Getting Started This faq will try to include as much information as a player may be wanting about this game, so I will try covering as many aspects of the game as possible and answer most things people could be wondering about. Also, all this faq will be full of spoilers, so if you really want to avoid them be sure to read ONLY the section you are interested in. 2.1~. Basic Controls Some people may be having some difficulty with the controls in this game, so now you can just have to look below and read them: - UP - moves your character near your opponent, if the radar is locked. Otherwise, moves it in front of your current position - DOWN - moves your character away from your opponent, if the radar is locked. Otherwise, moves it back from its current position. - LEFT - moves clockwise around your opponent, if the radar is locked. Otherwise, moves your character left. - RIGHT - moves counter-clockwise around your opponent, if the radar is locked. Otherwise, moves your character right. - CIRCLE - usually guards from damage, but may have another effects depending on the character you are playing with - L1 - press and hold in order to search for your opponent - L2 - charges ki, perfoming that flame-like thing around your character, like what usually happened in the series - R1 - click to jump, press in order to fly up - R2 - press in order to fly down - SQUARE - physical attack - TRIANGLE - Ki attack (hold it in order to send a more powerful blast) - X - dash in the direction you want, in front by default - L2+TRIANGLE - performs your Blast 1 attack - L2+DOWN+TRIANGLE - performs your Blast 3 attack, but in order to use it you need to be in "Full Power" ("Blasting" in the japanese version) mode - L2+UP+TRIANGLE - performs your Blast 2 attack - L2+X - quickly advances in the direction of your oppnent - L2+X+Direction - quickly advances in the direction you press - UP+X - throws your opponent Did all this information actually helped you? I hope so! 2.2~. Advanced Controls Here I will state some interesting techniques that newbies may not have noticed but which can help you A LOT in the game. Also, "[...]" means that you can keep on pressing that sequence until the characters is before his final attack, but the ammount of times depends from character to character, meaning that you may be able to get more hits with one and fewer with other. So, here are the techniques: - SQUARE+SQUARE+[...]+TRIANGLE - after the physical attack combo, you will push the enemy away for a large distance - SQUARE+SQUARE+[...]+X - after the physical combo you will stun your opponent for a while, making it possible for you to continue comboing. It's possible to score more than 99 hits, but be careful since when you are going to stun him he may defend, putting you on a serious position. - SQUARE+SQUARE+[...]+CIRCLE+Direction - after the physical combo, you will teleport to the direction you picked, but you may have some trouble mastering it - SQUARE+SQUARE+[...]+TRIANGLE+X - I couldn't confirm this, but after pushing your enemy away you will be able to follow him and cause some extra damage, this is called "Dragon Homing" - SQUARE+SQUARE+[...]+TRIANGLE+Ki Attack - by performing a ki attack after pushing your foe, he will have hardly any chance of defending/dodging it. And that's all for now, I guess... 3~. Main Menu Around here we will be covering the main sections of this game, most people may not find this to be very interesting but there are quite a good ammount of people who got the japanese version just because of the music, and not knowing japanese language they may find this interesting! Oh, and the order in which I will state the modes is the exact one in which they are listed in the game! 3.1~. Z Battle Gate This is the main mode, the Story one. By picking this option you will be taken to a place where you will find Mr. Popo, who will led you to where you can choose from many Battle Gates, which are actually the places where you can select what adventure you want to place. Those may vary from the story of a single movie up to an entire Dragon Ball Z saga, and all of these will be descripted in the "Walkthroughs" section of this guide. There is also something interesting that I must say about this mode, in it the same powerlevels of the series apply, meaning that you may have a lot of trouble trying to defeat battles you weren't supposed to win. 3.2~. Ultimate Battle This mode is quite a surprise, since it isn't usually seen in these type of fighting games. Basically in here you will have to pick your character (from among the one you already unlocked) and have him defeat a grand total of 100 opponents (you will fight some of them more than once). After fully picking him (or her...) you will be given 2 options, the first takes you to the proper mode, while the second one takes you to a trainning section, where you won't lose any points but you can win them by performing lots of battles (and they will be really easy, trust me!), but playing on difficulties other than easy you won't have your health fully restored at the end of each battle. When you are actually playing in the first mode, you will be given at least 1 point per each win, but you will be taken at least 2 of them if you lose your battle. You may be given more points for specific tasks (like finishing your opponent in less than a minute or defeating him by launching a specific move), but I can't all of them since they heavily depend on what battle you are currently facing. However, I can tell you that there are 3 different types of battles (normal, invitation and random): - In normal, you will just pick a character and fight the opponent you just picked. You will be given at least 1 point for your win, and you can be taken more than 2 if you lose. - Invitation seems to occur sometimes, as your current character will be given an invitation to fight with an higher level opponent, which you may accept or not. If you accept it and win the battle you will be given at least 5 points, but otherwise you may be taken at least 10. - Random battles are... exactly that, battles which will occur against a secret character but can only be found randomly. I remember you will get at least 5 points for a win, but I can't seem to recall what you lose otherwise. If you are wondering which characters you will be facing in each of the levels, they are: 100- Hercule 99-Videl 98-Chiaotzu 97-Saibaman 96-Yamcha 95-Tien 94-Raditzu 93-Nappa 92-Guldo 91-Zarbon 90-Bardock 89-Dodoria 88-Vegeta (Scouter) 87-Zarbon (Post Transformation) 86-Burter 85-Jeice 84-Goten 83-Recoome 82-Kid Trunks 81-Krillin 80-Captain Ginyu 79-Hercule 78-Frieza (1st Form) 77-Kid Gohan 76-Vegeta 75-Frieza (2nd Form) 74-Frireza (3rd Form) 73-Goku 72-Frieza (Final Form) 71-Trunks (Fighting) 70-Teen Gohan 69-Frieza (100% Final Form) 68-Trunks (w/ Sword) 67-Mecha Frieza 66-Super Saiyan Vegeta 65-Super Saiyan Goku 64-Cooler (Final Form) 63-Super Saiyan Trunks (w/ Sword) 62-Andriod #20 61-Andriod #19 60-Cell (1st Form) 59-Andriod #18 58-Andriod #17 57-Piccolo 56-Andriod #16 55-Cell (2nd Form) 54-Super Saiyan Trunks (Fighting) 53-Super Saiyan Teen Gohan 52-Super Saiyan Super Vegeta 51-Cell Jr. 50-Super Saiyan Super Trunks 49-Bojack (Post Transformation) 48-Gohan 47-Great Saiyaman 46-Super Saiyan 2 Goku 45-Cell (Perfect Form) 44-Super Saiyan Goten 43-Super Saiyan Kid Trunks 42-Super Saiyan Gohan 41-Perfect Cell (Perfect Form) 40-Gotenks 39-Super Saiyan 2 Gohan 38-Demon King Dabura 37-Super Saiyan 2 Teen Gohan 36-Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta 35-Majin Buu (Good) 34-Super Saiyan 3 Goku 33-Majin Vegeta 32-Super Saiyan Gotenks 31-Broly (Legendary Super Saiyan) 30-Super Buu 29-Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks 28-Ultimate Gohan 27-Majin Buu (w/Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks Absorbed) 26-Majin Buu(w/Ultimate gohan Absorbed) 25-Vegito 24-Kid Buu 23-Super Vegito 22-Janemba 21-Super Saiyan Gogeta 20-Baby Vegeta 19-Super 17 18-Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta 17-Super Saiyan 4 Goku 16-Super Saiyan 4 Super Gogeta 15-Yamcha 14-Krillin 13-Saibaman 12-Chiaotzu 11-Guldo 10-Videl 9-Ginyu 8-Android #20 7-Majin Buu 6-Cell 5-Frieza 4-Piccolo 3-Kid Gohan 2-Vegeta (Scouter) 1-Goku Yeah, I doubt anyone will actually read it, but I had to list it anyway... 