Strategies 7.Misc/FAQ 8.Credit ===================================================================== **********Disclaimer/Introduction***************** Quake 4 is not owned by me nor do I have any affiliated with the makers of the game except enjoying and playing the game. Please don't jack this FAQ so you can look good, that is annoying. If you want to use this, you can read the bottom for the information to do so. This FAQ is keeping those with very simple minds in mind. I try to keep information as in-depth and at the same time concise and straight to the point, so if you follow my directions you should get through this quite well. This Strategy was played on the normal setting; you can adjust to harder settings if you wish but how you do will affect the overall usefulness of this FAQ. If you have a problem with any grammar or spelling in this FAQ then that is to bad, I do spell check this around 2 times, as for grammar I only make sure that any one can pretty much follow this. If you want to spell check and make sure this is of the best English standard, please E-Mail me, I would rather enjoy a partner in writing FAQS since I hate Spell Checking. If you E-Mail me with complaints I will ignore them. I Thebest99 have written numerous FAQS and enjoy writing them, but at times I just don't know what to write. I like to consider my self as fast as possible with creating a Guide. Creating guide like this usually only takes about 3 to 4 days of my time. If you have a game that you want a strategy for, please read the below information on how doing so. Quake 4 is a FPS which takes place in the war between the human race and the strogg. An alien race going around eradicating other planets life. Q4 is a direct sequel of Quake 2 so in other words. Quake 4 is Quake 2 while Quake 2 was Quake 1. You are a marine and your job is to kill everything in your way. There isn't too much to say about it, it is very straight forward. ================================================================= 2. Weapons In order to complete your objectives you need weapons. Weapons kill things on the screen which don't look friendly. They are the core of your game, learn when and when not to use your weapons. Weapon Name: Weapon Power: Weapon Ammunition: Weapon Description: Weapon Upgrades: Weapon Name: Blaster Weapon Power: 3/10 Weapon Ammunition: Rechargeable Weapon Description: This is your default weapon that you should never be left with late in the game. You only need this until you pick up the machinegun. You can also charge up the weapon in order to fire a stronger blast. Weapon Name: Machinegun Weapon Power: 5/10 Weapon Ammunition: Clips Weapon Description: This weapon is the one you will be using a lot, and is quite damaging. The problem is you can go through ammo quite fast so this weapon is increasingly good for dealing with normal like enemies such as Lights and Rejects. You can deal with Medics with this as well but don't let them get to close. Weapon Upgrades: Extend Clip to 80 Weapon Name: Shotgun Weapon Power: 7/10 Weapon Ammunition: Shells Weapon Description: The one barrel shot gun which is the FPS veteran's best friend, the weapon is only good for close quarter combat, fighting long range is not recommended. This weapon does some heavy damage unclose, and is best suit for strong and well defended enemies. Weapon Upgrades: Allows users to load with a clip of shells then 1 at a time. Weapon Name: Nailgun Weapon Power: 7/10 Weapon Ammunition: Nails Weapon Description: This is a very awesome weapon with all the upgrades it finally gets this weapon simply woops ass all around the world. The only problem is the lacking of ammo in which you have to find and the extreme amount that it expends. With the power and the homing this is one vicious weapon. Weapon Upgrades: Increased Ammo, Increased Rate of fire, Increased Power, and Scope with homing nails. Weapon Name: Grenader Launcher Weapon Power: 8/10 Weapon Ammunition: Grenades Weapon Description: This is a weapon which launches grenades which can bounce of walls and go around corners before detonating. This is an extremely useful weapon in the right hands. You need to learn how to angle just so you can have the maximum damage applied to the enemies. The draw back is this weapon can only fire so far, and if you're extremely clumsy you can find your self getting hurt more then the enemies. Weapon Upgrades: None Weapon: Hyper Blaster Weapon Power: 7/10 Weapon Ammunition: Batteries Weapon Description: Think of it as a machinegun which fires out energy blasts in quick succession. Useful in most situations since there is a lot of ammo for it, except you can run out of ammo so fast it will make your head spin. Weapon Upgrades: Lets energy blasts bounce of walls. Weapon: Railgun Weapon Power: 9/10 Weapon Ammunitions: Slugs Weapon Description: Instant hit, aim, shoot, and it will hit them if you targeted them correctly. The weapon is kind of hard to explain but my main guess is it fries the insides of the enemies. This weapon can only hold 3 shots per ammo, so this is a deadly weapon depending on how many slugs you are currently holding. Weapon Upgrades: Increase Damage and the ability to go through multiple targets. Weapon: Lighting Gun Weapon Power: 8/10 Weapon Ammunition: Lightning Coils Weapon Description: It is a weapon which fires a huge stream of lighting for as long as your ammo last. Good for it's continuous attack but bad for the lack of ammo. This weapon should always be saved for your last resort. Weapon Upgrades: Allows the Lightning to jump at other enemies. Weapon: Rocket Launcher Weapon Power: 9/10 Weapon Ammunition: Rockets Weapon Description: It is the rocket launcher, and it fires off rockets which blow things into small pieces. This is a pretty awesome weapon against strong and big enemies. Ammo can be scarce or plentiful at times, so make sure you look. Weapon Upgrades: Burst of 3 rockets at a time. Weapon: Dark Matter Gun Weapon Power: 10/10 Weapon Ammunition: Unknown Weapon Description: If you played Unreal 2 the Awakening then this would be the same type of weapon. This weapon fires a black whole which uses gravity to attack and suck in surrounding enemies, then exploding. This is definitely an awesome weapon but enemies can dodge it. Weapon Upgrades: None This would conclude the weapon section, so hopefully you can balance your weapons out so they can best aid you in your adventure to kill all those ugly sons of bitches. ==================================================================== 5. Enemies & Friends Quake has some very interesting enemies but sadly since I don't know any of their exact names. I had to create my own; I did try to do my search on the correct names. You may e-mail me, but I will change the enemy descriptions. I won't go around the rest of the FAQ correcting all the names. Also with enemies there are 3 types of soldiers who can assist you among the game. Enemies Name: Exact Name: Description: Name: Lights Exact Name: Unknown Description: These enemies are usually all around; they come equipped with machine guns or a shotgun. They are rather weak you will notice thought that they are very agile, so be on your guard because they can appear behind you. You can deal with these guys with any type of weapon. Name: Grenader Exact Name: Gunner Description: These guys can take some damage and are equipped with a Nail Gun and a Grenader Launcher which they switch between depending on range, if you are far they will launch a grenade. They are tough but can be easily dealt with the machinegun or shotgun. Name: Medics Exact Name: Grunts Description: They look like bipedal cross of a dog. They can appear out of no where and they are extremely fast. THe only time they cause immense damage is when they leap at you, the shotgun will take care of these guys. Name: Arachnid Exact Name: Harvester Description: These look like massive spiders roaming around. There are few in the game but you usually deal with them when you're in some type of vehicle. They shoot homing rockets and machine guns. Your best bet in dealing with these types of Enemies, is simply take cover and fire your missiles which should lock on to their generators in the back. Don't get into close combat and shoot down any missiles coming your way. Name: Drop Turret Exact Name: Drop Turret Description: These are like missiles which come down from anywhere and will be deployed from anywhere and can penetrate through buildings. They are fairly week so blow them to pieces when you first see them come in. Name: Turrets Exact Name: Turrets Description: They come in 2 flavors, machine and missiles. Shoot them to destroy them. Name: Icarus's Exact Name: Unknown Description: These flying machines are quite annoying and can drop off Mobile Units. They have a machine gun and rockets. Simply blow them out the sky. Name: Mobile Unit Exact Name: Unknown Description: These enemies are like balls and they roll around you and appear shooting at you. They can be found with Icarus's and are fairly week. Name: Air Units Exact Name: Sentrys Description: They float around and can be destroyed rather easy but their weapons have an extreme amount of fire. Name: Heavies Exact Name: Unknown Description: They are huge and are always almost found out side, they can take a lot of damage and they fire missiles. Use your missiles or machine guns to take them out. Name: Mediums Exact Name: Gladiator Description: Huge, Big, and wanting to destroy you. They come equipped with a Rail Gun on the shoulder and a machine gun with the Shield. They can appear in groups of 1 or 2 at a time. They are challenging but not to tough if you know how to deal with them. They have a mounted Rail Gun, so if anything try to destroy that. Once you get rid of that, they're not as big of a threat. Then just take them out by getting in close and shooting a few nice placed Shells in their head. They do have a shield which can deflect and nullify all your attacks. Name: Doctors Exact Name: Scientists Description: They float around and have all types of surgical blades to cut you up and they shoot a type of waste at you which does some damage. Kill them fast so you don't get trapped and die by their poison. Name: Impalers Exact Name: Berserker Description: Maybe the most annoying enemy, they can jump at you and are pretty damn fast. They got an arm as one blade and can jump down shooting out a shock wave of electricity. They are strong, and your best bet is to take them out before they even get close to you. Back away from them, don't let them get close or you will suffer a lot of Damage. Name: Soylant Monster Exact Name: Fatty Description: His guts run through the whole complex, he is impossible to kill. So don't try killing him, just run around and kill him the story wise way. He has to claws which can extend quite far and do some damage. Name: Zombies Exact Name: Slimy Transfer Description: These are the weak Marines who couldn't handle the Strogg Process, they are dumped around in the Waste Process. Name: Zombies With Guns Exact Name: Failed Transfer Description: They failed rejects now have weapons. Take care of them like you would anything else. Name: Network Boss Exact: Network Description: The Main boss of the whole Network Security, he has a jet pack and has a lot of anger to channel into pain. Name: Black Widows Exact Name: Unknown Description: They are 2 enemies which remind you of the Arachnids of the first Quake 2, they were pretty easy just give