Introduction And General Information | \==++====++====++====++====++====<<##0##>>====++====++====++====++====++==/ \==++====++==/ \==++====++==/ My name is Robert Allen Rusk and I am a hardcore gamer with about 30+ years of gaming experience. I am an ex-gametester (Broderbund Software, LucasArts Games, Point Of View Computing) and an ex-arcade attendant (Namco Cyberstation - Pier 39, San Francisco, CA). I also own multiple systems such as the Sega Dreamcast, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Atari Jaguar, PlayStation 1 and 2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I currently work at JCPenneys at one of the malls here in San Antonio, TX. Retail isn't the best job in the world but JCPenneys has given me the job stability I did not have much of prior to employment there. This also led to personal stability that allows me to write and maintain the guides I have built. I started writing guides in 2003 because I felt it was something I could do utilizing my writing skills gained in college and gametesting along with my passion for vidgames. Over time I have honed my overall writing and organization skills plus my creative thinking skills. Additionally, I have extended the play value of the games I have written guides and FAQs for many times over plus I have received many letters from all over the world. I am also what one may call an RGB Analog Video enthusiast. I hack most of my game consoles to try to get the best possible video from them and that usually involves tapping into the RGB Analog video signals and using them on the right monitors to achieve my desires. To this end I became a member of the GamesX.com mod forum and I post on their "RGB + Video Discussions" forum area from time to time. In addition, I am a member of the X-Otic Computer Systems of San Antonio (www.xcssa.org), a group who specializes in Linux, Mac, and other systems. We are also a group of hackers and electronics enthusiasts. I am also a regular forum poster at GameFAQs, an occasional poster at AtariAge, Digital Press, GTA Forums, and Video Game Saga. I am also a member of The MoFaT (a members only message board set up by "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" players who met on the Vice City message boards at GameFAQs). Outside of gaming, my interests include "Godzilla" (I have been a G-Fan since the age of ten) and "Red Dwarf" (I own all eight series plus the "Back to Earth" mini-series on DVD). I am also a long time soundtrack collector with many titles in my possession. As far as favorite sports teams go, my teams are the San Antonio Spurs (NBA) [the local team], the Denver Broncos (NFL) [although I live in Texas, I am originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado] and the Air Force Falcons (NCAA Football). This guide was constructed using TextWrangler on a 1.5Ghz Single Core Intel Mac Mini. I view my work in Safari to help in seeing how it would look on the web and correct format errors. I play "Hitman: Codename 47" on a Dell Optiplex GX270 (at 2.4Ghz) with 1GB of RAM and on Windows XP Professional. The GX270 also uses a built-in Intel 82865G Graphics Controller and SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. The version of "Hitman: Codename 47" I have appears to be the last, latest version known as Version 1.92 (or b192 as it will be indicated at the upper right corner of the main title screen). I also play this game using a wonderful little program called Xpadder V5.3, a program written by Jonathan Firth that will allow you to map keyboard commands to a joypad. I will go more into that in the controls chapter. The joypad I used for this game is the Xbox 360 joypad with the "Xbox 360 for Windows" driver. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN1. About The Guide | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ Welcome to my "Hitman: Codename 47" guide! If this is the first time you have visited then you will find a lot of useful information in a highly organized format that you can use to beat all of the missions of the game. Quotes taken from readers' e-mail are presented "as is" and may include spelling and grammatical errors. The main emphasis of this guide is to provide creative and simple solutions to many of the missions for "Hitman: Codename 47". Many hours were spent going over each mission and finding unique ways to solve them. I think you will be surprised by some of the solutions found here. This guide was written while playing the game on the Normal difficulty setting which is what most people will probably play this game on. It is also designed to avoid Civilian kills to make things easier for you and to get additional money for better weapons. This guide was also written while using the Xpadder keyboard-to-joypad mapping program and may incorporate strategies that may only work with this setup. If any of these strategies don't work with the standard keyboard/mouse configuration then feel free to write me about it. I have worked hard to make sure that this guide is as complete as possible but at the same time leave room for exploration. I hope that you enjoy this guide as much as learn from it. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN2. "Hitman: Codename 47" | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ "Hitman: Codename 47" is the first game that features the now-popular protagonist known as Agent 47, a clone designed for assassination work. The game was released in 2000 for the PC which was the only platform it was released for. Some of the missions in "Codename 47" were remade for the sequel "Hitman: Contracts". Because it is the first game of the current four game series (with "Hitman: Absolution" on the way) it certainly does not look or sound as good as the ones that would later follow. And, of course, it does feel a little rough around the edges but that is forgivable being that it is the beginning of this series. The gameplay is a little different too being that it relies a bit more on gunplay than its successors. The mapping is nowhere as useful too but you don't need it as much because of how the game is designed. Like with the other three games in the series I throughly enjoyed this installment. It was cool to go and see how this all started. I got into the "Hitman" games because of the PS2 demo of "Hitman 2: Silent Assassin" which was made available during the summer of 2002. I decided to load up the demo because I was kind of bored while waiting for "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" to be released (fall of 2002). But I did not expect the awesome music that graced my ears when I got to the main menu. A fantastic orchestral piece that blew my mind. I would just let the game sit on the menu screen so I could listen to this piece repeatedly. After awhile I finally got into the demo and I also became impressed by the gameplay and additional music. From that point I became a fan of "Hitman". And it was the first time that I got into a game series because of the music. The music was done by Jesper Kyd, a fantastic musician who I was initially exposed to from the Sega DreamCast game "MDK2". I now own the scores to all four "Hitman" games (and the score to the oft-maligned "Hitman" movie - by Geoff Zanelli). When I started writing guides I always wanted to do the "Hitman" series. However, I wanted to start with the first game, "Codename 47". But the game was never released outside of the PC platform. This created a problem because I am a Mac user and it was never released there either. I was aware that some of the missions from "Codename 47" were remade for "Hitman: Contracts" but that wasn't the same. As I was playing "Hitman: Blood Money" I was actually writing a guide in my head but it never came out because I wasn't able to do a guide on "Codename 47". In early 2010 I obtained a barebones Dell Optiplex GX270 (no hard drive or RAM) for $10 at Goodwill Computerworks because it had a blown capacitor which was pointed out to me (which I replaced later). After acquiring all of the necessary pieces to get it working properly I installed the game, and Xpadder, and finally started on this guide in November of 2010. Why would I want to do a guide on a game that came out many years ago? Because I am a fan of "Hitman" and it is something I always wanted to do. This guide is also part of my biggest non-"Grand Theft Auto" writing project to date. Guides to all four "Hitman" games - done as one large project. The guides were done one at a time but all of them were released simultaneously. That way all of the guides could have a similar look and feel and will be connected in some way while setting things up for the next "Hitman" installment ("Absolution"). /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN3. Windows XP Support Statement | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ "Hitman: Codename 47", which was released in 2000, was published before the arrival of better versions of Windows including the popular Windows XP. Eidos Interactive put out this statement on their website concerning WinXP: "You may not have any problem running any game published by Eidos Interactive using Windows XP. There are a few things that we want you to be aware. Many of our games were developed for Windows 95/98 long before the release of Windows XP. Many of our games were developed using the DirectX API. While Windows XP does support DirectX, many hardware manufacturers may not have drivers that support the version that is included with Windows XP. It is common that some hardware drivers have not been brought up to the WHQL specifications required for Windows XP. Thus games that use DirectX will not function correctly or at all. We can only warrant and support our products when they are run using the operating system for which they were designed. These specifications are clearly listed on the product packaging or at our WEB SITE Older DOS games (Such as Tomb Raider) will not function and are not supported. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of Microsoft and/or specific hardware manufacturer to provide for backward compatibility with Windows XP; this is to insure that the device drivers are compatible. At this time we do not have plans to change our older titles to make them Windows XP compatible for the reasons above. We realize this may be a problem for some users. If you have Windows XP on your machine, and the game will not function, your best course of action may be to return the game to the place of purchase." I have had no problems running this game on my current setup (other than an occasional crash when trying to load up the cutscene of the lab blowing up in the mission "Say Hello to my Little Friend"). Of course, being that there are an incredible number of different PC configurations, your mileage will definitely vary from setup to setup. At this time I have no idea if this game will run under either Vista or Windows 7. It is also important to point out that I am mainly a Mac user. The PC I have is setup to be strictly a gaming machine focusing on older games I have always wanted to try, emulation, and gaming gadgets and tools that their manufacturers are too damn lazy to make Mac drivers for. Hence its designation as the "Xbox Deluxe". Therefore my knowledge of Windows and PC hardware is basic at best so I may not be able to help much with problems with your setup. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN4. "Codename 47" Differences | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ Most people are familiar with the game console versions of "Hitman". Many of them who have played "Hitman 2" through "Blood Money" have not played "Codename 47". There are some major differences between "Codename 47" and the other "Hitman" games. I have already noted that this game only uses a mouse/keyboard control setup (unless you use Xpadder). Listed below are some other differences: >>Graphics and Sound ****************** The graphics are a bit rougher than its successors but that is to be expected for a game released in 2000. However, it appears to hold up pretty well. The sound is pretty decent but the voice acting, especially your character, is substandard (this was improved in the later games). The music, of course, is excellent. >>Mapping ******* Those who are used to the mapping in the later "Hitman" games will find that there is a lot less detail to be found in "Codename 47". The only things that will show on your Map is yourself, your pick-up point (if applicable), and some points of interest. >>Scoring ******* The only thing you are scored on is money. The less you spend, and the cleaner the hit (meaning no unnecessary casualties), the more money you will make. That's it. You can be as stealthy or as ballistic as you like without any negative impact as long as you avoid killing Police and Civilians. This allows for some flexibility in strategy. >>Kill Only ********* If you need to get somebody out of the way the only way you can do this is to kill them. There are no non-lethal ways to get rid of somebody in this game. Non-lethal means of dealing with people was introduced in "Hitman 2: Silent Assassin". >>No Weapon Collecting ******************** One of the fun things in later "Hitman" games was finding and collecting various weapons that you could use in later missions. However, that doesn't exist here. That feature was introduced in "Hitman 2: Silent Assassin". /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN5. Remastered CN47 Missions for "Contracts" | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ One other major feature in "Hitman: Contracts", one of the sequels to "Codename 47", is that several missions are either inspired from or remastered versions of missions featured in the first game. Because of the differences on scoring, gameplay, and layout the strategies you would've normally used in "Hitman: Codename 47" won't work in these remastered versions and vice versa. >>"Asylum Aftermath" ****************** This mission uses the ending of the mission "Meet Your Brother" as a starting point. The entire Basement floor is completely different than the one used in the first game. However, the asylum itself closely resembles its original counterpart but with a few minor changes. >>"Deadly Cargo" ************** This mission is actually the combination of the two Rotterdam missions - "Gunrunner's Paradise" and "Plutonium Runs Loose". The gang and strip club are taken from "Gunrunner's Paradise" and the Ship and Target (even though he has a slightly different name he looks almost exactly like Arkadij Jegorov (aka Boris)) are taken from "Plutonium Runs Loose". One major change is that the Dutch Police and SWAT are involved. >>"Traditions of the Trade" ************************* This mission also has some major changes from the original even though you can almost kill your Targets the same way you did in the original. The Restaurant, at the west side of the hotel, is completely blocked off and there are Guards patrolling the Dentist office where you acquire the Chemical Bomb. >>The Lee Hong Missions ********************* All four of the Lee Hong missions are remastered and presented. Each mission has very different layouts than their originals and present many different ways to accomplish your objectives. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN6. Controls | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ Although the manual covers the setup pretty good, I felt that I should include a section on controls. The game uses a keyboard/mouse configuration. There are no official drivers to use a joypad. There are two types of default keyboard configurations - the Keypad and WASD. Xpadder \ \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 After playing through all of the console versions of Hitman I found that I could not play "Hitman: Codename 47" with the keyboard/mouse control setup. And, as noted, there are no official drivers to allow you to play the game with a joypad. Thankfully a programmer named Jonathan Firth wrote a program called Xpadder that will allow you to map keyboard commands to a joypad. I used the Xbox 360 joypad for this game and I configured it to be as close as possible to the layout used for the Xbox 360 version of "Hitman: Blood Money". The current version of Xpadder is V5.7 which you have to pay money for. The version I am using right now is V5.3 which is the last freeware version and what most people probably have. The only problem I found with Xpadder V5.3 had to do with looking around with the mouse. If you tweaked the mouse settings to turn around at a reasonable speed then you may find that your weapon aiming becomes over sensitive. But, if you tweaked the mouse settings to where the weapon aim was less sensitive, then you would turn around too slow. It may take several tries through the Training mission to find the right mouse and joypad mapping settings that you are comfortable with. It is recommended that you do *NOT* play "Hitman: Codename 47" in Compatibility Mode (Windows XP) in conjunction with Xpadder. If you do then either the game will crash when you try to exit or it won't boot up at all. Other than that there are no other problems. