They are gigantic representations of the idols lining the walls of the Shrine of Worship. Bring- ing down one of the beasts is no easy task. First, you need to scope out their vital point. To do this, left the Ancient Sword into the sky, the colossus' vital point is where the light gathers. Now you need to find a way up to that point. Each colossus is unique, they each have different vital points and they each have different ways for you to defeat them. You need to find some way to get up to the vital point, one good thing to do is to view your surroundings, use them to your advantage. If something is there, it's there for a reason. Some colossi have more than one vital point, in this case you need to strike each of them until the creature is dead. You can't just simply concentrate on one, once you have dealt enough damage to one it will disappear, you will have to locate and move on to the next one. Use each of your weapons to your advantage, use your surroundings and you should be able to bring the colossus down. -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ - About white-tailed lizards and fruit trees -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ You can permanently raise your charge and health meters by collecting certain items. The charge meter can be raised by finding and killing a white-tailed lizard. When killed, its tail will fall off and will appear as a small glowing orb on the ground. Press circle to pick it up. White-tailed lizards are commonly found around save shrines. The fruit found in fruit trees increase the size of your health bar. These fruit trees can be found throughout the land. They appear as trees with moss growing on the side, and they can be climbed. Use your bow to shoot the fruits hanging from the trees. Once on the ground, you can collect them by pressing the circle button. -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ - Controls -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ On Foot Controls ------------------ O===================O========================================================O | Control | Function | O===================O========================================================O | L1 button | Zoom camera behind character's head. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | L2 button | Focus camera behind character. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R1 button | Crouch (regains health faster), Swim faster. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R2 button | Zoom camera behind character. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Left/Right D-Pad | Equip weapons. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Up D-Pad | Equip sword. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Down D-Pad | Unarm. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Triangle button | Jump, Mount Agro. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Circle button | While holding sword, hold to gather light. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | X button | Call Agro. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Square button | While holding sword, press to attack. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | L analog stick | Affects character movement. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R analog stick | Controls camera. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Start | View map. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R1 + Triangle | Perform a forward roll. | o-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------o Climbing Controls --------------------- O===================O========================================================O | Control | Function | O===================O========================================================O | L1 button | Focus camera behind character. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | L2 button | Focus camera behind character. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R1 button | Grab onto climbing surface, hold to grip. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R2 button | Zoom camera behind character. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Square button | Press to charge strength, press again to strike sword. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Left/Right D-Pad | Equip weapons. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Up D-Pad | Equip sword. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Down D-Pad | Unarm. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Triangle button | Jump (hold to jump higher/farther). | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | L analog stick | Affects climbing direction. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R analog stick | Controls camera. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R1 + Triangle | Hold R1 and Triangle, move L analog stick in direction | | | and release to jump. | o-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------o Horse Riding Controls ------------------------- O===================O========================================================O | Control | Function | O===================O========================================================O | L2 button | Focus camera behind character. | +-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R1 button | Duck. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | R2 button | Zoom camera behind character. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Triangle button | Jump off horse. | |-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------| | Square button | While holding sword, press to gather light. Press X to spur the horse, exit the shrine through the opening to the right. This leads outside, you can find the first Colossus in F-5, refer to the map. Once you reach the series of ledges, dismount Agro and begin to climb. Approach the vines to the right, jump with Triangle and press R1 to grab on. Ascend up the vines with the left analog stick and press Triangle to pull yourself up. Follow the path to the end, adjust the camera angle with the right analog stick, run and press Triangle to jump to the other side. Cross the small bridge and jump over the gap. Run towards the obstacle and press Triangle and R1 at the same time to roll under it. Jump up and grab hold of the ledge. Pull yourself to the upper level climb up the second ledge. Jump and grab hold of the small ledge and, while still holding R1, make your way around the ledge with the left analog stick. Hold R1 and Triangle, push the left analog stick in the direction that you want to jump. Do not let go of the R1 button, hold the Triangle button and then release. Once you have grabbed on to the opposite ledge, press Triangle to pull yourself up. As you move up the hill, you will meet your first Colossus! Naturally, this is your first battle so it isn't terribly hard. You can use your sword to locate the Colossus' vitals. His sensitive spot is his left heel. Run towards his left heel, press Triangle and hold R1 to grab on. Climb around his heel and hold square to charge your sword. Release once the strength meter is full. Stab him until a brief scene occurs that shows him stagger. Once he is incapacitated run and jump on his leg and start climbing. Jump up over the obstacle on the back of his leg and make your way to his back side. Move yourself around his side and jump up onto the small platform on his back. You should rest here before you continue climbing up, let your grip strength meter refill, then jump and grab onto his back and continue climbing. Climb up all the way to the top of his head where you can see a glowing symbol. Get a grip on the colossus' head, hold your sword over the symbol until the strength meter is full. Once it is full strike him and it will deal a large amount of damage. Continue this until the Colossus falls. Once he lays slain before you, you will be brought back to the Shrine of Worship. