------------------------- After beating it, head to Chicago. ============== CHICAGO ============== (010) Upon entering, Mao suggests to go to Roswell, where Gilbert used to work. Examine Capone's office for an item, and exit. Mao says she wants to go somewhere real quick. ============== PURRAMOUNT PICTURES ============== (011) Awwww. Isn't that a cute city name. Once you enter, Mao will have a discussion, and learn her Cat Touch skill. With it, you'll earn Cat Coins that come into play during Mao's sidequest. Now, for our next destination, head for Roswell. ============== ROSWELL ============== (012) Upon entering, you'll be treated with a scene featuring a pink bat, and everyone's favorite old broken down fart, Roger Bacon. However, I can't really say I like the new VA for Roger. The party will venture into Roswell and immediately notice the object sticking out of the hotel roof. Apparently, it's the spaceship that the aliens were driving. Once in control, save your game and go talk to the woman to the left side of the screen standing by a truck to play the lottery. Try to win the Blood Loss 1. Go back to the save point and examine the bus stop near the save point for a new weapon for Frank. Enter the hotel. Examine the table on the right for an item. If you look at the back of the hotel, you'll recognize that vending machine from Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant. Use it to upgrade your weapons and armor and buy a few items if you need them. Leave the hotel and go to the right to the next screen. Head up and you'll get into a little chat with the security guard. Soon, you'll have to go back to the other screen. Talk to the man standing next to the signpost and he'll bring up that a truck comes by every so often that goes into the lab. Mao suggests that the party should sneak onto the truck and head into the lab. So head back to the right and the truck will pull up, and you'll get a free ride into the lab. ============== ROSWELL: LAB ============== (013) Head up the ramp and go to the right. Examine around for a chest. Go back down the ramp and go through the corridor for a save point. Save your game and continue on. You'll eventually run into one of the researchers, and he'll mistake Johnny and the others as the new guys. The researcher will then go on and brag about his security system, about how it's split up into three sectors. Each sector requires a keycard, and the researcher will give you one. Examine the upper right area on this screen for an item. Now go to the left and exit this room. Johnny will hear two people talking in another room. Johnny enters the room, and spots a chubby piece of work inside the tube, and Roger as well. Hilda, the girl, asks Johnny to rescue her. Once Johnny says he has no clue on how to, Hilda shatters the glass, and asks him again. Hilda and Roger decide to tag along with Johnny and the others, and Hilda now joins your party. Hilda can't be switched out, so set your party up the way you feel is the best way. Check the left tubes for a chest, and head up to leave the room. Go to the right and keep going until you stumble across a door. Grab the chest and open the door here. Talk to the researchers here, and Hilda will fool the two researchers with her innocent looking eyes. You'll recieve the second keycard. Go down and to the right for an item. Talk to the other researcher in this room, and keep the word GRAY in mind. Go through the door behind the researcher and go up and to the right corner for an item. Go back through the door and through the door in the room with the researchers. Follow the path and take a left. Open the door here. A Pink Ninja will be in here, and Frank calls out to her. Seems like she and Frank are buddies. After some cohersive thinking, the Ninja, Britney, gives Frank an order that she was supposedly assigned. Examine the left set of tubes for an item, and the right corner of the door for the third keycard. Backtrack to where you first met Hilda and Roger and head down. Go left and you'll be in a room with a couple of tanks. Examine the blue tank and a scene will occur with Frank learning a new skill. Examine the boxes for another item. Go talk to the researcher in here, and keep the word LITTLE in mind. Also grab the chest. Now backtrack to the room where you found Britney. Head through the door this time and go to the left for a chest. Talk to the researchers, and keep the word MEN in mind. Exit the room, and go down and right until you reach an intersection. At the intersection, go up and go through the door on the left. Head all the way to the left to find Gerard and Buigen. Grab any items from Gerard if you need any. Also grab the chest in here. Follow the wall to the right and you'll go through an opening. Follow the path for an item. Now go back and save your game if you want. Go up the stairs and Morrison's brother will think Johnny are the intruders. Hilda comes to the rescue with her innocent looking eyes again. You'll then learn that the motherboard requires 3 words to activate the password. Go left and down. Grab the chest here and backtrack up to the huge computer monitor with an empty chair in front of it. You'll then be prompted to put in the password. The first part of the password is LITTLE. The second part of the password is GRAY. And the second part of the password is MEN. If you don't know what it means, it's referring to Roger. The elevator is now open for business. Exit the room and go to the right and use the elevator. Go to the left and save your game. Before advancing any further, make sure to put any offensive magic you have on your characters. Once you think you're ready, advance and a scene will occur. Hilda can't control her hunger and jumps on Johnny, sucking his blood. Hilda is then revealing in her thin form, calling Johnny tasty. A robot fighting thing comes out, and Hilda decides it's time to repay the favor for Johnny rescuing her. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | PROCYON | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 1110 | 300 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Wind | O--------------------O -Only magic attacks will work on this boss, so hopefully you have some magic that can hard hit Procyon to knock off his stock. Procyon can also inflict you with Reverse Ring and Tight Ring. If you're not a perfectionist by not hitting the strike areas all the time, this shouldn't bother you. Use Red Nova to knock off Procyon's stock when it gets a bit high. Fusing Shania into Tatan'ka and using Rock Bump will work wonders in this fight. Rock Bump with anyone else will be just as effective. Johnny or Hilda should be your main healer, and keep a close eye on Johnny's and Shania's SP, as this fight will last quite a bit. Keep your health, SP, and MP up, and you'll come out on top. ----------------------------- After the fight, the head researcher comes out, lying on the ground. Hilda goes over, and decides to get a bit friendly with him, which results in her just stomping on him over and over again. Johnny then goes over and asks about Gilbert. The researcher says that Gilbert left for Chitchen Itza in Mexico. Natan suggests that you guys take a boat. You'll then be back on the world map. Choose Upper West Side. ============== UPPER WEST SIDE ============== (014) Johnny asks Lenny about the boat, and Lenny tells you to rest for the night, and that everyone else is welcome to spend the night as well. Later, Lenny spots Hilda, and is apparently shocked by her form, since he didn't realize it was her. You'll then get an explaination of Hilda's Calorie system, and an explainaion of Hilda's Weekly Arts, which enables her to learn more skills. Morning will come. Leave the agency and the kid will run up, claiming that he really saw a ghost this time. Go back to find the Ring Spirit, who introduces herself as Aya. Those with sharp minds will recognize Aya as the daughter from the Ring Spirit in Shadow Hearts: Covenant. Exit Upper West Side, and choose Chitchen Itza. ============== CHITCHEN ITZA ============== (015) Oopsies Poopsies. Looks like we got caught by Pirates. ============== CARIBBEAN PIRATE FORT ============== (016) Seems like Johnny and the others are in jail, the the Pirates leader, Anne, comes to give them a visit, and a bit of an interrogation. Anne will enter the cell, and you'll be able to choose who you want to interrogate. Whenever you pick someone, you'll be asked a set of three questions, with three possible answers to each question. Like in Veronica's tortue scene in Covenant, the answers you choose will determine the item you get. If you choose the first choice every time, you'll get a Third Key. If you choose the second choice every time, you'll get a weapon for the character being interrogated. Choose whichever path you want, and you'll then be thrown back into jail. Natan decides to pick up the jailcell and just lay it onto a rock. Well, that would've been nice if we could've done that before the interrogation. Upon exiting your cell, Johnny will find a chest containing all your parties equipment. It'll be automatically equipped. Head back into your cell and open the chest to recieve an item. Check the bowl in here too for another item. Head to the save point and save your game. Head up the ramp and enter the house here to encounter the chef. He brings up the ocean shrine. Examine the room for an item. Exit and head to the right and check around the area for another item. Head into the cave and keep going to find two guards that are guarding a boat. Exit, and go back to the save point and go south from it and go around the bend