There are two ways of getting your monster, by Slate or Disc Stones. Slates makes the use of previous saved game files from the first Monster Rancher game. If you're a new trainer, you have no other choice but to get your monsters by using Disc Stones. Disc Stones are used to collect data from other CD's as a source to create your monster. You can use PS CD's, PS2 CD's, PC CD's, SEGA Cd's, Music CD's, DVD's, and any other types of discs as long as the CD's are clean or else it may not work and may damage your platform. I haven't tried other types of CD's becuase I don't have much time yet so the only list of monsters you can see here is from PS CD's. If you have a list of monsters that you can get in other types of CD's or an information to replace the ????'s, please e-mail me (if you want) and I will give you credit (See Contact Info section). Saving Remember to save often! Save before going to tournaments, errantries, expeditions, combining monsters, or using items. You wouldn't know what's going to happen so remember to save often just in case something bad happened, you can always reset your game. Sueki Suezo Get Sueki Suezo by using the Monster Rancher 1 disc as the disc stone when creating a new monster. Why? Sueki Suezo can be a good help especially if you need more money. Sueki Suezo has an excellent stats except for speed but he only lives for 1 WEEK so raise a Sueki Suezo when there's a tournament. Increase Lifespan Since stress, tiredness and fatigue decreases your monster's lefespan, don't let your monster to be tired or stressed or fatigued. Be sure you read what Colt says every week if your monster is tired or not. If your monster is tired, be sure to let it sleep. If you really need to train for a tournament, use items that decreases your monster's stress, tiredness, or fatigue such as Nut Oil (See Item List section). This should increase your monster's lifespan indirectly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8 - Game Shark Codes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you're looking for some "big" codes, feel free to use this codes for your Game Shark. Q # 1 - 2 Questions: 1. Whenever I try to get a monster from CD's, the girl from the shrine keeps saying "This rare monster..." or "Only an authorizied IMa trainer can raise this monster". What do I do? To unlock a certain monster from a certain CD, first you have to unlock it in the game. For example, if you want to get a Durahan from a CD, you to have it first in the game by either a slate or by getting it's combining item. 2. Why do Colt keep on saying "It is getting old you should consider retirement"? That means that your monster is getting weak and is going to die soon. You will notice that if you train your monster after she said that, the stats of your monster won't go up that much anymore. However, there are 3 things to do to your monster: - Sell it at the market - Keep him in the ranch until it *dies* - Freeze him for combining or for 2 player battle 3. Where is the "retirement" option? There is no retirement option. 4. I need more money! What will I do? You can only have Gold for fighting tournaments. I suggest to you that you should fight tournaments often to get some Gold. Try getting a Sueki Suezo. 5. How do I get a Sueki Suezo? Get Sueki Suezo by using the Monster Rancher 1 disc as the disc stone. Sueki Suezo has an excellent stats except for speed and it only lives for one week so use him for tournaments only to acquire more Gold. That's right, more Gold. 6. What will happen if I run out of money? Game Over. 7. How do I upgrade? With a high enough Gold and Rank, you will be asked in May 4th (week) if you want to upgrade. Say "Yes". 8. Why do I need to upgrade my house? You will be able to hold more items if you upgrade your house. 9. Why do I need to upgrade my stable? Upgrading you stable will allow you to breed bigger or stronger monsters like Golems. 10. What is the best monster? I have no idea. But for me, the best is having a Durahan because a Durahan is very strong and it has a very long life. Not bad. 11. How do I get new techniques for my monster? Fight in errantries. Always go there if it says "It seems there is some chance to aquire a new technique here". 12. Does the errantry reduces my monster's life span? Since tiredness or stress or fatigue reduces your monster's lifespan, going to errantries really makes your monster tired so that means it DOES reduces your monster's lifespan. 13. How long does a monster live? It depends on the type of monster. For example, a Plant monster usually lives longer than Nagas or a Durahan type of monster usually lives longer than Dragons. 14. What are some examples of long living monsters? - Wracky - Durahan - Mew - Baku - Plant - Mock There's a lot more. You have to discover them for yourselves. Again, lifespan of your monsters depends on how you take care of them. 15. How do I increase my monster's lifespan? Prevent you monster from getting tired, stressed, or having fatigue because these things cause your monster to live shorter. Also, give them an item that increases your monster's lifespan such as Gold/Silver peaches. 16. How do I get a Silver Peach? You must have a 6 year old or more any class monster. At the 2nd week of June, your monster will get invited at a tournament called Elder's Cup. Win it and you will receive a Silver Peach as your reward. 17. How do I get a Gold Peach? Go to the Parepare expedition. 18. What is an expedition? Expeditions allow you to get rare items by exploring in different areas. Most rare items that is used to get rare monsters can be found here. 19. Where can I find the old sheath? Find it behind the pumpkin near the area where you found the Gold peach in Parepare expedition. 20. Where can I find the strong glue? Find it in the Torles mountian expedition. It appears randomly at the tree closest to the base camp. 21. Is there a requirement to join expeditions? And how do I go to (expedition name here)? Yes. First, you need to have at least 300 life points and a fame of more than 50. You must be in the ranch during the 1st week of February, June, or October. To go to Parepare or Kawrea expedition, you should have a Class C monster; as for the Torles expedition, your monster should be Class B. 22. I want to get mock, but the tree never dies. When does it die? I think it dies bout 10 years. 23. What's the use of (item here)? Check the Item List section. 24. How can I raise my fame? Fight and WIN in tournaments. Losing may bring your fame down. 25. How can I raise my rank? Fight a lot in tournaments. 26. How am I going to increase the loyalty of my monster above 50? Don't spoil them but be sure that they will stay happy. If they did something wrong like cheating on a training, scold them and it should make their loyalty higher. Also, you can give them some clay dolls. 27. What's the clay dolls for? It boosts your monster's loyalty when you give it to them. 28. How do I get the "Clay Dolls"? If your mosnter is happy, he might give you clay dolls. 29. I want to get this (monster name). What Cd should I use? Check the CD / Disc Stones section. 30. The monster I'm looking for is not in the CD / Disc Stones section. Why? That means I don't have that monster yet or I still don't know what CD to use to get that certain monster. 31. Your CD list is wrong. If you found out that some information in the CD / Disc Stones section is incorrect, please e-mail me and give me the specific information (See Contact Info section). I will appreciate your kindness and I will give you credit. 32. What does the letter on a monsters card mean? It shows on how rare they are. 33. Does being "good" or being "evil" affect my monster? You will either have: - Heel Badge - Hero Badge If you fight in a certain tournament, you might get a Heel or Hero Badge depending if your monster is good or bad. You will get a Hero Badge if your monster is good and Heel Badge for being bad. Hero Badge makes your monster's character better while the other makes it worse. Also, if your monster is evil, it may often disobey you and cheat in trinings. 34. This guide has some missing information.