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | Defeating this colossus in hard mode is different. He now has an extra | | glowing symbol; located on the back of his right arm. To get to this one, | | stand on the platform attached to the colossus' back. From there, it | | should be quite obvious what to do. Run, jump and grab on to its furry | | arm. If you haven't already located the symbol with your sword's light, | | equip your sword and the symbol will appear. Strike the symbol as many | | times as needed to make it disappear. Once it is gone, repeat the process | | of stabbing the colossus' leg, climbing back up its body and striking the | | symbol on top of its head. Remember to take some time to recharge your | | grip meter, either stand on the platform on its back or on its shoulders. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Second Colossus - [1.2].................................................... =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... In the seaside cave... It moves slowly... Raise thy courage to defeat it..." The next colossus can be found in F-3, refer to the map to find this location. As you leave the shrine, you will receive a short tutorial from Dormin. From the shrine, head north-west, follow your sword's light and cross the bridge. Once you are over the bridge, move down the spiral trail down to the beach area. Follow your sword's light to the wall in this side of the canyon. The second colossus will break through this wall. The colossus walks on four legs, and bringing it down is simple. Stand in front of the colossus. Before you can get on top of it, you need to cripple it, since it has no visible tufts of fur that you can reach. Continue running in front of it, stand facing him and he will eventually stand on his hind legs and raise its front hooves at you. Notice the bottom of its hooves are glowing green, equip you bow and shoot the bottom of one of its hooves. It will fall to the ground and stagger, its leg will fall to the side. Run around its leg and grab on to the patch of fur. Climb up its furry arm, you can recharge your grip meter by standing on the small platform. Continue climbing up and find the vital point on its head. Climb sideways and jump up onto its back. Run across its back, if it shakes grip on to its fur. Once on the head, stand over the symbol, charge your strength and strike. You will only be able to hit the symbol about three times before it disappears. Now you need to find the creature's second vital point. Run across his back and travel to his backside. Climb onto his backside and strike the symbol here. Strike as many times as needed to bring the colossus down. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | In hard mode, this colossus has an extra vital point that you need to | | locate. It's easy enough to get to, it's located on the left side of it's | | body. When you have succeeded in crippling the beast, jump up onto the | | beast's leg and climb over its side. With your sword equipped, you will | | be able to find the symbol. Strike it as many times as needed for it to | | vanish. Make sure that you shoot its left hoof, so that you will be able | | to get on its left side easier. Now you need to strike its other vital | | points. Their locations are the same as they are in normal mode. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Third Colossus - [1.3]..................................................... =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... A giant canopy soars to the heavens... The anger of the sleeping giant shatters the earth..." This colossus can be found in E-2. From the shrine, cross the same bridge that you crossed to get to the colossus prior to this one. Don't move down the path, continue heading straight and follow your sword's light. Head down the trail between the mountains and eventually a brief scene will occur. Once you have reached this area, you will need to dismount Agro. Jump into the water and swim to the ramp leading up the large structure. Make your way up the curving ramp, once you reach its end, run and grab on to the stones ridges. Move around so that your back is to the opposite platform. Jump back in the direction of the platform and grab on. Pull yourself up and proceed to the end of the spiral, climb up the stairs or jump up onto the blocks. Approach the sleeping colossus and it will awaken. Its attacks are pretty basic, it stomps around and swings its gigantic sword at you. Its sword swing is what will allow you to get up on to the colossus so you can reach its vitals. However, the colossus is wearing protective armor on its arms, but it looks brittle. Search around the battle area for a circular stove-element looking thing. Stand on this, and when the giant swings its sword its arm armor will break, thus allowing you to climb up the full length of its arm. You have to make sure that the giant's sword hits directly on the circle, move a good ways away from him, let him catch up, run back to the circle and stand behind it. Jump out of the way as it is about to connect! Once you have successfully managed to break the giants armor, you task now is simple, make your way up to his head and strike his vital point. Again, use its sword strike against it. When its sword connects with the earth, run up its sword and grab on to the furry part of its arm. As with the last colossus that you fought, this one has two different vital points: One on its head and one on its stomach. I suggest going for the stomach first, while you are on the furry part of its arm, move yourself around its arm so that the character's back is to the giant's side. Hold R1 and Triangle, move the left analog stick in the direction of its mid-section and wait for an opportunity to jump. Once you see this opportunity, release Triangle and grab on to its mid-section. Crawl onto its stomach and strike the symbol a few times until it disappears. Now you can either attempt to get back to his arm from its mid-section or you can drop down and use the same method you used before to climb up its sword. Once you are back on his arm, climb up and around to its back. You can rest and recharge your grip meter on its neck or shoulders. When you are ready, climb up its neck and onto its head. Strike the symbol as many times as needed to bring down the colossus. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | This colossus has one extra vital point located behind the upper portion | | of its left arm. I suggest first going for the vital point on its stomach,| | then moving on to the one on its head and then finishing the beast off | | by striking the final vital point on its right arm. It isn't very hard | | to get to; climb up the colossus and stand on its shoulders. Notice that | | the armor on the colossus' right arm is broken. Make your way over the | | colossus and to the vital point. You may need to let your self drop in | | certain places, just make sure that the colossus is not shaking and that | | you grab on as soon as you fall. Strike the vital point as many times as | | needed to kill the colossus. Remember to take the time to rest, in hard | | mode, the colossi are harder to kill, meaning you will have to strike | | their vital points more before they disappear. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Fourth Colossus - [1.4].................................................... =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... In the land of the vast green fields... Rows of guiding graves... It is giant indeed but fearful, it is not." Colossus number four is located in G-5. From the shrine, head east, follow the sword's light to a mountain path. Follow this path to G-5, a large, forested area. Move down the narrow trail and down to the lower ground. Move along here and follow the sword's light until you reach the horse-like colossus. Now this is a really easy battle, this colossus only has one vital point, and it is easy to climb onto it. Head down from where you met this creature, dismount Agro. Look the hills, there are doorways in the sides of them. Move to the middle of them and wait for the colossus to reach you. Once the colossus is close to you, shoot him with arrows to get him angry. Jump off the top of one of the hills and run inside the opening. Run around this tunnel and go through the doorway opposite of the direction that he was facing when you went in to this tunnel. This colo- ssus isn't very bright, if you head out of a doorway, it will still be waiting for you to come out of the one you entered through. Once you have exited the tunnel, look at the colossus and make sure that it doesn't know where you are. If it is heading towards you, enter the tunnel and try again. If you know that he is oblivious to your position, just sit and watch him. As you see him bend over to peek inside the tunnel, it will lower its tail, run towards it, jump, grab on to the ridges on its tail, and climb up to his back. The only vital point on this creature is on its head, run across its back and make your way to its head. You need to get a good running start on its back and then run and jump on its head. It does shake its body in an attempt to knock you off, just grab on to its fur when it is shaking. When you have made it to its head, strike the symbol as many times as needed to bring the creature down. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | The fourth colossus has two new vital points to locate in hard mode. They | | are both located on its left and right front legs. Getting to them is | | simple: Proceed with the process of getting the colossus to allow you to | | climb up onto its back. Once on its back, take care of the symbol on its | | head. Then just move to one of the legs, the symbol is located just above | | the small platform on the colossus' front legs. Strike both of these | | symbols. Once the first one vanishes, move on to the next. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Fifth Colossus - [1.5]..................................................... =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... It casts a colossal shadow across a misty lake as it soars through the sky... To reach it is no easy task..." This colossus is located in H-4. Exit the shrine and head east, continue in this direction until you come to the path that led you to the colossus you fought prior to this one. Instead of following this path, move around the mountain and follow the trail. You can save at the shrine here if you choose to. Follow your sword's light through the path and into H-4. Dismount Agro and jump into the water. Swim to the structure in the middle of the water. Swim underneath the opening, swim towards the first structure you see and climb up its ridges. Cross the bridge and head up the stairs, a brief scene will occur, showing the fifth colossus. This colossus can fly, it resembles so kind of bird. It won't attack you unless you anger it. Jump down through the hole and swim towards the square platforms in the water ahead of you. Stand on the middle one, equip your bow and fire at the perched colossus. The colossus will take flight, and it is angry now. What you need to do is, when it is swooping towards you, you need to jump towards it and grab on to its fur. Its swoop attack deals a heavy amount of damage, if you miss the chance to jump on it, wait on the platform until it flies around again. You can hold L1 to follow the colossus, so you know where it is and you will be ready for it. Shoot some more arrows as it flies by to get it angrier, once you have managed to grab on to the creature, hang on for dear life! Climb your way to its body, when it straightens out run across to its backside. There are three vital points, one on the very end of its tail and one on each of its wings. Go for the tail first, alternate between running and hanging on according to the colossus' movement. Strike the symbol with charged strength as many times as it takes to make it disappear. Now make your way back to the colossus' mid-section. Grip right behind the creature's spine, you need to wait for it to straighten out its wings before you can cross its wing-span to reach the vital point. When its wing looks relatively straight, run across it and grab on to the furry patch. Strike the symbol here and then make your way back to the creature's mid-section. Use the same method as above to strike the creat- ure's final symbol. Once you have succeeded, the colossus will fall to the waters. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | This colossus has the exact same amount of vital points as in normal | | mode. One on the end of its tail and one on the end of each of its wings. | | Just use the same process that you used to get grab onto the colossus in | | normal mode. The difference here is that you will need to strike the wing | | vital points an extra time, since the colossi take longer to kill in hard | | mode. Because of this, you will probably loose your grip on its wings and | | you will need to get back on the colossus. Start with its tail end vital | | point and then move on to each of its wings. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Sixth Colossus - [1.6]..................................................... =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... A giant lurks underneath the temple... It lusts for destruction... But a fool, it is not." The sixth colossus can be found in D-6. Head north-west from the shrine, follow the light from the sword and proceed into the forested area. There is a shrine in this forest, pray at it. There is also a white-tailed lizard running around the shrine. Kill it and pick up the glowing tail that it leaves behind, this causes your grip meter to increase. Find the path out of the forest that leads to E-4. Follow the tunnel until you appear in a large open area. There is ano- ther shrine here in the distance, you can save your game if you'd like. There is also another white-tailed lizard in this area. Head back into the forest, look for the exit that leads to D-5. Follow the path and you will eventually come to a large desert area. At this point simply follow the sword's light to the temple, jump down the opening and head down the steps. Follow the path, jump over the obstacles in your way and then head down another set of stairs. A brief scene will occur, now you need to get to the lower level. Drop down from the opening in the railing and while you are falling, direct yourself towards the wall and hold R1 to grab on. Let yourself fall again, grab on to another portion of the wall, fall again until you are at a safe distance that you can reach the ground from. As soon as you reach the bottom, the colossus will be revealed. Run in front of the colossus and climb over the series of walls. Approach the wall, climb up onto one of the small, circular platforms and then climb over the top. You have to do this quickly, the colossus will catch up and smash the wall. When you have made it over the last wall, run and take cover behind the pillared walk- way. Now just sit tight and wait for the colossus to catch up. Hold R1 to crouch behind one of the pillars. The colossus will lower its head and look for you, now's your chance! Run from behind the pillar, jump and grab onto the colossus' hanging beard. Climb up the beard's length, cross over to the side of its head and climb up onto its back. You can rest here to recharge your grip meter, just make sure to hold on if he starts shaking. Climb on top of the giants head and strike its vital point. It can be kind of hard to get a sucess- ful charged strike because the colossus frequently shakes its head around in an attempt to knock you off. Keep on trying and strike the symbol as many times as needed to make it disappear. Its last vital point is located on its lower back, climb down its fur and strike the symbol as many times as needed to bring the beast down. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | This colossus has an extra vital point, located on the back of its left | | hand. Getting to this vital point is simple enough. First, take out the | | vital points on the creature's head and lower back. Once you have removed | | those, get off of the colossus and head under the platform that you used | | to hide under. When the colossus lowers his head to peek under the plat- | | form, run out from behind the pillar and head for its left hand. It has | | lowered both of its hands to the ground, as you approach, the colossus | | will straighten out its fingers. Run, jump onto its fingers and grab onto | | the fur on the back of its hand. The colossus tends to shake its hand | | frequently, you may need to do this a couple of times before you manage | | to remove the vital point completely. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Seventh Colossus - [1.7]................................................... =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... A ruin hidden in the lake... A ripple of thunder lurks underwater..." This colossus is found in D-1. This is going to be a long journey, for the first part. Do not follow the sword! Leave the shrine, head east from the entrance and then run up north, cross the bridge here. Pass under the large bridge leading to the shrine. There is a small shrine located near here where you can save your game. You can follow the sword now, continue riding through the sandy area, wrap around the mountains in E-1 and move into D-1. Once in D-1, continue following the sword until you reach a wall, search along the wall until you find a door. Proceed through the opening and a brief scene will occur. Cross the bridge, dismount Agro at the end and climb down the spiral to- wer. When you jump in the water, the colossus will become aware of your presence. This colossus resembles an eel, its fins sticking out of its back are electric and they will shock you if you touch them. When the colossus rises out of the water, its fins give off an electric discharge. If you are in range of this discharge, you will take a large amount of damage. First, you need to grab on to the eel somehow. This is simple, swim over its head to get its attention, when you hear it growl, start moving towards its tail. Its head will begin to rise and the rest of its body will follow. Avoid its electric fins and hover over its submerged tail. At the end it will bring its tail up, hold R1 to grab on to the tail's furry part. You can swim underwater much faster, hold R1 and rapidly press the X button. While you are underwater, the grip meter changes to the breath meter. Once you have managed to grab on to the colossus' tail, hang in there! The creature will dip back underwater, just keep holding on. When the top portion of its body rises above water and its body straightens out, begin running across its body. Be ready to grip back on, the creature frequently dives back under the water. Now for its fins, you need to do this next step quickly. Its fins can be disabled, run behind one of the fins and strike the glowing blue mark. The fin will turn black, it is disabled. Wait for the creature to dip back underwater and then move on to the next fin. You need to be cautious, study the fin's range, when it dips in and out of the water, its fin shoots off electricity. You do not want to get caught in that, so you need to move between them very cautiously. Make sure that you give yourself enough time to disable the fin, if you feel that you do not have enough time, move away and allow it to dip back underwater, then continue with your task. If the colossus goes to deep in the water and you can't hold on, you will need to use the same method as before to get on it. Once you have successfully dis- abled all of the creature's fins, proceed to the creatures head. The crea- ture's one and only vital point symbol is located on its head, strike this as many times as needed to kill the colossus. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | I didn't notice any differences between normal and hard mode in this | | colossus' battle. It still has only one glowing symbol; the | | the one on its head. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Eighth Colossus - [1.8].................................................... =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... A tail trapped within a pail deep within the forest... A shadow that crawls on the walls." The eighth colossus can be found in G-6. Exit the shrine and head south, move east and travel through the trail between the mountains. You will come to a area with a waterfall. Follow the narrow path to your right, for some reason Agro walks across this path very slowly. Just jump off, walk on foot, and then call Agro over to you. When you reach the water, you will need to dismount Agro, cross the water and head towards the structure in the distance. Enter the temple, head down the steps and climb up the brown pillar you come to. Once you reach the top ridge, climb around the circular ridge and jump across to the platform behind your character. Move through the path, jump down the opening, climb down the stairs and enter the next area. A short scene will occur, showing you the next colossus. This isn't a terribly hard battle, you just need to be careful. This colossus, unlike the others, has a projectile attack. This is very deadly, the colossus shoots a bunch of yellow powder. While you are in its range it continuously zaps your health at a high rate. Move down the sets of stairs until you reach the battleground. The creature's vital point is on its stomach, the body is to armored for you to deal any real damage. You have probably noticed its glowing legs... Climb up to the second level in the set of stairs that you were climbing down. The creature will crawl on the wall in an attempt to find you. You have two options, the first is to run around and find him, shoot his exposed stomach through the window. Second, quickly run outside, shoot two of his legs and he will fall down. I prefer the second way, because it gives you more time to strike his exposed stomach. Run outside, shoot two of its legs and it will fall down to the ground on its back. At this point, run and jump up his tail, strike the symbol on his underside. This colossus has two vital points: One on its upper under-body and one on its lower under-body You will probably need to shoot it off the wall at least twice in order to finish it off. If it isn't crawling on the wall, shoot at him to get its atten- tion. Be careful while you are on the wall, the colossus can still blast you with its projectile attack. Strike the colossus' vital points as many times as needed to defeat it. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | This is where the difficulty between normal and hard becomes noticeable. | | While this colossus still has two vital points, it takes a LOT longer to | | kill You will have to strike each of the symbols quite a few times before | | the colossus will die. The land where trees nary grow... It sleeps in a dry lake bed... A rude awakening." The ninth colossus can be found in D-3. From the shrine entrance, head to the west and cross the bridge. Look in the distance to see a large cloud of black smoke. Head towards the black cloud, move down to lower ground and follow your sword's light as far as you can. Once you reach the lake bed, move along the canyon until you find a bridge to the west. Cross the bridge and follow your sword's light whenever you can. Look for a large cave, attempt to enter the cave and the colossus will reveal itself. It should be painfully obvious what to do, since by simply traversing this area you surely noticed the geysers. This colossus also has a projectile attack, this is very deadly and difficult to avoid on foot. Stay on Agro as long as possible, run towards one of the geysers and stand so that you and the colossus are standing on opposite directions of it. To avoid the colossus' projectiles, when you see it getting ready to fire, run off with Agro. If you are hit with the projectile, you will be knocked off of the horse and will lose a large chunk of health. When the colossus is close, it may rise on its hind legs and come crashing down on you, avoid this attack. When he comes down the geyser may not be on. Stay around the colossus until the geyser goes off. When the geyser goes off, the rush of water will hit the colossus under-body causing it to stagger. Look at its feet, notice that the leg armor plate has shifted, revealing the glowing green weak point. Shoot its two right/left legs. Shoot whichever set of legs that doesn't have the front leg in the air. This will cause the colossus to fall down and roll over. Quickly run around the downed colossus and climb up its shell, onto its furry stomach. Climb up the fur and then the ridges on the edges of its shell. When you have made it to the top, grip onto something because the colossus will be getting back to its feet. Drop to the lower part of its shell, run around and run up its spine. This colossus only has one vital point and that is one his head. Run up the spine and onto his head, while holding your sword the vital point will become visible. Strike this spot as many times as needed to slay the colossus. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | As with the seventh colossus battle, I failed to notice any real differen-| | ces between the normal and hard mode of this colossus battle. Just make sure | | that you take the time to let your grip meter recharge. If it is getting | | low while you are holding on to its head, move back to its spine to | | recharge. An isolated sand dune... Its tracks are well hidden... Shaking the earth, its gaze is upon thee..." This tenth colossus can be found in B-4. This is another long journey, exit the shrine and head north-west. Cross over the same bridge you needed to cross over in order to reach the colossus prior to this one. Now just continue heading west while following the sword's light. When you come to B-4, there is a shrine before the entrance to the cave. Save your game here and then proceed into the cave. Follow the long, curving tunnel until you reach the large, wide open cave. Run to the middle of this area and the colossus will reveal itself. This colossus isn't too difficult, but you do need fairly competent with a bow and riding a horse. This colossus is a giant sand worm, note its giant eyes. Its primary attack is ramming into you, this causes a huge amount of damage. To avoid this devastating attack, you can stand on one of the rocky parts of the pillars. To be able to reach the creature's vital point, you need to shoot it in the eye. This is done entirely by horseback, mount Agro and get a good running after the colossus. Agro is really fast, and he can easily outrun the colossus. Get a good running speed in front of the colossus and then use your bow to shoot one of its eyes. Shoot as many arrows as necessary until you conn- ect with an eye. The area is large and wide open, so Agro has a long runway, allowing you to let the horse run by itself while you shoot the colossus. You can hold L1 to lock on to the colossus so you know where it is. When you have managed to hit one of its eyes, the creature will be temporarily blinded, it will crash into the cave wall or a pillar. At this point, dismount Agro and climb up the incapacitated colossus. Equip your sword and strike the now visi- ble vital point on its lower back. After while the creature will return to the sands, at this point use the same method as you did before to be able to reach his second vital point. The colossus may close his eyes, in this case just wait until you see them open and then shoot them. The second vital point can be found on its upper back. Move up its back with your sword equipped and when the symbol becomes visible, strike it as many times as required to finish off the beast. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | Yet another colossus battle that is not much different from its normal | | variation. Since it is stronger, you will need to drive the colossus into | | the wall once or a couple more times. Use the same method of driving the | | beast into the wall as with normal mode. Just let Agro steer himself | | you aim for its eyes. There are still two vital points on this colossus, | | you just need to stab them more times to kill the creature. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Eleventh Colossus - [1.11]................................................. =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... An altar overlooks the lake... A guardian set loose... It keeps the flames alive." The eleventh colossus is located in F-1. This is not a long journey. Leave the shrine and head directly north. When you have reached F-1, continue north until you reach a large canyon. The altar in question is down there, look for a long path leading down the mountain. Dismount and descend down the series of stone ramps. When you reach the bottom, hop into the water and swim towards the path of land with the altar. Follow the straight-forward path to the very top and enter the altar to the side. Climb the steps here and jump over the gap to the opposite side. Here, you will run into the eleventh colossus. This colossus resembles a large feline of some sort. It can be quite irritating, due to the fact that it continuously runs and rams into you, dealing a fair chunk of damage as well as knocking you down. To avoid this, just around from side to side if you are caught in its path. Other then this, this is a very simple battle. First, run to the top right end of this area and move between the wall and the stone with the brazier on top of it. Climb up the ridges on the side and wait. The colossus will run and ram into the stone, causing a piece of flaming wood to fall down. This colossus is afraid of fire, approach the wood and press R1 to pick it up and wield it. If the flame goes out, climb back up the stone and hit the brazier with the piece of wood. Now if you try to approach the colossus, it will back away in fear. Run so that the colossus' back is facing the ledge leading down to the outside. Now just simply walk towards it and back it off the edge. Don't get to close though, the colossus will still bat you with its claws if you are too close. The colossus will fall down the edge and its armor will crack. Now it may seem like a good idea to jump down, but don't. Instead, stand on the edge, aim your bow and shoot the incapacitated creature. You should be able to shoot him from up there. When the arrow has connected, the colossus will awaken and make its way up to you. Don't stand around, it's coming back and it's pissed! Run and climb up the stone with the brazier and wait. When the irked colossus returns, wait for it to ram the stone that you are on. When it does, jump down and grab onto the fur on its back. Now simply strike the vital point a few times and the colossus will fall. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | This colossus is just as easy as it was in normal mode. There isn't a | | noticeable change in the length of the battle, either. Just use the exact | | same strategy used to defeat the colossus in normal mode. The beast still | | only has one vital point. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ ================================================================================ ...Twelfth Colossus - [1.12]................................................... ================================================================================ "Thy next foe is... Paradise floats upon the lake... A silent being wields thunder.. A moving bridge to cross to higher ground." The twelfth colossus can be found in G-2. From the shrine, head north. Wrap around to the east and approach the bridge in the distance, surrounded by four pillars. Run towards the shrine, and then cross an almost identical bridge to the one you just passed over. Head inside the small forested area, head to your right as you enter. Exit through the second passage and continue heading to the east. Follow the path until you reach a pillar. Jump, grab onto the ridge and climb around to the opposite side. Swim in the water, past the open gate and approach the small piece of land in the middle. The colossus will then emerge out of the water. This colossus isn't very hard. It shoots electricity from its horns; try to jump from side to side to avoid it. If you are in the water, you can press and hold R1 to go underwater, you will be able to avoid the creature's shot. You need to get behind the colossus, jump into the water and start swimming along its side. It can be kind of tough to get behind the colossus, he usually swims along with you, so you aren't making any process. Hold R1 and press X rapidly to swim around the creature faster. When you have managed to reach its back, jump and climb up the furry part of its shell. Climb all the way up to its head. Note the small stones on the creatures head, you use these to direct the colossus to one of the pillar structures in the water. It's pretty easy to control, just hit one of the stones with your sword and the colossus will travel in that direction. Direct the creature towards the structure, once you are close enough to make it by jumping, jump on top of the structure. Hide behind the circular object in the middle to avoid its electricity blasts. This colossus only has one vital point and that is on his stomach. To get to this vital point, stand on the top of the structure and wait for it to raise its front legs. When it rests its legs on the structure, run, jump and grab hold of the creature's furry stomach. With your sword equipped, climb over the creatures stomach and strike the now visible vital point symbol. Once you have struck the point enough times, the colossus will smash the structure. Now just use the same method that you did before to get it to expose its vital point. Strike the vital point as many times as needed to defeat the colossus. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | The only difference between this colossus in hard mode and normal mode | | is that it takes longer to kill. This is annoying, you will need to | | stab its vital point more times to slay the beast. With its vital point | | exposed, you will only have the time to stab it with three fully charged | | strikes at the most. It takes around eight fully charged stabs to take | | the beast out. This means that you will have to direct the creature to | | the solitary platforms at least 4 times. This extends the length of the | | battle by quite a bit. The colossus still only has one vital point, so | | use the same strategy as you did for its normal variation. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Thirteenth Colossus - [1.13]............................................... =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... The vast desert lands... A giant trail drifts through the sky... Thou art not alone..." The thirteenth colossus can be found in E-6. From the shrine, head west and cross the bridge, follow your swords light to another bridge, cross the bridge and go into the small forest. Inside the forest, head south and continue moving until you reach the desert. Once in the desert move to E-6 and traverse the sandy area. Use your sword's light to guide you to the small ruined structure, the colossus will reveal itself. This Colossus appears to be a giant flying insect of some kind. As far as I know, this colossus doesn't have many attacks, the only real chall- enge is getting on it so you can reach its vitals. The only attack that I am aware of is when you are riding under the colossus, it will curve its body in an attempt to hit you with one of its multiple fins. Once you regain control of your character, ride Agro towards the flying colossus. When you have reached a good speed, hold R1 and press up on the left analog stick to stand. Equip your bow and shoot the white bulbs underneath the colossus. When you successfully punctured them all, the colossus will lower to the ground, allowing you to grab hold of it. Ride alongside the wounded colossus with Agro and get as close to its wings as you can. Jump and grab onto the little ridges on the colossus' wing. If you are having trouble grabbing onto its wing, try to either cut him off with Agro