3.3~. World Tournament I doubt most people don't know what to find in here, but I will state it anyway. This is the mode where you can create tournaments, and the 4 different options only differ in the number of battles (and difficulty) you will have to face in each of them. In order to unlock one (besides the first one) you will have to win all the battles in the tournament before that one. This enables you to get: - Novice (3 rounds); - Adept (4 rounds); - Advanced (5 rounds); (In those 3 you can get ring-outs and all that) - Cell Games (5 rounds), in this one you won't get any ring outs and you will always face Perfect Cell (Perfect Form) in the final round, which is always nice. I must finally say that you don't seem to win valuable items for winning the 3 lower tournaments, but you usually get a random yellow potara for winning Cell Games. 3.4~. Dueling You get 3 options (1P vs COM, 1P vs 2P, COM vs COM), pick two characters and have them battle. That's purely what you are going to find in this mode, a place where you can have your own battles not only against the console but also against some friends, provided they want to play against you. 3.4.1~. Password After performing some in-game tasks (collecting all the "Dragon Balls" and wishing for it), you will be able to pick this option on this mode. There, you can input some of the passwords for characters created in "Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3" and you will get an adapted equivalent for that same character to use in the Duel Mode. In the place where you chose your character a new icon will appear, and by picking it you will be able to access the character either for playing with him or fighting him. However, there are some passwords you can't use, and those include the following characters: - Omega Shenron - Supreme Kai - Uub Maybe there are more than these, but these are the only ones I am sure of. Also, their stats will depend on what stats you currently had them in "Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3", and from what I heard (I can't be sure, as I didn't tried it yet) you can even get different characters by having different capsules (like transformation or fusion ones) equipped on the original game. Finally, you can also contribute to this section by sending your own passwords, be sure to read section "How can I contribute to this faq?" in order to know what you have to do! 3.5~. Practice By picking this option you will be taken to a new menu with 2 different options, being the first one an actual practice mode (where you pick two characters and train the first one, to perhaps check his moves or something) where you can change several options, like the way they behave and stuff like that. In the second one, one of the most important things for newbies, you will be able to read everything about the gameplay. Oh, and if you are wondering, despite reading an area puts a tick near it, you won't get anything for finishing them all. 3.6~. Evolution Z Here you will be able to perform several operations with the Z-items, which are kinda like the capsules (special mention for you, Dragon Ball Z Budokai 1~2~3 lovers). In the first one (you can press SQUARE to listen to an explanation of it, but if you are reading this I doubt you are actually interested in it) you can pick the items you currently have and equip them on your characters. The second option, "Z item list", is obviously a list of all the Z-items you currently have, and there's even an interesting reference in the upper right corner to the number of items you still have to get in order to fully complete that collection. Finally, the third option is one of the most important in this game, as it lets you fuse items, (provided you have some purple items called "Z Item Fusion", which you can get in the battles from the Z Gate Mode) which can not only create better ones but also be used to unlock lots of interesting characters. In order to use it, press that option and then "YES", the first option. Now, just find the 2 items you wanna fuse and select them! If it is actually possible to fuse them, then you will be given the chance to do it! Oh, and this last option will only show up after you got your first "Z Item Fusion"! Also, the game doesn't get saved authomatically after fusing, so be sure to do it manually, ok? :) 3.7~. Options Here you will find the usual stuff, with: - "Game Options" lets you change some options concerning the difficulty of the battles; - "Save/Load"; - "Controller" allows you to change some definitions of it; - "Screen", using it you can change several options about the camera in the battles, like picking a different angle; - "Sound" grants you the opportunity to change the volume of several thing, apart from LETTING YOU CHOOSE TO HEAR JAPANESE VOICES, which is always nice. That's all, unless you actually needed an explanation about what the last thing in this section was used for... 3.8~. Character Illustrations You won't have this initially unlocked, but after doing a certain task you will unlock it. Here you can see not only images of all the characters in the game but also information about them. That information will include stuff like a small bios of the character and the mention to whoever made their voice in the american and japanese versions of the series. In order to unlock a character in the listing you will have to 4~. Walkthroughs In this section you will be able to read about all the stories available in the Z Battle Gate, and I will try to provide as many information about each of them as possible. Also, I must say that this is a fighting game, and despite being here creating these walkthroughs it may be sometimes hard to tell a player what to do in each possible situation. Therefore, if a certain Saga (or "story") has a lot of battles I won't give details about all of them, but I will try to write about the major problems that a player may find in them. I will split each section in "areas" (consider each area as a place where you will need to press ONLY left or right to access more battles), then saying what battles will be found in each area. 4.0~. General Strategies On the "Z Battle Gate" mode you will mainly find 3 types of battles, and there is a specific strategy you should use in each of them: - "Survive for X seconds" - one of the hardest ones, there is some strategy involved in this type of battle. Your idea is basically blocking your foe's physical attacks and then counter him, in order to spend some time. Then, push him away, and when he is getting up hit him with a Kamehameha (or whatever long distance special you have) in order to throw him down. Keep repeating this, the time will elapse and eventually you will win! However, be aware that you can actually kill your foe in some of these battles, but that will only make you have to replay the level again. - "Win battle with attack Y" - you should basically just do a normal battle until your foe is in its yellow life bar, and then retreat to a place far from him. Recover your ki until you have enough energy to cast the said attack and go find him, lauching your attack when you are as near from him as possible. - "Defeat character" - do everything you want, but at the end your enemy MUST be defeated. Considering this information, before entering an actual battle you should evalute your best strategy, and then obviously use it in the battle itself. 