until you reach the next screen. Grab the chest behind the barrel and examine it to find someone sleeping. The sleeping man is supposed to go on guard duty next, but with the ghosts and whatnot in the ship, he doesn't want to. Johnny agrees to go on duty for him, and then he goes back to napping. Head back into the cave and the two guards will leave. Head down to the boat and ride it over to the ship. ============== CARIBBEAN PIRATE FORT: SHIP ============== (017) Use the save point here and head up the stairs to be on the deck of the ship. Head to the right and you'll encounter a scene in which the floor has given away, and you can't cross. However, if you can lower the boat above you, you'll be able to cross, but you can't get it down just yet. Examine around for an item and then go back to the left and examine the hatch door to go down back into the ship. Go to the left and up and examine around for a chest. Go back to the right and go past the ladder. A bit down is a chest. Go to the right and keep going to the right. You'll find Gerard and Buigen in this room, which is kinda creepy, since they're both alone in the darkness. Shop from Gerard and continue to the right. Go through the opening and you'll find a path to the Ocean Spirit shrine, but there's no way to get there yet. Once back inside, go up and to the left through the hole in the wall. Go up the ramp and examine the deck brush. The handle should be sturdy enough to get the boat down. Backtrack to the deck of the ship, and go back to the boat hanging in the air. Examine the object by it and you'll stick the handle inside the little slot, lowering the boat. Go across and open the door. Cross the room and open the chest in the southeast corner. Head south for an opening in the wall and go south again. Go to the right and rotate the Helm. The rudder will move, allowing access to the Ocean Spirit shrine. Make your way back to the deck, and you'll eventually find Anne and some other pirates, being surrounded by some ghosts. Johnny and the others come, and they get rushed by the ghosts. Defeat them. Now go back down into the ship, and head all the way to the right. Use the save point here and head on. Shania will wander off ahead of you, and our next fight is about to begin. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | LA SIRENE | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 305 | ??? | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | None | O--------------------O -Fuse Shania into whoever you want, and use Hard Hit to start the battle off. La Sirene isn't necessarily a threat, as her attacks don't hit hard. However, she can use Fake Ring, so watch out for that. You should only need to heal only once in this fight, if any time at all, so just lay waste. ----------------------------- After the fight, Shania will get a new fusion. You'll then be in Anne's room. She'll explain why she thought you were robbers. Someone comes for Mao, and tells her that Al Capone has left for Las Vegas, looking for McManus. You'll be on the world map, and Las Vegas will appear. Before heading there, go back to the Caribbean Pirate Fort to get a couple of items. Head for Anne's room and examine around for a few items. There's a chest south of Anne's room. Go up the stairs on the right for another chest. Outside of Anne's room is a lottery member. Try to win the Whale Statue. When ready, enter Las Vegas. ============== LAS VEGAS ============== (018) Head up the stairs, and before venturing into the hotel, go to the right to find a chest containing the Hawk Statue. Go back and if you look to the left, you'll find Gerard's and Buigen's bike, but no sign of the two. Now where oh where could they have gone off to. Enter the hotel. After the secne, try to ride the elevator and you'll be denied. Head down and examine around the Piano for a Lottery Ticket. Now go to the right for a save point, and go through the doors here. Go down and examine around for a chest containing a Seal of Strength. Head to the right for another chest that has a Ring Fragment in it. Near one of the tables is also Gerard and Buigen (look for the leather jackets). Talk with Gerard to upgrade your equipment if you need to and stock up on items. Head above the employee and head through the door. Upon investigating the corridor, Mao will overhear some of McManus's men in one of the rooms. Go through the upper right door for a fight. Make sure to get some snapshots. Once they're gone, you'll get Room Key 818. The scene switches to Ricardo, and then you'll be in control again. Backtrack to the elevator, and take a ride to the 8th floor. Once you arrive, go to the right to find some gangsters. Once defeated, go to the right and enter the second to last door. Upon entering, Mao comes in and kicks the gangsters, saving Ricardo. You'll be taken to the Battle Team menu. Ricardo has to stay in, so choose whoever else you want (this is where I put together my main team of Johnny, Shania, Mao, and Ricardo), but the choice is yours. Defeat the next set of gangsters. Ricardo will then get an item, revealing a tutorial on Ricardo's Muse Items. Examine the obect on the ground for Room Key 422. Exit the room, and Mao will point out that something doesn't feel right. Random encounters start happening now, so don't let your guard down. Now head for the elevator, and choose to go to the 4th floor. Head to the right for another fight with some more gangsters. Once defeated, advance to the right. Between two of the signs you come across, there's a chest down and between them. Open it for a Pure Seed. Keep going to the right and go up. Investigate the lower left door and open it. Defeat the gangsters in here and then check around the plant for an Angel Souffle. Exit the room and go through the door straight across. Head into the room and open the chest for Room Key 903. Backtrack to the elevator, and head for the 9th floor. Go down and left and enter the first door. After you waste the gangsters, go examine the desk to find Room Key 4??. Backtrack to the elevator and head for the 4th floor. Go left and examine Room 406. Open it and open the chest in here that contains a Rock Burst Stellar. Head back for the 9th floor. Go down and right and open the bottom right door. Defeat the gangsters in here, and a scene with Al Capone triggers, and they start to raid the hotel. Once in control, grab the chest thta contains Room Key 1004. If you have to restock on items, do so now. Once ready, head for the elevator and go to the 10th floor. Use the save point here and go down and left for a chest containing a Thera Root. Open the door near the save point and examine the plant for an Arc Barrier Stellar. Equip it, as this will come in handy very soon. Exit the room and advance to the right to fight another group of gangsters. Once defeated, if you wish, go back to save your game. Head through the doors. You find McManus, who has his cronies surround Johnny and the others. Soon, Al Capone comes in and an explosion happens in the room Johnny is in. Edna appears, startling Ricardo and McManus. Shania points out that Edna is infected with Malice, and Edna begs for Ricardo to kill her before she turns into a monster. With those words, Edna summons a Window behind her. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | MALICE EDNA | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 1670 | 404 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Water | O--------------------O -First thing you should do is knock off her stock. Have Johnny snap on his first turn, unless he's equipped with Arc Barrier. If he is, use it now. Malice Edna leaves no room for any errors, so get those stat boosts up on your first turn. Shania should fuse as usual. If you've raised Shania's Tatan'ka fetishes up enough, she may have Arc Rage. If so, use it. If not, don't worry. Edna focuses solely on magic and status effects. Edna has the ability to cast Mental Break on your party, which decreases MP every turn by anyone that's effected by it. Edna's main attack, however, is Black Hole, which will hurt anyone who doesn't have Arc Barrier on. The damage itself can reach up to 100 if the character doesn't have a Barrier on them. Have Ricardo use his Serenata skill, and choose Melody: Rage for some damage. Combo whenever you get an opening. Just have someone on healing duty, and keep an eye on Edna's Stock, and she'll eventually fall. Just make sure to get some snapshots. ----------------------------- After the battle, Edna collapses, and Edna and Ricardo say their last words until Edna dies. McManus slowly backs away, until he bumps into Capone's legs. Capone then takes his gun, and shoots McManus. The scene switches to Gilbert, Killer, and Lady. After the following scenes, choose Chitchen Itza on the world map. ============== CHITCHEN ITZA ============== (019) Head up the long set of stairs to enter the ruins. Once you enter, use the save point if you want. Head up the right set of stairs to find Gerard and Buigen. Upgrade your equipment if you need to or restock on items. Head back down and take the left set of stairs this time. A scene will trigger. Johnny will step on the blue tile, which lights up the others. The door then closes. The point here is to quickly run to the end to get the chest before the door closes. Step on the tile again, and run to the chest which contains the Criminal's Skull. Also take the split path to the right in this corridor for a chest containing an Arc Heal Stellar. Head back to the center and examine the sealed door. Johnny will put the Criminal's Skull in the door, and it'll open. Head down the stairs. Head