and jump on, or stand in its path and as it flies by jump and grab on. Do not ride along side it, he is too fast. The Colossus will fly back into the air, now you need to get on its back. When the wing is straight, loosen your grip, run and jump onto its back. Grab hold of its fur. The symbols are behind the creature's fins. Run behind one of the fins, grab hold of the colo- ssus, charge your strength and stab the symbol. Once you have struck the vital point a couple of times, it will disappear. The colossus will most likely retreat into the sand, and once it emerges again its bulbs will be refilled. Simply repeat what you did previously, shoot the white bulbs, grab onto the creatures wing, get onto its back and move to a different fin. There are three different vital points, each one behind one of its fins. You will probably need to puncture its bulbs and jump on its back three times until you can reach all of its vital points. Its fin will fold down and cover the last vital point if you reach it before the creature returns to the sand. Hold L1 so you know where it is while it is in the sand, this way you will be ready for it when it emerges once more. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | Once again, the only difference between this colossus battle and its | | normal variation is that it takes longer to kill. The difference in battle| | length is barely noticeable. You will still need to puncture its bulbs | | and grab onto one of its wings at least three times before you can defeat | | the colossus. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Fourteenth Colossus - [1.14]............................................... =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... A guardian set loose... A closed off city Beyond the channel... It lusts for destruction..." This colossus can be found in C-2. From the shrine, follow your sword's light to the north-east. Cross the bridge that leads to the opposite side of the canyon. From here, head north-west until you reach a mountain trail. Move thro- ugh the trail until you come to a series of pillars. Move past the pillars until you reach a tunnel. Continue through the tunnel, dismount Agro and swim to the opposite side. Continue through the tunnel until you reach the lost city. Once in the city, a brief scene will occur. Jump down from the high platform. Move through the doorway, drop down and climb up the circular object. Continue moving until you reach the colossus. This colossus is very much like the eleventh one, as in it continuously attem- pts to charge you as you try to stand. As soon as you regain control of the main character, get out of the way! The fourteenth colossus resembles the elev- enth one as well, its fur is a different color though. Look for a circular object with ridges on this level and climb up onto it. The colossus will ram it in an attempt to knock you down. Move along the overturned pillar and jump onto the archway near it. Jump up to the large wall, jump down to another archway and then run and jump to the tower and grab onto the ridge. Ascend up the tower and stay on the top. Now you have to get the creature angry, equip you bow and shoot the colossus with an arrow. Shoot it with a few arrows and it will eventu- ally knock the column over. Now you need to jump between each column, once you get to a new column shoot the colossus to refresh its anger. Continue jumping between columns until you reach the last one by a wall. When it rams this pillar, it will fall over and smash the wall. Enter the newly accessible area and climb up the brown ladder. Jump over onto the platform with the stacked blocks for pillars. The colossus will ram the pillar, bringing the entire platform crashing down upon it. Its armor will break, exposing its vital point. Climb back up the ladder and drop down on the colossus. Charge your strength meter and stab the colossus as many times as needed until it is dead. Alternatively, you can stand on top of the stone blocks near the rubble. When the colossus charges, it will stagger in pain due to its now exposed head. While it is staggered, you can climb on it and reach the vital point. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | This colossus battle is not much different from the normal mode one. One | | thing that I did notice however (probably due to the fact that the beast | | now has more health), is that the colossus, in an effort to shake you off | | will run around the battle area. At a certain point, you will not be able | | to hold on any longer. I didn't notice this during my normal mode play- | | through the game, but here is how you deal with it. Once you lose grip, | | you can stand on one of the objects throughout the level. When the colos- | | sus rams into the object, it will cause it to stagger, due to its exposed | | head. At this point you can jump on the creature's back and stab the | | vital point a few times before the colossus proceeds to drag you around | | the entire level again. Repeat this process until the colossus is dead. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Fifteenth Colossus - [1.15]................................................ =============================================================================== "Thy next foe is... A giant has fallen into the valley... It acts as a sentry to a destroyed city..." The fifteenth colossus can be found in G-1. From the shrine, head north. Wrap around to the east and approach the bridge in the distance, surrounded by four pillars. Now make your way around the canyon to G-1, you will probably notice that you have been here before and have fought a colossus in G-1. You have, go above the canyon that leads to the temple that you fought the eleventh colossus in and head east. Head towards the castle in the distance, enter the castle once you arrive. You will have to dismount Agro here, climb onto the ledge to the side and move around the large pillar. Move through the next room and climb up the large set of stairs. Make your way up the ledges, up the stairs past the pillars and into the large open area. Go to the very end of this area, you will then discover the colossus. It's big, REALLY big. First off, use your sword's light while you still can to scope out its vital point, which is on the palm of the hand that is holding the gigantic sword. While he is coming stomping towards you, the only thing you can really do is run! You need to get up to the walkway on the left of the area, your character can't jump high enough to grab so he can pull himself to the ledge. Stand just below the ledge, the giant will come towards you. When you see it lift its foot to stomp, move to the side, it will lift the tile, creat- ing a ramp for you to climb up so that you can get on the ledge. How nice of it, though I suspect that it wasn't intentional... You have to climb up fast, because when the giant removes its foot the tile will fall back into place. Move over to one of the stones along the walkway, now just wait for the giant to swing his sword. Once he does, it will knock down a stone, allowing you to climb up to the next level. Move to the end of the walkway, careful not to fall, and climb up the two sets of stairs. Now that you are this high, use your sword to scan the giant's vital point. There is a vital point on his head, now move across the top walkway and go onto the bridge that