it your all. The Nail Gun will prove how fast these guys go down. Name: Iron Maiden Exact Name: Iron Maiden Description: They float and can teleport. With this they even have a rockey launcher and have this breat which will distort your vision. They are found near the end of the game and they are always released. Name: Makron Exact Name: Makron Description: Guardian of the Nexus has the DAMG and can spawn other enemies. Name: Voss Mech Exact Name: Unknown Description: Your former leader now a strogg with a lightening gun, a DAMG and homing rockets he doesn't want to kill you but he does so anyway. Name: Judges Exact Name: Unknown Description: These guys can take so much damage and it takes a lot of time just to kill them. They chase you and they have a flame thrower which can shoot out flame bursts. The best way to deal with these guys is to use the Rail Gun and Grenade Launcher. Name: Repair Bot Exact Name: Repair Bot Description: They come out vents to repair enemies and or other types of things, just destroy them. Name: Medic Team Mate Exact Name: Medic Team Mate Description: Marines whom can heal you. Name: Technician Team Mate Exact Name: Technician Tech Mate Description: Team Mates who can modify your weapons and restore your armor. Name: Marines Exact Name: Marines Description: Soldiers whom will help you fight the strogg. This would conclude all of the enemies and friends, I already understand some of the descriptions and enemies may not match up. So if you have accurate information you can read in the FAQ on how to help. ======================================================================= Level 1: Landing! Well you will be cropped into a pretty desolate war zone from here go to SGT Morris and speak with him, he will be amazed that you're even alive. From here he will order you to go regroup with Rhino Squad. From here go around left to the left to visit Anderson a Medic. He will heal you up, from here look for medical personnel as they WILL help you greatly. From this point head across the bridge to the right and make a left to meet up with a soldier. CHECKPOINT- Regroup! Now that your there head on head, in the second room you will face your first battle. You will need to deal with 5 light soldiers. Soldiers will help you out; you should get use to the controls and shooting, after you kill them. Now head across the bridge to the right, and turn right and go all the way down the hallway to pick up a small med kit, from there head down and make a right through the next door. Now go right and go around the railing and enter into the next room. You'll pick up the Machinegun and an Light will assault you, kill him and pick up the clips then turn left to be attacked by 2 more, kill them and right in the next room a weird enemy will be there ( From here on called Medics), shoot it in the head and you'll meet up with another soldier. There is some ammo and a health pack in the create and some clips at the end of the hallway, get what you need and exit through the door on your right. Here you will need to go down the hallway with pipes and take on a medic, dispose of it and head on around the pipes into the next area, go up the ramp and meet up with SGT Miller. CHECKPONT- MEDIC! You're new objective is to back out and to retrieve the Medic Anderson and bring him back to heal the marine, pick up the 2 Health Packs if you need them and head back out. Go around the pipes to meet up with another medic, kill him and the 3 light guards and head to the left. Here you will deal with another new enemy (Referred now as Impalers) this guy uses a huge blade and will try to kill you, but before he can shoot him in the head and head through the door down the hall and make a left. There will be some more lights but Anderson and you will take care of them in a pretty short amount of time, now take Anderson back to the injured soldier. So go back through the door you just came through and you will need to deal with another medic, dispose of the medic and go down the new opening to grab some armor and a clip then go around flip the switch and go back up the ladder, go in through the door and head around the right into the next room. The Next area will have an Impaler defeat him and go through the door, to the right another Impaler will come with 2 lights with machineguns. Kill them, if you get hurt during this process don't worry just talk with Anderson to heal you up and go into the room and take Anderson all the way to the Injured Soldier. Head through the right to meet up with another Cortez whom will talk to you, grab the clips and small health packs and head left and exit the level. (Well for the first level they sure made this slightly action packed but from here on out it is going to get just as hard, so stay on your toes.) ====================================================================== Level 2: Air Defense Trenches In the next area go around and enter the elevator, here you will be assaulted by another medic. Kill the medic and grab the armor in the crate and head to the left down the stairs and a across the bridge, before you go through the next area dispose of the Impaler and save the guard, exit through the door and pick up the Large and Small health kit in the create and head right down the pipes to pick up some armor shards. Head back up and go left and head down the hallway. CHECKPOINT- Trenches of doom! In this area head right, don't worry about all the attacks going on you will rarely get hurt head on down to the create to pick up a clip and then make a right and dispose of the Impaler and the 8 lights. Kill them and head to the right into the little area to find a clip, pick it up and head all the way to the right and around. Then make a left to check up with Rhodes and meet up with your leader. You will be instructed to take out the Air Cannons, from here make a left now go around and dispose of the Impaler and the lights, then make a left to take care of another 3 or so lights. Then go through the next area to end the level. (Easy, there wasn't too much fighting more or less still just grasping the basics. ======================================================================== Level 3: Hangar Perimeter Go right and enter the room to deal with 2 Impaler and about 9 lights then head down the hallway and make left through the door, you'll meet up with the Viper Squad. In the create you can find a machinegun and some clips after this the game will save and you will receive the shotgun. Checkpoint-Infiltration! Check the floor and the crates to pick up some shells for the shotgun and proceed through the next door and deal with the enemies coming from the right. All of them are lights, the marines will deal with the Impaler straight of you, once you dealt with them head left and make a right, then go down to where the Impaler was to pick up some ammunition. Make sure you talk with the Tech of the Viper Squad to bring your armor to full 100. From here go back down and make a left through the next room, you'll be attacked by a bunch of lights, Kill them and head on through, in the next room an Impaler will run up the steps dispose of him and the one light will be killed. Enter into the next room and turn right, in this area a medic will come, dispose of him and head down the hallway to pick up some shells and clips from here turn left and go down semi and make another left to pick up some health and then enter the Elevator with the other marines. Head out to be assaulted by a Grenader from the bridge and about 6 lights. Dispose of them and head on to the right when some more lights jump out from a top to attack you. The door is blocked by some super bullet proof window; you will need to some how blow it away. So head to the left where an Impaler will jump out, kill him and enter the room to deal with around 3 to 4 guards. Now go through the door and up the ladder, head out the door and activate the switch so the bridge can be formed, once done a medium and a light will assault you kill them and head through the door, activate the switch and go all the way down make a right and use the switch to go down to meet up with the Viper Squad. Now head to the cannon and activate it, you will now be allowed to progress through the next area, Pick up the clips and the armor shards and enter the next room and kill the Impaler. Your objective is to meet up with the demolition expert whom is on his way, Here 2 lights will attack from the bridge on top, kill them and head up the platform and activate the bridge. You will have to deal with about 10 or so lights and one medium, after you kill them activate the bridge and cross it. Now before you go through the next room drop right and pick up the shells and armor and some clips below you, climb back up the ladder and enter into the next area. Here you will need to deal with a good 3 or 4 lights and a Grenader from the right, dispose of them and head down the steps and make a right into the enclosed area to pick up a small health pack and some shells, head back up and make a left and activate the elevator to exit the Level. (I have to say, this was a rather difficult level mainly because I got assaulted by that damn Impaler when I went to go activate the switch, hopefully you whom follow this guide don't get as messed up as I did.) =========================================================================== Level 4: Interior Hangar Exit the elevator and head down the hallway through the door and make a right through the door make a left and pick up some clips. Now head through the door and wait, here you will need to clear the area of enemies. Destroy the turret and the medic and deal with the lights. There are about 4 lights to deal with, once you have proceed back to the elevator. Here you will meet up with Rhodes who brought some supplies ( Shells, Clips, and a large health) once done you will need to escort Rhodes, so your basic job is to make sure he doesn't get blown up. Now head back out the room and down the hallway and make a left through the door. Next to the door is a health pack some clips, where to go from here. Head right and dispose of the 4 guards, here Rhodes will place his C4 now head back out. CHECKPOINT- The Rhode to demolition! Head out the door and get ready to deal with a Grenader and around 8 to 9 lights. You need to be on your toes since they can come up behind you, so take out the Grenader and pick off all the lights as you can, while trying to not get you and Rhodes killed. Now from here go left and around and then make another left, you will be assaulted by 4 lights and a Grenader. Let Rhodes set up the charges then follow him to the next area. Here you just need to head right make a left and exit through the elevator. (This Level got pretty intense especially with the grenaders and trying to protect someone, I personally dislike escorting type of missions hopefully this is the last.) ============================================================================ Level 5: MCC Landing Site Here you can talk with Strauss and repair your armor, to the left you can pick up some shells and to the right grab some hells, now head out the door. Head straight and make a right, pick up the machine gun and talk with the medic or get the Health Packs in the crates if you need them. Make a left through the door and follow Morris. Head to the left and activate the switch here you'll meet with Voss who will hand you the Grenade Launcher, here to the right you can pick