4.1~. Sayan Saga battle 1 - Goku vs Raditz battle 2 - Piccolo vs Raditz battle 3 - Piccolo vs Great Ape battle 4 - Kid Gohan vs Piccolo battle 5 - Yamcha vs Krillin battle 6 - Krillin vs Yamcha battle 7 - Chiaotzu vs Tien battle 8 - Tien vs Chiaotzu battle 9 - Tien vs Saibaman battle 10 - Yamcha vs Saibaman battle 11 - Krillin vs Saibaman battle 12 - Krillin vs Nappa battle 13 - Chiaotzu vs Nappa battle 14 - Tien vs Nappa battle 15 - Kid Gohan vs Nappa battle 16 - Goku vs Nappa battle 17 - Goku vs Vegeta (Scouter) battle 18 - Goku vs Great Ape Vegeta battle 19 - Great Ape vs Great Ape Vegeta battle 20 - Great Ape vs Vegeta -----> Area 1 (battle 1) Probably being your first battle in this mode, you could have some trouble with it. Did you read the "Tutorial" available on the "Practice" section from the main menu? If not, be sure to do it. Also, here you will just have to "fight" Raditz until the time runs out, and even if you are an amazing player (like I was) DON'T try killing him, or else you will have to repeat this battle again. I must also say, since this is probably your first "survival" battle, that there is some strategy involved in this type of battle. YEY, you just won your first battle! :) -----> Area 2 (battle 2) REally easy, unless you don't know the controls. Here it will be the first time you are asked to win using move X (in here, it turns out being Special Beam Cannon) and you will lose if you don't end the battle that way. So, here just keep fighting until you have enough ki (or you can just recharge it!) and then use that move, maximum 2 times will be enough to end it all. -----> Area 3 (battles 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) Here people usually just have trouble with battle number 3, since in there you need to have piccolo battle against Gohan in Great Ape (yeah, I know the name of this form, but I prefer to give it the name it was given in the game itself) form. Well, as soon as the battle starts go down as much as possible, recharge your ki and then use any of your special attacks. Keep on repeating and eventually the battle will end! :) -----> Area 4 (battles 9, 10 and 11) Apart from the Saibaman's rush attack they are quite easy to battle, I hope none of you have trouble doing so! -----> Area 5 (battles 12, 13, 14 and 15) This one may take you some time, but perhaps the battle with Chiaotzu will be your most difficult one, since you may not know how to use the attack you are prompted to. Well, just have at least one blue ball filled and then recharge your ki after its normal yellow bar (you must recharge it all in a single turn!), when it reaches the end of the blue bar you will be able to use this. So, be sure to perform this task when your foe is almost dying and then you will win easily! :) -----> Area 6 (battle 16) Easy one when you know to do. Start by attacking your foe, activate Kaio-ken powerup when possible (you need at least 2 blue balls filled...), attack your foe and, when he is almost dying, use "Kaio-ken Attack" and you'll win it! -----> Area 7 (battle 17) Just use everything you've learned up to now and you won't even have many problems. After winning it you'll see a final cutscene but you should return to this area in order to fight some interesting extra battles. You will also get "Scouter" for winning. -----> Area 8 (battle 18) NOW, THE MOST ASKED BATTLE!!!! However, due to lack of time I will be leaving this out until next version! Just kidding! :P Well, this is surely one of the toughest battles in the entire game, so I'll try giving you enough information so that you have an easier time TRYING to beat it. As soon as the battle begins you should go as up as possible. Then, when Vegeta is going up and you have the angle for it, do a Kamehameha attack. Then, keep on filling your ki and doing this same thing. Yes, I know that following this strategy it is still hard to beat him, but there are a couple things you can try, like lowering the game difficulty (if you never went into the options you will be playing on the normal difficulty level)... Sorry, this is as far as I can help you, unless you can pay me to go to your house and beat the battle for you. No, I am not joking, we faq writers also have our needs for money, you know? :| Plus, usually I wouldn't accept this type of contribution, but a user named "cora372" mailed me a strategy which really worked and I found it to be simply amazing. I shall now quote him: " As soon as the battle starts pull off a Kamehameha and that should buy you a few seconds, now charge up just a little bit of Ki and then hit L2+R1 to shoot up into the air. Now this is the tricky part. When he flies up to come and get you, right before he can land a hit on you, do a real quick Dragon Dash away from him. TIMING IS CRUCIAL! Now if you did this right you should be just out of his range and he will start doing his combo, which is very slow for an Oozaru so it will buy you some time! =D Now charge up a bit of Ki, the amount it takes to use a Kamehameha, and Dragon Dash left/right. Now just repeat doing this, getting out of his range, stop, charge Ki, and get the hell out of there, and after several times this will be over before you know it! " By thinking about this I could find a slightly better strategy... While your foe is on the air and far away (or if he is performing a combo), continue recharging your Ki. Then, when he finishes his combo and is starting to go on your direction, launch a Kamehameha, which will throw him down and give you some more time. This way, you will have many more chances of winning this hard battle! -----> Area 9 (battle 19) Easy, when you know what to do. As soon as possible, get away from your opponent and start recharging ki, then just keep spamming him with your ki attacks and keep repeating, eventually he will die. -----> Area 10 (battle 20) Do the same as in the battle before, and everything will go fine! :) 4.2~. Frieza Saga battle 1 - Kid Gohan vs Dodoria battle 2 - Krillin vs Dodoria battle 3 - Vegeta vs Dodoria battle 4 - Vegeta vs Zarbon battle 5 - Vegeta vs Zarbon Post-Transformation battle 6 - Kid Gohan vs Guildo battle 7 - Krillin vs Guildo battle 8 - Chiaotzu vs Guildo battle 9 - Vegeta vs Recoome battle 10 - Kid Gohan vs Recoome battle 11 - Goku vs Recoome battle 12 - Goku vs Burter battle 13 - Goku vs Captain Ginyu battle 14 - Vegeta vs Jeice battle 15 - Kid Gohan vs Goku battle 16 - Krillin vs Goku battle 17 - Vegeta vs Goku battle 18 - Vegeta vs 1st Form Frieza battle 19 - Kid Gohan vs 2nd Form Frieza battle 20 - Krillin vs 2nd Form Frieza battle 21 - Piccolo vs 2nd Form Frieza battle 22 - Kid Gohan vs 3rd Form Frieza battle 23 - Piccolo vs 3rd Form Frieza battle 24 - Vegeta vs Final Form Frieza battle 25 - Goku vs Final Form Frieza battle 26 - SSJ Goku vs Final Form Frieza battle 27 - SSJ Goku vs Final Form Full Power Frieza -----> Area 1 (battles 1, 2 and 3) Easy battles, just do exactly what you are asked and I don't think you will have any trouble at all. However, be sure to defeat Dodoria with Vegeat in order to get a "Vegeta" purple potara. -----> Area 2 (battle 4) Another easy battle, Vegeta will be able to do his win as easy as in the anime. -----> Area 3 (battle 5) Your foe is stronger now, but by using your ki attacks (and even your most powerful one, if you are a newbie and you feel like it...) you may have a battle easier than expected. -----> Area 4 (battle 6 and 7) Your foe being one of the weakest characters in the game, I don't think you will have much trouble in defeating him, since just some ki attacks will do the trick. -----> Area 5 (battle 8) Did you read the strategy for the previous battle? If so, just be sure to repeat it in this one, since that will be all you will have to do in order to win this one too. -----> Area 6 (battle 9 and 10) Well, use the general strategy for these type of battles and everything will go just fine. -----> Area 7 (battle 11) Ok, here you are asked to finish the battle with a Kaio-ken attack, do you still remember how to do it? I hope so, since for the rest of the things you will also find here an easy level. -----> Area 8 (battle 12) Despite facing the quickest character in the game, he turns out also being a weak physical (and ki) attacker, so I bet he won't be the cause of any troubles for you. -----> Area 9 (battle 13) Another easy battle, unlike what slightly happened in the series. Your foe actually seems to have his "classic" move to change