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN7. Before I go any further I will go over..... /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN8. The International Contract Agency | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ The ICA or The Agency, as it is often called, is the shadowy organization that will employ you. Its main purpose is to carry out assassinations. A powerful person, or government, who wants to take down somebody without being connected to it will contact The Agency and an agent will be assigned to a mission to carry out the contract. However, sometimes there is more than just killing the Target. Most missions often have several objectives beyond the assassination. Destruction or retrieval of items and rescuing someone are some of the other objectives that an agent may need to accomplish. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN9. Starting a New Profile and Mission | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ To make a new Profile select Start Game then select New. After that then you type in your name and select the game difficulty. There are three difficulty selections: Easy, Normal, and Hard. If you select the Easy mode then you will be given five chances to complete a mission and you take less damage when being attacked. Normal mode will give you two chances to complete a mission and you will take more damage. Hard mode will make you restart a mission from the very beginning if you die and you will suffer the most damage when being attacked. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> When you start a mission then you will go through several preliminary stages before you begin. The first thing you are greeted with is the briefing screen which gives you a rundown of what the mission is. It is given to you by Diana Burnwood, your Handler from The Agency. In the lower right corner of this screen is the arrow that will allow you to continue after reading through this initial briefing. You will also see an Options button that will give you the option to change settings and exit from the game. The round button next to the Options button will immediately send you into the game. If you have played through this mission before then you will start with whatever weapons started with previously. The next screen will give you a simple listing of your objectives and reward. At the lower right corner of the screen is a button with a magnifying glass. Clicking on this will allow you to get more details of your objectives. The next screen will give you a basic rundown of your current Target. Again, there is a button at the lower right corner of the screen that will give you more detail about your Target. The next screen will show you the Map of where the mission will take place. You are represented by a green circle with a pointer indicating direction. Other objects and people of interest will be designated with either a blue or orange circle. Places where you can acquire additional weapons will be represented by a square with a pistol icon. And the Map always points north which is useful for when you don't bring a Compass and you need to use the Map to gain your bearings. In the upper left corner of the Map is a hand icon. Clicking on it will allow you to move the Map around by putting the cursor on the Map then holding the Left Mouse Button down while moving the mouse around. Right underneath the hand icon is the magnifying glass icon. Clicking on it will allow you to zoom in on various areas of the Map by putting the cursor near where you want to zoom in then hold down the Left Mouse Button and move up to zoom in and pull back to zoom out. There may be multiple floors or levels to a Map and they can be accessed by the list under the magnifying glass icon. There may be other icons on the Map as well. Icons like ladders, sewer openings, gates, switches, and "!" which indicates something of interest. The last screen you will come to is the Equipment Screen which will allow you to purchase weapons and items that you may want and need for the mission. And that leads to the next chapter..... /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN10. Weapons and Items | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ Weapons are the tools of the trade for any professional contractor. There are many different weapons that can be used to perform your work. There are also additional items that are useful. By the name of each item is an information symbol which will allow you to get a closer look at it and provide a little more information. Unlike with the later "Hitman" games you cannot increase the ammo for a weapon by picking up another one of the same kind. You will simply add another one to your Inventory. For example, if you pick up four Uzis, then you will have four Uzis in your Inventory. This means that if you use one of the Uzis then you will have to drop it and use another one when you run out of ammo for it. The only way to increase ammo for a weapon during a mission is to find ammo clips for it. The information on each weapon and item is broken down as follows (if applicable): --Cost: How much the weapon or item costs. --Ammo: How much the ammo costs and how many are in a clip. --Magazine Capacity: How many rounds the magazine of the weapon holds. --Maximum Ammo: The maximum amount of ammunition you can purchase. It should be noted that this does not mean the maximum amount of ammo you can carry for that weapon. You can usually find additional ammo in the field. --Notes: Information on the weapon or item. /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 | A. Weapons \ \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 >>Melee Weapons ************* These weapons are the most silent weapons to use. However, you need to get up behind a person for them to be most effective. ++Oyabun/Pentagon Knife ===================== Cost: $65/$50. Notes: This is a standard combat knife. Its main use is to slit the throat of a person from behind. In real life slitting a throat will leave behind quite a mess as your victim bleeds out all over the place. However, in "Hitman", this isn't an issue as your victim just drops bloodlessly to the ground. This is the best up-close weapon because you can quickly kill a person and Holster the weapon before anybody can become suspicious. However, the main problem with it is that you risk having the victim make noise as you are killing him which can attract unnecessary attention. To prevent this then you should be in Sneak Mode so you can totally surprise your victim. ++Fibre Wire ========== Cost: $110. Notes: This is a specially made weapon using a very strong fiber wire. Its main use is to strangulate your victim from behind. The best feature about this weapon is that, because you are strangulating your victim, he will not make any noise as you are attacking him. Another feature is that it will not trigger metal detectors. The main drawback to using this weapon is that it takes time to kill your victim during which you are vulnerable to being seen. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> >>Pistols ******* These easily concealable weapons can take down people from a distance. However, they tend to make a lot of noise which will attract unwanted attention. ++AMT 1911 "Hardballer" ===================== Based on: .45 ACP Colt M1911. Cost: $550. Ammo: $5 per clip (15 rounds). Magazine Capacity: 7 rounds. Maximum Ammo: 150 rounds. Notes: This semi-automatic pistol packs a decent punch but has a small magazine. This weapon is considered the signature handgun of the "Hitman" series. ++Beretta 92 ========== Cost: $475. Ammo: $10 per clip (15 rounds). Magazine Capacity: 15 rounds. Maximum Ammo: 150 rounds. Notes: This handgun, which shares ammo with the Hardballer, has a much larger magazine. This weapon also sounds a little less loud as well. Another version of the Beretta 92, the Beretta 92SD (Cost: $775), is exactly the same as the regular 92 but it is silenced. If you need a handgun to take with you then this is the best one to have if it is available to purchase. ++Desert Eagle Mark XIX ===================== Cost: $1,200. Ammo: $6 per clip (7 rounds). Magazine Capacity: 7 rounds. Maximum Ammo: 130 rounds. Notes: This gun has the largest caliber of ammunition of all of the handguns making it very powerful. Unfortunately, it also makes it very loud and you will attract unwanted guests in hurry. Maximum Ammo: 150 rounds. Notes: This weapon has a decent rate of fire but tends to be inaccurate at anything beyond medium distance. Short, controlled bursts will help you to conserve ammo. ++Heckler & Koch MP5 ================== Cost: $2,200. Ammo: $21 per clip (30 rounds). Magazine Capacity: 30 rounds. Maximum Ammo: 150 rounds. Notes: This submachine gun is better than the Uzi because it is more accurate and has a better rate of fire. Magazine Capacity: 30 rounds. Maximum Ammo: 100 rounds. Notes: This is by far the most popular weapon in the world owing to the fact that it is the most rugged, durable, and reliable machine gun of its kind. Notes: Only 176 of these rifles were ever made because it was too expensive to achieve widespread sales of the weapon. This makes it a rare and valuable collectable. Although it uses a slightly smaller caliber than the R93 the WA2000 is better because of its range which is 1,000m, 200 meters more than the R93, and the fact that you can fire multiple shots before needing to reload. It should be noted, though, caliber doesn't really matter if you manage to put the round between the eye sockets of your intended victim. This weapon also becomes the signature sniper rifle of the "Hitman" games. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> >>Heavy Weapons ************* These two large heavy weapons are very powerful and use the same ammunition (7.62mm rounds) but they cannot be concealed. ++US Army M60 =========== Cost: $1,900. Notes: The M60 is a very powerful belt fed large machine gun that normally is handled by two people - one to fire and one to handle the ammo belt. However, in this game, you handle it just like any machine gun. It is about as accurate than the M16 and is certainly more powerful. There are only two drawbacks to this weapon. First, it is pretty loud so expect more Guards to come calling if you use it. And second, this weapon only appears during the Columbia chapter of the story. ++M134 Minigun ============ Cost: $10,750. Ammo: $1,000 per clip (1,000 rounds). Magazine Capacity: 1,000 rounds. Maximum Ammo: 6,000 rounds. Notes: This large gatling-style machine gun is the most powerful weapon in the game. It spits ammo like there's no tomorrow and very little can stand up to it. In real life, this weapon is often attached to vehicles and cannot be carried by a person. But, just like with the M60, you have no problems lugging this thing with you. There are a couple of major drawbacks though. The first is that it takes nearly two seconds from the time you hold down Fire to actually shoot the weapon. This is because the barrel needs to start spinning before it can shoot bullets. So, by the time you start shooting, your target either has moved out of the way or killed you. Not good. But there is a commonly known trick to get around that. Quickly tap the Left Mouse Button to spin the barrel without firing. This way you can fire immediately when you fire again. But you need re-spin the barrel before making another attack. Another downside to the Minigun is that you move very slowly while carrying it. This makes you very vulnerable to attack. However, there is another commonly known trick to get around that. In order to speed yourself up when carrying this weapon you must Holster it first. But you can't use the Holster key to do it or you will drop the weapon. You must use the Holster option in the Inventory List to properly Holster this weapon so you can move faster. These two tricks are very useful in the one mission where you need to use the Minigun. /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 | B. Notes: This little device will help when dealing with large Maps. However, this does not automatically activate when you start a mission. You must manually activate it from the Inventory List. >>Binoculars ********** Cost: $750. Notes: This will allow you to scope out areas before proceeding. You use it like a Sniper Rifle in that you "shoot" it to activate and use the movement keys to zoom in and out. Observing Your Surroundings | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ As you go about the mission then you will see both Guards and Civilians move about the area. Although everybody appears to be moving randomly there is nothing random about their movements. The most important thing to know about this game, as well as the other "Hitman" games, is that everybody, Guards and Civilians alike, move in very specific patterns. It is very important to note these patterns as it can make the difference between success and failure. When you first play a mission it is best to take your time and observe everything so you can get the feel of how everybody moves before doing anything of importance. One way to break a pattern is if a body is discovered. Either the Guard will stand there (possibly making him easier to attack) or go back to his pattern as though nothing has happened (and leave the body alone). As you can see, the Guards aren't exactly known for their smarts. This is, obviously, to your advantage. Placing yourself in the exact spot in the patrol pattern of a Guard can make it much easier to take him down without fuss and where you don't need to move the body (or be much closer to a place where you can drag him). Or waiting for the precise moment when a Civilian goes around a corner so you can take down a Guard without being seen. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN14. Sneaking, Melee Attacks, and Dragging Bodies | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ The overall goal of a given mission is to get close to your Target and kill him with little fanfare as possible. There are situations where you need to quietly dispose of someone that may get in your way later. The quietest way to get rid of someone is to get behind him and then use the Knife/Fibre Wire to take him down. The main thing to know is that if you get behind someone and pull out any weapon then they will hear you pulling it out and you may alert him (even if you are in the process of killing him). This can lead to problems, especially if he makes any noise. However, if you enter Sneak Mode, in which case you will crouch, you will move about slowly and silently. Most importantly, you will also be able to pull out any weapon without anybody hearing it even if you are up against someone. And, of course, your victim won't be able to make any noise since you will completely surprise him when you attack. During the course of the guide you will see three specific Melee Attack words: Knife, Slash, and Wire. They pertain to certain methods of Melee Attacks: >>Knife ***** This is the melee attack method I use the most as it is the fastest. Below are the moves involved in the method: --Get up behind a STATIONARY target. --Highlight the KNIFE in your Inventory List. --Enter Sneak Mode. --Press the Left Mouse Button to quickly bring out the Knife and use it to kill your target. --Immediately Holster your weapon and get out of Sneak Mode. Depending on how you set up your controls, regardless of whether or not you use Xpadder, you can Holster your Knife and get out of Sneak Mode before your victim hits the ground. >>Slash ***** This method also involves the Knife but this is done with a MOVING target such as a patrolling Guard. Get up right against his backside and walk with him, highlight the Knife, then quickly press the Left Mouse Button to pull out the weapon and attack before he can make any noise and immediately Holster the Knife. >>Wire **** This is the exact same method as the Knife but you use the Fibre Wire instead. There are certain situations where the Fibre Wire may be better for melee attacking than the Knife. After killing your victim then you should drag him to a secluded area so he isn't found by other Guards and Civilians. To drag a body you need to be close enough to the body to get the action to appear in the Action Window or place the cursor on the body so you get the Pointer Menu prompt. Then activate the Pointer Menu and select Drag. At this point you will grab the body and start to drag it behind you. This will slow you down a lot and you will risk being seen. So it is important to either kill him near a place where you can hide the body or kill him in a secluded area so you don't have to drag the body at all. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN15. Civilians and Police | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ In addition to Guards you must also keep your eye out on innocent Civilians and Police. If any Civilian sees you doing something out of the ordinary, like moving a dead body, then that person will become alarmed and go to alert the Guards or Police. You can kill Civilians if you want but that is generally frowned upon by The Agency since it will make the scene harder to clean up. It is definitely a bad idea to kill any Police officer since it makes it very difficult for the cleaner to do his job. Therefore it is important to keep your eyes open for Civilians and Police before taking down somebody or entering a restricted area. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN16. Disguises and Subterfuge | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ In most missions you will need to get a disguise to enter restricted access areas and get close to your Target. Usually this is done by killing a Guard and taking his clothes. As long as you do not do anything out of the ordinary then you will be seen as a Guard and you can move freely about. If any other Guards see the body of the dead Guard you switched clothes with then they will become suspicious. The best way to get around that, other than by hiding the dead body properly in the first place, is to change clothes. Even if it looks exactly the same as what you were wearing before then that should be enough to get them off your case (but you must not be seen changing clothes or your cover will be blown). It is also important that the body you changed clothes with is not found or the Guards will start looking for somebody dressed as the dead person (meaning: you). Sometimes you will see Guards with weapons drawn. You can do the same but only if the weapon is similar to the weapons the other Guards are carrying. If your weapon is different then your cover is blown and you will be attacked. You can also safely attack people with firearms as long as you are isolated with your victim. If you are seen attacking someone then your cover will be blown. If you are isolated and you attract the attention of a Guard then, as long as the weapon drawn matches the Guards or you have Holstered it, then you should be okay because either you look like an ordinary Civilian who has discovered a dead body or a Guard who has come to investigate. This can be useful for planning additional attacks by luring Guards for safe disposal. One nice trick while changing clothes - if you move your character when he is changing clothes then you will be immediately dressed. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN17. Dying and Restarting | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ Sometimes things just go very badly and you will end up dying. If you are playing the game on Easy or Normal mode then you will placed some distance away from where you died and start again from there. However, whatever Guards you may have alerted are still near where you died and you will have to fight them again. If you are playing the game on Hard then you will have to completely restart from the beginning when you die. This also happens when you run out of chances in the other two difficulty modes. Then there are times that you fail the mission because you let somebody get away or kill a necessary person. In this case you can restart the mission by holding down the Shift key and pressing Esc. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN18. Mission Completion and Game Saving | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ After the mission is carried out then you will be given your reward. The amount of money you spent on weapons and equipment for the mission will be deducted from your reward. In addition, a cleaner will be sent in to make sure that the hit is not traced back to The Agency. If the hit is clean then no additional money will be deducted from your reward. If you kill a Civilian, then some money will be deducted so the cleaner can bribe officials and journalists to clean up the mess. The cost for unnecessary casualties is $5,000 per kill. If kill too many Civilians and Police then the cleaner will come after you. So it is essential to avoid killing innocents. Another important point to make is that even if a Guard kills a Civilian that happens to be in the crossfire then it will still count against you so avoid that as well. Making clean hits will also allow you to save up money so you can purchase more powerful weapons in later missions. The game will automatically save after each mission. It will also save the weapon and equipment choices you made so you can use them again in another attempt. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN19. Improving Your Score | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ As noted earlier, your score is based solely on how much money you make. The best way to make money is usually buying as little as possible before going on a mission. On some of the missions there are two strategies employed. The first is the Standard Strategy. This involves bringing certain weapons and equipment to make the mission easier to perform. The second is what I call the Cheap Strategy. This involves bringing only the Knife or nothing at all. This also includes not bringing Body Armor, the Compass, and the Binoculars. This can add a bit of challenge on a few of the missions. It is recommended that you play through a mission using the Standard Strategy before trying the Cheap way. On some missions there is only a minor difference between the two strategies so they are combined and the differences noted as the mission progresses. The maximum amount of money you can make by the time you reach the mission "The Setup" is $275,705. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN20. Near the end, after you mess around with the Sniper Rifle, you will need to go up the nearby Elevator. On the next floor is a Guard. You need to kill this Guard to proceed further otherwise he will use his stun gun on you and you will have to restart this level. Use any pistol and kill him from the Elevator. In addition, the Red Dragon are also rivals of another long time crime syndicate, the Blue Lotus Triad. The Chief of Police helps keep a fragile truce between the two groups so everyone can prosper in peace. The Agency has a plan in place to make getting at Lee Hong easier. It involves starting a war between the two groups and removing the Chief of Police to remove Police protection. There are four missions total, three are to instigate a war and remove Police protection and the fourth to kill Lee Hong and complete this major objective. 0=-=-=-=-=0 / Hong Kong \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >HKG1. When you buy the weapon then you will automatically be given one bullet so the bullet you buy will be considered insurance against a miss. When you start the mission then head west while running, go north into an narrow alley so you can get to the main street, turn east along the main street, turn north at the next intersection, and then go into the alley where the *EAST* Elevator is at. Enter the Elevator and head to the roof. When you reach the roof then stay in the Elevator and bring out the R93 while leaving the case inside. Head to the west edge of the roof and wait for the Negotiators to appear. From your vantage point you should be looking at the backside of the Red Dragon Negotiator. Snipe him in the head then run to the Elevator. At this point you should see a helicopter appear on the scene with a nasty looking gunman wielding an M60. However, by the time he appears, you should be safely back in the Elevator. Pick up the Sniper Case, which "holsters" the R93, then head back down and walk back the same way you came and to where you started to successfully complete this mission. 0============================0 | Mission Walkthrough (Cheap) \ 0=======================================================> You will need the Oyabun Knife for this method as there are no weapons to find on this Map. When you start the mission then head to an east-west alley near the northeast corner of the park. It should have two small trash cans near the entrance. Wait for the first limo to come up. This limo will have several Guards and the Negotiator. Four of the Guards will split up and go to two of the park entrances. Another Guard will head in your direction. As he is nearing you the other limo, with the Red Dragon Negotiator, will pull up. Like the other limo it will also have several Guards. Four of them will head to the other two park entrances and another one will head north into the alley. When the Guard enters the alley you are in then follow him closely, wait for him to get past the two trash cans, and then Slash him (picking up the Uzi is optional). Go back out into the street and head west to the limo that the Red Dragon Negotiator came in (which is by the north park entrance). Stand by the passenger door, but not too close, and look east toward the alley where you left the body. Eventually one of the wandering Civilians will discover the body in the alley and come to alert the Guards near you. One of the Guards will leave to investigate. As he does then rotate left so you are looking at the limo and ready your Knife in your Inventory List. When you get the notice that the Guard has found the dead body then the other nearby Guard will run to the alley. At the same time the Red Dragon Negotiator will run to the limo. He will stop in front of you as he begins to open the door. When he does then quickly Slash him then turn left and run west for the alley at the end of the street. Even though the Guards are warned they didn't see you kill the Negotiator so they won't fire on you (of course, using a Knife instead of a noisy firearm also helps). Another option to killing the Red Dragon is to stand on the sidewalk at the southeast corner of the limo, look west, and highlight the Uzi from the Inventory List (if you picked up the weapon from the dead Guard). When the Red Dragon Negotiator gets to the door then quickly pull out the Uzi and kill him. This, of course, will alert the Guards and will start to shoot you from behind. Just run like hell to the alley at the end of the street while occasionally angling left or right to keep the Guards from getting a good bead on you. Once you get to the next street after you go through the alley then turn left and follow it all the way back to your pick-up point to successfully complete this mission. 0=-=-=-=-=0 / Hong Kong \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >HKG2. When you start the mission then you need to run to the Sewer Grating in the middle of this area. From your starting point, run into the alley and stop at the Grating. Then look north at the wall. As you are doing this, the Target will appear and stop at the Restaurant. The Chauffer will then leave and head toward your position. What he will do is stop in front of you on the Grating and relieve himself. You will need to kill him and take his Outfit. Even though he is a Chauffer he is also a Guard and you can kill him without any penalty. However, another Civilian will be present in the alley, going from west to east behind you, and you need to wait for him to leave before you can kill the Chauffer. While you are waiting for this Civilian to leave you should bring up the Inventory List and highlight the Knife. Look east and wait for the Civilian to turn the corner before attacking the Chauffer. Slash the Chauffer and drag his body to the open Grating. The best thing to do is to go up against the wall as you are dragging the body then, as you are next to the opening, rotate yourself so the body is covering the opening and let go so he can fall in then fall down with him. After you do that then Change Clothes and climb out. You can also get a Beretta from the Chauffer as well if you want. From here, head to the Limo. Hopefully the nearby Guard has walked away from the Limo so you can do what you need to do. Get to the drivers side of the Limo, pull out the bomb, and use the Pointer Menu to allow you to plant the bomb. After that, then head back into the alley. At this point you should see a notice that your Target is leaving the Restaurant. Head to the sidewalk near your car then look east. You should see three Blue Lotus members at the street curve ahead of you (with a fourth around the corner and out of view). Pull out the Detonator and wait. The goal is to wait until the Limo is in the right position before detonating. You want the explosion to kill not only those inside the vehicle but those at the street curve which will complete all of your objectives. After awhile you should see the Limo come into view and head east toward the street curve where the other members are at. Wait just before the Limo gets into the curve before detonating. There is a short delay between pressing the button and the explosion. So, if you time it right, then the explosion should occur right when the Limo gets into the curve which will kill everybody. Then simply head to your car to successfully complete the mission. 