up some shells and clips. CHECKPOINT- Capture the Cannon Here you will be assaulted by some more grenades and lights. Defeat them and follow the group you will find some health and some armor and shells. Climb up the boxes and jump onto the ledge of the door, climb up till your on top of the roof and head right until a Medic pops out, kill him and drop through where he popped out grab health and activate the door to let the squad in. Now turn right until you have to face a grenader and some lights down the hallway. Defeat them and head straight on out, here you will be on a balcony kill the lights and the heavies coming in and jump down, focus on the door and top because some more enemies will pop out. You're looking at a total of around 18 kills or so. Head through the door and turn right and make another right dealing with a grenader and some lights, here you will have captured the cannon and will need to enter the controls to blast a way to the Hannibal Landing site, so hop in. Shoot the door blowing it and the enemies away. Head out and launch a grenade before you exit so you can kill the surprising soldier on the elevator, hop in the elevator and go out and make a right and take care of the Impaler and the light. Now make a right and kill the grenader and head down the corridor and activate the door. There is some health grab it makes a left and activate the door and head to the waving Marine. Now go through the newly opened door and head to the right. CHECKPOINT- Infiltration 2 Head down the room until you meet up with the marine, exit through the door and kill the medic and the lights in the corner. Head around until the huge door opens and head across using the cargo boxes as defense of the turrets. Make it to the other Marines in which the turrets will be destroyed, Enter the Hannibal to exit the level. (This level was pretty easy, a shit load of support but I really didn't like the grenade Launcher so I'll know from here it won't be out of ammo any time soon.) ============================================================================= Level 6: Operation: Advantage Well you have no weapons but your on your ship, yes you're going to feel pretty naked. Head up around the stairs into the Decontamination and to the Rhino Squads Debriefing room. CHECKPOINT: Welcome back Rhino! Head on through and make a right, and head through out the rooms until you reach D.4 Rhine Briefing Room. Enjoy your self and talk with the other marines to see what's up, once your done head left and down the stairs. Then listen to the debriefing. CHECKPOINT- Suit up! From here there is a shotgun on the bench head over to the right to get a Clip Extend icy mod and head on down the hallway and make a right. Then exit the level by getting on the lowering platform. ( This was not but a relaxer back to war.) ============================================================================ Level 7: Canyon Well from here head to the convoy with the marines enter the vehicle this is a rail so just follow along until it stops and you have to face strogg on both sides. The first stop you'll need to deal with around 5 or so strogg until your convoy continues onwards. The second stop is your stop and you're back on your feet. CHECKPOINT- Death coming through Head through the left hallway and make a left then a right then make another right and enter into the next room just head on through until you have to hop onto the next convoy. This Convoy you will be allowed to operate a gun turret so be prepared for a lot of fighting from here on out. This is going to be pretty fun just shoot everything moving and the drop turret, again your convoy will come to a stop. CHECKPOINT- Protect Rhodes Alright this is going to be crazy you are going to be dealing with a lot of medics and grenaders. Your job is to kill the 18 or so medics and grenaders. There are no lights, just protect the Rhodes and your convoy will continue on, in the next area destroy the 2 drop turrets and kill the lights in the next underground path. Your next objective is to destroy all the turrets, this place can be tough since there are so many and missile turrets, so blow down missiles and try to take out all the turrets as you can, There are a lot of missile turrets to take them out and the missiles, you need to be careful of 2 things, 1 you not getting hit because if you do you are instantly killed and secondly your convoy not blowing up. Once you clear the area your convoys will come to the stop and you will need to enter the structure head left into the door to exit the area. (That level was pretty difficult with protecting and the hard controls of the Machine Turret so let's hope the next is slightly easier.) ================================================================================ Level 8: Perimeter Defense Station From here head on around the corner picking up the clips, by the elevator you will now receive the Nail Gun. Things are going to get interesting but head down and meet up with Voss in the control room. You can pick up some shells and clips and some nail ammo you will now need to enter the basement level. Head out and make a left and turn left until the new door opens, in this area a few lights will assault you kill them and go around and activate the switch. This will call the elevator up get on and activate it and go down, grab the health and head left. Go around the railing and activate the gate, now you will be assaulted by a medic and some lights. Dispose of them and head on to the right to activate the switch and grab some health and some shards. When the door opens you will need to dispose of around 8 to 7 lights and then you will be directed to escort the Engineer to the elevator and follow him. CHECKPOINT- Engineer this! Well once you're down the stairs go right, and make another right and then a left and go around you now have to go right and then make a left into the control room. CHECKPOINT- They're up stairs Take the Engineer to the door grab the health and ammo to the right then exit through the newly opened door to be assaulted by another Medic. Go right and activate the wall switch so the Elevator comes down, then enter the elevator and activate it to go up. Go around and drop down and activate the controls. From the control room get ready to kill another medic then head left to grab some ammo, head back out and turn left, some lights will exit the door to the right kill them. Now head to the elevator and go up, kill the 2 lights and the grenader and head up on around. Follow the blood train through the next room and go around the room picking up nail ammunition. The next area you will need to deal with some lights. Kill them and around the corner grab some armor and health and some ammunition and head out the door. Make a left and deal with the Medic and another left through the door and go around until you meet a new enemy (From here on called Mediums) and head up and make a left through the door. Head around and take out the Medic from behind and head to the elevator and go up. Head left to activate the door to exit the level. ( :( A lot of my friends died here and I had to deal with all the strogg alone this wasn't to difficult of a mission but there were sure a lot of medics.) ================================================================================ ===== Level 9: Aqueducts In the next area you'll get an increase of fire for your nail gun from Holtz. Head on out of the elevator and head to the right to exit the door. Enter the Hover tank and get ready. ( The Hover Tank pretty much operates like you do, you can switch between machine gun and cannon like you would any other weapon and you can zoom. It does handle quite sluggish but the shields replenish so that is good) Upon exiting you will need to deal with missile shooting flying enemies which will now be referred to as Icarus's. Use your cannon up close and person to kill them, then head on around the left to the gate. Once in the gate go around the path and destroy all the drop turrets that come down, enter the next gate and kill the grenaders. In the next area you will need to deal with 3 icarus's and another new enemy now referred to as Heavies, Now head on through the gate. CHECKPOINT- Fun lots of fun This huge area like area you'll deal with 3 icarus's 2 heavies and about 6 new enemies which are known from here on out as Mobile Units. Destroy them and go on out down the long road, you'll be attacked by Mobile Units and some Grenaders, destroy the 2 turrets on the bridge and run over the other enemies and then make a right to exit the level. (Level was pretty fun thought it took some time getting use to the hover tank.) ================================================================================ ======== Level 10: Aqueducts Annex Right off the bat you'll do battle with a huge enemy that fires missiles and can toss tanks around. This enemy is called the Arachnid, just strafe around and shoot your cannon destroying it, from here head on around to the right. CHECKPOINT- Hello der! Once in the aqueduct shoot the cannon at the bridge to kill a few of their units and on the bottom by the fire and make your way around. Head on around destroying the Drop Turrets that come through the roof, once out side deal with around 5 Icarus's and head on through the path. This continues for a while; just keep repeating this process in the next few areas. CHECKPOINT- Spider Web In the next area you'll have to deal with 2 arachnids-. Use the structure to block off their missiles. This battle can be pretty difficult so what you need to do is very simple, stay away avoid close combat and switch constantly between your weapons. The missiles being shot out don't do a lot of damage if you shoot them down, with either the cannon when in close range, or the bullets from afar. Since you have to fight from long distances your cannon will be pretty tough to use, so rely on the machine gun to take it out, if you have an opportunity to use the cannon use it. use this strategy on both of the arachnids. Head on into the complex. CHECKPOINT- Regroup! Head up to the marines to exit the level. ================================================================================ ======== Level 11: Nexus Hub Tunnels Once you get off the elevator, get any supplies you need. Armor and weapons and head through the door and make a left and take care of the lights from the left. Go on left and then turn right into the new room. You will then need to escort Strauss to mess with the temperature device so you all can proceed. Head to the right door when you first came in, from here go forward into the next room where there is around 3 lights and one chain gun Medium. Head on into the next area where you will be attacked by another light and a medic kill them and head left then turn right through the door. Head around to pick up some health and ammunition, here Strauss will remain, you will need to take out some new enemies also referred to as ( Air Guards) they will come out in floods, but your nail gun should take care of them, from here head back to your team. Checkpoint- Into the Freezer On your way out you'll be attacked by a light and an Impaler kill them and make a right, Go into the next room and take out all the lights and the 1 medic. Once through this area go through and to the left you will be blind sided by an Impaler kill it and head out turning right grabbing health and supplies and heading down the hallway disposing of all