bodies (and health) with you, but fortunately I don't think you will ever see it in action, as he hardly ever uses it. Just proceed as usual and this will be easily another forgotten villan. -----> Area 10 (battle 14) Easy battle, ki attacks will be more than enough to defeat your enemy. -----> Area 11 (battle 15, 16 and 17) Since Ginyu changed bodies with Goku you will now need to defeat him, and that actually turns out being an easy task. Your final ki attacks are good enough to cause some series damage on your foe, so be sure to use and abuse them. -----> Area 12 (battle 18) Vegeta's ki attacks will be more than enough to handle Frieza in this form, so once again you should mainly rely on them to win. -----> Area 13 (battle 19, 20 and 21) Once again you will be facing easy battles, but when you are asked to survive with Krillin be specially careful of your foe's "Death Beam", as it seems to cause an enourmous ammount of damage. -----> Area 14 (battle 22 and 23) These two survival missions are THAT hard, but once again you should be specially careful with Frieza's "Death Beam", as it causes a fair ammount of damage, but also with his physical attacks, as they come in large combos and quicker than you could be expecting. You may have some problems at first tries, but eventually you will manage to do it, even if it requires you to do some boring strategies, like the ones I used against Great Ape (Vegeta), do you remember them? I hope so. -----> Area 15 (battle 24) This may turn out easier than expected, if you are FULLY prepared for his ki attacks, which deal an amazing damage to your weakened Vegeta. Therefore, try slowing him down by not only protecting from his quick physical attacks but also by attacking him when you get the chance for it, basically using a lot of combos and Vegeta's "Galick Gun" to send him down for a couple seconds. At the end you will get "Hatred of Sayans". -----> Area 16 (battle 25) This battle is quite easy to accomplish if you use the Kaio-ken powerup as soon as possible and then proceed by attacking with a large ammount of combos, but you can try to keep Frieza away from you and using a barrage of Kamehame attacks, recharging the ki and, when he is on the yellow health bar, launching the required (I SAID REQUIRED!) "Spirit Bomb" that will probably kill him, if you used it near enough and he didn't dodged it. -----> Area 17 (battle 26) You simply have to defeat your opponent in here, but DON'T PLAY WITH HIM. I know you may think this will be easy, but he can dodge some of your ki attacks, block SOME of your combos and even efectively counter your ki attacks by disappearing, appearing and quickly launch a ki attack against you when you are not prepared, inflicting a lot of damage. So, your best bet is striking with some SMALL combos, then get back a little and finally countering with a "Super Kamehameha" (or "High Power Rush", if you are nearby him). Keep repeating and eventually you will win. -----> Area 18 (battle 27) Frieza looks impressive in this battle, hum? Well, he is not THAT good, and using the same strategy that I've told you in the battle before you may stand a good chance against him. Kick his ass and you FINALLY finished this story, but unfortunately he isn't dead yet. Oh, and I was almost forgetting something, you must end this battle by using a "Super Kamehameha", I mean, S-U-P-E-R K-A-M-E-H-A-M-E-H-A, did you read it? I had to say this, since most people were mailing me that they couldn't finish this battle, which happened because they weren't using the right move! >_<'''' Oh well... 4.3~. A Lonesome, Final Battle battle 1 - Bardock vs Dodoria battle 2 - Bardock vs 1st Form Frieza battle 3 - Bardock vs Goku -----> Area 1 (battle 1) This guy isn't hard at all, just give him some random punches and, as soon as you have the opportunity to do it, use "High Speed Rush". Now, just keep recharging your ki, and when possible keep on launching that attack. -----> Area 2 (battle 2) This is a lot harder, but eventually you will get the hang of it. Your foe is an amazing attacker, so be sure to defend yourself when he is striking you physically and then counter with your own strikes, but don't try to extend the combo much or he will counter you. Also, his ki attacks may damage you a lot, so you need to try defending (or dodging, depending on your skills) them at all costs. When possible, and if you have a full ki bar, try running away and entering the blue bar, then go nearer Frieza and use your most powerful attack ("Full Power Energy Ball"). Keep repeating all these steps, making more emphasis in your personal tastes in the move's area, and eventually you will beat him. Then, you will be taken to a movie and this story will "end", but you should return here to fight an extra battle. -----> Area 3 (battle 3) Your final foe in this story will be Goku, and as you may imagine he is a strong opponent. Use the same technique that you used against Frieza, but be aware that this foe is even more dangerous than him, and generally uses even more physical attacks. When possible, go for "Full Power Energy Ball", but before launching it you should stun your foe at the end of a physical combo. Eventually you will win the battle, making a purple "Kakarot" potara join you. 4.4~. The Universe's Mightiest Warrior battle 1 - Goku vs Cooler Final Form Here you will have to fight against Cooler's Final Form, and since you will controlling base form Goku you could probably expect this to be an hard battle. Yes, he is strong and all his ki attacks heavily damage you, so you will have to give him everything you've got and try to dodge all his attacks. It is hard to tell someone what to do, but by using your Kamehameha and Spirit Bomb (at long distance) you will probably damage him more without putting yourself into danger. After winning you will get "Frieza's Older Brother", "Z Item Fusion" and some random items. 4.5~. Android Saga battle 1 - SSJ Trunks with Sword vs Mecha Frieza battle 2 - Yamcha vs Android 20 battle 3 - SSJ Goku vs Android 19 battle 4 - SSJ Vegeta vs Android 19 battle 5 - Piccolo vs Dr. Gero battle 6 - SSJ Vegeta vs Android 18 battle 7 - Piccolo vs 1st Form Cell battle 8 - SSJ Trunks (Fighting) vs SSJ Super Vegeta battle 9 - Piccolo vs Android 17 battle 10 - Android 16 vs 1st Form Cell battle 11 - Tien vs 2nd Form Cell battle 12 - Teen Gohan vs Goku battle 13 - SSJ Super Vegeta vs 2nd Form Cell battle 14 - SSJ Super Vegeta vs SSJ Trunks (Fighting) battle 15 - SSJ Super Vegeta vs Perfect Cell battle 16 - SSJ Super Trunks vs Perfect Cell battle 17 - Hercule vs Perfect Cell battle 18 - SSJ Goku vs Perfect Cell battle 19 - SSJ Teen Gohan vs Perfect Cell battle 20 - SSJ Goku vs Cell Jr. battle 21 - SSJ Super Vegeta vs Cell Jr. battle 22 - SSJ Super Trunks vs Cell Jr. battle 23 - Piccolo vs Cell Jr. battle 24 - Krillin vs Cell Jr. battle 25 - Yamcha vs Cell Jr. battle 26 - Tien vs Cell Jr. battle 27 - SSJ2 Teen Gohan vs Cell Jr. battle 28 - SSJ2 Teen Gohan vs Perfect Cell battle 29 - SSJ Super Vegeta vs Super Perfect Cell battle 30 - SSJ2 Teen Gohan vs Super Perfect Cell -----> Area 1 (battle 1) You just have to be sure to finish this battle with the attack they tell you to, "Shinning Sword Attack", but apart from that this turns out being a really easy battle where you just need to be specially careful with his combos. If you have trouble in getting enough time to recharge your ki up to the point when you can use the attack you are told to, then be sure to use "Full Power" and you will get it instantly. -----> Area 2 (battle 2) Here, you should just use the general strategy for survival battles. -----> Area 3 (battle 3) Same here, but you should be specially prepared for the physical combos, as they seem to damage you a lot. -----> Area 4 (battle 4) An easy battle. However, be sure not to forget to end this battle with a "Big Bang Attack". -----> Area 5 (battle 5) Since here you simply have to defeat your foe, it won't be very hard. "Special Beam Cannon" is more than enough, and with its help you will probably win