connects the two. Now when you notice that the big brute is about to swing its sword, move to the side. It will smash the bridge, now you need to get onto it. Wait until it comes close, jump and grab onto its head. Hang in there! The colossus will shake its head like crazy, if your grip meter needs to be recharged, stand on its shoulders. Charge up your strength and strike the colossus' vital point a few times until it disappears. Climb down his right arm, the one that is holding the sword, and look for the blue, glowing mark. Charge up your strength, strike it and the giant will drop its sword. Now you need to get onto its palm; this is easy, just wait around it on ground level while he is dangling his arms, it will eventually lower its hand low enough to the ground for you to grab on. Just jump into his palm and strike the symbol. If this doesn't work, the other way to do this is to stand in front of the colossus and wait for it to slam the ground with its fist. When it does, quickly move towards its fist and grab onto its palm. Strike the vital point as many times as needed to kill the giant. One more colossus to go! +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | The fifteenth colossus has one extra vital point in hard mode. It is loc- | | ated on the upper left portion of the colossus' chest. First, deal with | | the vital points on the giant's head and right palm. Once you are done | | with that, you need to get yourself back on to the colossus. Climb down | | the giant's body with your sword equipped. This symbol can be kind of | | annoying to remove, since the giant moves around a lot and it doesn't | | leave you with a good opportunity for a fully charged stab. Because of | | this, you may need to get onto the colossus more than once in order to | | completely remove its vital point to defeat it. This of course depends | | on the size of your grip meter. Do this as many times as needed to remove | | the symbol and kill the giant. | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ =============================================================================== ...Sixteenth Colossus - [1.16]................................................ =============================================================================== "Finally, the last colossus... The ritual is nearly over... Thy wish is nearly granted... But someone now stands to get in thy way... Make haste, for time is short..." The final colossus is located in F-8. Head directly south from the Shrine of Worship. Do not follow the path that you took to find the first colossus. Instead, run off the east and go between the mountains. Wrap around and head south, run through the valley until you reach a large set of doors. Stand in the circle and reflect the light back through the circular opening. Pass by the doors and save your game by the shrine on the hill. Make your way up the sets of stairs. Now get a good run, Agro will jump over the gap and get on the bridge. Run across the bridge quickly because it will begin to fall behind you. Once you make it across watch the event. Do not try crossing the bridge without the horse, it isn't possible. Now you need to make your way up this structure. Start by jumping up onto the square stones, jump and grab onto one of the ridges on the wall. Move over the rocks, jump to the side and grab onto the next platform. Climb up, jump up onto the square stones and climb up the ledges. Grab hold of the vegetation growing out of the side of the wall and climb up. Climb up and drop off to the ledge on the left. Jump up the ledges and walk along the circular path until you reach a door. Go inside the door, head up the steps until you are outside. Jump onto one of the circular pillars and climb up. Look beyond to see the gigantic, final colossus standing before you. Now this guy is deadly, he continuously blasts lighting at you, which deals a large amount of damage. Take cover behind the broken pillar to your right, let the colossus shoot one lighting ball at you and then drop down into the square opening in the floor. Move along this passage, once the ceiling is open be cautious, the colossus can still hit you from there. Take cover behind the big block, let him shoot a lighting ball, and then climb up and take cover behind the rock shield. Move between each rock shield to your right. You may need to roll to switch between each rock shield. This gives the colossus a smaller target to hit. Once you reachthe last one, jump down into the second square Opening to your right. Once you emerge outside once more, follow the path, move cautiously over the small, circular ledge. When you reach the end of the line, jump up and grab onto the climbing surface. Move around it and jump to the opposite ledge, hug the wall and quickly run through the square doorway. Proceed through the passage, once you reach the end climb up the ridges and take cover behind the pillar. Jump up the ledges, take cover behind the second to last ledge, continue up and take cover behind the rock shield. Run around move to the rock shield to your right. Move to the last one and take the time to ready yourself. If you are injured, crouch with the R1 button to regain health faster. Next drop off into another square opening to your right. Follow this path to the end and climb up the stairs. You will now find yourself betw- een the colossus' feet. Climb up the wall, move along the path and grab onto the moving wall's ridges. Climb to the top level, jump across the gap to the next path. Move to the end of this path, climb up the ridges and jump to the opposite path. Move along this path, find an open space in the wall and climb up the wall's ridges. Climb up the series of ledges until you reach the colo- ssus' mid-section. Its easy enough to make your way up to the colossus, if you found my directions hard to understand, I am sure you can get up to it by yourself. Once you have reached its back, equip your sword and stab the glowing blue mark on its back. Once he brings his hand around, jump and grab onto his palm. When he is inspecting his hand, climb up to his upper-arm section and stab the glowing blue symbol. Hopefully your grip meter doesn't give way, if there is a chance that you can stand idle on the colossus take it, just make sure that you are ready to grab on again once he starts shaking. Once you have struck his upper-arm section, he will bring his right hand over. While holding onto his left hand, hold R1 and Triangle, use the left analog stick and release Triangle to jump in the direction of his hand. Grab on and he will bring his hand to his right side. Now stab his hand, he will straighten out his hand, allowing you to recharge your grip meter. Equip your bow and shoot his left shoulder, he will bring his left hand over to cover the wound. Now's your chance to jump onto his shoulder. Climb up its shoulder and head around its, you can rest on his shoulders to regain grip if you need to. Jump up onto his head and climb onto his forehead. Stab the symbol as many times as needed to bring the colossus down. +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | - H A R D M O D E - | +~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~+ | | | No real differences here, besides the colossus taking longer to kill. | | You'll just need to take more breaks in between in order to allow your | | grip meter to recharge.