the enemies. Head on in and around the left where you will need to deal with 2 impalers. Head on around the left and take out the lights on the bridge and by the boxes and you will also need to deal with a Medium with a huge laser. Kill them and make your way around and pick up the armor shards. Then turn right into the door and go deactivate the shield. From here head right and make a left out the door. The next door you will need to deal with 2 air units and after this another 2 Air units will appear. Kill them and make your way to the controls then up the stairs disposing of the infantry that comes at you including one medium. Kill them and head all the way down the hall to pick up some supplies of armor and nails, then hop down onto the pipes and make a left through the door. Reunite with your unit only to be attacked by an Arachnid. CHECKPOINT- Destroy it manually! Well go down the crate and crawl through the shaft way until you reach the next area with the Arachnid, you can't reach the other side but you do infract pick up a hyper blaster. Head on down and turn right and head down until you need to deal with the Air Units then jump and turn right and make your way out of the underground passage. Head up the ladder and destroy the 3 AU and go around and up the pipes. Once you get off collect the armor and go around and out the door and take out the Air Units and cross the bridge. In the next room kill the AU and then go into the next room and deal with an Impaler followed by some lights. There is a grenader and a Turret kill them and go across the stairs to the other side, make a left and pick up a lot of nail gun ammo and health, go back up and down the middle and exit the level. (Most of Rhino Squad just got killed so I'm rather sad now, but being assaulted by so many enemies is really pissing me off about now. I'm still sticking to my good shotgun) ================================================================================ =========== Level 12: Nexus Hub Head right into the elevator and go down; here you will need to go right to meet up with Strauss and left through the door. Your objective is to find the power plant. Head on through the door to be assaulted by 2 Air Units, cross the bridge and enter through the door. To the left you will be attacked by 2 Medics and some lights dispose of them and make a right. Head on across the room and make a left to pick up some batteries for the Hyper Blaster, head back down and exit through the door. Here you will need to deal with a grenader and some lights and 2 Air Units, in the corner you can get some shells, head to the right to pick up some armor. Once Strauss is done head back down to deal with another Medium, and then go out the door. Make a left to deal with a light and an Impaler. Head on out to deal with another AU and through the door back to the Tetra node. CHECKPOINT- Strauss N Me 1 light and grenader will pop out from the opposing door. Head through the door where the other enemies came from and deal with a medic and a grenader. On the right you can pick up some health, clips and some shells. Head on around and deal with a Medium head forward to pick up some shells. Turn right and go up the stairs and head left to gather some health and armor then go down the hallway and deal with another medic, some lights. Go around to the left and make another left to pick up some shells then head down the hallway from there and go into the elevator and activate it. Once you get off head to the left to maximize all your ammo, there is so much there and a bunch of health. If doesn't sign off something bad I don't know what does. Head left through the room and then make a right until you see the control switch. GO down activate it and get ready for a fight with 2 enemies that I'm calling Black Widows. These 2 shoot flames and missiles so don't worry about attacking them both at once. Focus on one then the other; after you kill them...you will deal with the macro. You can't defeat it just try to survive. (That was one hell of the fight, sadly we lose.) ================================================================================ ========== Level 13: Strogg Medical Facilities Welcome to their medical facilities if you haven't noticed their creations then you know they are about to really...fuck you up. You have no control just let it go on. CHECKPOINT- What...WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO ME! Well now you're a Strogg, and you get 25+ to health and you seem a lot faster, follow them while picking up your weapons. Go through the main gate and head left following Anderson. Go around the corridor on the right one you can pick up some clips, head to the left and head on through the door. Here your friend Anderson will be taken away by this weird ass looking enemies now called. Doctors, watch out as they have poisonous gas kill the 2, in between the first medical unit and the second is your new Health Station. Now you know what these are for, on top of being strogg you can now read their writing. Head on out through either door and pick the nail gun and deal with the grenader and the lights. Head to the left to pick up a health pack and then go out turn left and out the door. Ride the belt into the next room and deal with the enemies, go around and call for the lift. Once the elevator comes down kill the Grenader on it and then activate it. Upon exiting the elevator you'll pick up the rocket launcher which will come in handy. Kill the Penetrator, and head out and deal with the lights and the one Medium. Head around and get ready for a shit load of killing. A Doctor, 2 impalers. A few grenaders and another Medium. There is a health station in here as well so use it when you need to. Destroy the medium and pick up the armor and so forth then head back down. You'll need to head through the doors to be assaulted by a few lights and a grenader. Go around the stair case to meet up with another soldier but is blocked in so head back down and make aright and take care of the Impaler. Go in through the door and activate the lift. Head out and deal with the 3 lights. Go up the stairs and make a left and pick up the health kit and hop on the belt. If you want before that head back down and crawl under the wall go up the ladder to get some armor, rockets and some grenades. Head back out and get on the belt and head left but don't get pushed off get off to meet with Rhino Squad. CHECKPOINT- They went off without hitch Head down the steps and take out the Impaler head out and make a right and go through the double doors to pick up some health and armor, head back out and go through the door down the room and activate the lift. Go into the next room and deal with the lights and the doctor and the grenader on your right. Now once you cleared the room you can head right down the sta.0irs and deal with the 2 grenaders waiting. Go in through the door to pick up the rocket launcher head back out and head all the way down the hall and go through the right into the door and kill the 2 doctors. Use the Health Station then head to the right of the room through the door. And head left to go through the door to pick up some armor and shield head back down the other way and deal with an Impaler and go through the door. Deal with some lights and crawl down into the underground passage, collect shards of armor and hyper blaster. Head to the room of a bright light once here you'll deal with a spawner (This enemy will spawn like 5 to 6 enemies) deal with 2 of them and then go and exit the level. (Well you're now an official strogg and from what we have gathered you are going to have hell. ================================================================================ =============== Level 14: Construction Zone Head out side and head to the left to pick up some grenades, health, armor and a hyper blaster get down and hop into the Mech like vehicle. Vehicle works much like the convoy, you got missiles and bullets. From here go forward you will need to deal with some small enemies on the bridge shoot missiles and take them out, next you'll have to deal with 2 icarus's and 2 mobile units kill them and head forward and left down the valley into the underground passage. Once in deal with 3 lights and 1 grenader and 2 mediums. Kill them then make your way around and make a left and take out the 2 grenaders who will come out on your way out. Exit the gates and take care of the lights and the 2 drop turrets. Head on around the road and deal with the 1 Icarus's which pops head out till you reach the long canyon and deal with the 2 heavies which pop out, from here continue on your way. Deal with other 2 drop turrets and head on through the gates. CHECKPOINT- Air assault In the next area kill all the enemies which come from the side, then exit the gates but don't exit fully deal with the air crafts coming at you and use the inside as cover. Head on out deal with another heavy and some ways a head 2 more drop turrets. Head on down the valley in through the next gates and deal with another drop turret and 1 Icarus's. Head on into the next tunnel and deal with some grenaders and 2 drop turrets. Head back out to deal with more enemies and 2 more lights then head left. Head a little further and make a right and deal with 2 more Icarus's and some more Mobile Units. Now go around and yet again some more grenaders and lights with a heavy and a drop turret kill them and head on left. Go down and make another left. CHECKPOINT- Pest Extermination Now you will need to deal with an arachnid, use the building as an obstacle and shoot your missiles off at it till you destroy it, on your way down you will need to jump out and head right down the bridge. Then make a left to exit the level. (This was a pretty fun level no?) ================================================================================ ================== Level 15: Dispersal Facility Well now you have to deal with others like you, which I am simply going to call rejects. In the next area you need to deal with 4 of them and one medium. Defeat them and pick up the Rail Gun ( This is a sweet weapon, use it only when you need it as there isn't to much ammo.) and pick up the health scattered about if you had any trouble with any of the enemies. Go around to the right and activate the door and take out the lights that will appear around 5 of them, make a left and activate the call switch for the elevator and head up, now exit the door and shoot the explosive barrel, don't pay attention to the Arachnid. Then crawl under the broken roof and head through the door. Head down and take out the light and the 2 lights down the hallway, pick up some rockets and clips and go to the left to use a health station. Now head down the hallway and make a left and take out 2 more lights but be careful of the explosive barrel. Then head through the door and take care of the medic coming up the elevator shaft. Pick up the Batteries on the farthest left through the elevator and then shimmying across the ledge then go to the middle elevator and call the lift and get ready to deal with a grenader, kill him and enter and activate the lift down. Once you get off switch to your rocket launcher and take out the grenader on the walkway, then head right but once you see the door open launcher a rocket killing the lights in the room, enter and exit into the next room. Here you will deal with a medic and a light, then head to the left down the room into the door. Here deal