this easily. -----> Area 6 (battle 6) The usual survival mission, and therefore you obviously should use your own strategy for it. -----> Area 7 (battle 7) Mainly you should go for physical combos, but "Special Beam Cannon" will also be of great help in order to win. At the end you will be getting a new "Absorption" potara. -----> Area 8 (battle 8) Vegeta will basically go for physical combos, so your target here is getting away from him and using ki attacks. Then, run away and use them once again, keep doing this and eventually you will win the battle, action which will grant you a "Super Saiyan Trunks" potara. -----> Area 9 (battle 9) Apart from having to finish the battle with "Hellzone Grenade", this is really easy, and I don't think you will have any trouble in beating it. -----> Area 10 (battle 10) The character you will be controlling in here is even strong against physical attacks, turning this into a battle than your younger brother, who has no experience with the game, would be able to win. At the end, you get another "Android #17" item. -----> Area 11 (battle 11) Go mainly for Ki attacks, since your physical combos don't seem to take away much of his life. So, just run away, recharging your Ki when possible, and then attack him when some of your attacks, but as usual you shouldn't forget to use "Neo Tri-Beam" to finish this battle, or else you will be taking a fox home (inside joke...). However, when you finally win you can get a "Super Saiyan" potara. -----> Area 12 (battle 12) Easy battle, I don't even think you will need help with it. -----> Area 13 (battle 13) This will also be an easy one, both your physical attacks and ki ones can deal good damage to Cell, so just for them and you will win in no time. -----> Area 14 (battle 14) Despite being given a specific instruction for this battle, just ignore it and attack Trunks as much as possible, you will also win easily. -----> Area 15 (battle 15) Unlike what happened in the series here you will have to beat this battle by using "Final Flash" at its end, and that may prove to be sometimes harder than you could be expecting. Go mainly for ki attacks, but sometimes run far away to get more ki. At the end you will get an "Absorption" purple potara. -----> Area 16 (battle 16) Your character here will be really strong against physical attacks, but still you should use the usual strategy for this type of battles. At the end, you will get a "Cell Perfect Form" potara. -----> Area 17 (battle 17) "Defeat your opponent with all your MIGHT"?! Strangely this battle is really easy, and keep on using your ki attacks until you defeat him, which won't take very long. -----> Area 18 (battle 18) Quite easy, but don't forget to use "Instant Transmission Kamehameha" in order to win it! -----> Area 19 (battle 19) Another easy battle. Despite your character not being very strong, you should use all his ki attacks to damage Cell, while trying to avoid his ki attacks, but fortunatly it is an easy task! -----> Area 20 (battle 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26) Your foes in this area will be REALLY easy, except for their ki attacks, so you should just block those and then advance for physical combos or ki attacks. -----> Area 21 (battle 27) Did you just read the strategy for the previous battle? Now, do the same in here! -----> Area 22 (battle 28) Advance not only for physical combos but be sure to use "Super Kamehameha" at the end. Apart from that, both physical combos and ki attacks work good, at least most of the times... -----> Area 23 (battle 29) Here, just use the general strategy for survival battles, but be specially careful with his "Death Beam", since it causes a huge ammount of damage. -----> Area 24 (battle 30) Being the final battle in this story, this would surely be hard. You have to finish the battle by using a "Super Kamehameha", and you can possibly use "Power up to the Very Limit" to reach a chance of using that attack instantly. You can go for physical attacks, but most of the times Cell will block it, so you should possibly only go for small combos and ki attacks from far away. Yes, if you are a newbie you may take some time to finish this battle, but I am sure that eventually you will be able to suceed. 4.6~. Future Super Warrior battle 1 - SSJ Trunks (Fighting) vs Android 18 battle 2 - SSJ Trunks (Fighting) vs Android 17 battle 3 - SSJ Trunks (Fighting) vs 1st Form Cell battle 4 - SSJ Trunks (Fighting) vs SSJ4 Gogeta -----> Area 1 (battle 1) Easy battle, your "High Power Rush" and some physical combos will be more than enough to easily finish your opponent. -----> Area 2 (battle 2) Exactly the same as in the last battle. -----> Area 3 (battle 3) Slightly harder, mainly since you have to finish him by using a specific attack, which is "Finish Buster". Cell is in this battle slightly stronger physically than your previous opponents, so try defending from his combos and the counter with your own type of attacks. You may use "Burning Attack" or "High Power Rush" for support, but when your foe is in his yellow health bar be sure to run away and recharge your ki until you reach full power, and then go for "Finish Buster" BUT only when you are near your enemy and almost sure that he doesn't have any chance of dodging it. -----> Area 4 (battle 4) As you may imagine, facing one of the strongest characters in the game won't be really easy, hum? This could turn out being a really hard battle if you hadn't thinked about a special strategy... do you remember that this stage allows ring outs? Well, as soon as the battle begins you should combo Gogeta until you are able to push him (with the lower right indicator on the red area, as usual), do that and be sure that your foe is outside of the ring area, or near it. Then, use "High Power Rush" and everything will possibly end, granting you an easy win! 4.7~. The Legendary Super Saiyan battle 1 - SSJ Goku vs Broly Broly is here to face Kakarot (coff Goku coff) and he will prove to be a worthy opponent. Fortunately you "just" have to defeat him, and since he is very resistant to physical damage you may have some trouble in following your usual strategy. Therefore, you should get away from him as soon as possible, recharge your ki and then launch your Super Kamehameha. Keep recharging your ki and using this strategy and eventually you will win without much effort. "Broly", "Z Item Fusion" and some other random items will be joining you after winning. 4.8~. Threat of the Galatic Warriors battle 1 - SSJ2 Teen Gohan vs Bojack Post-Transformation Bojack and Gohan Super Sayan 2 will be confronting in here, and since you will have to defeat him with your "Super Kamehameha" attack you may have some trouble. Like Broly, Bojack is also quite strong against physical attacks, so you'd better stay away from him and spam Masenko attacks against him. When he is almost dying, be sure to have 3 full blue balls and use your "Power up to the Very Limit attack". Then, quicklyt go near your foe and use your Super Kamehameha to kill him. Then you will get a "Galactic Warriors", "Z Item Fusion" and more random items. 