0============================0 | Mission Walkthrough (Cheap) \ 0=======================================================> For this method you don't need to bring anything. As crazy as it sounds you can actually do this without bringing in any outside weapons. Because of all of the Guards it is easily the hardest mission to do cheaply. To successfully do this mission in this manner you pretty much have to kill everybody except the three wandering Civilians. There are a total of eleven Red Dragon members in this level. Two Uzi-wielding members at the northwest corner, two Shotgun-wielding members at the northeast corner, two in front of the Restaurant, four inside the Restaurant, and one that goes around the Map in a counterclockwise pattern. In addition, there are four Blue Lotus members at the southeast corner, one that Guards the Limo, one Chauffer (who is also a Guard), and three inside the Restaurant (including the Emissary). You have to deal with them in a specific way in order to be successful. This is because the Emissary tends to flee at the slightest sign of trouble. However, you can significantly increase your chances of success if you kill the Chauffer as early as possible. When you start the mission then head west and find the short dead-end alley at the southwest corner of the Map. At the end you will find an R93 Sniper Rifle and a clip of Sniper Ammo (this will give you seven rounds). Grab the Sniper Ammo but not the Rifle. Turn around and look east out of the alley. Wait for the cutscene of the arrival to start then press Esc and continue to wait. You should see a Civilian walking from left to right on the street beyond the alley. After he passes then grab the Rifle and head to the entrance of the alley but *DON'T* go out. Instead angle northeast to find the Red Dragon member standing at the southeast corner of the road intersection. Zoom in on him and nail him in the head. The other Red Dragon member will come closer to investigate. Nail him in the head too. Stay zoomed in and wait for the sound cues that tell you that the wandering Red Dragon member has discovered the bodies. Wait for him to turn the corner then nail him in the head. Then drop the Rifle. It is important that you need to use just three shots for this part since you will need to use the Rifle later in this mission. Go over to the bodies and look out toward the Limo. Keep an eye on the Blue Lotus member guarding the vehicle. If his back is to you then go and collect at least two of the Uzis dropped. If he is not then wait for him to come to investigate and turn his back before collecting weapons. Also keep an eye out for the Chauffer who is arriving back at the Limo after relieving himself. You may also need to wait for him to come to investigate before finishing up with weapon collecting. After getting all three Uzis then head to the Sewer Grating and wait. The Chauffer will eventually come back here again to relieve himself. Enter Sneak Mode, aim the cursor at his head, then pull out an Uzi and cap him. Then Holster it, get out of Sneak Mode, grab the Chauffer's Beretta 92, and head to the end of the alley to the east. Stay just inside the alley and look northeast to find one of the two Shotgun-wielding Red Dragon members. Pull out an Uzi but *DON'T* fire. Instead, let him see you with it then quickly turn around and go to the north-south alley nearby. This will lure him into the alley where you can safely dispose of him using the wall corner as cover. Poke around the corner and kill him with a short burst then quickly Holster your Uzi. This will attract the attention of one of the Blue Lotus members at the southeast corner of the Map. He will come into the alley and actually run up to you since you do not have a weapon out. Whip out an Uzi and quickly kill him then Holster again and grab his Uzi and Holster it. Another Blue Lotus member will run up to you and you can repeat the process. Keep an eye on your Uzi ammo. Switch to another one when the ammo gets very low. As long as the Blue Lotus members don't see you firing at someone then you shouldn't cause the Emissary to flee. At least three of the four Blue Lotus members from the southeast corner should come up to the alley one at a time as you kill each one. But you need to do something else before you can get the last one. Bring out an Uzi and creep to the end of the alley. You still need to get rid of the other Shotgun-wielding Red Dragon. Poke out just enough to draw his attention then go back around the corner and use it as cover when you kill him as he gets into view. After killing him then go through and drop any Uzi with low ammo. Then head to the southeast corner of the Map to find the lone Blue Lotus member. Get behind him, enter Sneak Mode, pull out the Baretta 92, and cap him. Then drop the handgun and pick up his Uzi. From here, head back to where you dropped the Sniper Rifle (which, if you were good in your aiming, should have four rounds remaining). Then go to the large red semi at the south side of the Map. Go just east of that and stop just before you get to a tree and look north. You should now be looking north through a long north-south alley. At the north end is the Restaurant. Go into Zoom Mode and you should see the Limo Guard and the two stationary Red Dragon members. Aim at the head of the Red Dragon on the left but *DON'T* shoot him. Instead, after you aim at his head, move your scope left so you are aiming at the top of the doorknob on the right side of the door. Then it is just a matter of waiting. Don't worry about the frightened Civilians. They're not going to be able to warn the remaining Guards. It will take some time but eventually the Emissary will finish his business and leave. The door will then open and he will walk into the Crosshairs. Fire one shot at his head to kill him. Then wait for everybody to settle down. However, two Blue Lotus members will stay inside the Restaurant. Look for the Limo Guard and nail him in the head. Then nail at least one, if not both, of the stationary Guards depending on how much ammo you have. Notice how they're just standing around like idiots as you pick off their friends. Not exactly the brightest crayons in the box. Drop your empty Rifle and use your Uzis to kill any surviving exterior Guards. Go to the door that the Emissary went through and open it. Let yourself be seen by the Guards then run for the alley just southeast of the entrance. Lure the Guards into the alley and use the corner near the sewer grating as cover as you pick them off (at least one of the remaining Blue Lotus members may follow you too). After killing all of the Guards then head back to the Restaurant entrance but to the other door. Go to the door, look northwest, and open it. Slowly sidestep right to find at least one, if not both, of the remaining Blus Lotus members. Quickly kill them with your Uzi to finish things off. If you take the time to explore the Restaurant lobby before leaving you will find a small storage room with *LOTS* of Sniper Ammo. Lot of good that'll do you now, right? After killing everybody off then head back to your pick-up point to successfully complete this mission. 0=-=-=-=-=0 / Hong Kong \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >HKG3. He has called a truce meeting to be held in a small Restaurant on neutral ground. For this mission you need to not only kill the Chief of Police but make it look like it was done by the Red Dragon which will implicate Lee Hong further. Dressing up as a Red Dragon and leaving behind a Red Dragon amulet will help in this cause. To acquire the Red Dragon Amulet and Outfit you must intercept and kill the Red Dragon Negotiator before he can reach the Restaurant. If the mission is successful then the Police protection will be removed and Lee Hong will be easier to assassinate. 0===================0 | Mission Objectives \ 0=======================================================> >>Eliminate the Red Dragon Negotiator. >>Hide the body of the Red Dragon Negotiator. >>Eliminate the Chief of Police. >>Place a Red Dragon amulet inside the Restaurant. >>Escape to the rendezvous point. 0=======0 | Reward \ 0=======================================================> $15,000. 0==============0 | General Notes \ 0=======================================================> This mission is a little trickier but still straightforward. If you had thought about just entering through the window without getting the key first then you will find that the door will be locked so you can't ambush the Chief that way. In addition, you'll be chased out by the Chief and end up back outside. And you really can't wait until everybody shows up since you need to stash the Red Dragon body and get the Amulet before he gets to the Restaurant. You also need to be dressed as the Red Dragon too or the meeting will be cancelled the moment you climb in the window if you are still dressed in your standard Suit. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> 0========0 | The Map \ 0=======================================================> There are two levels to this Map - Inside and Outside. The Inside is what is inside the Restaurant. The Outside Map has three sewer openings, in red, that are of the most interest. The two ladders are fenced in and cannot be accessed. 0===============================0 | Mission Walkthrough (Standard) \ 0=======================================================> For this method you need the Oyabun Knife and the Beretta 92 (Silenced) - 15 rounds. When you start the mission then head straight east and enter the Restaurant. Talk to the Bartender and get the Toilet Key. From here, enter the Restroom, close the door, and exit through the window. Now head to the northeast corner of the Map. It is here that the Red Dragon Negotiator will appear. Bring up your Inventory List and highlight your Knife. Then get up behind him and walk with him. If you look at your Map then you will see a Sewer Grating at the north central part of the area. This is where you need to drag the Red Dragon body when you kill him. As you walk behind the Red Dragon then you will notice that he will slowly cross the street at an angle as he heads to the intersection ahead. You will also see, just before the intersection on the sidewalk, a short pipe railing. After he gets onto the sidewalk, and just before he reaches this pipe railing, quickly Slash the Red Dragon. Next, drag the body to the nearby Sewer Grating. When you get near the Grating then go up against the wall and, when the body is near the opening, then angle northwest through the hatch so the body is over the opening so you can drop him into it. This takes care of two objectives. After that, fall down into the sewer and Change Clothes plus grab the Red Dragon Amulet. Then climb out of the sewer and head back towards the Restaurant. However, do not head to the front door. Instead, head back to the window you climbed out of earlier and re-enter the Restroom (but make sure that no one sees you before doing this). After re-entering the Restroom then bring out the Red Dragon Amulet and drop it thus completing another objective. Next, head to the door, open it, aim your cursor at the Chief's head, then close the door again. Then bring out the Silenced Beretta, open the door, fire about three quick shots at the Chief's head (killing him in the process), and then quickly close the door. If you do this fast enough then you shouldn't have any of the nearby Police come after you (mainly because of the speed of the hit and the silenced weapon). After killing the Chief then Holster your weapon and exit through the Restroom window again. After getting back outside then walk back to your car (getting your Suit back is optional) to successfully complete the mission. 0============================0 | Mission Walkthrough (Cheap) \ 0=======================================================> For this method you still need the Oyabun Knife but leave the Silenced Beretta 92 behind. You do exactly as before in regards to the Red Dragon member and re-entering the Restroom. However, the difference is in how you kill the Chief of Police. Ready your Knife and exit the Restroom. Then walk up the the Chief. He will actually stand up which makes it very easy for you to Slash him. Then quickly make a run for the Restroom before the Shotgun wielding bartender takes off too much of your health. Then go through the Restroom window again and run to the Sewer Grating where you left your Suit. Changing clothes again will keep the Cops off your back as you head to your pick-up point to successfully complete the mission. 0=-=-=-=-=0 / Hong Kong \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >HKG4. However, he is holed up in his Restaurant and has a small army to protect him. This Restaurant is also home to a Brothel which may be of some use. There is also a missing Agent that needs to be found. His last report indicated a large underground complex underneath the establishment. Finally, you need to find a valuable Jade Figure and bring it to the Herbal Shop before you can carry out the assassination. 0===================0 | Mission Objectives \ 0=======================================================> >>Find Safe Combination. >>Find Safe location. >>Deliver Jade Figure to the Herbal Shop. >>Eliminate Lee Hong. >>Captured Agent must survive. >>Escape to rendezvous point. 0=======0 | Reward \ 0=======================================================> $15,000. 0==============0 | General Notes \ 0=======================================================> This mission takes place inside a multi-level building including a maze-like basement area. This is why I suggest using the Compass for this endeavor at least for the first couple of attempts before trying without it. One of the more popular methods of killing Lee Hong is by use of the Poison that is provided to you in the Herbal Shop. However, using it will involve killing one of the Waiters to gain an Outfit. However, this will incur a $5,000 penalty against your reward. So, to prevent unnecessary Civilian casualties and to save money, I will use another method that will involve shooting Lee Hong through a skylight in the Restaurant roof. If any bodies are discovered then the Guards will warn Lee Hong and his HQ will be locked down. This doesn't matter much since you can't get past his Guard, Tzun, regardless of what disguise you have. This is nothing to worry about since there is more than one way into the HQ. In addition, the Jade Figure can be found in one of four random locations. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> 0========0 | The Map \ 0=======================================================> There are four levels to the Map: >>Outside >>Basement >>2nd Floor >>1st Floor The Outside Map is exactly the same Map you encountered in the mission "Ambush at the Wang Fou Restaurant". The Basement is where the Agent can be found. It has three Elevators and plenty of corridors and small rooms. The 2nd Floor has both the Staff Area/Guard Quarters and the Brothel with an Elevator and stairs to access both. The 1st Floor is the actual Restaurant area itself. It has a Restaurant Area, Kitchen, Bar, Lobby, and V.I.P. Area. 0====================0 | Mission Walkthrough \ 0=======================================================> For this method you need the Oyabun Knife. Although you have the option of bringing the Silenced Beretta 92 I found that there are better weapons to use in this mission. When you start the mission then you will be near the Restaurant where you were at in the mission "Ambush at the Wang Fou Restaurant". This time, however, you will need to go inside. Walk into the building to enter the Lobby and you will see several things. Ahead of you is a large pillar and a couple of dividers. To your left is a short set of stairs and a guarded door. To your right is another guarded door (with two Guards). You will also see a female Guard patrol about. Go around the pillar and you will see the entrance to the Bar. On the right side of the hallway leading to the Bar is another Guard standing in front of a door. As you explore the place you will find that you aren't going to get into many areas while wearing your current Suit. You will need to get a Guard Outfit. The Guard that is standing in the hallway to the Bar is the one that you need to take down to get an Outfit. The door he is standing in front of is a small storage room which is conveniently perfect for stashing a body. What you need to do is get behind him and open the door but stand behind him just enough to keep it open. Wait for the female Guard to pass you and enter the Bar before you make your move. When she does then get up and Knife the Guard and quickly drag him into the storage room and around the corner so he isn't seen through the door. Change Clothes then head back out. Turn right, enter the Bar, then turn left and head to the Bartender. Talk to him and he will tell you about the Brothel on the second floor. Even though you are in a Guard Outfit you are still seen as a customer. Odd. After talking to him then he will place a Flyer onto the bar which you will need to take so you can enter the Brothel. From here, head east back through the octogonal door and all the way to a single door in the east wall. Go through this door then straight ahead to another guarded door that will lead into the Brothel. Go through this next door and follow the way to another door that opens into a larger area. Angle southeast and you will come to a door guarded by a fat guy who will let you through to the upper floor where the Brothel is located. When you get to the top floor then you will find two women - and old woman and a young woman. The old woman will introduce you to Lei Ling who will lead you to her room. When you get to her room then you will find that she wants to leave the facility and will help you by giving you the Safe Combination if you help her escape (which you automatically do). She will then run out of the room and you have to follow her. She will lead you to a ladder which will get you to another part of the rooftop. After getting to the other side she will lead you to a gate. This is where she will make her escape, give you the Safe Combination, and inform you of the Agent being locked up