with 3 lights and one medium then head down the hallway make a right then a left and out the door before you do, on the last part of the room pick up a health kit to the left then proceed out. Head up around the stairs and take out the Grenader then exit through the top door. CHECKPOINT-Over the fence! In the next room a medic will try to assault you back up and blast away when he comes through the ceiling then head out and towards the right. Here you will need to fight your way down stairs; there are around 5 rejects and 1 grenader. The problem here is that there are a shit load of explosives so you need to be careful, I was extremely careful mainly because I was in the red. There is a med kit down here also, once you kill them you can pick up some rail gun ammo and hyper blaster ammo. Then exit through the door and pick up the Rail Gun on the box, you can also use the Health Station if your low on health, from here head right down the pipes and another right through the door. Head to the left and deal with a grenader and exit through the door. Head on to the left and go down the really disgusting hallway, and make a right. This place is rather gruesome but head around to the right and up the stairs and turn off the controls then head back and up and turn off the Voltage Controls. Then head back around to the other stairs to turn off the other set of controls. Now take out the repairers which will come to try and repair the weird contraption, after that go under it and crouch and go through the tunnel. (I didn't like this level, kind of made my stomach turn mainly cause of some food but eh...) ================================================================================ ================= Level 16 : Recomposition Center Head to the right and left up the stairs making another right, kill the grenader and go activate the switched here you'll meet up with a member of the Kodiak Squad whom is a tech who will add a zoom on your nail gun and replenish your armor. From here go down and make a right up the stairs and head down the hallway and make a left and go out the door. Here you will be instructed to activate the barrel processing just go down the room to the right and through the door. Head left and deal with 3 lights head left and up and take care of the medic with a rocket launcher head up some ways and take care of the grenader and the lights. Go to the right and go up the stairs and take care of the 1 Impaler and the light then exit through the door. Here you can pick up the Lightning Gun and then go around the dead marine. GO out the door to the right make a left take care of the 2 guards go to the left and take care of the medic another few lights. Down you can pick up some supplies and use the health station. Head right and make a left activating the controls. Now you need to activate the sterilization controls, their downstairs so head that way and out the door. CHECKPOINT- Sterilization Process. From here go down the stairs and take out the medic and the lights, then to the left up on between the 2 construction looking columns are some rejects. Take them out and head down the stairs and take care of the lights and a reject and another Impaler, there will be an opening on the walkway with a ladder head down to pick up some nails. Then to the right are some batteries by the barrels. Here on head left into the door the Impaler came through and exit through the next room. It is going to get rough depending on your life, first you need to go up the stairs just a bit when you have to take on 5 rejects and one medium, kill them and head left to pick up a health large pack, then go left turn right and by the explosive barrel is another health pack, use then head right down the stairs and make a left. Enter the next room, to the right is a health station continue and make a left then go around to pick up some shards, nails and health, go to the controls and activate it. Then go back out to deal with another weird ass enemy. Were Going to call these Elites. These guys carry homing Nail Guns like you just received, don't even play with this guy take out the Lighting Gun and give this guy a volt. Once you killed him head back out and around and in the next area you will have some rejecters and lights kill them and head through the barrel processing control room make a left and make your way back to the tech guy, Head out you will have to deal with an Impaler and some lights. Head back out to lose the good old tech guy, now you have to control the barrels your self. This is very simple. Activate it, it drops down the platform, you send it up it takes the barrels, you bring it back jump on the controls then on the barrels to get on the walk way, follow suit and kill the medic then drop down towards the right. This will end this level. (Well the levels are getting slightly more challenging but nothing that I couldn't handle with some of my survival techniques.) ================================================================================ ==================== Level 17: Putrification Center Ride the belt around, and try not to get knocked off when you see the 2 doors open slide off to the left to pick up some health and get back on the belt. Once you get past here you will need to deal with extremely fast barrels so try to get by and knocked off, the next area this machine will come together so once they come apart dash through, the next area are those things that stab you, when the first one goes back up dash on through and wait for the next one to go up and enter through. The next area is the damn things which took away your legs. Head to the left to pick up some slugs and nails. Then just go to the right and don't get killed. That is you could go straight down to the cargo box and hop on over to the next belt. The next area you need to drop down right and duck, once you get to the next area again you have to deal with flame throwers. Drop down to the right to pick up some armor and health and some shells then go back up the ladder. Head on through to deal with those spikes again so don't just rush out the door. In the next area you will need to jump to the right and make another right upon the belt through the door. Then it is just easy riding from here on out. CHECKPOINT- No more rides for me.... On your way across the belt 2 lights will attack you kill them then back up and run and jump to land safely. Head to the left to pick up some batteries and some health. Head on through the door and take care of the light and there is a station to the left and some health on the boxes as well, head down the stairs and take care of another light. A rejects will appear with a grenader, kill them and head right and make a left up the stairs and make your way down the hall. Take care of the 2 rejects and pick up the rail gun some health and some clip. Head left through the door and deal with a medic. Head out that door and deal with a grenader and get ready to run like hell, just run all the way around trying not to get hit by the extendable claws, activate the switch and go through the window which was broken by the creature, head on out through the door and head around and go into the next room, go around the room and down the stairs and make a right and go down another set of stairs. If you need health from being beat down by the creature grab one on the barrel, go down and make a left then another left and head right out the door, go around to the controls and activate it. Now head all the way back down to the first floor, and head to the middle and head down and go right and jump over and head down and take care of the reject, grab the supplies and head through the next door. Deal with the 2 lights to the right and the one in the front then run and jump around to the left so you can enter the door. Enter to deal with 2 grenaders and around 6 or so lights. From your entrance there is a supply box, go around to pick up some ammunition now head around until you pass the hole in the wall then enter the room, before exiting go all the way around to pick up some slugs and health then jump in. (Well out of the Levels I have played so far, I definitely died the most of this once simply for retarded things.) ================================================================================ ======================== Level 18: Waste Processing Facility Talk with the marine then head right pick up the clip and follow suit until you have to deal with a new enemy, Zombies who spray acid. Head right in both paths to pick up some ammunition and some Shards then make a right and then go around taking out the zombies. In the next area zombies going to be popping all over the place so take them out. Once you finished with them there is a health Pack by one of the pools, head through the path and take out more zombies. To be quite frank, be ready to be killing constantly as they appear out of no where. Head left and around, deal with the Zombie with the gun and make a right and go up the stairs make a left and a right and deal with 2 zombies. Head to the next area, this place is being cleaned constantly so try to avoid being killed And head all the way down turning left to find another dead marine and some ammo then go up the ladder. CHECKPOINT- Get me out please... Head to the right to pick up some grenades, head on down and deal with 4 rejections and the ones on the left, The left door has some health and ammunition, to the left toggle the bridge and head on Down through the door to pick up some shards and health. Then go across the bridge, Head across and make a right and pick up some Lighting Coils. Now go back down and turn right to deal with another Reject and grab some ammunition and health and go all the way back up through the door on your left and deal with another Rejected, Go on through and to the right you can pick up some Shells and batteries. Head on around and fall down the bridge, take out the zombies and make your way through most of the horror until you meet up with the marine again. CHECKPOINT- Reservoir Dogs Head up the stairs and make a right and enter through the door and deal with the rejects down the hall, there is around 6 or 7 of them. Kill them and head all the way up into the room, kill the Reject on the other side of the cargo, and then pick up the large health and some batteries. Head on out and make a right across the bridge. Then enter the door and activate the switch to the right but Before that use the Health station then head out the door to deal with a few Rejects and 1 Grenader. This is one hell of a battle, a few of them are equipped with Hyper Blasters, so you definitely Want to take cover here, once your finished head across the bridge and enter through the door. Head on across the next bridge and make a left around the cargo boxes to pick up some health, from Here make another left downwards. Jump down to the right to pick up some clips and enter the little space for some armor, head back up the ladder and past the structure and make a left through the Door. Now you'll meet up with some of the Cobra squad, telling you about the security and how you need to get through. The tech will mod your Rocket Launcher of Missile seek, and you can find some Clips and some batteries in the little cargo box. head on up and make a left to pick up the Lightning Coil then head on through the laser security and quick save. Boss Battle: Voss HOLY SHIT! WHAT DID THEY DO TO ME? WHAT THE HECK DID THEY DO TO YOU? This battle is