4.9~. Majin Buu Saga battle 1 - SSJ Goten vs SSJ Adult Gohan battle 2 - SSJ Kid Trunks vs SSJ Super Vegeta battle 3 - Kid Trunks vs Goten battle 4 - Kid Trunks vs Hercule battle 5 - Hercule vs Android 18 battle 6 - SSJ2 Adult Gohan vs Dabura battle 7 - SSJ2 Goku vs Majin Vegeta battle 8 - SSJ2 Adult Gohan vs Majin Buu (Good) battle 9 - Majin Vegeta vs Majin Buu (Good) battle 10 - SSJ3 Goku vs Majin Buu (Good) battle 11 - Majin Buu (Good) vs Majin Buu (Pure Evil) battle 12 - SSJ Gotenks vs Super Buu battle 13 - SSJ3 Gotenks vs Super Buu battle 14 - Ultimate Gohan vs Super Buu battle 15 - Ultimate Gohan vs Super Buu (Gotenks Absorbed) battle 16 - SSJ Vegito vs Super Buu (Gohan Absorbed) battle 17 - SSJ3 Goku vs Kid Buu battle 18 - SSJ2 Vegeta vs Kid Buu battle 19 - Hercule Vs Kid Buu battle 20 - Majin Buu (Good) vs Kid Buu battle 21 - Goku vs Kid Buu -----> Area 1 (battle 1) You only have to defeat Gohan, turning this into a battle that you probably won't have many trouble with. You should mainly go for long physical combos and and "High Speed Rush", but be sure to try avoiding the many ki attacks that your foe may perform. -----> Area 2 (battle 2) An easy survival battle, where everything you have to do is just use the usual strategy. At the end you get a "Z Item Fusion" and some other unimportant items. -----> Area 3 (battle 3) Easy battle, just use physical combos on your opponent until you get the chance to push him outside of the arena zone and then use any ki attack, he will fall and you will "Win By Ringout", as you were supposed to, granting you a "Super Saiyan" purple potara. -----> Area 4 (battle 4) Use the same strategy as in the battle before, and at the end you will be granted a "Gohan" potara. -----> Area 5 (battle 5) This time you will have to spam as many ki attacks as you can (just use the cheaper ones, doesn't matter which ones you are using) and keep on using them, eventually you will be able to throw your foe out of the arena. Also, you shouldn't use physical attacks, since those seem not to work very well. Then, at the end, get a "Transforming Hero Set". -----> Area 6 (battle 6) Go for physical combos and "Masenko" ki attack and I bet you won't have much trouble with this battle. -----> Area 7 (battle 7) An epic, yet easy, battle. Go for "High Power Rush" and physical combos and you will have it finished in no time, receiving "Super Saiyan Vegeta 2" at the end. -----> Area 8 (battle 8) A usual survival battle, use the normal strategies and everything will go just fine, granting you a "Super Saiyan 2 Gohan" potara at the end. -----> Area 9 (battle 9) "Final Explosion" is the attack you must use in order to finish this battle, and since it takes almost all health from your character you must be really careful when using it. Use "Big Bang Attack" to decrease the health bar of your foe and, when he is in his yellow life bar, run away. Then, recharge your ki up to its proper point and go for "Final Explosion", which will kill him. Then, you get a "Babidi" potara. -----> Area 10 (battle 10) Go for physical combos, as they damage your foe a lot. Then, when he is in his yellow life bar, you should (as usual) run away for a bit and recharge your ki until you are in the blue bar. Use "Super Kamehameha" and hopefully you will win the battle. -----> Area 11 (battle 11) Since you just have to survive in order to get a "Wicked Person's Bullet" and "Elder Supreme Kai" potaras, be sure to use the usual strategy and everything will go just fine. -----> Area 12 (battle 12) "Galactic Donuts" it is the attack you have to perform this time, so you should just go for physical attacks and, when your foe is in his yellow bar, go ONLY for instances of the attack specified above. At the end you will get a "Super Saiyan Gotenks" potara. -----> Area 13 (battle 13) This is an easy battle, you just have to finish the battle by using "Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball", which is your most powerful attack. Attack him as much as you want, and when your foe is in its yellow life bar you can just fly away and try to go for your most powerful attack, which will deal a good ammount of damage and PROBABLY kill him. Then, you will win a "Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks" potara. -----> Area 14 (battle 14) The gotta be joking, once again you are asked to finish a battle with an attack, which is "Burst Rush". Use the usual strategy (c'mon, I am already fed up of typing the exact same thing lots and lots of times!), go for physical combos and be sure to use the specified attack at the end. All this will grant you an "Absorption". -----> Area 15 (battle 15) You have to survive, go for the usual strategy and hopefully you won't have much trouble with it. At the end you get a "Ultimate Gohan" potara. -----> Area 16 (battle 16) Blablabla (I feel bored...), you should finish the battle wth "Beam Sword Slash". It is not very hard provided that you are playing with one of the strongest characters in the game, so just go for physical combos and, when your opponent is in his yellow bar, go for the attack I told you before. Be sure to use it ONLY when he is nearby you, or you may miss the strike. At the end you get a "Vegito" potara. -----> Area 17 (battle 17) HERE you will start the section of the game which most people think to be the hardest one. Basically you will have to survive in 4 battles against Kid Buu, being this first one the easier one. You should start by going for small combo attacks and push your foe away as soon as you get the chance for it. If then he performs a ki attack, you should just teleport or quickly move to one of the sides (depends on what you do best and it is surely just a matter of preference) in order to avoid it, as they heavily damage you. Keep doing this, pushing your foe away (and also running away, with the help of the rush key) when possible and trying to avoid every possible ki attack he throws at you. -----> Area 18 (battle 18) Another survival battle, this time it will be 120 seconds with Vegeta. It is slightly harder, but you should mainly go for an adapted strategy. Try to push him away as you did with Goku but keep moving at all times, and be EVEN more careful with Kid Buu's ki attacks. Defend from physical combos and be even more careful when he breaks your guard, since he will then be able to cause you a lot of damage without you being able to do anything at all. It will surely seem to be very hard, but keep following my strategy and running away and eventually you will do it. -----> Area 19 (battle 19) With Hercule, you will have to survive for 60 seconds, but it turns out being an easy battle when you know what to do. Try to stick away from Kid Buu and recharge ki whenever possible. When he is going nearby you, use "Present Bomb" (it uses less ki than his other attacks) and run away once again. Keep on repeating this and eventually you will win the battle. -----> Area 20 (battle 20) Final survival battle and perhaps one of the most difficult ones. Block physical combos and keep on running away. If he reaches you, avoid the combos and counter with ones of your own, pushing your foe away in the end. If you seem him coming in your direction from far away, use a ki attack (for example, his "Flame Shower Breath") and then run away some more. At the end, you get a "Majin Buu "(Good)" potara. -----> Area 21 (battle 21) You have to finish this battle with "Spirit Bomb", but strangely it is an easy one. Defend from all the physical damage and counter with your own combos, launching as many Kamehameha attacks as possible. When your foe has his life in the yellow area, go away and start going for "Spirit Bomb", unleashing it ONLY when you are 99,9% (well, there is always a 0,01% chance that it will...) sure that it won't fail. 4.10~. The Evil Monster Janemba battle 1 - SSJ Gogeta vs Janemba Here you will just have to face a single battle, from Gogeta Super Sayan against Janemba (not the fat one, we wish! >_>). Basically all you are asked is to finish him with "Stardust Breaker", so start by attacking him with everything you've got and when he reaches his yellow life bar, run away from him and reacharge energy until you can launch the attack said above. After winning, collect "People's Maliciousness" and some random Z-items... 4.11~. The Revenge of Baby battle 1 - SSJ4 Goku vs Baby Vegeta Here you will face a battle from Dragon Ball GT, Goku Super Sayan 4 against Vegeta Baby. He is not very strong, and since you just have to defeat him (you aren't told to use a specific move to kill him or anything) attack him as much as possible physically, but careful since he seems to block a lot of physical attacks, plus his Final Flash is quite powerful. After winning, get "SS4 Goku's Fusion", "SS4 Vegeta's Fusion" and another random potara. 