in the Basement. After this then turn around and head back. You won't be able to climb the ladder but you won't need to. You will see three doors along the west side of this area. The one you will need to go through is the one at the top of the short set of stairs leading up to it (the middle door). You will now enter the Kitchen area. Proceed forward past the cabinets, which should be to your left, and you will see two doorways. The skinny one near the wall corner is the one that leads to the Basement area. Proceed down the stairs until you find the pair of Red Dragons. When you find them then go left around the corner, go left around the next corner, then turn right at the next one and go down the short set of stairs. Then go all the way to the wall at the end of this hall and turn right. If you are in the right place then you should see a Red Dragon on a lower floor guarding a door. This is the where the Agent is being kept. However, there is something that needs to be done first. Get up behind this Red Dragon, despite his protest, highlight your Knife, and look left. On the upper floor is a wandering Guard. When you see him and he moves out of view then Knife the Red Dragon and move to the left of the body. Highlight your Knife again and wait. Eventually the wandering Guard will come back and see the body. When he runs down to investigate then either Slash him or let him run off to warn Lee Hong. Then go through the door and talk to the Agent. The Agent is Agent Smith, a recurring character who you will run into several times during the course of the Hitman games. He will then give you the Safe location as you rescue him. That's two objectives down. Go back through the Basement the way you came and return to the Kitchen. From here, look at your Map. The Jade Figure can be found in one of four random locations (from hardest to easiest): >>The Guard Quarters ****************** This is in a small room in the Guard Quarters. To get to it you need to get to the Elevator at the southwest area of the VIP Area. Take it up to the Guards Quarters then turn right when you exit. Head to the junction and turn left to find this room. When you get to the Safe then you will find it guarded by two Guards and another Guard that will patrol the area. Look on your Map and find the room that says Staff Area. It should have several smaller rooms attached to it. Go into the Staff Area room to find a Guard at the southwest corner. Go into the room just ahead of you to find two more Red Dragons. However, the reason to go into this room is to find several clips of SMG Ammo on the chair near the door. In the room at the northeast corner is some AK47 ammo and two Body Armor vests. After you get the SMG Ammo then go to the Guard near the double doors then Knife him, grab his Uzi, and Change Clothes (so you can preserve your Guard Outfit in case you are identified). Keep the Uzi out and head to the Safe. Near the Safe is a closet you can enter despite the objections of one of the Guards. Once you enter the closet then turn around so you can look at the two Guards. You need to back away from the door and sidestep left to align the heads of the two Guards. Then fire a quick burst to kill them. This will attract the attention of nearby Guards who will come to investigate. Reload before they arrive then kill them as they appear. Once the coast is clear then open the Safe to get and Holster the Jade Figure. Then go back and get your Guard Outfit before proceeding. >>The Meeting Room ***************** This is in the room behind the double doors at the southwest corner of the VIP Area. Go through these doors to find two Guards. One that does a very short patrol and the other by the Safe. Get behind the one by the Safe and look right. When you see the patrolling Guard move out of view then Knife the Red Dragon. Then wait for the other Guard to re-enter the room and stand at the end of his short patrol route. Even though his dead friend is just a few feet away he doesn't do anything! Quickly get behind him then Knife him. Leave the body since it is out of view of the nearby door. Then open the Safe to get and Holster the Jade Figure. >>The Brothel *********** The Safe is found in the room west of where you first talked to the old lady when you were here earlier. When you get back up to the Brothel, head west through the door then continue forward past the old lady and through another door to find the Safe and a Guard. Get up behind the Guard then Knife him. Move the body into the northeast corner of the room then open the Safe to get and Holster the Jade Figure. >>The Storage Room **************** The Storage Room is located at the southeast corner of the Map on the first floor. When inside the Kitchen, head west until you get to the double doors leading to the Dining Area but don't go through them. Look to your left to find a single door. Go through this door then angle southeast to get to the door that you went through to get to the Brothel. When you enter back into the larger area where you found the fat guy then turn left to find a single door in a corner. Go through this door and through the next one to enter the Storage Room. Turn right and go past the wall extension to find a Guard and a safe. Get behind the Guard and Knife him then open the Safe to get and Holster the Jade Figure. When you have the Jade Figurine then go back to the Restaurant and head for the northwest corner where you will find a pair of double doors. This is the Herbal Shop. Go inside and talk to the owner who will provide you information and a bottle of Poison that you can use against Lee Hong. However, you need to be dressed as a Waiter to use it so, at least as far as this strategy is concerned, the Poison is useless. Exit the Herbal Shop and you will find a table with four bowls sitting under a skylight. This is where Lee Hong and his Guard, Tzun, will sit. Now it is time to go to the roof so you can assassinate Lee through this skylight. It is best to head to the Guards Quarters to get there. If you hadn't already been here before to get the Jade Figure then go and get the SMG Ammo and get Body Armor before heading to the roof. At the south side of the Staff Area room is a set of double doors. Go through then and through the next two to get to the roof. When you exit you should see a pair of stationary Guards. Head to the north side of the roof to find a High Voltage area. To the left and right of this area are the Restaurant skylights. The one I will use for the assassination is the one to the left. However, I need to clear the rooftop of four Red Dragons. Head to the southeast corner of the roof to find the door that goes to the Brothel. Go near the wall corner and wait for one of the two patrolling Red Dragons to stop at the end of his patrol route. Get up behind him and Knife him then Change Clothes. Next, go west and stand east of the Helipad which is south of the High Voltage area. The other patrolling Red Dragon will eventually stop at a point east of the northeast corner of the Helipad. Knife him and leave the body. Next, pull out your Uzi and go back to the two stationary Red Dragons you passed by earlier. Position yourself south of the pair and line them up, aim the cursor at the top of the head of the closest Red Dragon, then kill them quickly with the Uzi. The noise will definitely alert nearby Guards and they will start looking for a suspicious Red Dragon. But something else interesting happens. Head to the skylight where Lee and Tzun sit underneath. When you get there you may find that Tzun has left Lee to himself. Apparently the gunfire has caused Tzun to leave. Some Bodyguard he is. Aim the cursor at Lee's head then kill him with a quick burst from the Uzi then run back and grab your Guard Outfit. This will automatically free you from suspicion. From here, head back through the Brothel and through the double doors where the fat guy is standing. Then head forward to the single door in the corner (this is the door that leads to The Storage Room). When you get through the door then turn right to go down the stairs back into the Basement. Use your Map to help in finding your way to Hong's HQ. Continue north through the Basement area and you will then need to take another Elevator into Basement 2. Then go through Basement 2 and to another Elevator which will lead you into Hong's HQ. After exiting the Elevator then take a right which will lead you to a metal door which contains an Elevator that goes to the dock and a boat that will lead you out of Hong Kong and successfully complete this mission. He is hiding in a large Camp within a remote section of Columbia. Naturally he is protected by a large heavily armed force who patrol the jungle. However, there is also a local tribe that can be of assistance if you find them. There are three missions here and they take place on the largest Map in all of the Hitman games. Because you are in a remote area you will not be able to buy weapons and equipment for the second and third mission. Anything you buy for and find during the first mission needs to be carried over to the next two missions. It should be noted that any ammo you find for a weapon will not carry over to the next mission unless you have the weapon it is meant for in your possession. Since there are a lot of weapons that can be found this makes it very easy to go without them on the first mission which is the only one where you can buy weapons and equipment beforehand. 0=-=-=-=-0 / Columbia \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CMB1. That objective is to rescue the Chief's brother who is being held on a bridge at the south end of the Map. You activate this objective when you bring the Idol back to the Chief. However, you can rescue his brother before you give the Idol back. That is what I will do here. The game also wants you to find the Crash Site before the Soldiers get there. But you will more than likely run into four-man patrols who will fire on you because you are not in a disguise. For this reason I prefer to let the Soldiers find the plane while I go and disguise and arm myself. There are a couple of ways to safely get at the Idol when it is guarded by Soldiers. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> 0========0 | The Map \ 0=======================================================> There is only one level to this Map which is the jungle. The Village of the local tribe is at the east side of the Map. 0====================0 | Mission Walkthrough \ 0=======================================================> When you start the mission then you will be at the western side of this very large area. Your first priority is to find a weapon. Head northwest to find the double Weapon Cache. It is here that you can find the Beretta 92 and plenty of Pistol Ammo. Pick up one of the Berettas and all of the Pistol Ammo. Just south of this Cache should be a two-man patrol. When you find them then stay far back and find the pair of large trees just northeast of them. Stand between these trees and slowly sidestep right so you can find one of the Guards. Then shoot at him with the Beretta. If you stand far enough away then he can't see you because of the jungle mist. Don't worry if you waste multiple shots killing him - you should have more than 200 rounds. After killing him then sidestep right again to find the other Guard and do the same to him. Then go and Change Clothes with one of them. If they aren't there then there is another place to find a two-man patrol. From this point, the next objective is to head to the triple Weapon Cache located at the northeast corner of this Map. As you proceed forward keep an eye open for stationary two-man patrols. If you didn't get a disguise then you will be fired upon if you are seen. When you get to the triple Weapon Cache then you will find one with two M16A2s and several clips of 5.56mm ammo. The other two contain five clips of Machinegun Ammo and two M60s. Grab all of the Machinegun Ammo and one M60. Do *NOT* grab an M16A2. The reason not to get an M16A2 is that it is not a weapon normally carried by any of the Soldiers here. If they see you with one then any disguise you are in will be blown and you will be fired upon. The Baretta is also a weapon not normally carried by the other Soldiers so it is important to Holster it as soon as you are done using it. The M60, however, is carried by at least one Soldier and is considered an acceptable weapon. And it is more accurate and powerful than the AK47s carried by most of the Soldiers. Now, if you haven't got a disguise, then head south toward the single Weapon Cache. There are usually a two-man patrol you can find along the way so you can get an Outfit here when you kill them. The M60 will make it pretty easy to dispose of them. After you get the M60 (and 300 rounds) and a disguise then head to the Crash Site. When you get there then you will find the plane and several Guards. All of the Guards are on the west side of the plane. In addition, you will find a Guard that is standing by an open door and near the Holy Figure. You cannot get the Holy Figure until you get rid of this Guard. But you will also see that all of the nearby Soldiers are facing west and with their backs to this Guard. Use this to your advantage. There are two ways to go about this depending on what you bring with you: >>The M60 (Cheap Method) ********************** Go to the east side of the plane and look west toward it. Pick off the Guard on the wing. Then use the south end of the plane as cover as you take down the remaining Guards. It should be pointed out that the very loud noise of the M60 will attract Guards that may be outside of the Crash Site and will run to investigate. Pick them off while they are standing around then grab and Holster the Holy Figure when the coast is clear. >>The Knife/Fibre Wire (Standard Method) ************************************** Go to the east side of the plane and drop your M60. Then highlight your Knife/Fibre Wire, go to the other side of the plane, behind the door Guard, and Knife/Wire him. Then grab and Holster the Holy Figure and go back to the other side of the plane and grab your M60. Notice that the Outfit of the door Guard is a khaki color. He is of a higher rank than the other Soldiers (this info is useful in a later mission). Regardless of method, when you get the Holy Figure, then go to the bridge south of the Crash Site area to rescue the Chief's brother. When you get to the bridge then you will find several Guards. One will be in a tower at the north end of the bridge (and carrying an M60), three will be at the north entrance, three (along with the prisoner) will be in the center, and one will be in the tower at the south end. Head up northeast until you come to a tree then use it as cover as you pick off the three Guards at the entrance. The tree and the jungle mist will keep them from seeing you. As you kill them then two of the three Guards in the center will come to investigate. Kill them and wait for things to settle down. If additional Soldiers show up because of the shooting then kill them before proceeding. After that then head to the large tree southwest of your position and use it as cover to pick off the tower Guard. When you are finished with the tower Guard then head towards the bridge so you can take care of the Guard by the prisoner. If he fires on you as you approach then sidestep left so you can get the left bridge bridge between you and him. Stay back far enough so the foliage doesn't interfere with your sight of the Guard. Then slowly sidestep right and shoot at his head, with single shots, to pick him off so you don't risk killing the prisoner. If he doesn't fire on you then stand by the brick bridge support on the right side. Then aim at his head and kill him with a quick burst. Once this Guard is dead then the prisoner is free and he will head back to the Village. Even though there is an R93 Sniper Rifle in the Guard tower it is best to leave it alone and keep the M60. The M60 is best for what you need to do later. From here, follow the river northeast to the Village which is the grouping of small squares on the east side of the Map. As you get near the Village then pull out the Holy Figure. It is important to note that there is a bug that can occur if you talk to the Chief *BEFORE* the freed prisoner, his brother, reaches him. If this happens then you won't be able to talk to him again until you go all the way back to the bridge and back again. To prevent that extra work, head to the bridge just south of the Village then stop and look north. You should see a small hut north of you. Go to the hut and go to its right and continue north to the fence and stop. Look northwest and you should see a large hut. The Chief should be standing about twenty feet in front of this hut. Wait for his brother to appear near the Chief before approaching him. Talk to the Chief and he will help you by telling you of the passage to the Drug Lord. He will also tell you of the sacred grounds and to not upset their god. After the cutscene ends then so does the mission. 