going to be tough, so be prepared to die unless you follow this strategy. Voss is dangerous mainly because he is armed with the DAMG (Dark Anti Matter Gun) this weapon is the end, If you even get hit your dead. Fortune as it would have, it is rather easy to dodge, but on the down side since you will be staffing a lot you may get stuck in the way and get hit by this weapon. This is a beast of a weapon, so always keep your distance from this. His second is the Lightning Gun which isn't too much trouble; he rarely used it on me but again if you have used this weapon then You already know the damage it has caused. Now the next attack he has is the homing rockets, when he fires these just jump and dodge them all, you don't want to get hit and from my experience these Are the most deadly of his weapons? So don't think hiding around a corner is going to save you, because it won't. Now that we got the attacks out of the way once the battle starts take out the Lightning Gun, and start zapping him you'll notice his shield will go down, while it is down he will recharge his Shield along with spawning some lights to take care of you, once this happens switch to the hyper blaster and deal with the lights. Once you have them out of the way head all the way around to the Right to pick up some batteries and health, now repeat the same step, use the lightning gun and he will go here to recharge, he will spawn more enemies. So deal with them with the hyper blaster. Now That he has recharged, yet again do the same strategy. Just go around zapping him, finally he will go and recharge for the last time when this happens you'll hear Voss talking. Deal with the lights And go around, now by this time your Lightning should be rather zapped if not, take out his shield. Once you take it out the third time he won't recharge anymore, and the fight just gets simply easier. In the top left room you can grab another health pack, this time just stick to rockets and Grenades. This will finish him off, just angle the grenades so he gets hit and fire the multi rocket, and he will fall. Now while this strategy seems rather simple, I do suggest you quick save when he is about to charge the third time just in case, because you need to keep in mind you have a DAMG against you and homing rockets along with the walls which want to kill you as well, once you Finish him you can precede. CHECKPOINT- TAPS Now from here go around to the left of where you came in and grab some rockets, and head up stairs to activate the force field to be brought down. Now head back down the stairs and meet up with the Other marines make sure you get your health and armor fixed and proceed to the top left and through the door. Then take out the reject behind the pole, and then take out the rejects up on the stairs, head on up and deal with an Impaler, you can find some Nail ammo in here, then head up around the left up the stairs deal with the Impaler who comes down and the rejects above. Now head left up the Stairs and deal with the 2 rejects then go around to the right through the door. Then exit the level. (Well for your first boss battle it sure was tough, but it is only going to get just as hard from here on out.) ================================================================================ ============================ Level 19: Operation-Last Hope Well you are being studied by your medical team; head out to the right to report for briefing. CHECKPOINT- Is the war getting that bad? Head on through the right door, and go around and make a left through the briefing room and down the stairs into the briefing room. Well here you will be briefed about the upcoming assault on the Nexus, after that is done head out the room. CHECKPOINT- Poor Kane :( Head out to the left through the armory room and get a clip mod for your shotgun. Now head out to the right make a left and head out through the drop pod doors. Then make another left another right Then go around pod 12 and exiting the level. (Another Relaxer for the fight ahead.) ================================================================================ ============================ Level 20: Data Storage Terminal CHECKPOINT: Crash Landing! get up and head on out and make a left through the doors and head through the door and take care of the Medic who will jump you then head left and make a right and deal with the 3 or 4 rejects and The 1 Grenader then make a right out the door, then head down and jump onto the pipe with the armor. Then follow it through and jump over to head off and make another left through the door. Deal With the medic and then activate the lift, Go up and head across the pipes into the next area. CHECKPOINT: Don't die now.... Head on in and check with the soldier, pick up some health and ammunition and head right into the door and activate the repair bot. Then drop down and head behind where you came in, don't worry about the medic he'll die, quickly make your way to the right and head through the door, you'll see some repair bots around a weapon, be ready destroy them all and take the DAMG and then get ready To take on around 8 or so lights, kill them and make your way to the right side of the room through the door. Head back and stock up on some Lightning Coils and other Ammunitions. Then go around And activate the lift. Then head down to exit the level. (This wasn't too much fighting but more about just getting around all the destruction) ================================================================================ ============================ Level 21: Data Storage Security Well as you go down the elevator you will get a mod to your rail gun which increases its power and the penetration. Which is always good since this weapon is definitely going to be used down once You are off the elevator go around and exit through the door. Head down the hallway and make a left and make a right through the door. In the next room to your left you can pick up some ammunition and health then from here go all the way down and make a right, in this room you can find a health station and make a left through the door and head down the hallway. To the right is some Ammunition for numerous weapons especially some rockets, head back down the hallway and make a right through the door into the next room. Just head on down and make a left but then you will have to Deal with another new enemy. The Iron maiden who can teleport, kill her with the nail gun and continue to the control panel. Head on out and deal with another Iron Maiden kill her and activate the Door and deal with the rejects that will be coming out and go inside and deal with another iron maiden, head out the door and head on down and deal with another Iron Maiden. Head to the right to Deal with 2 spawners. This would be a very good time to use that DAMG and take out the iron maiden and head out to the right. Go through the door and deal with yet another Iron Maiden and make a Left and deal with 2 rejects whom will follow out the door. Then head all the way down and make a left and grab the armor, go our through the left through the door. Here to the right of you is yet Another Iron Maiden, damn there are a lot. Kill her and make your way around through the door and take care of 2 iron maidens, then go into the elevator to exit the level. (That wasn't very tough for being so late in the game now was it?) ================================================================================ ========================== Level 22: Data Storage Terminal II Once out grab some lightning coils and shells and head to the left and out the door, here you will need to deal with an Impaler, kill it and head right and out the door. Here you'll need to deal With another Grenader, kill him and call the lift. Go up and out the door and make your way down the hall, and go through the door that says hanger and activate the bridge. Head across the bridge And make a left and kill the Grenader and go up the stairs and out the door. Here you will need to activate the doors, hit the control panel and head right and call the lift. Then go onto the lift And go down and exit the door calling another lift and going up. Once you get off the lift head out to the left through the door. CHECKPOINT- GUILTY! Well get ready to fight 2 very strong enemies. These enemies have flame throwers and can take a lot of damage so what you need to do is stay as far away and don't get backed into the corner, Use What ever weapons you can to kill them fast. DAMG or something fast but be warned they take a lot of damage, I would stick with the rail gun since it penetrates but only when far away since it's Reloading takes forever. Once you killed these enemies whom we'll going to call Judges. Head on to the back and use the health station then head around and call the lift, once it reaches get on and Head on to the top. Then activate the Hangar Doors then head back down. Then head on around back up to the hangars. head on around and get your Hyper Blaster Modified for bouncing shots and then head out the door and down the stairs. Now head out and across the bridge into the Roof-SS, kill the medic whom will try to assault you. Go up the stairs and exit through the left and go down the Stairs in the left of the room you can get some ammunition. You want to activate the elevator. You will be ambushed by some rejects kill them and the medic whom emerges then go up to the roof. Once You get off exit and head left, in the next area there is a health station if you need it. Head left and exit through the doors and head on around to the elevator. From here you will go up and Exit the doors and welcome to the roof tops. CHECKPOINT- Arg heights Head on through and deal with the Rejects whom get dropped off, head on straight forward and activate the console then head back down and head on back. Then go down the elevator to exit the level. (Why are the levels near the end getting easier?) ================================================================================ =========================== Level 23: Tram Hub Station Head on out and around the corridor until you need to deal with 2 lights and 1 Grenader. Now go through the door to deal with 2 impalers whom will come from both right and left drag them into the Next room and kill them. Now go back to the room the 2 impalers came from and deal with a few lights and judges, now head on down the hallway and make a left to pick up some Dark Matter Cores and Then head out to the left through the doors to meet up with another squad. Head on to the left when another transport will drop off some rejects, kill them and head on around to where the rejects Were dropped off and pick up some shards and health. Now from here head to the door in the bottom left in which you will get the lightning mod which will make your lightning gun switch multiple Targets. When they hit one, so if one target is by the one getting hit, it will pass through him hitting the other. Well now go through the doors and deal with the rejects and the Grenader. Make Sure you get healed up by the medic and the tech. Now go left and activate the lift. Once you're up on the next floor take care of the 2 impalers. Now go into the next room and activate the bridge Controls, then head back down and go back outside. Now once outside deal with a few lights, a Grenader and a Grenader. Kill them then from where you came out jump over to the bridge, now head to The bridge and head right through the door and take out the light