4.12~. The Ultimate Android battle 1 - SSJ4 Goku vs Super 17 Here you will face your second (and last) battle from Dragon Ball GT, Goku Super Sayan 4 against Super 17. He is slightly strong, and since you have to beat him with Goku's "10x Kamehameha" you may be into trouble. He seems to start the battle by instantly using one of his ki attacks (be careful with his "Hell's Storm" attack, since it doesn't damage a lot but may produce up to 50 hits), so be prepared for that. As for that battle itself, there's something you can try, and by doing so you will probably have more changes of using your final attack: start by attacking him as you usually do, and when he is almost dying (when he has around half of his yellow life bar) push him away as far as possible. Then, quickly charge your ki until you have the energy to launch Goku's "10x Kamehameha", and when he is getting nearby you use it. He probably died and you won this battle! :) After winning, collect the random capsules... 4.13~. The Revenge of the Sayans battle 1 - Vegeta (Scouter) vs Zarbon battle 2 - Vegeta (Scouter) vs Dodoria battle 3 - Vegeta (Scouter) vs Zarbon Post-Transformation battle 4 - Raditz vs 1st Form Frieza battle 5 - Saibaman vs 1st Form Frieza battle 6 - Nappa vs 1st Form Frieza battle 7 - Bardock vs 1st Form Frieza battle 8 - Vegeta (Scouter) vs 1st Form Frieza -----> Area 1 (battle 1) This is way harder than the same (well, almost the same) battle you have to face in the "Frieza Saga", since you will be playing with a weaker Vegeta. Your physical combos don't provide the needed ammount of damage to defeat your foe, so your best bet is surely sticking away from him and go for "Galick Gun" as many times as possible, but in case of need you can use your expensive ability "Full Power" to instantly be able to use "Super Explosive Wave", which is fairly good at short range. Keep staying away from your foe, using the ki attacks specified above and eventually you won't be in much trouble. -----> Area 2 (battle 2) Same as before, but this time your foe is slightly weaker. -----> Area 3 (battle 3) Use the same strategy as in the first battle, but now you should also be careful with your foe's physical attacks, as they became stronger. -----> Area 4 (battle 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) Here you have to defeat Frieza by using lots of different Sayans (defeat him with Vegeta in order to get a "Tuffles" purple potara) and even by using a Saibamen... However, your strategy should be exactly the same in the 5 battles, with your sticking away from him and try to attack with your best ki attacks as many times as possible, while dodging the powerful "Death Beam" that he can use against you. 4.14~. The Cosmic Emperor battle 1 - Final Form Frieza vs Vegeta battle 2 - Final Form Frieza vs Goku battle 3 - Final Form Frieza vs Krillin battle 4 - Final Form Frieza vs SSJ Goku battle 5 - Final Form Frieza vs Cooler Final Form -----> Area 1 (battle 1) Really easy battle, "Death Beam" and physical attacks will do the trick. Also, at the end you get the potara "Frieza Final Form". -----> Area 2 (battle 2) Easy battle, do exactly the same as before. -----> Area 3 (battle 3) Do exactly the same, this one is even easier than the other battles before it! -----> Area 4 (battle 4) Here you just have to finish your foe by using a "Death Ball", so be sure to do so when SSJ Goku is on his yellow health bar. You can use your "Full Power" powerup to reach the status where you can launch it easily, so be sure to do so when possible! You get another"Super Saiyan" potara at the end... -----> Area 5 (battle 5) It may be hard to damage your enemy in this battle by going for it with physical combos, so try staying away from him and using "Death Beam" as many times as possible, going for "Full Power" and a possible "Death Ball" if you feel like you need it. At the end you get "Frieza Final Form - Full Power", which is also another interesting potara. 4.15~. The True Ultimate Android battle 1 - Perfect Cell vs SSJ Super Trunks battle 2 - Perfect Cell vs SSJ Super Vegeta battle 3 - Perfect Cell vs SSJ2 Goku battle 4 - Perfect Cell Perfect Form vs SSJ2 Teen Gohan battle 5 - Perfect Cell Perfect Form vs Super 17 -----> Area 1 (battle 1) Your ONLY problem with this battle is that your opponent is really strong against physical attacks, so you should NEVER try to use that type of strategy against him. As soon as the battle starts, go inside the water and recharge your ki. Then, start launching your ki attacks from there, eventually decreasing his health. If he approaches you, be sure to run away and continue this same strategy until you win. You can also for "Perfect Barrier", but I must remember you that such attack is only effective at short range. -----> Area 2 (battle 2) Here you should also go for physical attacks, apart from using ki attacks when you feel like it. The battle won't be very hard, I think you can do it easily. -----> Area 3 (battle 3) Do the same as in the last battle, but try to block as many of Goku's combos as possible, and counter with "Super Kamehameha" or "Perfect Barrier", if you have the chance to use this last one. At the end you will get "Super Sayan Goku", which is always nice! -----> Area 4 (battle 4) As your new Cell form you will be a lot more powerful, but you can still use the strategy for the last battle, using "Spirit Bomb" to finish the battle (it is the stipulation!), or else you will have to take a lose home. At the end, you get a "Super Transformation". -----> Area 5 (battle 5) Weaker players may have some trouble in this battle, but I will try guiding you. Don't go for large combos against him, since most of the times he can stop them easily, so you should only go for small combos AND usually get away from him and use ki attacks, but if you want to use "Spirit Bomb" be sure to do it ONLY when he is near you, or else you will fail in damaging him. You should also try to block all his ki attacks, since "Hell's Storm" is really annoying and may even cause you a lot of damage. 4.16~. The Destructive Majin battle 1 - Majin Buu (Good) vs SSJ2 Vegeta battle 2 - Majin Buu (Good) vs SSJ3 Goku battle 3 - Super Buu vs SSJ3 Gotenks battle 4 - Super Buu vs SSJ Vegito battle 5 - Majin Buu (Good) vs Janemba -----> Area 1 (battle 1) Easy, yet long, battle. Your foe isn't very powerful, but neither are you. You should basically go for physical combos and ki attacks when possible, but be aware that this may turn into a long battle! -----> Area 2 (battle 2) Another easy battle, you should use the same strategy from the battle before but be aware that this form of Goku is more effective in physical combos, which tells you that you may have to try avoiding them at all costs and then countering with your own set of combos. At the end you will receive an important "Super Saiyan" potara and some other random ones. -----> Area 3 (battle 3) Once you master the last battle you will have an easy time with this one, since your strategy should be exactly the same BUT you should NEVER use "Extermination of Mankind Homing Blasts", since that particular attack doesn't cause much damage and your foe can easily avoid (and stop) that attack. -----> Area 4 (battle 4) Apart from having to face a legendary character, this battle could have been way easier if you didn't have a special stipulation, meaning you will have to finish the battle by using your Super Buu's "Revenge Death Bomber", a move which even depletes your own health. Therefore, proceed as in the last battles (now using "Extermination of Mankind Homing Blasts" if your foe in inside the water and he is far from you) and, when he reaches the yellow health bars try to go away as much as possible and go for your Super Finishing Move. When you are finally able to use it (blue bar on, as you may already know by now), go near your foe and do so. If you killed him, good, or else you will be in BIG trouble. Oh, and I forgot to tell you, his physical attacks are REALLY powerful, so be sure to try blocking them as many times as possible! -----> Area 5 (battle 5) You should be specially careful of Janemba's ki attacks, but apart from that the best strategy is surely striking at short range and with long physical combos. At the end, "Psyche