north and right. Keep going east, ignoring the split path to the north and then follow the path as it bends. Go down the stairs. Step on the tile here and get the chest containing a Seal of Speed. Examine behind the bottom right pillar for an Evil Shade Stellar. Head back up the stairs and follow the path back, and this time take the split path going north. Head up and to the left and go down the stairs. Step on the tile, and quickly head up the stairs and take the other path for a chest containing a Hit Area Expand. Go back down the stairs and continue down. Head to the right and then up and down the stairs to the left. Ope the chest behind the most right pillar on the second row for an Instant Death 1. Head to the left and step on the tile that's a bit northward from the other tile. Quickly run to the right for a chest containing the Warrior's Skull. Now head to the southern section and head a bit to the west for another tile. Step on it and head north for a chest containing an Arc Cure Stellar. Head up the stairs on the left and head south for a chest containing a Mana Extract. Head north and place the skull on the door to open it. Follow the path up and to the right, and then down again. Examine the left corner before the exit for a Lottery Ticket. Go down the stairs now. Head down and head up the right set of stairs. Go down and left for another tile. Step on it and follow the glowing tiles for a chest containing a Daphne Fruit. Head back down and then to the left through the pillars. There's another tile in this area. Step on it and follow the glowing tiles for a chest containing a Fruity Fiber. Head north and examine to the right of the save point for a chest containing Arc Shield. Hopefully you're good at running, because you're going to need to be quick. Step on the tile that's on the left side of the save point. Once you do, quickly step on the tile that's adjacent to the Save Point, and quickly run down and take a quick turn to the right once you get the chance and head down the stairs. Once at the bottom of the stairs, quickly head north and grab the chest containing the Royal Skull. The path up the left set of stairs is closed, go head up the right side and make your way around back to the save point. Save your game, and stick in the Royal Skull. Head down the stairs and you'll run into Professor Gilbert, Killer, and Lady. While Lady is busy up ahead, Killer steps in front of you with a surprise. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | JEB NIGAS | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 2020 | 382 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Light | O--------------------O -Knock off his stock as quickly as you can. One Double from ol' Jebby here can mean an instant and painful death to any character hit by it. As usual, have Johnny snap a few pictures of it. Make sure to cast Arc Shield, Arc Barrier, and if Shania's Thunderbird fusion has it, Arc Gale. Jeb's attacks are very powerful. About half the time, he'll use an attack called Wipeout which knocks off about 3/4's of a characters HP. Arc Barrier should reduce that damage. This fight is going to take a good awhile, so make sure to keep an eye on Johnny's SP. Jeb will also cast Seal from time to time, preventing you from casting any spells whatsoever. Use a combo if you get an opening, and have someone cast Evil Shade on Jeb over and over again to prevent his stock from going up. Just keep an eye on Johnny's (and possibly Shania's if she's in fusion mode for too long) SP and keep yourself healed with Arc Cure, and keep Seal off, and you'll come out on top. ----------------------------- Is it just me, or did Jeb Nigas look like a buffed up version of Atman from the first Shadow Hearts game? Anywho, the party will be collapsed on the ground, and Killer will be ready to finish you off until Lady steps in and stops him. Lady then leans in towards Shania, and before Johnny can see what happens, he passes out. Just a small note, you did recieve Exp, Cash, and Soul from Jeb, so don't worry about getting nothing. Once on the world map, select Rio de Janeiro. ============== RIO DE JANEIRO ============== (020) Once you enter Rio, everyone will split up. You'll get a cutscene explaining some more events. After the scene, use the save point near you. Head for the fountain and talk with the woman in front of it to do a small quiz. Answer 10 questions correctly to win a Warning Device, which is actually very useful. Head to the upper right section of Rio De Janerio to find a chest containing a Seal of Luck. Now head back down and to the left until you spot a red truck. Talk to the driver inside to find out that he's a Snap Trader. Examine around the post near Hilda for a Lottery Ticket as well. Head back up to the red truck and examine around the top of it for a Ring Fragment. Head down and talk to the woman standing around to play the Lottery. Now head down some more and examine the plants to the left of the fat man for a Hit Area Expand. Now head north onto the next screen. Examine the trashcans on the left for an Angel Souffle. Head up and take a right to find Gerard and Buigen. Upgrade your equipment and then head to the left to find Frank digging through the trash. Once you're done talking to Frank, check the drums by the two women for a Thera Root. Head back to the main part of Rio De Janerio and Frank will follow, saying he found an article. Hilda brings up the locals say the paper prints false information, so you're better off asking the direct source. Before going any further, head back up to the slums and head straight north and examine the Fireworks sticking out of the ground to get a new weapon for Frank. Now head back south and enter the building labeled Journal de Esporto de Rio de Janeiro. The editor of the paper will tell you that he took the picture of Killer and Lady at Machu Picchu. Once the scene is over, head back inside and examine the lockers on the right for an Evasion Down 2. Head to the left and examine the trash for a Lottery Ticket. Once ready, exit Rio de Janerio and enter Machu Picchu. ============== MACHU PICCHU ============== (021) Head down the stairs here and use the save point. Head for the door to trigger a small scene. Flip the right switch to enter the door after the scene. Head to the left for another scene, in which Frank will open up a chest containing a Golden Mask. This will show you which colored switches that you currently flipped. Flip the yellow switch and take the right door and open the chest at the end for an Angel Souffle. Head back and flip the blue switch. Head through the newly opened door on the left and head up the stairs here. Use the save point near you and a chest near the end of the broken down wall that has a Seal of Life. Examine the plants near the Save Point to find a Raise Up Stellar. Take the upper path and examine around the bottom right to find a Ring Fragment, and head all the way to the left for a chest containing a Thera Root. Turn around and head down the stairs to find Gerard and Buigen. Buy some items if you need them, as well as some Shell Bracelets. Make sure to have at least four. Open the chest near the stairs for a Seal of Aura. Examine the corner west of Gerard for a Lottery Ticket, and then take the next set of stairs down. Head to the left and activate the green switch, and then head down and activate the red switch. Head through the door and go down at the intersection and then take a right at the second intersection for a chest containing a Mana Root. Turn back around and head south and right and then activate the purple switch. Head north and go through the newly opened door for three chests containing a Pure Root, Sp-Defend Down 2, and an Entrance Stellar. Head back out and take a left and then south and left again and activate the yellow switch here. Head for the yellow/purple door and go through it. Activate the red and green switches again and take the door out. Head back to the yellow switch and activate it again, and then head to the right to activate the purple switch. Head through the yellow/purple door again but go up the stairs this time. Head back to where Gerard and Buigen are and go up the stairs and go left and down the stairs once you come across them. Activate the blue switch here and head back down and to the left and activate the yellow switch. Head north and when you reach the top, head to the left and go through the door here. At the intersection here, go down and right for a chest containing a Small Jug. Head back and go down the stairs. Use the save point here. You'll notice three different colored flames; Red, Blue, and Green. You won't be able to pass through them as long as they're active. Head directly north to trigger a scene. Head left and then up and trigger the red switch here. The red flames will disappear. Go back down and go right past the green fire and then up to find a chest containing a Gale Blast Stellar. Now go down to find yourself back at the center. Head to the right and head up and activate the blue switch here. The blue flames will disappear, but the red flames will kick up again. Head up and go around the path and once you reach the exit protected by the green flames, head down to go back to the center. Go left for a chest containing a Thera Root. Go back to the center and head to the right and go down and activate the green switch. Head back to the center and go down and right and right again and then down a bit for a chest containing a Rock Burst Stellar. Head back to the save point and save your game. Head directly north and head down the stairs to find Gilbert. He'll open up a window behind him, which leaves you in a fight. Once the enemies are defeated, Shania will run off on her own. Johnny tries to follow her, but the monsters block his path. You'll then be brought to the battle teams menu. Make a new party of 4 and once you exit the menu, you'll be taken straight into another battle. Defeat them and examine the bottom left corner for a Fruity Fiber. Head down the stairs and head to the right, and then head up, left and then right at the intersection. Open the chest here that contains a Daphne Fruit. Head back to the intersection and take a left. Go down the stairs and use the save point. Equip your Shell Bracelets and head up to trigger a scene. Shania seems to be hurt, and a monster is coming forth. Time to play hero again. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | KERUFE | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 2380 | 474 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Wind | O--------------------O -Start off with a Hard Hit as usual. Use any Arc spells that you have, and keep your health up. Kerufe tends to use a lot of Physical attacks, and they hurt quite a bit, so you can expect to be healing a lot in this fight, even with a Shield around your characters. Poison shouldn't pose as a threat. Just make sure to keep Kerufe's Stock Gauge under 100% to avoid any Double attacks. Kerufe also has the ability to slow your characters by 66%, which can prove to be fatal if you're not fast with your attacks. Mao's Cat Touch is espeically great here if someone Raged her. Just keep your health up and keep Kerufe's Stock Gauge under 100%, and you should come out on top. ----------------------------- After the scene, Lady, Killer, and Gilbert all have fled. Shania is still unconscious, and you'll then be outside. Shania wakes up, and tries to take off after Lady, but as Johnny points out, you have no clue on where she is. A little girl rushes in and tells you that she wants you to go to Moana Village. Shania joins back up and you're on the world map screen again. Go give any Ring Fragments to the Ring Spirit and if you're using the Pedometer, go check on how many steps you have. When ready, enter Moana Village. ============== MOANA VILLAGE ============== (022) Once you gain control, grab the chest near the first hut. Head into the hut now and talk to the first girl on the left side to find out that she's a snap trader. Head to the right and talk to the kid at the top with Hilda in her slim form to recieve a Weekly Arts. Examine the shelves now to find a Hit Area Expand. Head back over to the girl on the left (Mary, the snap trader) and check around her to find a chest containing an Aqua Resist Stellar. Head back out and go to the left and open the chest in front of the huge statue. It contains a Seal of the Soul. Keep going to the left and head up the stairs. Go left again and open the chest at the end to obtain a Hail Solid Stellar. Talk to the woman here to play the Lottery. Head back and enter the hut Loloma is near. Watch the scene with Okanagan, explaining you the situation, and where the final Seal of Malice is. Once the scene is over, head back into the hut and examine the shelf for a Lottery Ticket. Head back out and head to the right and examine around the torch to find a Thera Root. Head back to the entrance of the village and you'll find Gerard and Buigen. Upgrade your equipment if you need to, and save your game. Exit and choose Vilcabamba. ============== VILCABAMBA ============== (023) Once the secne is over, examine the near pillar on your right for a Seal of Force. Step onto the platform and ride it down. Once you reach the bottom, watch the scene and continue down the pathway to enter the ruins. Use the save point here. Head for the platform to watch another scene, explaining how to activate the platform. Once it's over, head left and up for a switch. Once you activate it, head right and activate the switch near you. Grab the chest now that contains a Talisman of Mercy. Activate the final switch and head back to the platform and ride it up. Open the chest on the left for a Lottery Ticket. Go down the path and take the upper path. Examine around the end for a Ring Fragment. Head back down to the intersection and take the other path and head into the next room. Open the chest on the right for a Pure Root. Take the warp and head straight. Use the save point here. From the platform, go up and activate the switch here. Head back to the platform and go right and go down at the intersection. Grab the chest at the end for a Poison 2. Head back to the intersection and go up and take a left and activate the switch at the end of the path. Head back to the main path and ignore the green warp. Follow the path and open the chest at the end for a Red Bounce Stellar. Now backtrack to the green warp and take it. Go left and keep going until you reach a chest that contains a Will Power. Go back to the intersection and go down and then left for a chest containing a Fruity Fiber. Head to the right and take the purple warp. Go left and open the chest to obtain a Holy Resist Stellar. Go down and follow the path until you find a blue marking on the ground. Johnny automatically steps on it and a light bridge forms. Go across the bridge and go right, past the yellow warp. Head north once the path splits and open the chest for an Angel Souffle. Head for the blue marking to activate another light bridge. Go left and head around the yellow warp and head up for a chest containing a Seal 2. Go right and continue down the path and step on the blue marking here. Go across the bridge and activate the switch. Head back to the yellow warp and take it. Go down and past the purple warp and activate the final switch here. Go back to the purple warp and take it. Go down and right for a chest containing an Evil Shade Stellar. Head up and then take a right. Step on the blue marking and head across it to find the save point at the beginning of the area. Use it and make sure to equip Poison 1 and Poison 2 on at least two of your physically attacking characters. Upon going down, you'll find Killer and Gilbert. Killer steps up, ready to fight you, and Gilbert opens up a Window, giving Killer a little aid. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | KILLER | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 1450 | 222 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Fire | O--------------------O O--------------------O | DAOROS | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 1250 | 260 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Water | O--------------------O -On your first turn, knock off Killer's and Daoros's stock. After that, make sure to buff yourself up. Killer's Physical Attacks are very dangerous, and that Daoros also buffs, a Physical Attack raise on Killer could mean an instant kill on someone without a Shield on them. Once you buff yourself up completely, start attacking Daoros. Daoros has a weakness to Poison, and if you attack him with the two characters with Poison 1 and Poison 2, you can put Deadly Poison on him to quickly finish him off. Once Daoros is gone, focus on Killer. Though the battle is a bit easier without Daoros, you shouldn't let your guard down at all. Killer is still capable of dealing massive damage, so make sure to rebuff yourself if your buffs wear off. Make sure Killer's Stock Gauge never reaches 100%. Just keep yourself healed and you'll come out on top eventually. ----------------------------- The ruins start to break down, and then an FMV starts up, with the apperance of the Gate. Once the FMV is over, Moana Village is the only option. Enter it. ============== MOANA VILLAGE ============== (024) Head back to where Okanagan is. Okanagan will mention a way of perhaps keeping the Gate closed. You'd need to activate a Blue Light, but you need two rings to do so. One is in the Aito Caves, whereas the other is with a tribe that still lives in the North. Once the scene is over, you'll be outside. Shop with Gerard and get any items you may need. Also make sure to buy some Mirror Bracelets, as Gerard and Buigen don't appear in the next dungeon. Exit and enter Aito Cave. ============== AITO CAVE ============== (025) Head into the cave itself and save your game. Head forward and you'll be treated to a fight. Once the enemies are defeated, head straight ahead for another scene, explaining the three Tikis. The Black Tikis will summons monsters for you to fight if you want to go past them. The Blue Tikis will push you back if you try to go past them from the front, and the Red Tikis will warp you to another part of the cave if you step on the red tile near them. Once you regain control, open the chest behind the right Tiki for a Cure Plus Stellar. Go deeper into the cave and head straight, ignoring the right path. Keep going and take the right path, as you can't get the chest on the left side yet. Open the chest on the right side of the room for a Ring Fragment. Take the left path and examine the right Tiki to find a Hail Exceed Stellar. Head back to where you found the Ring Fragment and take the right path. Go up and examinea round the left torch for a Seal of Vitality. Keep going up to the Tikis and open the chest near the left one for a Thera Root. Head back to where you found the Ring Fragment and take the other path. Head to the right and then up to trigger a cutscene involving why Shania is chasing after Lady. Natan explains that Lady slaughtered their entire tribe, and that Natan was asked to look after Shania. Once in control, head north and take the right side and examine the end of the path near the rocks