0=-=-=-=-0 / Columbia \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CMB2. After that then grab and drag one of the Guards then head south out of the construct. Then drag him southeast and to the Sacrificial Altar where you will find the Jaguar. Put the Guard on the Altar and back away. There are lots of patrolling Guards both outside and inside the Camp. There are also plenty of Guard towers as well. In addition, unlike the Guards from the previous missions, the Guards here will fire on you if you seen with the R93 Sniper Rifle. This is probably the best reason not to bring it with you from the previous mission. However, the Soldiers have no problem with you carrying the M60. Finally, there is a Weapon Cache right where you start and it has Body Armor and several Knives. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> 0========0 | The Map \ 0=======================================================> There are four levels to the Map: >>Mansion 3rd >>Mansion 2nd >>Mansion 1st >>Jungle The Mansion 3rd, 2nd, and 1st are the three floors to the Mansion in the center of the Camp. The one to the south has some Body Armor, two AK103s, and seven clips of 7.62mm ammo. The one at the far northwest corner of the Map cannot be accessed. Why it is there is unknown. 0====================0 | Mission Walkthrough \ 0=======================================================> When you start the mission then you will find yourself just north of the Camp. Right next to you is the Weapon Cache I just mentioned. If you didn't bring a Knife or Fibre Wire then grab a Knife from here (along with some Body Armor). From here, head to the fence then turn right and run alongside it all the way to the entrance at the southwest area of the Camp. When you get inside then head to a tent directly southeast of the Mansion. When you get close to the Mansion then you will see a cutscene of Pablo enjoying himself (and a Bomb on his desk which you need to destroy the Laboratory). When you get inside the tent then you will find a Minigun and four clips of Machinegun Ammo. Don't bother with the Minigun. Unlike with the M60 you will be fired upon if you are seen carrying the Minigun so leave it alone. Get the Machinegun Ammo (for your M60) then proceed to the Mansion. The next step is to clear the entire Mansion of Guards so you can proceed with the assassination of Pablo with no resistance. However, the Guards need to be cleared in a specific order to prevent interference as you dispose of them. Head to the front door and past the Guards (who will warn you). But don't go through the doors. Instead turn left and proceed forward on the wooden walkway and enter the first door you come to on your right. Inside you will see a stationary Guard and another door that leads further inside the Mansion. Get behind this Guard and Knife him. Then drop your M60 and drag him to the corner further from the door so he isn't seen by the Guards as you open the interior door. Go through the next door and you should see another stationary Guard in front of you and another one on the opposite side of the dividing wall next to him. Go to the Guard on the other side of the wall (and standing next to the door leading outside) and Knife him. Now go past the other Guard who is looking around to see what is going on. He is too skittish to do anything to him so leave him alone for now. Follow the hallway past the double doors and through the single door at the end. Inside is another stationary Guard standing by a large pot (this room is the Kitchen). Knife him then highlight your Knife and head to the door leading outside and open it. Outside is another stationary Guard. The idea is to let him see the body so he will run inside. When he runs inside to investigate the dead body then go up behind him and Slash him. After that then head back into the hallway and to the stationary Guard you left behind who has now calmed down. Knife him the drag his body partway into the hallway. Highlight your Knife then open the nearby double doors and go back to the body. Inside this room is a pair of Guards. One of the Guards will see the body and run to it. Slash him quickly when he stops. Then go through the double doors and Knife the remaining Guard. Now go back into the Kitchen and turn right when you go through the door to find another door. Go through it and you will be in the Lobby and you should see a Guard in front of you. Do *NOT* kill him. There is another Guard above you to the right who is guarding Pablo's office who will fire on you if you kill this Guard. Instead, turn left and proceed forward a few steps to find another door which is next to the door you just came through. Go into this room to find another Guard. Knife him then leave. When you exit the room then turn left to find the front doors. At the front doors you will see two sets of stairs. Go up the set on your left and you should see two doors. Go through the one furthest from you and you should enter the Bathroom. Inside is another Guard but he is dressed in a Khaki Outfit. He is one of two Guards in the Mansion dressed this way. You need to have one later so you can safely enter the Laboratory. Only a khaki uniformed person can go there. However, I'm just going to Knife this one and drag his body in the corner so he isn't seen by the Guard by Pablo's office. Then leave the Bathroom and go through the door near the top of the stairs. Inside you will see a ladder leading to the upper level of the Mansion. Here you will find another Guard. Knife him then leave the room and go down the stairs. After going down the stairs then go up the next set and through the first door you come to and close it when you enter the room. Here you will find the other khaki uniformed Guard. For now, Knife him and leave the body be. Then grab the Beretta 92SD and all of the Pistol Ammo. Then go through the next door that leads into the next room. Here you will find another Guard. Knife him the drag the body to the window. Then highlight your Knife and open the door to the upper walkway in the Lobby. Eventually the Guard by Pablo's office will see the body and run to investigate. Close the door and Knife him. Then go back downstairs and Knife the Guard in the Lobby. Now go to the front doors. It is time to remove the Guards outside. Stand to the left of the doors and open them. Aim your cursor at the head of the Guard you see. If the doors close on you then get close enough again to open them. After you aim at his head then quickly whip out the Silenced Beretta and kill him with a few shots then Holster the weapon and close the doors (if you can). Wait for the other Guard to find the body and return to his post. Then open the doors and sidestep right to see him, aim at his head, then bring out the Silenced Beretta and kill him. At this point I have now removed all of the Guards inside and outside of the Mansion. Now go back and retrieve the M60 and head to Pablo's office. Open the doors and Pablo will taunt you which begins the fight. Pablo will then grab his M60 and go to various places within his office to fire at you. When the fight begins then immediately sidestep left so you are out of the doorway. Then rotate, and gently sidestep, to your right so you can see a stack of three crates. What you want to do is to aim at the wall corner to the left of the top crate. Eventually Pablo will come to this point and fire a burst when he does. However, because of the drugs he snorted he will be pretty tough and will taunt you. After he taunts you then sidestep left to get out of his line of fire and move the camera right to see him. When he leaves that position then rotate and sidestep right and aim at the wall corner again. Fire another burst at Pablo when he returns and initiate another taunt. Then sidestep left to get out of his line of fire and repeat the whole process until you finally kill him. Then go into Pablo's office where you can find an M60, a Letter from Prof, and the Bomb. Get the Bomb then go and grab a Khaki Outfit from one of the dead Guards on the upper floor. Then exit the Mansion through the front doors and head west to the Laboratory. When you get to the Laboratory grounds then go to the east side and past the trio of Guards. Go through the door and then through the next one (and close it). Here you will see a bunch of khaki Guards but most of them will be on the west side and with their backs to you. There is one here on the east side that you can, and should, Knife. After Knifing him then remain in Sneak Mode. Carefully go left and to the Box of Explosives. When you get close enough then pull out the Bomb and Place Bomb. Then sneak your way back to the door near the dead Guard, go through it, and close it before you go through the next one. From here, head back out of the area and to the tent closest to the Hangar so the Guards can't see you. Then pull out the Remote Detonator and detonate the Bomb to complete another objective. It is *VERY* important to note is that, if you are using Windows XP, that the game may crash when it tries to load up the cutscene of the exploding lab. It happened to me about four times during multiple attempts but this happens infrequently. But it will *DEFINITELY* crash if you detonate the Bomb with you still inside the Laboratory. After the cutscene is finished then run to the Hangar and enter it. There are three Guards stationed by the plane but won't become hostile unless you hang around too long inside the Hangar. When you see the plane then quickly run to and enter it before the Guards get hostile to successfully complete this mission and leave Columbia. There is only one mission here and it takes place within the Hotel. Then he will head to the Restaurant where he will eat then go to the Restroom (you can kill him here if you wish). Finally, he will go to the Bar at the Casino. After that then he will head back down to the Sauna and start the pattern again. It should also be noted that his office secretary knows his whereabouts if you should lose track of him. Because the easiest way to eliminate him is at the Sauna then that is the first place I will go to when I start. It should be noted that this is the only mission where you actually need to jump from one platform to another. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> 0========0 | The Map \ 0=======================================================> There are four levels to the Map: >>Outside >>1st Floor >>2nd Floor >>3rd Floor The Outside Map is where you will find your Exit Points. The 2nd Floor also has various places of interest - Lounge, Flower Shop, Casino, and Conference Room. There are also three Metal Detectors, in red, that need to be avoided if carrying metal objects. The 3rd Floor has the Dentist office and the Rooftop. It also has a metal detector. 0====================0 | Mission Walkthrough \ 0=======================================================> When you start the mission then you will be outside the hotel. Head through the east door and go north past the desk. You can talk to the desk clerk if you wish and find the exact room where Frantz is staying (Room 202) but I prefer to leave him alone. In front of you, you should see the main Staircase for the hotel. To the right of it is the Men's Pool Entrance. Go through it and into the Changing Room. You will also notice a Guard standing by the shower entrance who will tell you to change if you want to enter the Pool. At the southeast corner you can find a Changing Room with a Swimsuit inside. Change Clothes and proceed to the Pool. The Guard will now go to the hotel entrance to keep you from leaving without changing clothes. Go through the Showers and into the Pool area. At the east side of the Pool is the Men's Sauna room. It is here you will find Fritz Fuchs. If you talk to him then he will tell you that he cannot stay here long because of a weak heart. Head back out and turn the nearby Handle. This will greatly increase the heat inside and you will hold the door shut so Fritz can die of a heart attack caused by the Sauna. Once he dies then go inside and grab the X-Ray Room Key which is used in his office. From here, go back to the Changing Room, Change Clothes, and go back to the Lobby. Now you need a weapon. The best weapon to use is the Knife which is found in the Restaurant Kitchen. Head west through the double doors to enter the Restaurant. At the northwest corner are two pairs of double doors that lead to the Kitchen. Go to the *RIGHT* set of doors and open them but stay just outside. Inside you should see the cook going about his business. If you enter the Kitchen then you will be told to get out. Just keep opening the doors as they close so you can keep an eye on him. Occasionally a couple of Civilians will come in and out of the Kitchen. On the counter, just inside and to the left, are some Kitchen Knives. When the cook enters the freezer, in the back, and there are no Civilians then go and get one of the Knives and get back out. From here, head to the Elevator just east of the Lobby to go to the second floor near Frantz's room. This will allow you to avoid the Metal Detectors that are placed on the 2nd Floor at the top of the main stairs. Turn right after you get off the Elevator then turn left to go through a set of double doors. Look to your left to find a Guard in front of a room door. This is Frantz's room. You can't get past the Guard but there is a way around him. If you look on your Map then you should see that this side of the 2nd Floor is nothing but guest rooms. They are being constantly serviced by three Room Service people who go around this area in a clockwise pattern. Go through this hallway in a counterclockwise direction until you either find one of them or find a Master Key in a door. The Master Key belongs to him and you need it to progress further. After grabbing it then you will cause the Room Service person to temporarily leave the floor so he can get another set of Master Keys so he can continue his work. In addition, you will also find a wandering Guard who goes around this area in a clockwise pattern. After you grab a Master Key then head to Room 201 which is next door to Frantz's room. Enter this room and go through the next door that leads to the balcony. Once on the balcony then turn left, head close to the railing, and stop. Across from you is the balcony to Frantz's room. However, you need to wait for the Guard to come onto the balcony and head back into the room again before you do anything. When he goes back inside then jump to the other balcony, enter Sneak Mode, go inside then Knife the Guard. Nearby you should see a small table with a Do Not Disturb Sign, a Letter fron Frantz, a Letter from Pablo, a Hotel Key (Fuchs), a Dentists Business Card, and a Luger PP08 SD. You can pick up and read the letters if you like but the main items of interest is the silenced Luger and the Do Not Disturb Sign. Pick up the weapon and sign then go back through Room 201 and into the hallway. Go counterclockwise through the hallway until you find a Room Service person. If he is pretty far away from Room 202 then head back there and stand east of the Guard then aim the cursor at his head. Wait for the patrolling Guard to pass you and go through the double doors before quickly bringing out the Luger and nailing the Guard in the head with a couple of shots. Then open the door and drag the body inside. Bring out the Do Not Disturb Sign, place it on the door using the Pointer Menu, then close the door. This will ensure that the bodies are not found for a long time. There is also this alternative method suggested to me