trying to kill you. Now exit and shoot the DAMG out side killing the rejects, go to the right to pick up some armor shards and hop Down on the pipes and head right and get on the support beam. Now head left all the way down and jump up to the left and pick up the lightning coils and head all the way straight to the door and Enter. In the next area deal with the 5 or 4 lights and head right to pick up some slugs then head out into the room and to the right you can pick up some rockets. Here you will go right and exit Through the door and get on the lift and go down. You'll meet up with Cortez, from here head left through the door and deal with the 2 grenaders and the lights. To the left you can pick up some Health and ammunition then make your way down the hall. Now exit and deal with some rejects and a judge. Now exit and make a right and deal with more rejects and a Medium. Kill them and activate The expanders and head across through the door. To the right you can pick up some more ammunition once you have head left and go through the door and kill the lights that come in. Head to the left To use the Health Station then exit through the left. Here is the controls for the tram, go to the controls and head the button on the left, then exit through the door to the right grab some coils And head down the ladder, go up and head around to the construction lift and head right down. Now make a right and you'll see a spawners, hop over the cargo boxes and head right. Crouch down and Pick up the shards on the left and head on through to the other side and make a left and exit. You'll deal with a medic, and from the top a Grenader will appear. Kill him and head to the left to Pick up some health kits then go around the right and into the door, kill the Impaler on the left and the one on the right while picking up health. Then a light will appear on the door on the left Kill him and enter through the door. Take out the spawners and his friends and go through the tunnel make a left activate the Plate Feed System then go around without getting killed and make a left. Then activate the door go through and go to the right and jump on until it lefts one of the platforms up. Get off and go to the right and through the door to pick up some armor, head back out and Head through the other door, in which you'll need to deal with a reject to the left and a bunch straight on. Kill them and head left into the door that says Repair Bot Controls. Go in and activate, Head back out and get on the lift and head back down and meet up with Cortez to Exit the level. (Hmm this level was tough but nothing I couldn't get through with my handy dandy lighting gun.) ================================================================================ ========================= Level 24: Tram Rail This level is fun as hell, just shoot down the planes behind you and all the enemies coming around the Tram Rails. Some of them carry rail guns just never let go and shoot away at all the enemies Blowing them up until the level exits. This is a real short level and was a nice break from all the fighting. ================================================================================ ========================= Level 25: Data Processing Terminal Well this was the end with Cortez, head on down picking up lighting coils, rockets and some armor and exit through the door. Then call the lift, once the lift arrives get on and head up. CHECKPOINT- Make it to the top! Once you exit the elevator head left and activate the bridge head across and to the left is some health and to the right is some rocket ammo, pick what you need and exit through the door. Head on Up and take out the grenader, to the right is some health so pick it up and proceed out the door. Take out the rejects which teleport in along with the Medium. Kill them and head on through the Door and on to the bridge and activate the power. Head back out and get ready to deal with some spawners, judges, and some iron maidens. Kill them and head on out and deal with all the Rejects whom Enter the room, there is some health on the left and if you had some trouble with the squad of enemies take them out. Take down each swarm of rejects then exit to meet up with Sledge. Now head down And activate the bridge and enter the next area. Go around to the controls and cal the lift and grab some nails and armor. CHECKPOINT- I Hate waiting.... Well you'll going to deal with a lot of rejects and 3 black widows. So take out the lightning gun and DAMG and annihilate them all. Well actually just kill them and exit through the elevator. (Levels are starting to get hard; I take back what I said on 22) ================================================================================ =========================== Level 26: Data Processing Security You now have to realign the nodes so you can get to the top, head out picking up the coils and head right down the hall. CHECKPOINT-Nodes... Head on down and take out the 2 rejects and the 1 grenader and go through the door and take out the rejects and the Iron Maiden and around the column you can find some DAMG ammo. Go all the way Down and make a right to pick up some health then head and call the lift on the left. Then go down and exit and head right taking out the 2 grenaders and the 5 or so rejects, go up the stairs to The right and make a left to pick up some ammunition and health then head out to the left and around to pick up some lightning rods. Then go back to the controls and flip the nodes around. Then go Back down and make a left through the Doors taking out the Air Units then go right. Head on down picking up the health and nails and out the door and make another left. Now go around and up to the Controls and open the seal. Once you do an Iron Maid will appear, so kill her. Once you do go down and head right around and activate the lift. Go up and around until you reach the Nodes control Panel. You need to have the laser hitting he door in front of you. The Middle bottom node controls the laser and the ones surrounding it are what you need to configure so it hits the door. The bottom middle should have the laser going right, the next one the laser should go in and out to the node next to it, this doe will need to shoot the laser across to the left middle node, and This node will need to shoot it up to the top left node which will shoot it to the middle node which will hit the door. Now form here head through the newly opened door. CHECKPOINT- Nodes...2 In the next room go around the pipes and head through the door and take care of the Air Unit then go around taking out the Rejections and the Impaler and the grenader. Make your way down and Another Air Unit will appear, kill it and head down taking out the rejections. I would advise the DAMG and the Rail Gun for this appear, head on down and take out the Last air Unit and head onwards Down the corridor. Take out the enemy who comes down the lift and get on and go up and take out the medium that comes around the corner. Take the Armor to the left and once your done killing the Medium use the Health Station. Head on down and make a left into the next room and take out the 2 Iron Maidens. Once down lower the lift down and go through the door. You'll deal with some lights 2 iron maidens and 2 judges. Kill them and proceed on and around picking up the shards and some ammunition into the elevator. Activate it and wait until you can get off and exit the door and make a Right into the next room and get some rockets to the right and health and armor to the left. Now head on down past the rockets and go around the corridor until you reach the lift activate the lift And exit. CHECKPOINT- Roof top battle! Once you get out you'll have to deal with 2 heavies and one medium, this is your first time dealing with heavies on foot. So use your rocket launcher and kill them, with the medium let Sledge handle The medium, once the mediums attention is to him launch all the grenades and kill him, then head all the way down to the controls. Now you need to head back to the tram station just head on back To the elevator and exit the level. (This was one chaotic level, but those heavies sure are harder on foot then they were in a vehicle.) ================================================================================ ============================ Level 27: Data Processing Terminal II There is nothing to this level, just go down and activate the lift go out and enter the tram. ================================================================================ ============================ Level 28: Data Networking Terminal Once you get off the tram, gather all the ammo, shards, and everything around you and proceed through the doors. Now activate the lift system and wait and exit the lift and kill the light. CHECKPOINT- Lights out Now all these medics, impalers, and rejections will be teleported into the room. This is a good time to use the DAMG here once finished exit through the door to the right and activate the bridge Controls on the left then make youth way across the bridge, CHECKPOJNT- Fight up stairs.... In the next room there is a health station to the right, to the left you need to use the controls to call the left. Once the lift comes down you'll need to deal with a grenader, then some rooms Will open up with rejections. Destroy the Teleporters and the enemies and board the lift. Once you reach the next floor you'll need to deal with a judge, kill him and the Teleporters. Head out Through the door and take out the 2 teleports and the grenaders who follow. There is some armor to the left so pick that up, once your done proceed through the door. CHECKPOINT- Does it stop? Nope it doesn't stop... In the next room you'll have an Impaler attack you and some rejections come from the Teleporters to the right take that out, then head around and take the other Teleporters out, while trying not to be Killed by the enemies. There will be a medium that comes in so use the force window to stay alive and lob grenades around. Go through the door to the right and make another right and enter the Teleporters. (Least none of the marines I was with died this time but now that I am on my own I know some crazy shit is about to go down.) ================================================================================ ========================= Level 29: Data Network Security Head up to the right and haggle your way up into the upper floor and then go into the room, jump your way across the bridge and a Grenader will appear on the right, kill him and use the health Station. Now head out and deal with an Impaler and mostly lights and rejections. Kill them and take out the Teleporters. Head on out the door and attack the flying beast that has for some time been Owning the hell out of your force. Then crouch and go under the rubble and exit through the right CHECKPOINT-MAYDAY! From here jump onto the pipes and make your way across the pipes and leap over and go through the door to your left. Head around and take out the 2 rejections and then exit the door and take out 2 Impalers. Now head around to the left and crouch and go in and climb out and make your way to the lift and activate it. Then make a left and take out the Teleporters and get some shards, head back out and head the other way, once through the doors you can pick up some supplies then go around into the lift and activate it. CHECKPOINT- Like I didn't see this coming.... BOSS BATTLE: Network Security Boss Well from all