for a Hit Area Expand. Head back down and take the left path and keep going and you'll run into a Save Point. Use it, and grab the chest in the lower left section of the room for a Pure Root. Head through the opening here. At the intersection, take a left and then take another left with the path splits again. Follow the path a bit and you'll run into three Black Tikis guarding a chest. Run between each of the Tikis to get into three fights. Once you're done, grab the chest at the end for a Gale Vortex Stellar. Go back to the main path and go to the right. Go south at the split and keep going until the path splits again. Take the left path and step on the red tile to be teleported to the chest at the beginning. Open it for a Blood Loss 2. Make your way back to where you were before stepping on the red tile. When you get there, head to the right and examine the corner for a Zodiac Bracelet. Go through the opening here and step on the red tile to be teleported again. Head straight ahead and use the save point once you come across it. Go to the left of the save point to find a chest containing an Earth Resist Stellar. Head back and before going through the next door, equip your party with Mirror Bracelets. When ready, head on through. Johnny walks up to the huge object in the middle of the platform. He'll notice the ring behind him, and carefully navigate around it, only to find out that it's actually a huge beast and that he woke it up. Good going, Johnny. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | DELGET | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 3000 | 510 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Earth | O--------------------O -Surprisingly, Delget isn't that hard. That is if you have those Mirror Bracelets equipped and use Arc Shield. Arc Gale is also a good idea. Make sure to Hard Hit Delget on your first turn to knock off his stock. Delget has the ability to petrify your entire party, but thanks to the Mirror Bracelets we equipped, we don't need to worry about that. Delget hits hard, even with Arc Shield up, so have someone ready with Cure, or better yet, Cure Plus. Delget will cast Rock Javelin from time to time, but it's not as threatning as his physical attacks. After you do enough damage, Delget will use Energy Charge, which will increase his attack power by 125% for one turn. I would recommend defending on this turn. Once he attacks, Energy Charge will be no more, and you're free to pound on him again. Just keep your health up and you shouldn't have too much trouble. ----------------------------- You'll obtain one of the rings. You'll then be on the world map, with the Grand Canyon automatically picked out for you. Choose the Grand Canyon then. ============== GRAND CANYON ============== (026) Head to where Zonda is and he and Shania will have a little talk before Zonda gives Shania the second ring. Leave the Grand Canyon. Before going any further, make sure to check up on your Pedometer steps if you're using it, and give the Ring Soul any Ring Fragments you have in your inventory. Also, if you're using Mao, now would be a good time to do at least three, maybe four of the Pagoda fights. When ready, enter Uyuni Salt Lake. ============== UYUNI SALT LAKE ============== (027) Head up to the entrance. Watch the scene. Use the save point to your left and head to the right to find a chest containing a Pure Extract. Head up to where Gerard and Buigen are and upgrade your equipment from Gerard. Now would be a good time to start updating your Stellar Charts, too. When ready, grab the chest on the left that contains a Air Resist Stellar. Head through the door. Follow the spiraling path upwards and head through the door. Head to the right to trigger a scene. Johnny will flip the switch here, and some pillars will rise and some will fall. Oh joy. A pillar puzzle. These are always fun. Once in control, cross the newly formed pillars and activate the next switch you come across. Go across the red pillar and go left, past the switch for a chest containing an Angel Souffle. Head back to the switch you passed and activate it. Head to the red and green switch and activate that one as well. Head across the red pillars and go down and activate the white switch to open the door. Go through it and examine the corner of the hall for a Lottery Ticket. Make your way up the spiraling pathway and go through the next door. Head to the left and activate the switch and then head to the right and activate that switch. Head across the pillars and then head to the right for a chest containing a Cosmic Bracelet. Head left across the grene pillar and stand on the next green pillar and activate the switch to lower yourself to the ground. Head to the left and examine around for a Red Gravity Stellar. Go right and up, over the green pillar, and then right. Activate the white switch to open the door and then grab the chest past the yellow pillars for a Fruity Fiber. Head back to the red/yellow switch and activate it. Stand on the red pillar here and activate the switch here. Cross the pillars and head through the door. Make your way up the spiraling pathway and check the corner at the top for a Hit Area Expand. Now go through the door. Thankfully, this is the last pillar room, but it's also the biggest pain. Save your game here just incase you screw up. Go left and activate the switch here and head to the right and activate the red/yellow switch here. Head back to the left and activate the green/yellow switch. Go right and open the chest that contains a Rock Javelin Stellar. Go back to the left and activate the red/green switch. Head through the opening and go up. Head up and to the right and examine around the corner for a Thera Root. Head back and stand on the yellow pillar and activate the yellow/red switch. Head back to the red/green switch and activate it. Cross the yellow pillars and stand on top of the red pillar. Activate the white switch to open the door. There's a couple of more things to do before heading through. Go down and right and stand on the red pillar and activate the switch here to go back down. Go left and activate the green/yellow switch. Go left again and activate the switch here and head through the opening and stand on the green pillar. Activate the nearby switch and the green pillar Johnny is standing on will rise. Head across the green pillars and head for the red/green switch. Activate it and you'll be taken back down to the ground. Go left and examine the stone object. Frank will find himself a new weapon. Some of the party members take their swings at him, and then Frank pulls out a Hilt, and sticks it into the sword into the stone, and picks up the entire thing to use as a weapon. How fun. Activate the red/yellow switch and go stand on the green pillar. Activate the switch here and activate the red/green switch and head down and right. Go past the Save Point and cross the pillars and go through the door here. Make your way up the spiral pathway and head through the door. Follow the only path in this room and open the chest that contains a Seal of Wisdom. Head for the door and examine the corner to the right of the door for a Dark Resist Stellar. Head through the door now and head up and through the next door. You'll find yourself in a room marked with a star with two doors; one with no lights on it, and one with all the lights on it. Stepping on a switch will either light up one of the stones, or will dim it out. Let's head through the left door first. Once you open it, head up the path and open the chest containing a Snowdrop Sentry, a weapon for Mao. Head back down and step on the stones so all of them light up to open the right door. Head on through the door and up the path. Use a Tent if you need to and save your game here. Equip your party with Leonardo Bears and head on through. Head for the altar, and Shania will stick her ring inside. Johnny steps up, and before he can put his ring in, a knife comes flying through the air, striking Johnny's hand, making him drop the ring. The party turns around, only to find Killer. Asking him nicely probably won't work, so it looks like we're going to need to use brute force. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | KILLER | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 3600 | 560 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Fire | O--------------------O -Hard Hit killer twice to start the battle since he starts with two stock this time. Killer isn't all that different from before, meaning he's still really powerful, physical wise, and he's not afraid to hold back. Make sure to have Arc Shield, Arc Gale, and Arc Rage up. Someone should have Arc Cure on as well. Killer still has Vice Needle and Red Gravity, and he can also cast Gale on himself this time, so you'll need to keep your buffs up at all times. If you've done the fourth fight of Mao's sidequest, use Cat Touch. With Rage on Mao, Cat Touch did 300 damage for me. When Killer's stock is starting to get near 100%, use Evil Shade or Hard Hit him again. You need to make sure it never reaches 100%, or gets close to 100%, because one Double from Killer means an instant death to a character, even with buffs on. Just make sure to heal yourself after every turn, and keep his stock down, and you should win this fight. ----------------------------- After the fight, Killer collapses to the ground, and Johnny goes to put the ring into the altar. Hilda looks back at Killers body and turns back around. Killer slowly stands up, and rushes at Johnny, impaling him with one of his knives. Johnny falls to the ground, and Killer gets a kick out of it. Soon, a