Ogre" awaits you. 4.17~. The Plan to Conquer Earth battle 1 - Bojack Post-Transformation vs Ultimate Gohan battle 2 - Broly vs SSJ2 Vegeta battle 3 - Mecha Frieza vs SSJ3 Goku battle 4 - Cooler Final Form vs SSJ Gogeta battle 5 - Baby Vegeta vs SSJ4 Gogeta battle 6 - Super 17 vs SSJ4 Gogeta -----> Area 1 (battle 1) A "Seal Release" purple potara is obtained by completing this really easy battle, in which physical attacks and some ki attacks from you can easily defeat Gohan. -----> Area 2 (battle 2) Just like Bojack, Broly is also quite strong and physical attacks, and that will turn this into another easy battle. Just do the exact same thing as in the previous battle and you will win. -----> Area 3 (battle 3) Here you should be specially aware of Goku's physical combos, since they cause a lot of damage and take a long time to end. When he is going to perform them, be sure to block them and then counter with your own set of long combos. Also, you should go for some of your ki attacks, as they deal a good ammount of damage. At the end you will get a "Reconstruction Surgery" purple potara. -----> Area 4 (battle 4) Here, you should mainly apply the strategy used in the previous battle, but be even more aware of all of your foe's moves, as all his attacks, both physical and ki ones, are really damaging. Therefore, try staying away and attacking with your own ki attacks, in order to deal a fair ammount of damage without putting yourself in danger. -----> Area 5 (battle 5 and 6) For both characters the strategy is almost the same, but since Super 17 can't recharge ki, you must be careful with him. For bother guys you should try to block as many attacks as possible, and once Gogeta finishes one of his combos you should then counter him with your own set of combos, eventually getting more ki to launch a strong final attack at the end. After these 2 battles you will get "Artificial Bruits Waves" and "Vegeta's Fusion" purple potaras, which you will probably enjoy. 4.18~. True world Tournament battle 1 - Tien vs Chiaotzu battle 2 - Kid Goku vs Krillin battle 3 - Chiaotzu vs Tao Pai Pai battle 4 - Tien vs Tao Pai Pai battle 5 - Krillin vs Master Roshi battle 6 - Master Roshi vs Kid Goku battle 7 - Tao Pai Pai vs Kid Goku battle 8 - Piccolo vs Kid Goku -----> Area 1 (battle 1) Combo your opponent until you get the lower-right bar on the red section, and then throw him away. He will be probably near the end of the area (or even outside it) and then you should use a ki attack, he will fall down and you will win. However, be sure to remember than in this story mode you have to win all the battles by ring-out, ok? -----> Area 2 (battle 2) Same as before. -----> Area 3 (battle 3 and 4) Same as before. -----> Area 4 (battle 5) Same as before. -----> Area 5 (battle 6) Same as before. -----> Area 6 (battle 7) Same as before. -----> Area 7 (battle 8) Same as before, and yeah, I just copied and pasted this 5 times! Well, these battles are easy, you just need to follow the strategy I gave you on the first one and, in case it fails, continue repeating it until you get the desired result. 5~. Characters' Moves Here, I will try not only to include all the moves of each character but also everything about them, like special abilities that they may have and things like those. Well, finally finished typing this, it took me more than 6 consecutive hours, I just hope I didn't forgot anyone! >_<''''' 6~. Frequently Asked Questions Q: Is this game Dragon Ball Z Budokai 4? A: No. Unlike the 3 games from that saga, this one was developed by a new company called "Spike" (the 3 DBZ Budokai Games were made by "Dimps"). However, Atari chose to release this game in Europe and America with the "Budokai" particle in the title, so that it further appeals to the fans of that series. Apart from this small thing, the game has actually nothing to do with that series! Q: What should I get, this or Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3? A: They are completely different, and I have to say that the answer to this question is really up to you. Budokai 3 is more of a "street fighter"-like game with some moves taken from the series, but this one is a whole new experience, as you can travel everywhere you want in the scenario, completely destroy everything you see on your path and even use the scenario in your advantage. Q: How would you rate this game? A: I rated it 9/10 in my review, not giving it a perfect score just because of having the original music taken from the non-japanese versions. Q: Can we create our own character? A: No. However, you can personalize existing character's stats for use in some of the modes. Q: Can I see some videos of this game? A: Sure, just go to Gamespot (I can't provide the link, since I really dislike that website) and check the section for this game, they have more than 10 different gameplay videos in there, covering multiple aspects of the game. Q: Does this game feature any online play mode? A: No, not even a password option like what happened in Budokai 3. Q: Is Pikkon in the game? A: As far as I could understand, no. However, I am not still 100% sure. Q: How does the 2P mode work? A: The screen is split vertically, player 1 will be seen on the left and player 2 on the right. Some people might find this to be slightly confusing, but eventually you will get the hang of it. Q: How long does it take for someone to finish all the storylines? A: It depends both on your skill and on what difficulty level you will be playing, but a friend of mine tried it on the easiest one and could finish the game (without unlocking any extras) in less than 3 days. Q: What should I know about the music in this game? A: Well, in the japanese version of the game you could actually listen to the same music that could be heard in the series, but that has been taken out of both the european and american versions, mainly due to Atari not wanting to pay for the rights of the music too. Q: When you manage to capture all the 7 Dragon Balls, what wishes can you ask for? A: You can ask for Kid Goku (the one from the original series, not GT!), Master Roshi, Oozaru, Oozaru Vegeta, Tao Pai Pai, a new story for the Z Battle Gate and the ability to use passwords from Budokai 3. Q: What are the passwords from Budokai 3 used for in this game? A: You can use them to fight characters from Budokai 3, but they will be slightly "adapted" to fit this game. Also, you can't use passwords from people who are not in this game, like Uub or Omega Shenron. Q: What happens if you collect all the Dragon Balls AND you have already unlocked all possible things? A: The balls will stay in the menu forever, and you won't be able to find them in the battles anymore. Q: How do I unlock the last battle gate? A: Get the 7 Dragon Balls and wish for it. For more information about this, read the section of the faq concerning the Dragon Balls. Q: How do you get more potaras? A: After each battle, you are awarded with some. 6.1~. Dragon Ball These are easy to get, since you just have to collect a specific Dragon Ball in order to unlock it in this section. This includes: - 1 Star Dragon Ball (...) - 2 Star Dragon Ball (...) - 3 Star Dragon Ball (...) - 4 Star Dragon Ball (...) - 5 Star Dragon Ball (...) - 6 Star Dragon Ball (...) - 7 Star Dragon Ball (...) With the chinese name inside the "( )", but I doubt people care about that. So, how do you unlock these? Well, just go to a level in the Z Battle Mode where you know exactly where a Dragon Ball is (I suggest the one with Dende's floating palace, where you can just destroy the palace and you will see a dragon ball in there, and the battle Tien vs Chaotzu is the best one for this), then get it and complete the stage. Re-enter that stage, go to the same place and get the new Dragon Ball which is there. Repeat until you have the 7 of them. Easy, hum? :) Well, by collecting them you can wish for: - Great Ape - Great Ape (Vegeta) - Kid Goku - Master Roshi - Tao Pai Pai - The True World Tournament (a new storyline) - The ability to use password from Budokai 3 on the Vs.