by one of my readers, Dak: "On the level in the hotel where you have to kill the terrorist and get the bomb, there is another way into the terrorist's hotel room. Dress as a bellhop, go up to the guard, and tell him you have fresh towels. He will stand to the side to let you in. Don't go in. instead, you can easily get behind him and strangle him, and then drop him in the bathroom in the room across the hall. There is a risk that a bellhop or cop will see you, but at least the door guard presents his back to you so nicely." After that then enter the Bathroom and kill Frantz with either the Luger or Knife him. Then exit the Bathroom and head to the northwest corner of the room to find the Bomb Case. After grabbing the Bomb Case then retrace your way back to Room 201 and into the hallway. From here, head north through the double doors and go back to the Elevator. Take it to the 3rd floor then turn right and turn right again to go through a set of double doors. After going through these doors then turn left to find another set of double doors that lead onto the roof. When you get onto the roof then you should see a large dome to your right. From here, angle northwest to climb onto the next portion of the roof then climb down again. As you get near the dome you should see an open window. This leads into the Dentist office. However, before going through the window, enter Sneak Mode. Go through the window and you should see a Guard with his back to you. Knife him and drag his body near the window where you entered. Holster your Knife and you will drop the Bomb Case. That's okay, there is something else that you should do before you can go further. Remain in Sneak Mode and go through the double doors to the west. To your left is another Guard. Knife him then drag his body to where you put the other Guard. If you don't Holster your Knife before you go through the door then this Guard may turn around and attack you even if you are in Sneak Mode. After killing this Guard then grab the Bomb Case, go inside the X-Ray Room, and put the Bomb in the case. The Bomb is made of metal and will set off the Metal Detectors. Thankfully there is a way to get outside without dealing with them. From the X-Ray Room, head out then go through the open door where the second Guard stood and out into the hall. Then turn the corner, go through the double doors, and turn right again. Go through the next set of double doors, past the Guard with the metal detector, and through the next set of double doors. Then turn right and you should see four small brown hatches which should be on the wall to your right. Go past them and hang the next right to find the entrance to the stairs. Go down to the first floor and you should enter the Kitchen. When you enter the Kitchen then go left and then go right at the corner and head north to the double doors leading outside. After that then just go left to find the way back to the street and successful mission completion. For this reason I recommend bringing a Silenced MP5 with about 100 rounds for your first couple of times through so you can deal with them quickly and silently before doing the mission without it. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> 0========0 | The Map \ 0=======================================================> There is only one level to this Map and that is the harbor area. There are also three switches that can be used to direct the train to these gates. In the center of this area is the yellow circle that is the car you need to attach the GPS Transmitter to. 0====================0 | Mission Walkthrough \ 0=======================================================> For this mission you should have a Pentagon Knife and you *MUST* buy the GPS Transmitter. Without it you will not be able to complete the mission since it is required to track Ivan. As noted, the Silenced MP5 is optional. To do this cheaply leave the MP5SD behind and use the Uzis you get from the gang members you kill. When you begin the mission then you will be at the northeast side of this large area. When you look at your Map then you will see a blue blip. This is a train that will go around the tracks in this portion of Rotterdam. This train plays an important part in this mission. It is used to smash through the gates that block access to three Warehouses. One of these three Warehouses are used by the gang to conduct their business. There is one to the west (Pakhuis #12), one to the south (Pakhuis #14), and one to the east (Pakhuis #13). When you find the correct Warehouse then you need to divert the train to smash through the gate so you can get to it. In order to do that you need to use the Track Switches. There are three of them. The first one (Track Switch #1) is on the north side of the track loop near your starting position. The second one (Track Switch #2) is to the east of the gang car (the yellow blip on the Map). The last one (Track Switch #3) is just south of Track Switch #2. From your starting position, run to the south and find a wandering gang member. Get up behind him, Slash him, and grab his Uzi. Now go to the north side of the nearby tracks and head west. Eventually you will find another wandering gang member. Slash him as well and take his Uzi. From here, head southwest and you will find another wandering gang member. Slash him, grab his Uzi, and then go look for the correct Warehouse. The correct Warehouse where the meeting will take place will have Dobermans guarding it. You cannot get access to the Warehouse until you get the train to smash through the gates that block the way. But you don't want to do that quite yet at this point. The Dobermans can hurt you even if you brought Body Armor with you so you should use the fence to your advantage to help keep them at a distance. I should also point put that they can go through the standard closed gates nearby so keep that in mind. The Uzis that you get from the dead gang members are very inaccurate from a distance so it is best to use the Silenced MP5 if you wish to use the fence as a shield. However, depending on how close the fence to a given warehouse, you may be able to make a Doberman chase you through a fence opening by firing single Uzi shots at it. This should allow the Doberman to get close enough to you to quickly kill it with your weapon. You don't need to kill all of the Dobermans. Just the ones closest to the stairs on one side of the Warehouse. But, if the Dobermans are guarding Pakhuis #13, then there is something else you should do first before trying to get rid of them, especially if you did not bring a Silenced MP5. Just northwest of Track Switch #2 is a trio of gang members standing around a fire. Line up two of them then whip out an Uzi or MP5SD and quickly kill them then move your aim toward and kill the last one. This will keep them from interfering. You can also take the Uzis they drop. It may be a good idea to kill them regardless so you can get extra Uzis. After finding the correct Warehouse and getting rid of what Dobermans you can then head to Track Switch #1 and pull it. If the correct Warehouse is Pakhuis #14 then you do not need to do anything else. If the correct Warehouse is Pakhuis #12 then pull Track Switch #2. If the correct Warehouse is Pakhuis #13 then pull Track Switch #3. While you were doing all of this the Gang Car will go to the correct Warehouse on its own. This will not fail the mission. Now head back to the gang Warehouse and go through the newly open gate. Kill any Dobermans that attack you then find the stairs which is on one side of the Warehouse. The Warehouse contains six gang members that need to be killed off before you can find the Briefcase and plant the GPS Transmitter inside. But there is a specific way to go about getting rid of the gang members which will make the rest of the mission much easier. To start, switch to your Uzi or MP5SD, go up the stairs, open the door, and let a gang member see you. He will then start to head towards your position. Stay just inside the Warehouse until he reaches the top floor then step back out, sidestep right, and aim left about 45 degrees through the door. When the gang member comes to the door then kill him and he will drop against the cardboard boxes beyond the door. If you looked straight through the door instead of the 45 degree angle then you would find a gap between the cardboard boxes that you can actually knock people through when you shoot them and they would land on the wooden boxes on the ground floor. I do not want to knock them to the ground floor for reasons explained a little later. Sometimes they can come through the door and join you on the platform outside. But this will cause no problems if you kill them here. Keep an eye on your Uzi ammo. You don't want to run out of ammo in a close firefight. When you kill a gang member then grab his Uzi before going after another one. When you spot the gang member guarding the Briefcase then shoot at his feet to lure him so you can kill him. After killing all six of the gang members then you will get a notice that Ivan will arrive in three minutes. You would need to hide all of the bodies before he arrives or he will run if he sees any. By killing all of the gang members on or by the stairs then you don't need to worry about that since you have already "pre-hidden" the bodies. If by any chance you knock a gang member down to the ground floor then quickly move him behind a nearby crate. Then all you need to do is Change Clothes (to look like a gang member), go to the Briefcase, pull out the GPS Transmitter, and pick up the Briefcase so you can attach the Transmitter. After that then just stand still the whole way through to successfully complete the mission. 0=-=-=-=-=0 / Rotterdam \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >RTD2. "Plutonium Runs Loose" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Rotterdam / 0=-=-=-=-=0 0=========0 | Overview \ 0=======================================================> The plan worked and Ivan has led you to Boris' Ship. Unfortunately, he is getting ready to leave Rotterdam. The area is also blocked off and the gates are guarded. To make things worse, Boris also has a nuke aboard the Ship. More than likely he will arm it if he feels threatened. Once Boris is dead and the nuke deactivated then take the boat to a designated meeting point in international waters. The Agency also has information on a Weapons Depot nearby that can be of use to you. Interestingly enough Boris also served in the French Foreign Legion, just like the other targets you have eliminated. 0===================0 | Mission Objectives \ 0=======================================================> >>Eliminate Boris. >>Nuke must be disarmed. >>Take Ship to international waters. 0=======0 | Reward \ 0=======================================================> $75,000. 0==============0 | General Notes \ 0=======================================================> This mission is a bit tricky due to Boris' extreme paranoia. If the slightest thing goes wrong then he will be warned then arm the nuke and flee. However, you can use this to your advantage. There is an item in the Weapons Depot that will turn Boris' paranoia against him. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> 0========0 | The Map \ 0=======================================================> There are five levels to the Map: >>Main Deck >>Harbor >>3rd Deck >>2nd Deck >>1st Deck The Main Deck, 3rd Deck, 2nd Deck, and 1st Deck is the Ship that Boris is on. It doesn't have a lot of detail so these Map levels aren't of much use. The Harbor Map shows the fences that you must make your way through. In addition, there is the Weapon Cache to the southeast that will be very useful to you. 0====================0 | Mission Walkthrough \ 0=======================================================> For this method you need the Pentagon Knife. Everything else you need can be found on this mission. When you start the mission then you will be on a small boat dock. Pull out your Knife then climb up the ladder to ground level. From here, head northwest toward a Warehouse (Pakhuis #12). Stationed at the southeast corner of this building is a Guard. Run towards him until you are about fifty feet away from him then enter Sneak Mode and creep up on him and Knife him or line yourself with him then run all the way up to him and Slash him the moment you get there. Then grab his MP5, drag him around the corner (just to be safe), and Change Clothes. After this then head west to the tracks and turn north. Eventually you will come to a guarded gate. Even though you are dressed as a Guard they won't let you through. Worse, if they warn you then any attempt to get close again will result in you getting shot. So stay far away from them. However, you still need to find a way through. As you observe your surroundings you will notice patrolling Guards that can get through the gates. There are usually two of them that go through each gate. Thankfully they are not as sensitive as the gate Guards. Find a patrolling Guard and stay real close (meaning against his backside) to him. When you get to the gate then you will find that as long as you are sticking with the patrolling Guard then the gate Guards will not bother you. After going through this first gate then angle northeast to find another guarded gate. Find another patrolling Guard and do the same thing here. After going through that gate then go northeast then east past the corner of the fence and to another guarded gate that leads south. Once again, use another patrolling Guard to make your way through. At this point you can now head south and towards the Ship. I still need to go to the Weapons Depot but I am going to clear out some Guards first. Head south toward the Warehouses (Pakhuis #13, Pakhuis #14). At the east side of the north Warehouse is a Limo with a stationary Guard. Stay far away from him. Instead, head to the northeast corner of the north Warehouse (Pakhuis #13) and wait for a patrolling Guard to come by. After he turns the corner then wait until for him to go about twenty feet then get up behind him and Slash him then back a few feet away from the body. Another patrolling Guard will come around the corner and see the body. He will run toward it to investigate then Slash him when he stops by it. From here, head to the east side of the south Warehouse (Pakhuis #14). Here you will find another patrolling Guard. Follow him and, and when he turns the southeast corner, wait for him to go about twenty feet then Slash him. Go back to the northeast corner of the warehouse and wait for another patrolling Guard. Follow him then Slash him just before he gets to the southeast corner. The Guard by the limo will be too far away to see what you are doing. Now *RUN* to the Limo. When you get close enough then you will be warned by the Guard. The reason to do this is to get him turned so you can have easier access to his backside. Back away a few feet away from the Limo, get into Sneak Mode, then go around the other side of the Limo and behind him. Then Knife him and take his M16A2. With all of the Guards cleared from this immediate area it is time to head to the Weapons Depot. Head north until you find the east-west tracks and turn east. Eventually you will come to another guarded gate. Use the patrolling Guard to get through this one and stick behind him so you can go through the next one after this. After going through this gate then look to your left to find a rooftop Guard. This info is useful for later. Now run east along the tracks and turn south with them. There are Dobermans stationed at the west side of the two Warehouses you will go past but you are too far away to alert them. However, just past the second Warehouse, is a train platform where a Doberman is posted. Kill it with the M16A2 and proceed. Eventually you will get to the Weapons Depot but there is another Doberman posted just south of it. Kill it then enter the truck to find all sorts of weaponry. Inside you will find a MP5SD, a Franchi PA3 Shotgun, a Car Bomb, a Beretta 92SD, a Beretta 92, a Hardballer, a WA2000 Sniper, and Sniper Ammo. Grab the WA2000 Sniper, Sniper Ammo (which will give you a total of eighteen rounds), the MP5SD, and the Car Bomb. The Car Bomb is different than the one you used earlier in the game. This one is ignition based, meaning