Definitely a great game. I honestly would have never thought that Square Enix would ever make a game like this. Then again, there were quite a few Final Fantasy characters in it... Oh well. One of the hardest things in this game was the Hades Paradox Cup. And if I recall correctly, to get into it, you would have to master all your drives and max out your summons. Well, I'm going to help out with mastering your drives. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - 0.D GAMESHARK "HELPERS" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - I own a GameShark, and I use it often. Well, there's a few codes on it that can help you a lot. Go to the link of your version to get the codes. If you don't have a GameShark, that's fine. These just help a lot. http://xs.gameshark.com/xploder/xploderui.asp?PID=94&SID=30178&tab=gc&gameid= 19167&vn=6 - This is for Media Player and Broadband Enabled. IT's also works for the new GameShark 2. http://xs.gameshark.com/xploder/xploderui.asp?PID=94&SID=30178&gameid=19167&t ab=gc&vn=4 - Versions 3&4 If you have a GameShark, go to the sites, and get the codes for M, Infinite HP, Infinite MP, and Infinite Drive. Do NOT get Infinite Form. If you do, you could get stuck in Anti-Sora during a boss-battle and not be able to get out. I had to redo all of Halloween Town because of that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.A VALOR ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Valor. This is the first drive form that you'll get. You get it after a cut scene around the beginning of the game. It's quite easy to level up, especially around bosses. Number of drive gauges used: 3 gauges Character(s) required to "sacrifice" so you can use it: Goofy Advantages: Quick, strong, easy to level up. Disadvantages: Can't use magic, when you first get it, you can't level up too much because of level caps. How you gain experience: For every time you hit an enemy while in the drive, you gain 1 exp point. Easiest way to gain experience: Using weak weapons against bosses. Best area/world to use it: Land of Dragons, using it at the palace against Assault Riders. Weapons to use with it: The weakest ones that you have. Sweet Memories is the weakest weapon in the game because it doesn't add on to your strength. Oath Keeper, although it does add strength, it will keep you in your drive longer, allowing more hits. Overall rating: 8/10 I don't think that people give this form enough credit. It's very easy to level up and it's the first form that you get in the game. Not having magic is the only reason it isn't a 10. But you'll still have Donald, and he can use magic, right? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.B WISDOM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Wisdom is the second form that you'll get in this game. You get it after beating the Timeless River. It's difficult to level up from when you get it, but it gets much easier later on. Number of drive gauges used: 3 gauges Character(s) required to "sacrifice" so you can use it: Donald Advantages: Stronger magic, faster casting of magic, long-range attacks Disadvantages: Slower, does a stupid gliding thing, hard to level from the beginning. How you gain experience: Every Heartless you kill while in this drive, you gain 1 exp point. Easiest way to gain experience: Fighting masses of weak heartless in areas where you can still gain experience. Best area/world to use it: There are a couple good areas to use it. One area that I've heard is great for leveling up in is the Timeless River. Just start at one end and go out the other. Another area that I've heard about is the Pride Lands. If you go to the Peak, there are tons of heartless. And a final place to use it is in TWTNW (The World That Never Was), where a lot of Shadows spawn fast. Weapons to use with it: Fenrir or Ultima Weapon, and Oath Keeper. Fenrir and Ultima are both really strong. Oath Keeper explains itself. Overall rating: 6.5/10 Honestly, this was my least favorite form. It's slow, and after you max it, you won't ever use it again because both Master and Final are better. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.C MASTER ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Master form is balanced between physical and magical powers. You'll get it after talking to Mickey in Ansem's study, and you had better thank Mickey because he just gave you the best gift you could ask for. This form is right between easy and hard for leveling. Number of drive gauges used: 4 gauges Character(s) required to "sacrifice" so you can use it: The rest of your party. Doesn't matter who's in it, they'll be gone when you transform. Advantages: Fast, strong, good with magic, not hard to level up. Disadvantages: You lose two of your party members and you can't use items. J/k, you can use items. I just wanted to freak you out. :P How you gain experience: Small Drive Recovery Orbs give you 1 exp, while large ones give you 3. Easiest way to gain experience: Using the 7 Lucky Lucky setup (In total, the party can equip 7 Lucky Lucky abilities: 3 as Support Abilities, 3 due to weapons, and the Lucky Ring.) at spots with enemies who drop lots of orbs after dying. Best area/world to use it: Beast's Castle, Land of Dragons, and Radiant Garden (enemies drop lots of large DROs). Weapons to use with it: Fenrir or Ultima, and Oath Keeper. Overall rating: 10/10 I have no complaints about this form. It's everything that you need in a fight. Strong, quick, and great with magic. Without a doubt, my favorite form. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.D FINAL ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ah, Final. Probably one of the most overrated things in history, along with Halo 2. <_< You can only obtain it after the fight scene between Roxas and Sora. You have to have a total of at least 5 drive gauges, and you must be in battle when changing into a drive. Randomly, you'll turn into Final. After turning into it, you'll be able to select it from the menu. It's relatively difficult to level this form up. Number of drive gauges used: 5 gauges Character(s) required to "sacrifice" so you can use it: Your whole party Advantages: Super quick, extremely strong, strong magic, and fast magic casting. Disadvantages: You lose two friends and you have to do that stupid gliding thing that you had to do with Wisdom. How you gain experience: For every Nobody killed, you gain an exp point. Easiest way to gain experience: Beating masses of Nobodys with magic before you run out of drive. Best area/world to use it: Sen Yid's Tower and TWTNW, because both have plenty of Nobodies. Weapons to use with it: Fenrir, Ultima, Hidden Dragon, or Circle of Life, and Oath Keeper. Hidden Dragon recovers MP when you take damage and Circle of Life has MP haste. Best choice would probable be Ultima because of MP hastega. You need MP so you can cast Magnega and other spells like that to destroy enemies quicker. Overall rating: 9/10 Way too overrated. I hate the gliding thing. If you're ever in a horrible position, use this to get out of it. It's also great to prevent Anti-Sora. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.E ANTI-SORA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Anti-Sora. Nobody likes it except a few people and myself. People think that it's too bad because you can't use reaction commands or revert. But it is extremely fast. You get it when your anti-points get too high. I'll explain that right before the rating. Number of drive gauges used: All of them. :( Character(s) required to "sacrifice" so you can use it: Your whole party. Advantages: Super quick, all moves are finishers Disadvantages: You lose your party, you lose your drive gauges, can't revert until done fighting, no experience is gained, 50% more damage gain, and you can't pick up HP orbs. How you gain experience: You can't. You can't level this up. Easiest way to gain experience: N/A Best area/world to use it: N/A Weapons to use with it: N/A The following was provided by Beamneocube in Fayt2700's guide on GameFAQs (located here: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/kingdom_hearts_ii_drive.txt ) "There actually is a pattern/probability of changing into Anti-form. There are these things that you cant see called Anti-points. Whenever you go into Valor, Wisdom, or Master forms, your Anti-points go up by one (+1). If you change form while an ally is unconcious, the points do nothing (+0, -0) When you change into Final form, the Anti-points go down by ten(-10). Whenever you actually go into Anti-Form, they drop by four (-4). Also, when you aquire a new form, the points reset themselves. So basically, the more Anti-points you have, the more of a chance there is that you will go into Anti Form. If you have 0-4 Anti points, there is a 0% chance of changing. If you have 5-9 points, there is a 10% chance. If you have 10 or more, then there is a 25% chance. That though is not the only thing that affects the change rate. During a normal fight, the percent is x1. During most scripted battles, the chance is x2. During fights with Organization XIII, it is a x4. Against Armored Xemnas, there is a x10 multiplier. In battles with Non-Party Coopritive Characters, (such as those with the people from Final Fantasy and when Hercules is with you, but you cant see his health bar) there is no chance of transforming (x0)." Overall rating: 6/10 Underrated by most, this form is quick and easy to use when surrounded by lots of enemies. If you get the misfortune to have this against a boss, it sucks to be you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3.A OUTRO ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, I hope you have fun leveling them up, because I sure didn't. :P ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3.B CREDITS AND THANKS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fayt2700 - For a TON of information and for the basic layout of my guide.