red aura forms around Johnny, and Johnny transforms into a being that looks like Lady. Johnny knocks Killer all the way back into the door, and slaps Shania to the ground, and also takes out the rest of the party. Shania grabs the ring and puts it in the altar, and then passes out. ============== JOHNNY'S DREAM ============== (028) Johnny wakes up in his bed... only it's a different bed. Seems like Johnny woke up in his bedroom at his old mansion. You'll get control. Examine around the room to learn a bit more about Johnny. Head through the door on the right to enter the hallway. Examine above the door on the right to find a Lottery Tickey. Use the save point and enter the other door in the hall to wind up in a study room, which belonged to Johnny's Dad. Examine the coffee table for an Angel Souffle. Head to the right and examine the windowsill for a Fruity Fiber. Examine everything around the room, and head back to the entrance, to be warped to the basement. You'll then be treated to a cutscene in which the Emigre Manuscript is being used. Soon, a faint picture of a woman walks away after shattering the glass of her glass tube. Johnny then proceeds to wake up. ============== UPPER WEST SIDE ============== (029) Johnny wakes up and heads downstairs to find the rest of the party. Johnny mentions his dream, and knows that there must be some connection of his dream to his old mansion. Johnny asks Lenny for the house key, but Lenny instead decides to tag along. When ready, exit to the World Map and choose The Garland Residence. ============== GARLAND RESIDENCE ============== (030) Head up to the door and Lenny will unlock it. Once you head inside, move around a bit and you'll encounter some enemies. Once you win, a scene will trigger, with Johnny asking why there are monsters in the Mansion. Head up the right side of stairs and open the chest for a Bright Decide Stellar. Head back down and go to the purple seal here. Hilda jumps in and explains what it is, and how it works. Seems like we have a nice little puzzle to figure out. If you don't know Roman Numerals, here are the numbers as followed: I ---> One II --> Two III -> Three IV --> Four V ---> Five VI --> Six VII -> Seven VIII > Eight IX --> Nine Head through the seal here and Lenny will take off on his own. Head through the door. Ignore the seal on the left and head through the door on the right. Go through the door straight across from you now. Go through Seal V and then head down and open the chest containing a Flare Brooch. Head back up and go through Seal IV. Head through the door up here and go left past the doors until you reach Seal II. Go through it and go down and head through the door on the left. Head a bit up and right and examine around to find an important item, the Heretical Tome. Head down and go through Seal VIII. Open the chest on the right side of the seal for an Apathy 2. Don't go through Seal VII and head through the right door. Go through the door across from Johnny. Go through Seal VI and head through the north door. Enter the door straight across from Johnny. Head through Seal III, and then head up a bit to find the final seal, Seal IX. Go through it and all the Seals will disappear. Now that we can explore the Mansion freely, head back down and go through the left door. Examine around the room for a Hit Area Expand. Head down and left for a chest containing a Resurrection Stellar. Exit the room and head back up and go through the door. Head to the right and examine around the corner for a chest containing a Ring Fragment. Go up where a Pentagram icon is and examine it and put the book into the slot. A loud noise occurs. Seems like something moved. Head to the courtyard and a scene will trigger, showing that the huge statue is the object that moved. Go down the stairs and use the save point. Equip Blood Loss 2 on one of your physical attackers, and examine the machine above the save point to turn on the lights. Head on through the door and you'll find a baby on a huge head, which leads into our next fight. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | TAMARIS | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 3900 | 666 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Light | O--------------------O -People who have played the previous Shadow Hearts games, and Koudelka, will be all too familiar with this boss. Start things off by Hard Hitting Tamaris and snap this boss Seven times with Johnny. That's right, Seven times. Make sure to put up Arc Shield, Arc Barrier, Arc Gale, and Arc Rage to prepare for Tamaris's attacks. Tamaris isn't really that hard, since if you have your buffs up, Tamaris shouldn't pose that much of a threat. If you have Blood Loss 2 equipped, there's a good chance you'll take off a huge chunk of Tamaris's HP, as Tamaris is weak to it. Once it starts to get low on health, it'll use Spirit Ward, which takes one of your party members out of the battle for the remainder of the fight. Just keep attacking it and healing if needed. And just a little fun fact, if you use Cat Touch to finish it off, you'll obtain 5 Bream Coins. ----------------------------- After the fight, Johnny notices a frame on the floor. He picks it up, and when he looks at it, he's shocked and awed to find a terrifying result. Lady, the woman trying to destroy the world, is Johnny's sister, Grace. You'll be taken back to the World Map. Choose Upper West Side. ============== UPPER WEST SIDE ============== (031) Johnny wants to find out the truth, so he wants to talk to Roger. Exit the Agency, and exit onto the World Map and choose Roswell. ============== ROSWELL ============== (032) Head into the little shack here and head to the vending machine to find Roger. Talk with him to trigger a small scene. He'll want you to meet him at the basement of the Garland Residence. Let's go and meet Roger. ============== GARLAND RESIDENCE ============== (033) Make your way back to the basement and head to the left of Roger and examine around to find a chest containing a Dragon Tail, a weapon for Johnny. Talk with Roger, and he'll bring life to the memories of the room, showing exactly what happened. Johnny's father is using the Emigre Manuscript in an attempt to bring Johnny and Grace back to life. Soon, Grace awakens, and notices Johnny in the other tube. Grace then gives all of her will (the blue light) to Johnny, and Grace breaks out of her tube and kills her father. The result of this, is that Grace lost her memories and everything else, and is now Lady. Once the scene is over, enter the Upper West Side. ============== UPPER WEST SIDE ============== (034) Head into the Agency, and talk with everyone. Once you have, attempt to leave and you'll be stopped short. Go talk with Natan to find out where Shania is hiding out at. Exit to the World Map, and choose Brooklyn. ============== BROOKLYN ============== (035) A long scene will unfold here. Shania asks Johnny about his sister, and some talking about the current events will come up. After the scene, hug against the wall near you and once a "?" appears over your head, press X to obtain a Flare Brooch. Just a small note, Johnny now has the Awaker ability, which lets him transform into the being that he transformed into at Uyuni. In this state, each turn will consume 4 SP, and Johnny's stats will go through the roof. Exit Brooklyn and enter Upper West Side. ============== UPPER WEST SIDE ============== (036) Head inside the Agency and Lenny will notify you that Roger has the repairs complete and is ready to go. Exit to the World Map, and enter Roswell. ============== ROSWELL ============== (037) Head to the right side of the hotel and head up to the launch pad. Head up the stairs and talk with Roger here. He'll ask if you're ready. If so, pick the option that says you are, and you'll then take off. ============== THE GATE ============== (038) Once you enter the Gate, a bunch of sidequests become available. I recommend going back down and doing most, if not all of them. If you think you're ready, then let's continue. Grab the chest behind Roger to obtain a Mortal Venom for Natan. Use the save point on the right, and equip Leonardo Bears on your characters, or if you did any sidequests, equip some Crucifixs and head down the path here to find Killer. A scene will trigger which sounds an awful like the promise that Yuri made to Alice in the first Shadow Hearts game. Killer than turns around, ready to finish this once and for all. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | MALICE KILLER | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 4200 | 703 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Fire | O--------------------O -Quickly knock off Malice Killer's stock, as it'll spell trouble if he gets a double attack in. Use Arc Shield, Arc Gale, Arc Barrier, and Arc Rage on your next turns to get yourself ready. If you have Sake Cup Purge for Mao, use that, as it's of the Water Element, and it Hard Hits, which is a twofer in this fight. Malice Killer has Red Crest and Vile Blade to work with, and they both hit hard, so make sure to have a dedicated healer ready. Keep a close eye on Malice Killer's stock and knock it down if it's getting close to 100%. After you take out about 3/4's of Malice Killer's health, he'll use Energy Charge. You have two options here. You can either defend to reduce the damage, or you can attempt a combo to finish him off. If you don't think you can finish him off with one combo, don't risk it and guard. Once Energy Charge is done for, you should be able to take him out the next few turns depending on how much you have to heal. ----------------------------- Killer collapses to the ground, and Lady turns around and notices this. Lady approaches Killer. It seems Lady is starting to get a little bit of her humanity back, or at least, emotions back. The Gate opens, and Lady heads inside with Killer in her arms, and Gilbert follows her in. Once in control, head back out and grab the Red Crest Stellar on the ground. Head back inside and use the save point here. Awesome music here, wouldn't you agree? Head up the path and take the first left you come across and then down at the next intersection. Head around and open the chest for an Angel Souffle. Head back to the intersection and head north for another chest containing a Mana Extract. Head back to the main path and follow it upwards for a scene. Seems a barrier is blocking our path. Let's go find the sorce of it. Head to the right and down at the next intersection. Open the chest for a Hit Area Expand and follow the bend for another chest containing a Thera Extract. Head back to the intersection and head north. You'll run into a tree like creature. You'll get into a fight with your first Malice Soaker. Malice Soakers are just like regular enemies, only a bit stronger and they have a lot more Hit Points. Regardless to say, you shouldn't have too much trouble. Once it's defeated, head back to where the red barrier is, and head onto the next section. Head up and take a left at the split and open the chest for an Evasion Down 3. Head back to the split and equip your party with Feather Bracelets. Take the right path this time, and you'll run into Gilbert. After a little speech, Gilbert transforms into one hideous creature. Makes me want to hug him all night long. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | MALICE GILBERT | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 4700 | 812 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Dark | O--------------------O -Have Johnny snap at least once and then knock off Malice Gilbert's stock. Cast Arc Gale, Arc Rage, Arc Barrier, Arc Surge, and Arc Shield on your entire party. The Bright Stellars are your best friends in this fight. At some point during the fight, Gilbert will attempt to use Panic on your characters, but the Feather Bracelets will neglect it. Evil Crest will hurt you alot, so as with Malice Killer, have a dedicated healer for this fight. Keep a close eye on Malice Gilbert's Stock and knock it down if it gets close to 100%. Deep Grudge is a devastating attack you need to heal immediately after. Just keep your health up and you'll win eventually. ----------------------------- Examine the shiny object on the ground to obtain the Evil Crest Stellar. Head up the path and take the lower left path. Grab the chest at the bottom of the stairs to obtain a Meteor Mask. Head back up and around the bend for another chest containing a Mana Extract. Take the upper left patht his time and open the chest to obtain a Crystal Hope, a weapon for Hilda. Head north to reach the next section of The Gate. Use the save point here and head to the right. Go south at the intersection and open the chest to obtain a Fruity Fiber. Head back to the intersection and head north. Defeat the Malice Soaker and head back to the save point. Just a quick note, there's a rare Monster here named Janus. If you run into him, snap him twice. From the save point, head left. Take the bottom path when the path splits and then take a right for a chest containing Poison 3. Head back to the fork and head north and then to the right when the path splits. Go down and grab the chest on the right for a Pure Extract. Head down for another Malice Soaker. Once it's defeated, head back to the fork and go right. Grab the chest here for a Gathering Stellar. Keep going right to fight the final Malice Soaker. Head back to the save point and go north through the open pathway. Use the save point here adn open the chest on the right for a Crucifix. This is your last chance to turn around and do any sidequests you need to do or stock up on any items. If you think you're ready, continue north until the screen blackens. An FMV will start up with Lady placing Killer on a stone bed. She attempts to give him a Kiss of Malice, but it fails, and Lady starts to cry. Johnny and the others walk in, which just makes her even more pissy. Lady lets out a loud scream and summons a strange creature. With that, the final battle begins. ----------------------------- O--------------------O | LADY | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 2800 | 999 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | None | O--------------------O O--------------------O | MALICE UNBRAL | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 7200 | 999 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | None | O--------------------O -The final battle. First things first, DO NOT buff your characters, as Lady will use Lost Progress to wipe them away. If your levels are in the 40's, expect to get your ass handed to you unless you have a different strategy on hand. You may think you need to attack Lady, but if you try to attack her, you won't damage her one bit, so don't try. Hard Hit the Malice Unbral to get its stock down. Remember, DO NOT buff your characters, as the buffs will only be wiped away. Once the Malice Unbral's stock is gone, focus on attacking it. Make sure to have Johnny snap both Lady and the Malice Unbral if you wish to do all of Johnny's sidequests. The attacks that Lady and the Malice Unbral use are absolutely devastating, no matter what levels you are. Just about all of their attacks do nearly 300 damage, or well over 300 damage, so make sure to keep your health up at all times. If you have any keys, now would be the best time to use them. If you run out of keys, or don't have any (though I can't figure out why you wouldn't have at least one), you'll need to chip away at the Malice Unabrals health with combos. Once the Malice Unbral gets low on health, Lady will Cure it for about 750 HP, so make sure you can do that much in one round. If the Malice Unbral uses a Double, you pretty much lost. Heal after every attack. Use Extracts if you need to, and keep an eye on your SP, as this will be a long battle if you haven't done any sidequests whatsoever. After a long, long fight, and with some Luck on your side, you'll come out on top eventually. Once the Malice Unbral falls, the barrier around Lady disappears. She'll use one last ditch effort attack once the Malice Unbral is gone, so make sure your health is at full, because her attack hits hard. If you survive, the next character's only option is to attack. Do so, and Lady will fall. ----------------------------- Watch the following scenes and then the credits will roll by, followed by another scene which is decided depending on which ending you got. Congrats, you've beaten Shadow Hearts: From the New World. You'll then be prompted to save your game. If you load up the saved file, you'll keep all of the following on your next playthrough: -Johnny's Awaker ability and skills. -Johnny's Snap Cards. -Shania's Fusions and all the Fetishes and all the Soul Energy to charge them. -Stellar Charts. -Stellars. -Scores and Rank from your previous playthrough -Library, both NPCs and Monsters. I hope that my guide helped you through the main portion of the game. =================== 4.) Sidequests =================== NOTE: I don't remember the exact times that some of the sidequests open. ============== JOHNNY ============== O-----------------------------O | Riddle Me This Chest Puzzle | O-----------------------------O -Ignore the title. I was able to do this sidequest once I left Chicago. Head back to New York and head for Upper West Side. Head for the Garland Detective Agency, and Lenny will confront you with a letter. After reading it, there's a chest by Lenny that needs a decoding. You need to figure out the numbers for A and B, while each number (1-9) is used once. Instead of trying to complicate the situation (and confuse myself) by giving a detailed explaination about the chest, I'll just give you the answer. A = 5 B = 9 Once you open it, Johnny will obtain the Vacuum, which is actually pretty useful even though the MP cost is a bit steep. It sucks the enemy's stock and gives it to Johnny. ------------------- O----------------------O | Math Is Fun... Sorta | O----------------------O -After obtaining the Vacuum, head back to Lenny after a bit and he'll confront you again. This time, the mysterious "Tinkerbell" has hired two Assassins for Johnny to find to see if he's a real detective. The location of the first one is given, which is in Times Square. Head to the second screen of Times Square and talk with the man that's wearing a Cowboy Hat. For those of you that did Lenny's Sidequest in SH:C will surely recognize this. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, you'll be asked 10 random (but easy) math questions. All subtraction and addition. Once you pass the quiz, you'll be given the location of the second "Assassin", which is Harlem. Head for Harlem and look around for a man in a red suit. Talking to him will activate the second portion of the sidequest, which is another math quiz. However, this one requires you to think a bit more, as all the problems are either multiplication or division questions. Once you answer 10 of them, you'll recieve the Panoramic Lens for Johnny which is extremely useful. It snaps all the enemies on the screen at once. Before exiting Harlem, head back to the entrance and examine around (should be near the sewer gate) for an item. Head back into the alleyway and check the pole for another item. Go back and go the opposite way from the entrance. Check behind the stop sign for an item, and grab the chest near the exit. ------------------- O---------------------------O | Here Kitty Kitty Kitty... | O---------------------------O -I did this sidequest after completeing one of the Ruins in South America. Head back to the Garland Detective Agency to find Lenny and a little girl. The girl asks you to find her missing cat, and to talk to her dad in Times Square. Head for Times Square. Her father is standings near the street curb. Talk with him and he'll tell you about three employees, and that possibly one of them may have taken the cat. The man will then tell you about the three locations where his employees reside at. One is at Times Square, one is at Chelsea, and one is at Harlem. Talk around with the other people in the respective cities to find them. As you talk to each of them, keep in mind what they say. Once you've talked with all three, go back to see Lenny and review the notes you took. Read all of the stories to advance the sidequest. Lenny will bring up asking the girls father about their personalities. Go talk with him, and he'll tell you that if they lie, they tend to just come and lie about it. Go back and talk to Lenny and you'll then be prompted to choose the culprit. The first question will ask how many people were truthful. The answer is 1. The second question will ask who left the store last. The answer is Wells. The third question will ask who's the culprit. The answer is Taffy. Once you get the answers, go back to Harlem to find Taffy, and he'll break down and admit it. Now go back to the Detective Agency and the girl will claim that she found her cat. Lenny will praise Johnny and then run outside, and run back inside with a package and a note that was very quickly written. Johnny's final prize for this series of Sidequests is the Call Phone, which allows Johnny to call Lenny into battle. ------------------- O----------------O | Ultimate Armor | O----------------O -Once you enter The Gate, head back to the Detective Agency and talk with Lenny to trigger a scene. Lenny will give you a jacket he made himself, which is also Johnny's Ultimate Armor, the Liberty Ghost. ------------------- O-----------------O | Ultimate Weapon | O-----------------O -Once The Gate opens, head to Roswell and talk with Roger and he'll ask you to go fetch a certain magazine for you, the N.Y Heaven. It seems like ol' Roger still has that perviness in him. Head to Alcatraz Prison and head to where you found the Spoon. You'll find Ness in there. Talk with him, and after a series of emoticons, he'll hand over the magazine. Take it back to Roger, and he'll give you a Knife, in which Natan quickly names the Cherry Bowie. ============== MAO ============== O-----------O | Cat Fight | O-----------O -You can do this sidequest whenever you first enter Purramount Pictures. If you talk to the Assistant director, he'll give you a list of the actors he's booked, and the price they want. There are 6 total stages in all. The first actor requires 5 Mackerel coins. The second actor requires 5 Mackerel coins and 10 Octopus coins. Before each fight, make sure to equip a Pocket Watch, as the cats tend to use Ring Effects practically every turn. The first couple of fights are easy, but in the later stages, equipped Gale, Shield, and Rage on Mao is a good idea. ------------------- ============== RICARDO ============== O-----------------O | Journal Hunting | O-----------------O -After encountering Rio De Janerio for the first time and exiting it after you do everything you need to do there, head back to the Journalism office and talk with the old man. He'll tell you about his journals and diaries. He'll ask Ricardo to go find it. Head for Chicago and enter the nightclub. On the left side of the counter, there's an old woman. Talk to her and she'll go fetch the diary. Head back to Rio and talk to the head editor. He'll say that the old man had a heart attacked and passed away, and suggests Ricardo to keep the diary onhand. Ricardo then gets his next set of Muse Notes. ============== 5.) Bosses ============== ----------------------------- O--------------------O | DEEP ONE | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 170 | ??? | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Water | O--------------------O -You'll be controlling Shania in this fight instead of Johnny. The fight isn't all that hard. Just make sure that the Deep One doesn't get any double attacks in and you'll be fine. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | IGNORAK | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 500 | 125 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Dark | O--------------------O -This fight is much tougher than the fight with Deep One. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | TATAN'KA | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 200 | ??? | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Earth | O--------------------O -Fuse into Thunderbird with Shania and use a Hard Hit to knock off it's Stock. Tatan'ka hits hard, so make sure to keep an eye on your HP. Use Double if you have the stock (avoid using Bar Rod), or just use Physical Attacks. Just keep an eye on your health and chip away at Tatan'Ka's health. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | RONWEI | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 700 | 256 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Fire | O--------------------O -Have Johnny snap a picture, and have Shania fuse into whichever fusion you want. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | PROCYON | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 1110 | 300 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Wind | O--------------------O -Only magic attacks will work on this boss, so hopefully you have some magic that can hard hit Procyon to knock off his stock. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | LA SIRENE | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 305 | ??? | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | None | O--------------------O -Fuse Shania into whoever you want, and use Hard Hit to start the battle off. La Sirene isn't necessarily a threat, as her attacks don't hit hard. However, she can use Fake Ring, so watch out for that. You should only need to heal only once in this fight, if any time at all, so just lay waste. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | MALICE EDNA | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 1670 | 404 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Water | O--------------------O -First thing you should do is knock off her stock. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | JEB NIGAS | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 2020 | 382 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Light | O--------------------O -Knock off his stock as quickly as you can. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | KERUFE | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 2380 | 474 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Wind | O--------------------O -Start off with a Hard Hit as usual. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | KILLER | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 1450 | 222 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Fire | O--------------------O O--------------------O | DAOROS | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 1250 | 260 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Water | O--------------------O -On your first turn, knock off Killer's and Daoros's stock. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | DELGET | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 3000 | 510 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Earth | O--------------------O -Surprisingly, Delget isn't that hard. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | KILLER | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 3600 | 560 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Fire | O--------------------O -Hard Hit killer twice to start the battle since he starts with two stock this time. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | TAMARIS | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 3900 | 666 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Light | O--------------------O -People who have played the previous Shadow Hearts games, and Koudelka, will be all too familiar with this boss. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | MALICE KILLER | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 4200 | 703 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Fire | O--------------------O -Quickly knock off Malice Killer's stock, as it'll spell trouble if he gets a double attack in. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | MALICE GILBERT | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 4700 | 812 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | Dark | O--------------------O -Have Johnny snap at least once and then knock off Malice Gilbert's stock. ----------------------------- ----------------------------- O--------------------O | LADY | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 2800 | 999 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | None | O--------------------O O--------------------O | MALICE UNBRAL | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O----------O---------O | 7200 | 999 | O----------O---------O | CLASS | O--------------------O | None | O--------------------O -The final battle. ----------------------------- ============== 6.)