that it explodes when the victim tries to start the vehicle. This is the weapon that I will use against Boris. And, by acquiring these weapons, then you will also change one important factor of this mission. The Guards that patrol through the guarded gates will no longer do so. They will either become stationary Guards near certain buildings or disappear. So now you can't use the patrolling Guards to go through the guarded gates since they will no longer exist. You must now kill your way through. This is why you need to take the Sniper Rifle. After acquiring these weapons then head to the entrance of the truck and zoom in on the Warehouse. You will find a stationary Guard standing at the south side of this Warehouse (or you will see him running to this position). It may be a good idea to kill him before he finds the dead Doberman nearby. Either snipe him with the Sniper Rifle or drop it then run up to him, Knife him, and then run back to the truck to get the Sniper Rifle. From the Weapons Depot, head back to the tracks and proceed north all the way to the fence then turn west. Stop after a few steps then zoom on the guarded gate ahead. If you can't see the Guards because of the darkness then get a little closer and try again. Continue this until you can see the Guards when you zoom in. Pop the first Guard then kill the second before he either gets close enough to confront you or run away to warn Boris. After that then rotate right until you find a stationary Guard then nail him. Remember that rooftop Guard I mentioned earlier? You need to kill him too but only his head can be seen from your current position. Find him and pop him. After this then go over to the stationary Guard you just killed and pick up his MP5 then head back to the gate and stop just a few feet away from it. Use the Sniper Rifle to zoom in on the two Guards at the next gate beyond and kill them both quickly. Then angle right and up to kill another rooftop Guard. Even though he is far away he can still see what is going on and will fire on you if you go near the second gate so it is important to get rid of him. After killing him then drop the Sniper Rifle. You will no longer need it for the rest of this mission. Go through both gates and head back towards the Limo. Pull out the Car Bomb and plant it. This will take care of Boris later. After planting the Car Bomb then head to the Ship. At the south end of the Ship is the stairs leading up but it is guarded and you cannot go up them dressed as a Guard. You need to be disguised as a Sailor. Thankfully, just to the south at the corner is a Sailor. Get up behind him and Sneak him then drag his body just a few feet backwards and Change Clothes. From here, head up the stairs and to the deck. When you get up onto the Ship then you do not want to cause any kind of trouble or Boris will be warned and he will activate the Nuke and then escape before you can get into position to disarm it plus you will have to fight a lot of people to get where you need to go. From the top of the stairs, turn right and head north. Go through the first door that appears on your left then go down the nearby set of stairs. When you get to the bottom then you will see a door ahead of you and another set of stairs leading down to the right of the door. Go down these stairs and turn left. Continue forward and enter the *SECOND* door, that should be to your right, that you come to. Then turn the corner then head to the next one. Here you will find another Sailor just standing around. He is dressed differently than the others. He works in the Engine Room and you should just go up behind him and Sneak him. If you don't kill him now then he will interfere with the Ship's engine preventing you from leaving near the end of the mission and you will have go back down and deal with him. Killing him now will save you that hassle. After doing that then go back through the door and turn right. Continue forward until you get to the wall then turn left again and go through the next door. After you go through this door then turn left again to find the stairs that lead down to the Engine Room area where the Nuke is being kept. When you get to the Engine Room itself then go down the first set of stairs and look left to find another Sailor. He is dressed just like the one you just killed. Now get behind him and Knife him then bring out an *UNSILENCED* MP5 and aim and the next Sailor just ahead of you. Even though he is nearby he didn't see you kill his friend because of the steam. Kill the Sailor with the MP5. Because of the noise someone will go and warn Boris which is okay because at this point I *WANT* to have him warned. When he gets warned then he will activate the Nuke and make a run for his booby-trapped limo. But the Nuke is in the next room on this deck and I can disarm it almost as soon as he activates it. After killing this Sailor then get close enough to kill Ivan and carefully go into the next room, where the Nuke is kept and kill the Sailor there (he will be to your left as you creep up the stairs). Then Disarm the nearby Nuke which will take care of one objective then wait for Boris to activate the Car Bomb which will take care of another objective. Now all that is left is to start up the Ship and sail out. It should be noted that there is a Minigun in one corner of the Nuke room but, since all of the Sailors have fled the Ship at this point, it is pretty much useless. From here, head back out of the Engine Room and go back through the door you came through. When you get to the next corner then turn right 180 degrees and go up the stairs. When you get to the next deck then go up the next set of stairs, which should be to your left, and turn right 180 degrees when you get to the top. Proceed forward and go up the next set of stairs then angle southeast until you reach a short hallway. Go south into this hallway and go through the door that leads back outside. From here, turn right, follow the path, and go up the next set of stairs. At the top, turn right 180 degrees and you will see the door leading into the control center. Before entering, pull out your Knife, open the door, then Knife the Captain who is just standing there. Then Start Engine to successfully complete this mission. The 3rd Floor is essentially the attic area and has multiple rooms where weapons can be found if you take the time to explore the area. 0====================0 | Mission Walkthrough \ 0=======================================================> When you start the mission then you will be outside the Asylum. Head inside and you will talk to the Guard. He will then let you through and give you instructions to Dr. Kovacs office. After going through the door then *RUN* up the stairs just off to your left and *RUN* through the Operating Theater and through the next door. If you're wondering why you have to run through this area it is because the Guard will call up someone informing him of your presence. Then that person will call up the SWAT which doesn't give you a lot of time to do what you need to do. After going through the door and exiting the Operating Theater then go through the double doors ahead of you and turn left to find a First Aid Kit on the wall. Grab the Syringe and go back out. The interesting thing about the Syringe is that it has "infinite ammo". You can, if you're so inclined, use it to kill every patient and Guard in the asylum (I wouldn't recommend using it on the SWAT, however). To the left of the double doors leading back to the Operating Theater you will see another door. This is Dr. Kovacs office. Enter it to find the Doctor. After talking to him then get behind him and kill him with the Syringe and Change Clothes. These clothes will enable you to go throughout the Sanitarium without any problems. Go to the southeast corner of the room and grab the Sanitarium Key. This will give you access to all of the rooms in the place. At this point you should now see SWAT going all around the place looking for you. The disguise will fool them and you will be left alone. In addition, you can also talk to the patients that are running around the place. They will ask for various items like Teddy Bears, Rubber Ducks, or Books. If you give one the item he seeks then he will tell you of the TV Room. But I generally just avoid dealing with them and make my way to the TV Room on my own. From Dr. Kovacs office, head back out and down to the Lobby. Across from the door that the Guard let you through is another set of doors that lead into an office. Go into the office and up the stairs. When you get up to the next floor then continue west until you reach a Lab. Here you will find a Franchi PA3 (with ammo) on a windowsill and an Uzi on a table with beakers. Take the Uzi and Holster it. This will be the only weapon you need for the next mission (even though there are plenty of other weapons found throughout the facility). There is also no reason to go after any additional ammo for reasons outlined later. From here, head back down to the Lobby and through the door at the northwest corner. After going through the next door then turn left and go through the gate. After going through the gate, and up the short set of stairs, is a set of stairs in the corner. Go up the stairs then turn left when you get to the next floor. Proceed forward until you find a set of double doors to your right. This is the TV Room. Go inside and you will find a familiar person slumped over in a chair. It's Agent Smith and it looks like he's in trouble again. Talk to him and he will inform you about yourself and an antidote for the serum he has been given. Head into the caged room nearby and grab some Antidote. Give the Antidote to Agent Smith and he will lead you to a passage leading to the basement.....and some answers. Follow him and open the gates and doors so he can go through. He will eventually lead you to an Elevator. The passage is underneath it and Agent Smith will take it up so you can go down to the Basement. There is a Guard at the desk you need to kill so take him down. You can grab his Hardballer plus there is a Shotgun with some ammo in the locker next to him. However, you won't need any of it. Continue forward through the next gate until you get a cutscene of multiple clones. One of them goes through a door and has the barcode on the back of his head read so he can be released. This is the Series 48 clone, one step above you. He is stronger, faster, and more accurate with a firearm than you. There are a total of ten clones you need to kill before you can progress further. And you don't have enough ammo to take them all on. You need something a lot more powerful. And that weapon is the Minigun. And you need to find it fast before this clone finds you. When the cutscene begins immediately press the Escape key then turn right and *RUN* through the gate. Then *RUN* forward and turn right at the next junction and *RUN* through the next gate. Ahead of you should be a dark door that leads into a storage room. Inside this storage room is the Minigun. Immediately grab it and head for the door. Open the door but stand in the doorway. Remember the trick to spin the barrel by quickly tapping the Left Mouse Button. Aim at the left side of the open part of the gate ahead of you. The clone will head in your direction but won't fire through the gate bars. Kill him when he is exposed enough through the opening and before he can fire on you. When he drops then do the Holster trick by using the Holster command in the Inventory List and *RUN* back through the open gate then turn left and *RUN* forward through the next open gate. Continue forward to the end of the hallway then open the gate, go through it, close it, then turn right at the corner. You should see a Guard sitting at a desk. You can either use your Uzi to kill him or sneak behind him and use the Syringe (save the Minigun ammo for the clones). There is a locker nearby with all sorts of stuff inside. Open it and pick up all of the ammo and weapons so you can get at the Body Armor inside. After you pick up the vest then head back to the gate but *DON'T* go through it. Aim through the gate, spin the barrel, and wait. While you were doing all of this another clone was released and has been wandering the hallways looking for you. You will eventually see the clone in the hallway but he won't fire on you. The clones usually don't fire on you unless they are pretty close to the gate or that you fire on them first. Apparently the gate bars interfere with their aim. But that doesn't mean that they can't do serious damage to you even with the Body Armor. Still, the gate serves as a kind of shield that will help you. Aim between the bars and when he gets relatively close then fire off a burst to kill him before he can fire back at you. After that then another clone will be released. Aim through the *SECOND* and *THIRD* gate bars (from the left side of the gate) and at the open gate at the opposite end of the hallway. The clone will eventually appear in the background as he approaches the open gate. Fire a burst through the gate bars until he drops then spin the barrel again and wait. Repeat this pattern until all of the clones are dead. As you doing this you will be treated to the ramblings of your creator, Dr. Ort-Meyer. After you kill the last clone then drop the Minigun and go back to the first clone you killed. From here, drag him back to the Biohazard room. To get to the Biohazard room, go west through the open gate then all the way to the wall and turn right to find a closed gate. Go through this gate then all the way to the next junction and turn right to find the Biohazard room. If you don't drag a clone with you then you will be killed when you enter the Biohazard room. The reason is that you are not a Series 48 clone and when the scanner reads the barcode on the back of your head then the doors will close and you will be killed with poisonous gas. By dragging a clone with you then you can get the scanner to read the back of his head and allow you access. When the door finally opens then bring out either your Uzi or MP5 and proceed through to another operating room. It is here that you finally meet Dr. Ort-Meyer. He believes that you are a Series 48 and congratulates you. However, you can't let him get too close to you. You see, he has a Stun Gun and if he gets too close then he will notice that you are not a Series 48 and stun you. Then you will end up back in the same room you began the game in. So, to prevent capture, shoot the Doctor. This will end the mission and the game as you finally accomplish your last kill. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ /=========================================================================\ | >HTM6. Epilogue | \=========================================================================/ \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ As you regain your memory, originally suppressed by Dr. Kovacs' serums, it becomes clear the truth about your origins and why you were sent to kill your targets. Dr. Ort-Meyer created you from the DNA of himself and that of his friends, Lee Hong, Pablo Belisario Ochoa, Frantz Fuchs, and Arkadij Jegorov. They all met during their stints in the French Foreign Legion. After they left and went about their ways they helped to set up Dr. Ort-Meyer's experiments in DNA research and cloning using money from their respective enterprises. However, the impatience of the other participants, gathered from the letters left behind after you killed them, may have led Dr. Ort-Meyer into using you to kill them. In addition, judging from the Doctor's own ramblings, another reason for having his friends killed is so he could have all of the clones, and glory, to himself. The power he gained from all of the cloning research made him megalomaniacal. He then lured you back to the Asylum where you were created so he could eliminate the last trace that could lead back to his former friends' assassinations and to eliminate an imperfect clone - you. He hoped that the SWAT teams would take you down. But he underestimated you. A fact that became all too clear to him as you stood over him just moments before you ended his life. After this confrontation you leave the Asylum for parts unknown. And you no longer use the name Tobias Rieper. You now go by the name of..... Agent 47.