that was going on you would think this boss would be crazy hard. This guy may be a huge but with a shit load of ammo you can deal with him. Understand this guy has missile attacks, jet attack, and the rocket attacks. This means this guy isn't a close ranged fighter. You have a lot of open space and from the get go he will land, you need to take out that lightning gun and zap His ass while not dieing from the jet and his attacks. He will eventually take off shooting missiles which can blow you right off the roof. When he is in the sky switch to the hyper blaster or the Rockets. When he is about to land shot the Dark Matter gun so it can drain some of his life, there are supplies around the roof so if you're low on health pick one up. You just need to continue this strategy of zapping him when he's down, shooting hyper blasts and rockets when he is in the sky and shooting the Dark Matter Gun when he is about to land, he will fall and die and you can reign Supreme! CHECKPOINT- Pfff my firewall was better. Make your way down to the controls and activate them then head all the way down to the Teleporters and exit the level. (This might be one of the craziest levels but I did expect more out of the network security boss.) ================================================================================ ============================ Level 30: Nexus Core Now go straight and make a left and go down and make a right just to have the door shut right in your face, here you will be ambushed by rejects and a Judge. So have your DAMG ready and fire at the rejects and use your grenader launcher to take care of the judge, once you killed them proceed up the steps and make a left killing 2 or so more rejects. Head to the left and disable the security system. Then head right, until you come to a health station and some supplies. Heal up and enter the next room dealing with the light, then take out the DAMG and shoot it towards the oncoming enemies. This will take out most of them it might leave one Rejection with a Rail Gun and the Judge. Take them out then head to the left and it's on the left side on your way there and activates the lift. On your way down you'll be bombarded by lights, so kill them until you reach the bottom. Once you reach the bottom you'll have to take out 2 Iron Maids and one medium, kill them and gather the health and head on around, before you exit gather the supplies next to the door and head on through. In the next room are 2 spawners, kill them and head to the Health Station if you need it. Now head on around the right up the stairs into the door. CHECKPOINT- Rejected Head on to the left and have your rail gun ready, take out each team of Rejection that comes through. The rail gun will kill them both in one shot, continue this until no more are teleporting and go around and activate the lift. Now go up and make a right and take out the Rejections along the way, there will be around 6 of them. Head through the door and head to the elevator and head in. Once you get out you'll deal with some reject a medium and an iron maiden? Once you killed them head in front of the trolley and drop down into the pipes and up the ladder, go down to pick up health and supplies. Now make your way right and take care of the rejects and then a Iron Maiden, a few more rejects and a grenader will follow. This would be another good time to deal out the DAMG and then make your way down the stairs. Head to the left and take out 2 rejects, on the left side is a Health Station so go there if you need any health. Now take the left up and exit to the right through the door. Now take out another Rejected and turn the lock off. Now head back out, eventually you'll run into a grenader and a light kill them, exit the door and go all the way to the right through the newly opened door. CHECKPOINT- Arena of doom! Head on in and grab the health and shells and what ever you need. Prepare your self for a consecutive fight with the games hardest enemies. Judges, yes you will have to deal with 3 judges so just run around shooting at them and they will eventually fall. After 1 dies another one will be transported in there. Once you killed all the judges you'll have to deal with 3 heavies. These are the most challenging enemies in this part, mainly because they have Nail Guns and Missiles which blow your ass all over the place, and the other is because it takes forever just to kill one. Once you get to these guys even at full health you won't leave this battle with much life. So use your lightening gun and try to take one out, once one is taken out quick save if you're in good health. Now that there are only 2 left you need to focus getting them together, once you have take out the DAMG and shoot it damaging them both, it should only take about 3 shots to kill them. Once they die you'll have to face Black Widows, but these are extremely easy, just go around shooting rockets until they die, then pick up the small health that you can find. Reading this might not give you the impact on how difficult this is, but be wary this took a while just to get past. From here go out the door grab the LARGE health and make your way out the door and down the ladder. Now go down the pipes and go around and get on the next set of pipes and follow them around. Now make your way up to the balcony head all the way down and jump onto the pipe. Make your way up to the right and jump off and head through the door. Now shoot a DAMG down the hallway killing the Rejects, each one is equipped with a Rail gun so you don't want to take any cautions. Go down and collect some supplies and some Dark Matter, and head through the door. Now head out and go left taking out the Judge and the Medium, enter the room and use the station and pick up all the ammo and go to the door to exit. ( Well this was by far one of the hardest levels to date, that Arena of Doom simply was just to much so all you players out there enjoy it.) ================================================================================ ============================= Level 31: The Nexus This is it, the final battle, as you can see there is ammunition for every weapon. Head on into the room to do battle with the final guy that we thought we killed a few years back. Boss Battle: Makron This guy isn't too tough but you having to fight him twice. His attacks are rather weird he'll shoot the Dark Matter and he'll spawn enemies, Just use your hyper blaster to kill him with small exchanges with the Dark Matter, he summons Impalers and such so he isn't to bad to deal with, you can use one of the teleportals to go up to the second floor to use some health stations. Once you kill him you have to deal with the real boss who summons all the hard ass enemies you don't want to face. Boss Battle: The Nexus This does nothing, it just summons a shit load of enemies to try and kill you. Make use of the DAMG and shoot it up above the brain depleting its shields once the shields are down shoot one at the brain. Repeat and you can kill nexus and call it a night. (For the final battle it sure was lacking in intensity but pat your self on the back for beating the game.) ======================================================================= 6. Strategies In Quake you will need to deal with enemies quick and fast, so hesitation is not needed. You need to think quickly and you need to be able to put that thought into plan, of course a lot of plans will fail and you will die so always be ready to use the Quick Save (F5) when you get that ominous feeling. You will know the feeling, it is kind of hard to explain but when you feel it use it. Always be ready to fight if you ever get relaxed you will end up getting hurt so always keep in mind that you're on a world filled with cybernetic monsters that don't like you and want you dead. There are a lot of enemies and situations to deal with here are some general strategy. - Enemies who have heads do hurt easier, so when deal with lights especially aim at their heads to end a fight and to conserve little to know ammo. - Walls and other non objects are not enemies. So keep in mind to always AIM at a living target. Don't bust off rounds to seem cool or ferocious, kill those who need to die not things that have no real effect on you besides barrels. It's a waste of ammo. - Grunts 'Medics' are quick and strong enemies, don't let them get close and if you have to deal with them in a group circle and back away while shooting at them. - Railguns in the enemy's hands is bad for you, if you notice a or some enemies have this weapon take them out first. This weapon will take you out in a quick amount of time and usually almost instantly. So don't take a hit from it. - Gladiators 'Mediums' have one huge Rail Gun or some sort of Particle weapon on their shoulder. This is painful, so take this out before killing them. Unclose shots into their heads can deal with them pretty easily. - Gunners 'Grenaders' can switch between grenades and Nails, so use your shot gun or what ever high powered weapon you have on you and kill them. Their grenades are read so if you see one coming jump and get the hell out the way. - Marines take more damage, so if you're with a team lay back and let them take care of the enemies. This allows you to conserve both health and ammo. ==================================================================== 7. Misc/Faq Q: How come your FAQ is in-depth but at the same time doesn't even look it? A: I as a gamer and an Author know that when I am reading a FAQ I don't care to know how the walls look. I care about how to get to Point A and B while dealing with what ever may appear between. While typing up all that does take up some space it simply is just extra skin which makes it longer to get to the main thing you are reading the FAQ for, and that is help. Q: Head Left, but I do but nothing is there! Your Directions are worthless! A: Everything is heading from the start point, if I say head somewhere, I do intend for you to turn around, thus making everything to the opposite of the player's point of the map. Q: Some enemy's names are not correct! A: I understand that and I had to look up for some information, if you have any information on correct enemies. I will display it in the databank but I am not going through the FAQ to change their names, I kind of like the names I gave them. Q: How come your FAQS come out so fast? A: I write the FAQ in my first run through of the game, so the FAQS are written from a first time player experience. Q: How come you don't have System Requirements like other PC FAQS? A: I do have some faith that someone who would buy a game would know what their computer can handle, they have this stuff on the back. If your PC can't handle it then you shouldn't have bought it in the first place. Q: I want a FAQ and as you stated in the beginning you can write one for the game I want a FAQ for! A: Correct, below is all the information you need to do so. Q: Spelling Errors and Typos why can't you learn Basic English? A: I try to keep spelling as I said before as coherent to English, this is not a Brady Game guide, this is for people whom at least got past middle school, sorry if I don't have a Masters in English. Q: How come you say DAMG? It's Dark Matter Gun? A: I like Dark Anti Matter Gun better. Q: What FAQ will you be working on next? A: Soul Calibur 3 In-Depth Character Guide, Starship Troopers Guide, and maybe a GUN guide. If you wish to contact me about any of the following read below.
